Welcome to this week's Torah lesson. This week's Torah portion is the question of the week is why the double comfort. So in this week's Torah portion, we have the Torah that says God says we come for the Jewish people twice. So the question is what's the double comfort? So the Reb explains and he says as follows that what happens is why does God need to comfort us? Cuz we sinned. Now what happens when a person sins? Usually the sin is a double sin. What does that mean a double sin? Because first of all that you forsook God and B you got involved with silly stuff. So it's a double sin. Now what happens when a person repents? So when you repent it's a double repentance. Why? Because we know when God gave the ten commandments it only says once referring to God. But when it comes to repentance, it's it says in the prophets, it refers to the essence of God twice. It knows through chuva through repentance, you reach a double level of connection with Hashem. Like we know the whole concept of chuva, it says in Hebrew is know what and what happens when someone when someone reveres off the path and they return they come back with greater energy. So the answer to the answer to the question why the double comfort because the double comfort is referring to chuva and chuva is done with double energy.
