Welcome to this week's Torah lesson. This week's Torah portion is parasis. We're also celebrating the holiday of Purim. The question of the week is what is a Jew? So in this week's Torah portion, it says when you elevate the head and the question is what does it mean elevate the head? Why are we picking up the head? So the Reb explains based on what we learn in the migill. It says what does it mean? Yehudi is from the expression of just acceptance whatever Hashem wants. But says one second referring to Morai Morai was a Torah scholar. He was on the Sanhedrin. Why is he just known as a Yehudi? Someone that accepted and the Reb explains and he says because Mor had both. On one hand he was a real Yehudi. He was a simple Jew. He accepted whatever Hashem wanted and that gave him the power that his should be so strong. And the same thing the Reb explains that's why he says [snorts] when a person goes ahead and prays and is connected to Hashem you have the power to even to elevate the idea of your intellect and all your faculties of Torah study and great ideas. So the answer to the question what is a Jew? A Jew is a Yehoodi willing to do whatever Hashem wants with simplicity. Thanks so much for joining our weekly Torah lesson.
