Parshat Ki teizei: The one where they live happily ever after

[Music] where to ma'am give me home [Music] women women I don't know where you live oh right sorry yeah yeah we know all the fairy tales they end and they lived happily ever after but did you ever wonder what happens after the happily ever after great news you're in luck this week's Torah portion speaks all about it hit it I know well in this week's Torah portion we learned an interesting law the law of putting up a guard rail on your roof at first glance makes complete sense you know I don't want some guy flipping off my roof eh but there's actually a deeper lesson I'm here for the lesson no no no no no no not that lesson the deeper less [Music] all right here it goes too many times when we start a new chapter in our life let it be a new relationship a new commitment that happily ever after mindset kicks in and we assume that everything's going to be good because we want it to be good and what happens is we let our guard down all right let me give you an example think about the last time you walked into your brand new house are shining the windows are glowing the smell of the new paint and you think to yourself Yo I am never gonna make this house dirty again a few moments later [Music] [Applause] [Music] comes this week's Torah portion and teaches us when you build your new house when you build a new relationship when you take on this new commitment build yourself a guard rail don't just assume and they lived happily ever after prepare for challenges and one more thing we are not building this guard rail because we fear failure we're Paving the road to accomplishment shabbat shalom foreign [Music]
