Guardians of honor 💂‍♂️

Welcome to central London. We're currently beginning the summer months in which we have the custom to learn about the holy temple of Ba Mikdash. One of the things we learn is that the Coenim and the Levites would guard the temple. Just to pause for a second, we see that the royal guards are here for a specific purpose and that is to honor the royal family. Back on topic, similarly, we find that also guarding the holy temple wasn't for security and protection. We see from the fact that in the base of Mikdash, the gates were locked up at night. Rather, this was to enhance the temple's splendor and honor. Yes, now.
