Crown Heights Eiruv controversy #2 - Rabbis, leaders find a way to include everyone - RC Dalfin

I'm sitting here in my so-called suka. I say so-called because we don't have the we just have four bare four bare walls. And that's the message that I share with you regarding the aid of controversying in Crown Heights. The beauty of the suka is it takes everyone in. In my previous message about the ad of some people called and uh kind of complained, intimated, you know, why am I mixing in? And and really that's not where I'm coming from. I don't live in Crown Heights. I live in Burough Park. However, I know the community of Crown Heights from my childhood. I was born in Crown Heights. I grew up with the people there, most who have passed on. the reba the secretaries and many others. So I feel and I am an insider, not an outsider, even though the place I sleep usually is in Boro Park. But be that as it may, all I was saying is of course the Rabonim, the rabbis of the community, they establish the rules of the community for the Okay. If the rabbis say it's forbidden to have an AV in Crown Heights, that's the way it is. If you're not happy with their ruling, take them to to other rabbis and see if an other rabbis can overrule them. I'm not coming from that perspective. I'm coming from a very simple perspective. When we have people living in a community who are unhappy and and want to find a way to be part of the community, it's it behooves the rabbis and the leadership of that community to give them some platform to give them recognition. That's all I'm saying. And at the end it the ruling might be you know we feel for you we understand you but we believe that Ebba didn't want this and this is the way it is and that's it but show them that you care for them. These are your people. These are our people. There is a big element today in Crown Heights of young people who want a nu. They don't want to be the women don't want to be stuck in their home. And trust me, the first time that I saw a woman car, you pushing a a stroller on Shabas, I had to control myself from going over to her and saying, "This is not allowed here. Stop it. Please respect our community." And I know some probably are thinking, "Well, why didn't you do that?" Because it would be worse. it wouldn't accomplish that she should come closer. So we have to find ways of of bringing the message across and that's the suka incorporates everyone. In other words, we baba we'll take in anyone into our suka. We'll take anyone that's not yet religious or has lifestyle issues that are very antithetical to Torah. We'll take them in. We'll embrace them. But our own we push aside. You know better. You went to Brika. You went to the Babach Shiva. You went to Alutra. My dear friends, the beauty of life is as you grow and as you open your mind and you see the larger picture, you try and you find ways of bringing to people together. The Reb clearly gave over these type of things to the to the Rabonim, to the community, the Vad and leaders. So it's up to them. That's that's my point. My point is we have an issue. We have people who are not satisfied. We have women who are stuck and say we don't want this. We can't live this way. And if indeed someone made an aid of that's kosher from a reputable group of rabonim or aid of raonim then somehow deal with it and and and and explain that although that's true but for if you want to be a labaturer in the community of crown heights we kits cannot accept that. So, I know you're probably thinking, "What has Rabbi Dolphin here added that's innovative?" I'm not here to add innovation. I'm here to to get us to work with each other. And I'm talking primarily to the leaders of the community, the Vad, the Rabonim, Rabosai. Please listen to the child cry. There are hundreds and thousands of people that are are crying out and they're say they need this. They want to celebrate Shabas properly and Yokiper properly. So help them somehow. How? That's your job. Come from that perspective of aasis. Don't come from a perspective ah these are modern laburers. These are lightweights. They don't care. They'll do whatever they want.
