Tribute Rabbi Pinchus Weberman of Miami - Baki in Shas, Fighter for Torah principles, Rebbe's Chasid

welcome this is a tribute to the neshama of rabbi pinchus weberman abbott weberman was a great man a great fighter on behalf of taylor yiddish kite taylor judaism i interviewed rabbi weberman about 10 years ago in miami it was fascinating we spent about two hours together and he shared his history his beliefs and many other things and i want to just tell you this this must say for the sake of his special the shama tell you a little bit about it brother webberman was born in 1930 he was born in the lower east side his mother's family was horowitz from horowitz and margaret matsus famous matzah bakery company that was his family his mother's side his father was a lawyer and his father was one of the founders of yeshiva tara vadas but later uh his sons a few of his sons gravitated to rabbi av known as the malach and they left us and they became and this will be uh written about well i've wrote it already in my book which is coming out now and it's available i encourage you to read it because it has a lot about the webermans as well anyway at that time he left torvadas and he meaning the father of rabbi weberman and um they found that yeshiva called nasivas olam that's the malachi yeshiva it was in williamsburg it was a fantastic yeshiva but before that robert weberman told me he remembers when he was five or six years old in 1935 or 36 looking from the upstairs in his house looking down and hearing the way rap shiraga fighter mendel overshadowed them was the principal and dean of taravadas arguing with his father and saying listen if you want them to wear beards and he took his beard and he said take the beard i been meant to love it felt that students wearing beards in ter vadas at the time will turn off parents from sending their children to teravadas it was not borough park who encouraged him to do this and he went to talk to the rebber in general he wasn't someone who went to rebels but in 1957 a friend of his encouraged them this other rabbi who was a laboratory in this yeshiva boro park to go and he went and he was most impressed with the rebbe he felt the ramp was different in his understanding and his knowledge and his ability to understand stand up for the truth so that's the type of person he was and because of his vast knowledge of tata he was able to to to have this authority i recall sitting at a a kitser honorary shir that he gave a class between minnehaha mairev uh in kitsu at least the times that i attended and the entire talmud the entire halacha jewish law all came out from those few simple words that he was reading in the kits of it was amazing to see i would go there just to hear his year because it was brilliant to be able to read the concise version of the code of jewish law from from it he he mentions to you the entire expansion of torah what is the talmud saying what is the rambam saying what is the rift saying what does the tour say what is the mr bruno what is the altar well let's see this what does muslims say all coming out from one simple line the kids are not i was talking to my brother yesterday and he said robbie webermen although he was he was uh uh and all that but he's he was a fighter policeman and the chief of police having good stake that his kids prepared he understood that if he wants the police to be with with his community and the jewish community he needs to feed them you know and that's what he did he was a chaplain not just a chaplain i think he was the head of the chaplains of in in the florida area for years he was well connected to government and city agencies and individuals he he knew he listened he came at a very early time 1960 but he he followed the the trajectory of the jewish development of florida and miami in particular and he was the kingpin he was the top okay yes rabbi korf came a year or so later and uh did tremendous things and and today has over 200 institutions in florida it's all true but you have to understand that the individual who laid the groundwork all the years for orthodoxy you know not just outreach was rabbi weberman there's so much more to say about him he had thank god a very large family and earth hundreds and hundreds of grandchildren and great-grandchildren beautiful families and mishpaches and no question that what he did for yiddish kite tara yiddish guy here in florida for 62 years will be eternal until moshiach's coming and after mashiach's coming you know we're all riding now on his wings really the entire florida has become a haven for jews and orthodox jews as well everyone's running down everyone either for the winter or for the summer for right young old yeshiva's kayla lim girls schools outreach programs combat houses yeshiva's day schools gevaldic the beginning those two people you know i have to say three people is uh rabbi weberman rabbi korff and then the rabbi from the miami yeshiva godola forget his name now must be mentioned and credited for the hard work that that he did as well for years of course there were rabbis before you know i'm not i'm not saying they they they're small change but in comparison to what what these three did there's for the orthodox community the establishment their small change and in particular what i'm emphasizing highlighting as a tribute for rabbi webb as the shamu who passed away raping us is that he went with courage yes he fought when he needed to fight even if it was unpopular he was a pinchas pinterest his name was pincus weberman he was the pinchas in the terrible portion we read just recently pink azalea why icon is kinosi
