[Applause] it's time for rabbi mankiewicz weekly Torah lesson here with his spiritual perspective and insight rabbi Mingo it's to this week's Torah lesson this week's Torah portion is part of Noah the question of the week is why don't we live in a swimming pool so it's interesting this week's Torah portion Pontius Nowak we learn about the flood and the question is why did God bring the flood so there's a muscle comparable given where there was once a king that created people that could not speak and because they couldn't speak they were so grateful for the king that created them with their sign language they were praising the Kings and the King said Wow if they can't speak in the praising me so well I'm gonna give him the gift of speech so he gave them the gift of speech and they started to initially praise God but then with the gift of speech they starts not getting along and they start to rebelled against God so the King said guess what taking away the gift of speech and they went back without the gift of speech and they start to praise the King again same thing also with God God originally created a world only water and the waters praise God as the verse says we call uisce my remedy room from the tremendous from the waters we had these voices we praise God so God says wow they created a world just what water praises me commands I created earth so God goes ahead and put some earth in the in the world what happens then then unfortunately we sinned on the earth so God brings the flood to purify the world and to bring back the originally quite as mine Robert medieval but then God what goes ahead and brings back to the earth so the question is if the water was beautiful and that praise God and God by bringing the earth we rebelled against God why did God bring back the earth because ultimately the plan is that God doesn't want us to live in a vacuum God wants us whom Allah orit's they SSM kamae Emilia mahasin God wants not only in when the war the world is full of water which to praise God but even in the physical materialistic world we should create that water like experience that we should praise God even if we're not necessarily in the water so the answer the question why aren't we living in a swimming pool because God wants to live in this physical world with all the temptations and all the challenges out there but nevertheless we should remember the water experience we were totally enclosed in God and godliness and create a beautiful experience on this world this week's Torah lesson is the memory of baroque Benari laid in Ben Yossef may their souls be elevated by the Torah study in their memory thank you so much for joining us for this week's Torah lesson for more information please see our website
