This is a tribute for Rabbi Yisrael Rubin, alav hashalom, just passed away. He was the Rebbe's shliach to Albany, New York, and in that entire capital region, all the way down to Orange County, etc., etc., for 52 years. Rabbi Rubin and I had worked on a book about his father, which is not yet published. So, I got to know him in that context. First, Rabbi Rubin, I assume, it's an assumption, that he was a bakiy in Shas. And I'm not talking about just reading words, he really knew the Gemara Talmud with the commentaries. He was a massive Talmud chacham, a massive Torah scholar. In addition to that, he was very creative. Rabbi Yisrael Rubin was able to take Torah and make it accessible in a in a way that was for children interesting. You know, we're talking about in the '70s, the '80s, many years ago, before you had internet access, AI. If you see what he produced at that time, it's amazing. He was able to take concepts and and and explain them and deliver them and and print them in a way that was fun for children. So, that's another beautiful gift that Hashem gave him. Now, he was the shliach to the capital of New York, which is very important. For years, he would meet with the representatives, with the governor. He was the Rebbe's man in that area. He told me something that I'll never forget. He told me that when Reb Hodakov, who hired, you know, for the Rebbe, the people who when they were chosen to go on shlichus here and there in those days in the '70s, '60s, '70s, Reb Hodakov said to him, this is what he told me, "That we know that you're going to follow and listen to our directives." And he mentioned, "Not like another fine shliach, but someone who, you know, didn't exactly, he listened, but he he had his own style and and I don't know why Reb Hodakov would say it that way, but this is what he told me. I wouldn't I wouldn't uh make it up. In other words, Yisroel Rubin had a kabbalah style to him. He was on the on more the quiet side. He wasn't splashy all over. He also had an opening there. He had opportunity to meet other frum Yidden, other people who were were was were learned, and he would teach them. had a sheer with them in the morning. Yeah, I remember he told me he had a column of Torah with us that he learned that he that was part of this Khabura this group. And for years he worked very hard. He set up a place I think in Saratoga and in various places where people come especially in the summer to visit because of the weather and the spas. So he spread out but in a in in in a quiet way. He also opened the school Maimonides Hebrew Academy or some something like that which it kept going for years with a lot of students but it was the quality over the years. Reb Yisroel was the son of Reb Moishe Rubin famous Chabad Chassid coming out of Slonim who learned in Otvosk and he came to Canada it was a Shochet Reb Moishe Rubin who was a big Baal Menagen. So Reb Yisroel was his son. And Reb Yisroel Rubin was someone who could write well. He he was a he was a gifted person a talented person. And no question that his his mission of 52 years being a Shliach and and done in a peaceful way with other having other Shluchim under him but working together with them and not uh causing uh fights and issues from his perspective, from his you know This is important. May the shamash have an aliyah Reb ben Moshe Kitzur Shulchan Aruch ben Naftali Offer who in Mayim Mayim will have only t'chiyas hameisim and only good things.
