A L'Chaim.... on Water? 💧
One of the deepest teachings of Simchat Beit HaShoeva is that the great celebration was over water. Wine gives you a reason to be happy. Water generally doesn’t. And maybe that was the whole point. There is a kind of simcha that isn’t dependent on what happened today, what I accomplished, or whether life looks the way I hoped it would. It comes from the simple, overwhelming privilege of being alive, of being a Yid, and of being together. That is so much of the dream of our Shul, Shirat David. That anyone who walks through our doors should feel seen and loved. Not because of what they do or don’t do, but because their presence itself matters. On Sukkot, when we gather together and learn again what real simcha feels like, maybe that’s the l’chaim we’re trying to make: a l’chaim simply over the gift of one another. ---------- For more Shuirim and Music from Rav Shlomo Katz, visit: https://ravshlomokatz.com Join Rav Shlomo Katz's WhatsApp Community: https://chat.whatsapp.com/KHKOhhPaeHx5Kb74WL9L9a?mode=ems_copy_t #lchaim #l'chaim #lchaimtishsukkot #l'chaimtolife #water #sukkotinjerusalem #sukkotsongs #sukkot2026 #sukkotmusic #sukkotinisrael #sukkotcelebration #sukkotexplained #sukkotand #sukkotandsimchattorah #sukkotjewishholiday #sukkotmeaning
