Rabbi Dr. Alter Bentzion Metzger - Stern College, Translator & Fiery Chasid - RC Dalfin

It's a tribute to the nama of Rabbi Dr. Alen Mezer who I knew and spoke to and observed. I remember he would come to the all the years by dollars and and would always give him a bottle of mashka. He was a professor of course at Stern College and the Reb writes in letters to to people that they should go see Dr. Dr. Mez, they should go be his student. And the Reba used that him at Stern College as a guide to be Madric girls who wanted to have more. I'm sure thousands of girls went through his classes. Dr. Mezer was an animated person. But before that, Dr. Measer group I believe in the east side and he was a massive ham could be he was a some say a shas graham when I interviewed Dr. Norman Lamb he raved about Dr. Mezer Dr. Meza was in the I think the first maybe in in one of not the first but in the graduating class of university in 1951 I believe in those years he came to he was there and and he became a strong of the I mean strongass is he had he took certain bushel bay and he he had it laminated nicely and blew it up. I think Sai in Sai in English one side this one side that this is my recollection and he gave it out and when he would speak and he spoke at many simas he would always mention the BMP. One of the things that I wrote about in in my book and then later in university was about Dr. Mezzer and I I called some of those letters from the Reba to him and to others about him about mentioning him and Eastern College and um he had I believe a Tanya in his room the dormatory room you because at the time there was a sh but one of the something didn't want and and didn't want it in the base med so they they went there to his room and a few of the came and they had different who came I think belvorf I believe and then later I think so over the years but he he started again in the late n 40s and into the 50s Dr. The mezzer had advised me I came back I was already married to get a PhD a PhD in Jewish studies didn't follow through but um I I spoke to him about it and he and he said that you know someone like myself that is writing and teaching and enjoys this type of work should it would be very helpful. I found find I found found him to be in a way you know very open-minded yet very much traditional and and became the real of the you know and you're talking about a person who was called Rabbi Dr. Mezer he had a PhD you know I think he he told me he wrote it on he wrote his thesis on cooker cook so he was uh ya had tremendous yad I also remember in the 1970s he was a guidance counselor in the afternoon several times a week maybe every day but um in lab shiva in ocean parkway he would pull out you know take out some students and talk to Um so he he was uh a close dement you know someone that had a shy to other and other communities literature communities etc etc the wu world and he uh made a great impression. I really hope that the family will saying this to to his rebbitson who I also know and comfort you and to Yeshua Josh um Mezer Yeshua Mezer from Midtown Manhattan who's done such work and he has brothers and sisters a sister I think in Mexico married to Misish and other brothers who I've spoken to over the years shall have only and only and to please to Please take all your father's writings and his works and put out a book. Very very important. Now is not the time to to to be bashful and to be modest. The belt has to know what type of ye your father was. Good things. And um only only only good things only good things.
