it's time for rabbi Minko it's weekly
Torah lesson here with his spiritual
perspective and insight
rabbi Mingo it's welcome to this week's
Torah listen this week's Torah portion
is Pasha's Vera the question of the week
is happily experienced great growth so
in this week's Torah portion we learn
about the plagues which caused the
Jewish people to be able to leave Egypt
in other words in order to leave Egypt
there was a process you have to go
through ten plagues that was in a
physical level the same thing also in
order to go out of Egypt spiritually
what does Egypt mean you stuck you're
trying to have a great growth there's a
process of the plagues so we'll talk
about the first two blades spiritually
what the process is the first plague is
that what all the water turned into
blood what does that mean water
resembles cold blood is warmth
excitement so the first plague the
message is any time you're studying
touring you're praying and you're doing
the throat don't just do it coldly
systematically or like a function of an
inventor you're trying to accomplish but
be excited about it be passionate about
it like with blood the really
compassionate excited about all the
mitzvot Lateran that you're in the
praying that you're doing that's the
first void of going out of Egypt so you
want to start going out of Egypt be
excited but all the spiritual stuff
second thing is was grasshoppers what's
the grasshoppers they were grad servers
are grown from the water that means it's
resembles something which is cold and
weird weird weird the grasshoppers go
into your houses and the ovens all over
what does that mean when it comes to
materialistic things houses cars
physical things you should be cold about
it it just serves a purpose
don't be compassionate passionate
excited about materialistic things it's
a functional thing just do it
spiritually this concept is not a new
concept it's the concept that we know
I'll say it in Hebrew I'll translate sir
may rob us a toys
Sorbara means go away from being overly
involved in in in negativity or an evil
or being excited
about materialistic thing but I see toy
you put all your energy into positive
stuff tourer emits low to prayer etc so
the question has asked since we know the
normal procedure is sir Mira go away
from being excited from physical things
and then get involved spiritual things
here it's the opposite here we're saying
be excited about Torah midsole and by
the way
clean up your act with the your over the
involvement in the spiritual things why
is that maybe explains that's because
mean you want to go out of Egypt you
can't wait until you get rid of all the
negative behaviors to start the positive
behaviors start doing the positive
stop being exciting about our room but
mitzvot than a prayer and slowly you'll
clean up your involvement your
excitement in other areas of your life
so the answer the question how can we
experience great growth start right away
be excited but studying Torah praying
and doing it slow and slowly with time
you'll clean up your other negative
traits that we all have thanks for
joining us
