Parsha Ha’azinu Chasidic Torah thought from Lubavitcher Rebbe by: Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz

Welcome to this week's Torah lesson. This week's Torah portion is parshas Hazinu. The question of the week is, why does the soul have to come down into this world? So, in this week's Torah portion parshas Hazinu, it says, that the Jewish people are connected to Hashem and Yaakov "chevel nachalaso" it's a much deeper connection. "Chevel" is Why is Yaakov a deeper connection? So, the Rebbe explains something very powerful and he says like this, when God created the world, he created the world initially with tremendous power energy which is called from the Olam HaTohu and there was a shattering of the vessels. Those vessels are very powerful. They connect They contain within it the power of bittul acceptance. And we, and our job in this world, is to look for those powerful sparks that come from the world of Tohu that have within it the ingredient of bittul, and by going ahead and dealing with the physical world, and searching, and struggling, and finding those sparks, and elevating them, and going from being an Adam, which is Aleph is God, but down with full of passion sometimes in the wrong places, but finding the sparks from Tohu, and becoming a little more refined, becoming more bittul, we will create the greatest power in this world. And that's why, to answer the question, why does the soul come down to this world? Because the soul on high was great, it was amazing. But, when it comes down to this world, it reaches even a place higher by looking for the sparks, elevating the sparks, elevating ourselves, elevating the animal soul, and elevating the world, we reach even a much greater place. So, the descent of the soul is ultimately for even a greater ascent. Thanks so much for joining us for our weekly Torah lesson.
