Welcome to this week's Torah lesson. This week's Torah portion is paras. The question of the week is what is the ultimate that a person can reach at? So in this week's Torah portion, we learn about a was old coming in his days. So what does that mean? He's old. What does it mean? He's coming in his days. So the zora says means he reached a level of what a very high spiritual level. Baba Y means holy days filled with learning Torah and doing mitzvah and he did it every single day. There wasn't a day that he didn't do a mitzvah. Reb says one second if a he reached mean reached a higher level. How is doing every single day higher than reaching? The explains as follows because Hashem created the world and he wanted to make a dwelling place in this world. What is the world comprised of? The concealed world space is concealed and time is concealed. So therefore, what every time you learn to you do a mitzvah and you pray and you give charity, you're elevating the world. That's a space. But in order to elevate time, which is constantly being recreated, you have to do a mitzvah every single day. And therefore, it's not enough a mitzvah of yesterday and tomorrow. And that's why the verses are the first thing was yes, he reached a very high place. He elevated the world. But the real question was did he do it every single day? And the Torah says baba Aram every single day elevated not only the world the space but he also elevated the time. So the answer the question what is the greatest place we can reach at to make sure every single day doesn't go by without learning to and doing mitzvah. This way we'll be elevating not only the physical world but we'll also elevating time which will give God the satisfaction of fulfilling his dream of making a dwelling place for God down in this world.
