Bayside, Queens cemetery: Rabbi Shmuel Zev Wolfson, Tshashniker Ilu, 1899, Lub Chasid- RCD #1

Okay, so we're here at this little monument, but actually it's a very great person. Reb Shmuel Zev Wolfson. He passed away in 1899. He was born in 1814. >> [snorts] >> And his father was Reb Luzer Eluzer the Krummer. Now, I heard in Yeshiva always a name we Chabad bochurim Luzer the Krummer. He was a chossid of the Alter Rebbe. And somehow they say that he is A SON OF LUZER the Krummer. And it makes sense cuz the Alter Rebbe passed away in 18 1812. He was born 1814. So it makes sense that his father was a chossid of the Alter Rebbe. Now he's on the same He's a few graves three one two three three graves from Reb Chaim Reb Reb Chaim Yakov Vidrovitz. And what does it say here about him? Um what it says here you'll start it. It says a po nikvar here is buried HaKochem which is spelled wrong, but so be it. HaKochem HaMefursam Moreinu Rav Shmuel Zev Wolfson zal. HaMochuneh who's known as the Tsheshniker ilui, the genius of Tsheshnik. Um passed away the 29th of Shvat uh 1899. Now, it's interesting. I thought about it. There's a famous niggun in Chabad meditative niggun Reb Tsheshniker's niggun which might also be called the Yechidus niggun when they came out of the Alter Rebbe Yechidus. So I don't know if it's the same city, but it could be. It sounds like it. Anyway, [snorts] there's a lot to say to be said about him. Basically, he was a a goan. He was together with Reb Shneur Zalman Fradkin the Lubliner Rav that but who wrote the Tiferes Chassid who the Tzemach Tzedek lauded tremendously. And and um it's They say that he was even a greater guy. Now, he came to America seems like in the either 1880s Yeah, 1880s uh and he was like a scientist or patent. He made >> Inventor. >> for exhaust. >> Mhm. >> He developed certain things. Um I asked for a picture. We don't have a picture of him. We could find a picture would be great. Oh, and now with the reflection, I could see a little bit the words. Uh why they don't have a big stone is beyond me. Maybe this is uh the way they did it in those days. Um 1899 and the Lubavitcher is uh 1911. You're talking about a 12-year difference. But um this is a recent found that he was a Lubavitcher Chabad Chassid. I assume with the Tzemach Tzedek. Could it Could it be the Mitteler Rebbe? Mitteler Rebbe passed away in 1828, I think. He was born in 1814. Could be he knew the Mitteler Rebbe, too. Very fascinating. Very fascinating. Because Lozer the Krummer is such a personality in the Chabad in the Chabad history. Lozer the Krummer, everyone knows about Lozer the Krummer. Um Did he have children? I don't know. Okay. May he may the Shomer have an aliyah and Tucker to bring Mashiach now.
