Parsha Bamidbar Chasidic Torah thought from Lubavitcher Rebbe by: Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz

Welcome to this week's Torah lesson. This week's Torah portion is Parshas Bamidbar. The question of the week is, how do we get to know God? So, in this week's Torah portion, Parshas Bamidbar, after we read the Torah portion, we have the Haftorah, where it brings from the prophet that says, "V'erastich li l'olam." We're going to be engaged to Hashem forever. We're going to be engaged to Hashem b'tzedek u'mishpat u'v'chesed u'v'rachamim, with righteous, justice, kindness, compassion, and we're going to be engaged to God with faith. And then it says, "Vi'yadata es Hashem, you're going to know God." So, the question is, what are these three levels? And the Rebbe explains, the three levels are the first level is where it's optic comes down to binah, which is all about meditation. In the world of of briah. Then it refers to the the all the emotions, which is in the world of yetzirah, and doing the mitzvot. And then is the world of action, where it's all about having faith in Hashem. And when you go through all three levels, meditation, doing the mitzvot, having faith, you can come to the highest level of knowing Hashem. So, the answer to the question, how can we know Hashem? It's a process. First, we have to meditate about the greatness of Hashem. Then we got to do the mitzvahs, the commandments God wants us to do, faith in Hashem, just doing what Hashem wants, and then we'll reach the level of vi'yadata es Hashem, to know God.
