Shalom and welcome to practical spirituality so happy to have everyone here and if you're watching this online happy you're here too and so much of our lives are happening online you know and and just a tremendous growth is available like never before you know and um but everyone should be aware that as much as you're online you're taking a risk in your serotonin levels which is your uh what makes you happy we have chemicals that make us happy we have chemicals that make us sad um there the chemical that makes you happy is called serotonin and it's um it's something to be taken seriously and obviously anti-depressant drugs are working on serotonin and what they've discovered is one of the most important things for serotonin is social interaction so if you're watching this online beware that you're getting enough social interaction and and the the latest scientific findings which I've been looking into lately let me just make a br I can hear my throat is need some water maybe put it on Buzz so the the latest scientific findings is that people now that they're so on their phones they're so online that they believe they that extroverts believe social interaction would be a positive thing but when they actually have it they find out it's way more positive than they had originally scored it so meaning they might have scored it a four and then they found out it was like more like an eight to have interacted socially and the people who are busy on their phones all the time who are introverts which is the other half of the world population introverts meaning they they get more connect Ed by oneon-one they get connected by they love being alone they they get a ton out of being on their own and those are introverts so they rate social interaction as like a one like to be in a social environment they rate it very low only to discover that it was more like a six when they were out there and so meaning they're they're they're they're they're um not having an accurate read on what social interaction would do for them so they're just choosing not to and uh but the problem with that is is that there's some this what I was calling I have a I made a term for it social serotonin social serotonin is the serotonin that gets activated by human interaction even strangers doesn't matter who they are that's why you'll notice that if you're let's say you're walking down the street and someone just for some reason looks at you and goes like this just go like like that to you when you're walking down the street you'll notice that it shifts your sense of Happiness your joy shifts right there and for that reason if you want to actually instead of taking drugs like like proac or weed or any of those things if you'd like to um increase your serotonin there's a trick to do it you know what you do stare at people when you walk down the street you know what happens when you stare at somebody what do they do well they look back they always look because they want to know who's staring at them people can feel it when someone stares at them so when someone stares at you when he so he's going to look at you like this and then you go like this just a little bit just nod your head a teeny bit like that what's he gonna do he'll do it right back everyone does even the most stone-faced person will give you a nod if you nod at them and if you do that 10 times well on your way across town if you do that 10 times your way across town watch your feelings notice your emotion of joy is much stronger as you as you cross town okay I think I'm going to keep that as a little mini mini video hit the likes and the all the other things you hit subscribe
