Welcome to this week's Torah lesson.
This week's Torah portion is paras.
The question of the week is what was so
noble about Pinas. So in this week's
Torah portion, the Torah begins and it
tells us
benz
was a son of the son of Aaron the high
priest. So the question is asked what
was her noble pin? There were many
people all throughout Jewish history
that went on soul sacrifice. And the Reb
explains and he says, "We know the
ultimate purpose that we're here is to
serve God by learning Tory and doing
mitzvot and to do it in our physical
body,
not to escape our body to live in this
world. However, to do mitzvah, it means
learn to do mitzvah in the highest level
is when you learn it from a place of and
you do the mitzvah from a place of
serious not for self-sacrifice.
In other words, all throughout history,
Jewish people, yeah, went on
self-sacrifice, but their souls left the
body. That's not the ultimate purpose.
The ultimate purpose is learn to do
mitzvah and stay in this world. And to
the answer to the question, what was so
noble about pinhas? Pinas self-sacrifice
was
in his physical body. He stayed alive in
this world and that's the ultimate. The
ultimate is to serve Hashem, learn to do
mitzvah but with the upgrade of
self-sacrifice and remaining in this
world. Thanks so much for joining us for
our weekly Torah lesson. This week's
Torah lesson dedicated to memory of
may our souls be elevated by Torah we're
studying in the memory. For more
