until the 6th of October kibuts B was Paradise we live in a community kind of way everybody helps each other when I heard that this new neighborhood is being built I thought this would be a nice place to live it's so green and beautiful it's a very nice atmosphere in the keyboards I think it's an ideal uh place for children everybody knows everybody they can just safely walk to each other it's safe in many ways I mean people don't lock their doors uh feel secured it's like a one big family this is an NBC News special report we have breaking news out of Israel this morning where Hamas has launched a surprise attack Israelis woke up today to find their worst nightmares had come true in the form of a massive surprise attack by Palestinian militants from Gaza we have never seen anything like this before we were sleeping at home I heard color red the the missile allot we only have 7 seconds I called my daughter she was already you know up we went to the safe room in our pajamas a second later my next door neighbor she wrote in a WhatsApp somebody's shooting at our house lock your door I'm trying to think what can I do to lock my door I remember that I had an ore and I took apart my vacuum cleaner and I tied it really really well the vacuum cleaner was uh pushing the door handles so they won't be able to open they tried to open it they tried and tried and they kicked it and bit it and they shouting as we speak Palestinian gunmen are inside Israeli cities and towns something we have never before seen on this scale we were so afraid at that point and we were sure that they will be able to break it open we were holding hands she says Mom I love you I appreciate everything you've done for me [Music] 6:00 we heard somebody in Hebrew I'm Soldier my name is Danielle I came to help you don't panic your house is completely destroyed but you're okay put your shoes on we have 1 minute and we have to go stole all the shoes so we came out with our flip-flops pajamas and we drove to to a lot we were evacuated to a hotel over there and we've been there [Music] since in ber more than 90 people were murdered we're a small community each one of us lost somebody we still didn't know what is happening in ber the SE mother we didn't know if she's dying or was kidnapped my father-in-law we didn't know if he was dying if he was killed or killed kidnapped B printer this was the first business main business in kibuts B so if we want the community to rise their head and to be able to think about coming back to bar we need to rise our head in the factory and start printing start working very printers is a part of the Israeli economy we make credit cards over here now what there won't be any credit cards in Israel because very printers can't work we do checkbooks we do gift cards that you need to send to people that needs money to buy food after two days we said no no we need to open again we thought about what is the first thing that people needs to receive in Israel for we had nothing everything I wear are you know donations I never needed anything in my life from someone else but in these days when you go out of your house you take your kids you leave everything behind and then you receive some something to start helping you start start your life [Music] again [Music] for all these hours we felt deserted left alone unprotected so it is very important for us to feel that somebody really takes care of us we're not used to be people that needs these cards so I understand now what these cards mean it's not just plastic it was a plastic until the 6th of of October now it's more than [Music] that
