welcome to this week's torah lesson this week's torah portion is partial schnitzel the question of the week is what is truva and how does it work so in this week's torah portion partial sub him we have the mitzvah where god says this that we're commanded to return to hashem to do truva which is interesting divine providence we are right now in the month of el the month of repentance the month of juventu we're getting ready for rosh hashanah which is all about trouba and the 10 days of trouba and yom kippur so right here in this week's torah portion we have the mitzvah of doing truva now we know truva is the one the biggest gifts hashem gave us we can sin we can do wrong things and hashem takes us back all you have to do is do chuva not only that it says in the talmud as follows that when someone returns to hashem we know there's different reasons why you return to hashem you can return to hashem out of fear and you can turn to hashem out of love and there's different levels of love different levels of awe but the talmud says that when someone returns to hashem out of love guess what happens his doing is noise it means if someone did something intentionally wrong it becomes a positive energy towards him the expression is not like something that a person did wrong intentionally becomes actually a mitzvah up to the point that the sin gets eradicated as if it never existed so ever ask a question one second we all know the reality is there's something which is called a cause and effect there's a cause that creates an effect there's no such thing that an effect that creates a cause so therefore how is it possible that someone does truva and now it fixes something in the past you can fix for the future from now on i'm going to be good from now on life is going to be great but how do you go ahead and fix the past and the rubber explains when he says like this the truth is yes we do not have the power to change the past cause and then effect however there are times that a cause reveals that the past was totally different so in other words rubber explains a jew is somebody that in his nature is good and want to do good that's who we are in our nature when a person sins god forbid that's not their nature their nature of goodness and being connected to god is concealed so when they were sinning were they good at that time yes and we unfortunately that goodness was concealed what happens when a person does truva what they're showing is they're revealing that when they sinned they were really good that was the same wasn't them so correct normally the cause creates the effect no effects creates the cause but when you're only revealing a truth or before that's not change that's not changing the past and shruva has the power when you return to hashem out of love to show that really we love hashem and really we're part of god and really we're good and therefore because we're good that's why it has the power to create this dinos things that we did that were wrong before could become meritorious for us and the total sin goes away to the answer the question how does truva work truevo works because our shaman knows that our soul is good and we want to do good and you know sometimes we fall into the darkness of life but really we are good and we are great so i want to wish each and every one of us we should have a happy and healthy sweet new year the sauna toyo masuka we should return to hashem hashem loves us or some knows that we're good hashem knows we want to do good and we will all have god's willing a great rosh hashanah a great young kipper and an awesome circus and christopher with tremendous love and tremendous happiness thanks so much for joining us for our weekly torah lesson this week's torah lesson is dedicated to memory of may their souls be elevated by torah with studying in their memory for more information please see our website swf.org have a great and blessed week the shana tova um
