Torah lesson this week's Torah portion
is positive the the question of
the week is how can you get rid of your
fears so in this week's Torah portion
postures verse Allah we finally come to
the great story we're the Jewish people
are leaving Egypt not only are they
leaving but power actually kicks them
out of Egypt and they're off to freedom
which is a beautiful thing they were
slaves for so many years and now there
are free people but what happens after
they leave Egypt
guess what power a starts running after
them and starts chasing them and the
Torah tells us the Jewish people turn
around and they give a look oh my gosh
power is running after them and they
become afraid so the question is I ask
God took them out of Egypt
why were they afraid it wasn't power
they kicked them out technically power
would let them leave but the only reason
why power let them leave is because God
took told them to leave so God took the
Jewish people out of Egypt why they
afraid so the Baal Shem Tov had a
fascinating insight and he explains as
follows and he gives a parable somebody
is sick not feeling well and guess what
he moves from one community to the other
he's still sick
why because he did not address the real
issue that he's not feeling well by
moving from one place to the other is
not going to heal you the same thing
also when the Jewish people were in
Egypt they were slaves when they left if
they still had the slave mentality
they're still in Egypt and therefore
empowering start to run after them they
became afraid again what was the secret
that calls them to really be free right
after they were afraid they realized oh
my gosh leaving Egypt and being in Egypt
if you're afraid you're still afraid the
only way you can release yourself from
your fear is what they did right after
that

they asked God to save them so in other
words as long as they were in Egypt or
even out of Egypt as long as they were
still afraid and they did not have faith
in God they will always have the fear
once they turn to God that's when they
became really free people so the answer
the question how can you get rid of the
fears not by running away but by turning
to God when you turn to God there are no
fears
