an anti-semitic acts in Florida all the way from Israel tonight how a new law that hardens punishment for anti-Semitism protects you one of the problems that we've seen in some neighborhoods will specifically be targeted these anti-semitic Flyers are now considered litter so law enforcement can do something about the people who spread them then I beat Sasha Patel joins us now live from Naples and Asha how are people going to be penalized if someone throws a flyer on someone's lawn and that flyer is intimidating or threatening that could be a misdemeanor but if that flyer has a credible threat that's a felony and unfortunately Southwest Florida has been seeing hate crimes in the past in the most recent one was just a month ago hateful Flyers like this circulated in the Park Shore neighborhood in Naples back in June 2022 and most recently this guy Cape Coral Police Department says 51 year old Marin Mark Raymond was arrested for throwing bricks at a Jewish Chabad Center in Cape Coral and smashed a car in the Parks I also spoke with Rabbi minkowitz who is a rabbi at the Chabad Lubavitch of Southwest Florida to get his reaction to the governor signing this bill he told me he is thankful that the governor and law enforcement have their backs I think that it's really really great and the people in the community feel that the government is behind them backing them protecting them people feel more safe and secure you know in life you want to feel safe and secure and has one message for anyone even thinking of committing a hate crime and yet we're living in Florida we're so blessed the weather is good there's beautiful Parks there's beautiful beaches go out and enjoy life I mean while I make trouble and bother other people it's sad people generally speaking my experiences when they bother other people they're miserable themselves insides so my heart goes out to them I pray for them they should find peace and happiness and they shouldn't have to resort to going out and bothering other people
