Welcome to our class on this. We're
going to be learning a beautiful
discourse. The name of the discourse is
called Basus Tu. The Reb said this
discourse on the 13th day of the month
of Tish
which is the anniversary of the passing
of the Reb Maharash.
Reb went on to certify and edit thisic
discourse in the in in tre in honor of
of honor of the holiday of the year
which is 49 years ago. So again theic
discourse is based in the verse in the
Torah where it says
that were commanded to sit in the for
seven days
every native born of the Jewish people
we know the questions that are asked in
the discourse of the of the we have to
understand the double expression and
know it says
for seven days who is that command to
all the Jewish people so why does it
Israel every native born of the Jewish
people sitting a suka it's a double
expression also we have to understand in
the general idea of the mitzvah of suk
seemingly there's an there it's there's
opposites here why because sitting in
the suka has to be tu
to sit like you like you dwell there
know every single day of the seven days
of sukot you make your suka that becomes
your comfortable place that becomes your
default place where you hang out. You
see, you eat, you eat there, you sleep
there, you hang out there, and you don't
really hang out much in the house. In
other words, just like throughout the
year, where's your main dwelling place
in the house? You do everything you need
to do in your house.
So, that's the way you're supposed to
sit in the suka. And know you should
make your suka that this is the place
that's that's where I hang out. This is
my place for these seven days. That's on
one hand. But on the other hand, the
whole idea of building the suka is a
temporary abode.
In other words, it's actually part of
the condition of the mitzvah of suka.
And matter of fact, that's one of the
reasons why if you have a suka which is
higher than 20 amote is disqualified.
And one of the reason is because until
20 that's a temporary abode. But once
you already going building up, that's
already an established abode. And a and
a suka has to be a temporary abode. But
nevertheless, what are we saying? that
you have to sit in the suka like it's a
permanent dwelling. So, so seemingly on
one hand we want we have to sit there
like it's permanent but then they have
the structure has to be one of
temporary.
Now when it comes to the mitzvah suka
there's another idea we need we need
clarification.
The suka we know is a positive
commandment that is cont
constricted to a certain time. Besides
the fact that the suka is a set time,
it's also set in a space cuz you have to
have a place which is appropriate for a
suka. For example, if you make a suka
underneath the tree, it's like you're
doing it in your house. It's not
appropriate for a suka. However,
when it [clears throat] comes to or any
other any other any other holidays, so
we find limitations only in time, but we
don't find that there's a limitation in
terms of the space. take pes it has to
be in a set time it doesn't be in a set
space and here suk is unique that it has
to be in a set space okay in
continuation of the mitzvah of sitting
in the suka where it says
so then we have the mitzvah of taking
the four species like the verse says
you should take on the first day
the four different species and the
mitzvah of sitting in the when does that
start right in the second the starts
and afterwards and a continuation to
that in the morning when you get up at
um when when when the when the the sun
rises etc. So then you have the mitzvah
of of of taking the four species and
because the mitzvah of the four species
is specifically by day. So what do we
see from here? That the mitzvah of
taking the four species has a connection
to the suka and especially like we know
that the there's different levels in
doing a mitzvah. The mitzvah and mk the
the the highest way of doing a mitzvah.
The preferred way of do doing the
mitzvah is that you take the four
species in the suk. So we see there's a
connection between the four species
with the mitzvah of you have to sit in
the suka. So we have to understand the
connection between these two ideas and
know the mitzvah of suka and taking the
four species
specifically in the suka and because
seemingly
they're two different mitzvah those
mitzvah of suk is for seven days however
the mitzvah of taking the four species
the main mitzvah and biblically is only
the first day also we know that there's
a difference between the beta mikdash
and outside the beta mikdash and like
the the the the tells us the uh the the
the in the institution of the zak and
from and that the way it's a difference
between the the the the first day and
the rest of the days. So and and there's
a different that come out that apply
even today between the difference
between
the first day and the days afterwards.
Now in the four species itself we have
to understand why were these four
species picked the lulash and the raot.
Now, even though what they do have all
in common that they're from the from the
part that grows. So, you may have things
that grow, but [snorts] nevertheless,
even though they have one thing in
common, they all have to grow, but
they're they're each unique. They're
each different. And the and every one of
them has to be in a way of they have to
be beautiful. Like it says you should
take pre-age and the Talma tells us that
this now referring to the to the is
referring to all the species even though
it says specifically been referenced to
obviously applies to all of them. Now
besides the questions we just brought up
we know what Kazal tell us that the
reason why Hashem gave us the mitzvah
was to refine us and let's explain many
many places the purpose of the mitzvah
to refine us. We should come refine
people. Besides the fact that the main
mitzvah where we know it says when you
say the blessing we say
God sanctified us with his commandments
and he commanded us and we are doing it
why to fulfill the command and the will
of Hashem.
So that's in general but in addition to
that every mitzvah has a specific um
lesson and message to our spiritual
service with God. And the same thing
also with our spiritual service in the
holiday sukot. Both the mitzvah of
sitting in the circa for seven days and
the general idea of to take on the on
the first day biblically at least the
the the four species. And same thing
also when it comes to the sim the joy
that we have to have when they pour the
water in the temple. And today obviously
suk sha and every one of these
components the suka the four species the
the joy and sukasa has something which
applies to us on a spiritual level which
is basically to refine us and the same
thing also applies to to the the day of
now even though on one hand it's its own
holiday but nevertheless it's still
called the eighth so obviously it has it
has a connection to the seven days
before and not only that and more than
that Not only does have a connection to
sukkot and just like literally when you
come to the to the eighth day. So in
order to get to the eight you have to
have seven days beforehand. But the same
thing also on the spiritual level of
know even though the spiritual service
of the 8 day and together with comes
after
know means it's obviously higher than
the the the spiritual work ofot but
nevertheless what causes us to get to
the level of
is the spiritual work of the seven days
before that. So, so, so what do we see
from there? That what happens through
the spiritual work of Sukkot which that
causes and that creates to us to have a
higher level of serving Hashem which
when we reach to the level of what of
okay so in order to understand all the
services and he's explained as follows.
It says in the in in the verse
you shall blow is referring to
you blow the then it says
covered up it's covered up for the for
the day of the holiday
is referring to what it's referring to I
like to explain many places and that's
why it says
what does that mean all the ideas that
were they were covered up and concealed
before the holiday and especially things
that were covered up and concealed in
Russ because in reference to Rash it
says clearly
and matter of fact it says the the the
day of you're going to come home which
referring to and that's and and and
that's why he says you should blow as an
introduction to
so everything that's concealed
throughout the month of more
specifically in the holiday [snorts]
[cough]
get gets reveal forkot and like the
medra says that when what happens rash
we don't know who's going to be
successful hashem giving us a good year
or not but when the Jewish people go out
and they're holding their and they're
holding the then we know the then we
know that the Jewish people are
successful in other words what happens
on sukus is it gets revealed that we
were successful and the way that's
revealed to everybody up [snorts] to the
point that the whole world reels A whole
whole world sees that we're successful.
Now even though the success happened in
Russ like the Medra says look at this
nation that we know Hashem who he is and
Hashem [snorts] we know that Hashem is
going to do a miracle and we're all
going to be successful in our jud
judgment. So obviously we know for sure
that Rashana we going to have we have
we're going to be written we were we
were written for we're written and
signed for a good year. But the ultimate
goal is that the that the that the that
the success the written and sealed for a
good year shouldn't just be written in a
concealed. It should be revealed and
that happens
as it says but whatever was concealed.
Yeah we were wonderful. We we got a
great year committed to us but it's
concealed
gets revealed. So the success that took
place in the concealment
comes out in the revealed way and then
we come to the highest level. Now
[snorts] that's an introduction. So get
in other words whatever happened before
it's concealed. Our success gets
revealed on sukot.
Now yum kipper is also called in the
verse in the prophets and like it's
explained in the Torah and um in the uh
other other books. So y kipper we know
is in the 10th day of the seventh month
and in the beginning of the month is
[snorts] the is of that of that month is
rash and so so you see y kipper is
connected to rash a it's called that in
the verse and it's also connected to 10
days later more than that kazal tell us
that it's called the 10 days between
rash and kipper so you see that rash and
kipper is part of the 10 days and
they're basically the same idea so
therefore what do we see from here the
yum kipper
>> [snorts]
>> get which gets drawn in everything that
took place in rash. What does that mean?
So explains in he says as follows that
yum kipper is all about drawing in the
soul and in an internal way and since
enjoying it in an internal say the word
in Hebrew in a pimeute an internal way
that's very very important. So obviously
everything else on yum kiper is all
about pimeas. Yum kipper is all about
internalizing. Now [snorts] also this
drawing in of yam kipper we're
internalizing it but it's also concealed
and when does it come out where we see
it in a revealed way that we're
successful and up to the point where
it's like totally revealed that
obviously happens in the holiday which
because all about what's the idea of
what's joy is all about revealing and
when does it get revealed it starts the
process ink
which on the 15th day of the month as
You know on the 15th day of the month
you have where the moon is complete. So
know what's saying now that is connected
and what's the whole idea of it should
be internalized and that happens in what
does it get revealed? It starts on and
it gets fully revealed onto.
So based on understand why we find the
connection between blowing in the
chauffar and sukkot because we know that
the which is basically the covering of
the suk and a matter of fact the whole
suk is called based on the covering the
and like the alter explains in the
Jewish law and the laws of sukkot that
the suk is called based on the based on
the covering and know besides the fact
that the suk is the main the covering is
the main part of but in thek That gets
that's the way it gets expressed the
whole idea of and we and we find that
which is the name for the covering is
made up of three letters
and sak numerical value is 60 is 20 and
another cup is another 20. So you have
60 20 and 20 you have 100 [snorts]
which basically corresponds to the 100
blast that you blow in rash. We blow 100
blasts and the 100 blasts that you blow
in rash is connected to the that's the
numerical value and what's the reason
because since what's the whole idea of
of sukus it basically it draws in rash
and basically rash every all the
blessings come down through blowing the
through the blast but then it's
concealed and then it gets revealed
totally in the holiday in the
so that's in terms of the connection
between and and and and andot and the
same thing applies to Kipper because we
know that the is compared to the clouds
of glory like coins opinion that of the
of the one the Talmud that the the the
Sukkot were they were basically they
were clouds of glory and matter of fact
the brings in in the laws of Sukkot and
where does the clouds of glory come from
it and actually comes from the so first
he showed the 100 blast is connected to
the numerical But also the yum kipper
the the the incense that was brought is
connected what to the holiday of sukkot
and what does that mean explains it this
first everything gets drawn down rash
through the the blast gets drawn down we
can have a
written and seal for a good year and
then it gets internalized yum kipper and
this drawing down the yum kipper what
happens what through the through the
clouds of glor glory like it says
that the the the the the cloud of the of
the incense went over the the the the
holy of holies and in general through
the spiritual work of the high priest in
the in the holy of holies and from the
the highest service kipper of the of the
incense comes we are into this the the
covering of the suka because the suka
the covering of the was made from the
clouds of glory so based on this says
we'll understand the explanation and the
the point of everything we brought up
before what does that mean like
What is the spiritual work on yum kipper
in the holy of holies? So it took place
on time in a set time the 10th of the
month and and what and and and what is
what is yum kipper called? It's actually
called
it's the one day of the year
and just like in time it's one in time.
So the same thing also in the soul level
and in the world which is basically
space. It's basically one in time in
soul and space. Now there's the work
that happens through the coen
[snorts] which he's obviously the
holiest and he's actually the one
there's only one high priest of the
Jewish people and like it says clearly
the Torah says byem
separated
to sanctify and to work in the holy of
holies and the work in the holy of
holies which is the place the holiest
place in the world and even higher than
obviously the bet mdash itself now on
these three components of the world the
space, the the holy space, the time and
the year and the soul that is the
foundation of everything that exists in
the whole world like it comes down from
its source and that and and and from
this is actually the foundation of what
it says in safety for these three
components up to the point and then and
and from here it goes from its source.
these three levels where it comes down
to space, human being and and and and
and and and time. It comes from the way
it was created from the essence of the
infinite part of Hashem and like the
author explains in the
essence
the essence of the creator and the
essence of the creator is someone that
created himself and it's not because of
something that caused it to happen. That
is the only power and the ability to
create something from nothing literally
from nothing. [snorts]
And that's what happens on the one day
of the year and in in time in space and
in soul that everything gets unified
through the spiritual work of the of of
the of the high priest in the holy of
holies and it connects to the essence of
Hashem that brings it back down that
energy into
which uh which means smoke but it's
abbreviation forum
space time and the soul and from this
level of oneness
which happens anum kipper. So kipper
told about this oneness oneness in
space, oneness in time, oneness in soul.
But then it gets revealed when in Sukkot
like the like explained the Mishna in
the in the work of Yumiper that the the
high priest would wait in the holy of
holies until it was full of smoke and we
said smoke again isan which is
world time and soul and from this smoke
which is the spiritual work of the
oneness that's how we have the the
covering on the holiday sukkot now
so [clears throat] What is it all about?
What do we explain that yum kipra is all
about the oneness and the oneness gets
connected to suka now goes on to say the
beginning of the of drawing down this
the light of oneness it actually started
in rash why because what's our work in
rash
we're making god king over us that we
draw down the kingdom of god from the
from he snatch us from the highest level
of god himself in other words the way
god is in himself And that should be
revealed. We want God to be our king.
What the essence of God. And when we
draw down God to be our king. He's going
to be a king over us. Then when God
becomes a king over us, he becomes
actually a king over the whole world.
Now when God becomes a king over us, the
way kingdom is, it's not God forbid
forced. It's Barza in its will.
And it's not only God's ruling over
everything, but the main point is he's
doing it. He's doing it from from he
wants to rule the world because he's the
explains that when it comes to ruling
there's two ways to rule. You can rule
by force and if you don't have a will
but when we go ahead and we say to
Hashem we want you to be king over us.
We're we're drawing down God in the
whole world and all levels and the level
when we reach the level of let's come
down let's let's bow down prostrate
ourselves to Hashem we want you Hashem.
So that what happens in rash then on the
10th day of the month then we
internalize that oneness through the
spiritual work of the gul in the holy of
holies and and and and and in that one
level of time and afterwards in sukkot
what started in rashashana continued in
kipper comes revealed place in sukkot
there there's a success that happened
starting from the from the success that
god becomes the king over us and god
rules the whole world and he and Not
only that, even a higher level that that
we accepted willingly. We want God to be
a king of us. So then it gets revealed
and and not only to us but to all the 70
nations of the world. And that's one of
the reasons why in the holiday we
actually bring 70 bulls for the 70
nations of the world. Now this drawing
down gets revealed where how does it get
revealed in the four days between yum
and so even before started between the
four days
in the beginning by learning tora and by
doing mitzv what kind of learning the
laws of and learning the laws of the
four the four species because when you
go ahead and you learn it even though
we're in exile and even though that
we're not we we we not all the details
apply to us. But what happens is it
happens like like like like it says in
when you learn to
when you learn to you connect to
everything. So even though you don't
necessarily do something learning
connects you and when you go ahead and
draw that it should come down in a
revealed place by learning to then it
gets it comes down to the level of
action by doing the mitzvot and
obviously it's still in the level of
action the mitzvah but then it comes
down into the whole world that the whole
world sees the way a Jew goes ahead and
does a mitzvah until it comes out like
it says in the medish that have the
nations of the world know how great the
temple was for them. They would actually
surround it with protection because it's
actually for their benefit. And this
impact of the mikdash on the nations
when does that happen? It happens in the
holiday in a revealed way by bringing
the 70 bulls for the seven nations like
explained at lens in different drum of
the kazal. Now based on we just learned
that what is the whole idea of suka?
It's connected to what to one day a year
it started and then obviously deeper in
and so that's in terms of time and also
what in space the space of the holiest
place in the world and the soul level so
now we'll understand why when it comes
to holiday it says
every native
born of a Jewish per person like the
kazal tell us that it's possible
for the whole Jewish world, everybody,
millions of people to sit in one suka.
Why? Because oneness is revealed in
sukot. You can say how is it possible so
many people in one suka different
dominations etc. And the answer is
because sukus is connected to which is
all that one is and and oneness gets
revealed in the holiday to explain says
we understand it well we understand it
um based on what it says like this and
like it's explained actually in
different discourse of the different
that why is it that we're saying that
the whole
Jewish people can sit in one because the
verse says
everyone of the Jewish people. So the
question is we learn out from which part
of the verse that's the second part of
the verse. The fact is the first part of
the verse says
so we can say we can learn out that
everyone will sit in one suk why do we
have to learn from the second half of
the verse and what's the explanation the
general explanation is like in the in
the language of kabala that in the
beginning we're beginning which means in
the beginning before god created the
world before there was any contraction
before there's any tsum so what happened
was the infinite part of hashem took was
all over the place and therefore if
hashem is all over how can you create a
world you
It wasn't even a possibility to create a
world. What happened? Hashem went ahead
and in the language of Kabala,
God was all over create a world. So he
basically created an empty space. He
moved his life to the side
after he moved to the side came down a
circle and then came down a line and
like it goes into length all the
different levels the way he came down
from there. And like it's explained in
and um other places and like it's
explained also in the books of now this
this idea that God was all over the
place before the contraction of light.
So what is that called in in it's called
the infinite part of of God is there and
up to the point
[cough]
that you're able to have some kind of
connection with the world. But since the
infinite part of Hashem was all over the
place, so you couldn't create a world.
But even over there, even in that place
where the infinite part of Hashem was
there and therefore there was not a
possibility to create a world there, you
create an empty space and you're able to
create a possibility
and that you can say that you know that
that in that place where you couldn't
have had a world all of a sudden you can
have a world and even on a higher than
that like Kazal tell us before Hashem
created the world what existed only
Hashem and his name even on this level
already you have details You have you
say what existed Hashem and his name. So
it's Hashem and his name. There's
different levels and and and and and
like we say that the revolutionary part
is that this level was there was there
was there was an existence. So and like
it's explained in discus before this one
said that
however the essence and the imprint upon
Hashem is even higher than this. So even
in this space so with one hand we're
saying you couldn't have the world then
he went and create an empty space you
couldn't have the world what was there
his name and etc. [snorts] But Hashem is
much higher than all these levels and up
to the point you can't even say to
Hashem that he hovers over the world and
he and he hovers over from a distance
etc. Why? Because the essence of Hashem
is not
not part of all these terminologies and
levels up to the point besides him
nothing else exists and higher than that
it's only besides him nothing else
exists he's only no anoid there's
nothing else the only thing that exists
is hashem
when can you say besides him there's
nothing else when there's a lad you say
there's nothing else besides him but on
a higher level no there's nothing
besides him and like it's explained
elsewhere that that this little nuance
that we say you know there's nothing
there there's nothing that's in the
radar now since the Jewish people what's
our source not in the empty space not
even in the in the light that exists
before the empty space our source is in
the source of the Jew is in the essence
of hem before any levels and even
possibility etc so obviously we have a
connection connection
since that's our source. We have a
connection to that source and we can
actually have an impact in the essence
of Hashem even on the way he's on a
level of the higher than than infinite
and even higher than the level of him in
his name. And that's why Khazal tell us
when Hashem came to create the world who
do he consult with about creating the
world but the souls of the righteous
people. What does it mean he's
consulting?
[snorts]
He's consulting because obviously
they're they're in the high level and
even in a place which is above above
above space because sins
[clears throat] on the highest level
it's it it Hashem doesn't have to create
the world. It was his will. There was no
forcing him. So obviously even on that
level they were Hashem consulted with
them. So therefore he can say that when
Hashem consulted it's even he's
consulting even on the highest level
before he even had a plan of creating
the world. And that's why he says who do
he consult with the souls of the
righteous of sadikim.
And like you know who is a sad you say
oh it's only righteous people. No says
when we say he consulted with the souls
of sadikim it's all the Jewish people.
Why? Because it says the whole nation is
aim because every one of us is sourced
in the
the essence of Hashem and therefore we
reach to the highest level. Now this
Hashem consulted is even like what you
call like a like a a lower level soul on
so to speak on if you want to create
levels and like the the famous parable
of the the the mag that he he gives it
an example of a of a father and and and
his young chun a young child and since
he gives the the analogy so to speak of
a of a of the father like so to speak to
God so the same thing also that young
and older was the same thing to him
because compared to God, what's the
difference bigger and small? There's no
such thing. But that's what Hashem
wanted. He wanted to the the souls of
the Jewish people and every one of us is
a sadic and every one of us has a
connection with the in part of Hashem.
And that's why the source of the Jewish
people is in the essence and infinite
part of Hashem. Now
since
it's now in the beginning of the year
and we have to bring down all the levels
of all the worlds and all the spirit etc
from new and now it should come down but
it has to be revealed. So how do we how
do we bring it down? You got to go to
the one. We got to go to the highest
player. We got to go to the highest and
drawing this down. But not only drawing
it down, it should be revealed. When
does it happen? It happens on sukot. And
that's why what is the what is a
spiritual work of sukot has to be
specifically we need one suka.
Why one suka for everybody? Because the
suka of oneness is connected to the
spiritual workinger on all three levels
of nephesh space soul and time because
when we go ahead and do the spiritual
work of suk of one suka what do we reach
we reach the one hem where hashem is
higher in any levels and since we have
nothing else to call him and that's why
we call him one to the essence of hashem
what does one mean [snorts]
one means
>> [clears throat]
>> oneness and like it says in the Talvot
and the the name you oneness
it what does it mean it it receives from
the from the oneness of Hashem so the
same thing also in reference to sukah
one suk which basically is connected
idea the oneness and since the suk is
connected to that level so therefore
it's able to come down since it's
connected to the oneness of god it's
able to come down to this world that we
can all sit in one suka because sukas
we're all about no divisions. Why?
Because the source is in the highest
level. And from this reason, what
happens? What gets drawn down into the
suka even into this physical world on
the lowest level? Because when it comes
to when you're connected to the essence
of Hashem, there's no higher and lower.
There's no hierarchy. So know when
you're when you're playing with higher
and lower and more important, less
important, guess what? You're not
connected to the higher space. But when
you're connected to the oneness of
Hashem, it's all good. It's all good.
It's all about oneness. Now,
drawing down the essence of God, not
conceptually. Oh, there's one God. No,
no, in a real way, in a real way. One,
when is that going to happen?
Unfortunately, when Msiah comes, that's
ultimately going to happen when Msiah
comes. Because what's going to happen
when Mashiach comes? Like the prophet
tells us,
God's going to be revealed.
Everyone's going to see the flesh is
going to see there's only one God. and a
higher that like it says in the prophet
there's not going to be any more
protection over anything
you're going to see we're going to see
like explains in so that's going to
happen when Mashiah comes but even
higher than that there's the level of
oneness what does that mean so that's
when Msiah comes no in a higher level
what's oneness when you're able to bring
oneness into this physical world and
therefore what the the the greatest
revelation of this unfortunately is
going to be when Messiah comes so based
on this understand why Kazal told us
that this that we're saying that we can
sit in one we learn it out from the
second half of the verse not from the
first half
of because when it says
in the for seven days that's referring
to the work in the um uh in the sixth
millennium that that we're living in and
and in this world that we're in we still
don't we don't have yet the the oneness
seven so it's different different levels
that We don't so we that we don't have
the oneness. It's there's levels but in
that but and that that level of oneness
is really going to be Mashiach comes but
that's when you learn
because what does Ezra mean? So Ezra has
multiple translations. One translation
of Ezra is is going to be is referring
to the future what's going to shine in
the future and like it's explained in
many discourses. When we say
you're already thinking about the future
and the future it's really oneness
and that's also applies to the laws of
that the the the letters of asun
which ezra is from olive refers to the
future and that's why he says ezra what
the ol in the future we're going to have
one is and that's where we're all going
to be able to sit in one suk and that's
where we learn it now from the second
half of the verse but nevertheless even
so you can say, "Oh my gosh, let's wait
for the future." No, no. Even today, in
the six millenniums that we're living
in, what what what shines here is a ray
and it shines from the oneness of what's
going to be like in the future. Not only
that, the re the revelation of the
oneness of the future comes
just like all the revelations of the
future comes through our work, our work
and our actions specifically now. So
what do we see from here? that even
today we have a taste an array of the
oneness and that's why kazal tell us
that it's possible for all the Jewish
people to sit in one suka and it's
referring to not in the future today
because even today we have the
possibility that everyone can sit in one
suka similar to what's going to be in
the future when mashia comes now this
the mere fact that we could sit in one
suka to sit there we learn from where
kala ezra which we say is an idea of a
future
know as we take the power and we take
from what's shining in the future where
it's all about oneness that we should
have the revelation of the essence of a
god like it says
there's not going to be any more
concealment concealment so based on what
you what we just learned
we'll understand also the way the the
spiritual worker and and there were
things as follows just like we find when
it comes to the order of learning tora
and doing mitzvah
mitzvah given in a way of I'll say in
Hebrew I'll translate clo the general
idea and is all the details you know the
beginning you have the general idea and
then it comes down in details and the
same thing also in a spiritual work of
why is that because becausera
um is is obviously in is complete has a
lot of lot of details in the Torah like
it says clearly in the Torah there's 60
um queens and 80 uh um eight servants
and there's a resistance unlimited
amount. So in this verse where it says
60 80 and unlimited. So Kazal tells his
fellows that 60 is referring to the the
the queens referring to Mishna the which
part of the Talmud and 80 is referring
to the bright totes different parts
different parts of the Talmud and then
all the ones that are infinite it's all
different teaching and all different
insights etc and but so that's all the
the different the multiplicity the
details but before that you have the
Tory you have the written the written
law and then and like like it says like
it says in the Talmud how do you know
how do you where does it say this in in
in verse means you have to go back to
its source where you have the general
idea and this is the whole idea of toyra
the way it's in all all the details we
still have to go back to source but then
you have the way to basically is a is a
general concept the general concept
that's all given us from from from at
Sinai and when we say the the the
general ideas and the details but so
first was first what was given is
general ideas and then you have details
for example the beginning we receive the
ten commandments and in the secondly
it's only ten commandments but in the
ten commandments was already included
all the details of the Torah and not
only that but the ten commandments
itself was included in the first two
commandments of I am God and gods like
it says
and these two command com general
commandments of I am God is all
connected to the one first word where it
says which is the first word of of the
ten commandments and in the anoi itself
the alif is is the abbreviation for the
world and in the olive you have the
general idea of the whole because what's
the whole idea of an olive olive is a
general idea like it says in the that
the the with the utterance of
is connected to what it says is here
and we know that with the explanation of
what does mean so one means one but if
you break it down so the the eight is
referring to the seven heavens and one
earth and the four the four corners of
the world and the one that's beforehand
is referring to Hashem himself and like
explained in the Bah name of and and
other places etc. So what do we see from
here from the
which is connected
that's the general idea of the whole
Torah. So, so we see that toyra is all
about the general idea and then the
details. The same thing also when it
comes to the spiritual workshot
that beginning it comes down the general
idea and then it goes down to the
details. Why? Because we know in
reference to which is basically the the
general concept. So kazal tell us what
is the mitzvah of it's blowing the now
even though it's an awesome day. It's a
holy day but we have one mitzvah
and in the mitzvah itself all the sounds
are kosher for because the mitzvah of is
one thing Judaism is simple it's one
thing yeah there's details but it's one
thing blowing the shaur even an
intellectual and explain the mitzvah
which basically it's it's hard in the
details like the rama writes what's the
whole idea of blowing the shaur it's a
biblical commandment which means when
we're saying it's Biblical commandments
it's higher than comprehension. We could
comprehend it but it's higher than that
because when it comes to comprehension
there there's the there starts and it
ends and there's details etc. However,
when it comes to blowing the it's higher
comprehension it's a it's a it's a
biblical commandment which is higher
than that. So that's what we see the
same concept the general idea of it's
all about blowing the you have details
same thing also when it comes to
spiritual work of yum kipper. Now even
though there's a lot of work I mean you
read the mak there's so much things that
happened in yum kiper but what was the
one unique work that took place in
yipper it was all about the incense
and and and and this spiritual work took
place where in the holy of holies in
those a work b it was one place in the
world and when was it in one one one
time of the year and who was it done by
the one one high priest which is
basically one the level of us all and
not only that the The toyas the incess
has to be in a way that has to be
totally refined. Now even though
generally speaking all the instance has
to be refined but doesn't come to the
level the refinement like like the one
day of the kiper one day of the year
because then it's totally it's called
daka totally in a refined. So we we what
the goal is because we want to get to
the main point and then it comes down
yeah in details and the details itself
goes into more details and gets and gets
re revealed and and then and and then it
comes down to where it starts coming
down into the holiday because what's
basically all about
and drawing this down is higher than
details because the fact you look at the
covering there's no details in the
walls. It's it's is it's different but
and and and and and the way it comes
down to into the sk like its name. What
is means it covers over the person up to
the point that it covers where not where
it's close to you but it's higher in you
and and and it creates actually a shade
but not not it creates shade. It creates
concealment. It covers up not not light
in revelation but specifically then when
you have more shade than than light then
you're fulfilling suka but afterwards
you have to d you have to bring it down
in you have to internalize it and that's
why it says when you sit there you have
to actually dwell there you have to
bring the shade of the suka into every
part of your life in all details of life
and then then you make every part of
your life a mitzvah in other words even
though
throughout out the whole year. We need
to uh serve Hashem. Like it says
where everything I do, I have to know
Hashem. And a wise person is noticeably
a wise person with the way you eat, the
way you drink, the way you conduct
business and the way you interact with
people. However, when it comes to
holiday sukot
just from doing the mitzvah without
trying to find the sh and everything
when you do it in the suka, boom, you're
fulfilling the mitzvah of sitting in a
suka.
Even though you're eating, you're
drinking and business like drama says,
but nevertheless, you're all doing in a
suka. And afterwards, you have to bring
and draw this down this oneness of the
suka that that's that that's g which is
going to shine obviously in the future
when Msiah comes. Like we said before,
your soul. We have to bring it down in a
deeper level which which we internalize
it in our soul and that's why we take
the four species because we have to take
it and in a way that becomes mine and
you bring it you shake it again against
your chest and then you bring it into
your internal heart or like the
expression is in the in the female part
of of Zah which basically standing in
the chest and but the goal is like
explained the discourse the goal is to
go ahead and internalize it in a real
internalized way. Now based on we just
learned by going ahead and taking the
four species we're internalizing it.
What are we internalizing the oneness?
It's all about bringing the oneness in
that which which basically started after
Rashashana and then in Yum Kipper
through the through the through three
levels of oneness in in in in space the
holy of holies and the the time one day
of the year of Yum Kipper and the soul
which is the high priest and afterwards
we bring into suka. So we understand
that when it comes into into all the
details by to four species knows what
gets noticed
even though it's four one even though
it's four you got to stay focused on the
one what does that mean explains as
follows like we explained before at
length
[clears throat] um the in theic
discourse of a of the of the rebarash
who were celebrating his yard site that
um in the the four species what's
noticeable in every one of them unity
because in the lulav so it says
so capo is written without of and what
does that mean and we learned that it
has to be capo what does that mean that
even though in the lulv you have to have
multiple leaves a little is not one one
leaf there's multiple but in order to go
ahead and fulfill the mitzvah you have
to keep them um connected and um every
leaf itself is is two that that are
together because the goal is it's all
about unity a leaf has two parts but
together all the different branches
together and that creates that that
creates something which is really really
complete and that's so in the you see in
a revealed way you see unity and the
same thing also when it comes to the
myrtle theim because it says what does
it mean they have to they have to be
three on three on one level they have to
be on the same level you have to have
three that's true but it has to be on
one level what does that what does that
represent one level unity and that's why
it's called anaf in a singular way and
and obvious which they come together
because all about unity. The same thing
also when it comes to willow ar. So it
says they they grow together because
they grow in unity know even though
they're they're they're willows which
they're out there but nevertheless they
grow together and they they're unified
and which which represents the whole
idea real power of unity and not only
that and which obviously is more than
more than everything says we see this
this idea of unity which we said already
the rabbis we see it in the rogue and
that's why it's it's actually called
it's first in the verse because it says
What's the first thing it says take is
the prehog.
Why is that? Because it says in the
Talmud that this says prear is referring
to. Why is it called? Because d comes
from dwell. It dwells in the year from
the whole year from all through seasons.
And as we know when the year you have
different different seasons from one
extreme to the next and the asteroid it
tolerates all them. And brings something
very very powerful that the previous
adds another main point. Not only does
the eric tolerate all them, but it
actually grows from them. And he brings
a proof and something very very powerful
because since it it dwells in a place
where it's like it's very very hard to
dwell there because God would get ruined
because it is growing. So what do you
see from here? That not only that it
tolerates, it actually grows. It grows
from every part of them. Every season
adds to its beauty and that's the real
unity of Esreg that everything gets
unified and they we take them all
together and we matter and and from here
we learn from the Esh we learn out for
all the other three how you need real
unity and the same thing also you have
the the unity in the four species on in
our spiritual serving of Hashem because
we know what it says in the medish that
the four species of the of the lulav is
referring there four types of Jewish
people starting from the type which is
the asteroid which has has taste and has
smell which taste and smells referring
to learning Torah and doing mitzvot up
to the level of the willow which doesn't
have not taste not smell not smell which
means no Torah mitzvot and you have to
unify all the types and when you unify
everything that's when you do the will
of hashem and then that's why it's on a
literal level through unity you of the
of the four species and and and and
especially in the beginning y in a way
of you have to be joy celebrate in front
of hashem and that creates um real unity
afterwards in a spiritual work um
throughout the whole year. So we take
away from sukuses unity will give us
unity for the rest of the year. So based
on what we learned we'll understand all
the details of before and the connection
of taking the four species and
specifically in the suka and also in in
the order the way it goes and after you
go ahead and you fulfill the mitzvah of
basuk in other you go ahead and you
internalize the idea of of the oneness
of suk. Remember it start one is all
about one. You internalize the oneness
and it gives you the power to see it and
it gives you the power of of oneness.
The way it comes down in this world um
[clears throat]
[snorts]
be even before we're going to have the
ultimate oneness in the future when
Msiah comes. But afterwards you go ahead
and you take the four species and you go
ahead and you internalize it. And when
you internalize it, you reach the level
you can reach the level the highest
level of sim and like to explain that
length through the
who was celebrating his yard site that
through the four species we create real
sim of drawing the water with joy
because the fact is even in water there
there's joy. Why is that? That's that's
that's that's revolutionary because
generally we say where's the joy come
from? Wine. You drink a some nice wine.
Ah this brings joy. But when we do our
spiritual work
and we take the four species and we have
real unity, we can affect that water
that you pour the water and water will
bring you joy. Normally you're right,
water doesn't bring joy. Wine brings
joy. But when you when you when you go
ahead and you're focused on unity, even
water will bring you joy.
Up to the level it says whoever saw the
joy of never saw joy in his life and the
contrary. Um in order to see joy in your
life, you have to take and you have to
go ahead and take energy and you have to
comprehend from where from which is
basically the source is all about unity
and that will give you the greatest joy
and that's why it says
for seven days sit and then the verse
says
all the Jewish people will sit in the
and after you have the spiritual work of
blowing the rash and and yes you're
bringing down the one spirit it's
concealed. And then you come to the 10
days between Rash and Kipper. And in
reference to those 10 days, it says,
"Search out to Hashem when he's
available. Call him when he's close. And
by saying it, it's it creates an
action." And it hap it happens in a
literally that we we literally call to
Hashem and we reach out to Hashem and
that creates an afterwards in the four
days between
Yum Kip and Sukus and Torah testifies
that every single Jewish person is busy
learning the the laws of Sukkot and
doing the mitzvah of Sukos and after the
proper preparation these four days you
have the holiday of Sukkot and with all
the spiritual insights know the making
of the sukot. It's part of the mitzvah
like the alter right that in in in in
Jewish law that the reason that that we
don't we don't make the mitzvah on
making the but it's not the end of the
it's not the end of the mitzvah and um
we make the that's on the making of the
sukah we then we come to the holiday of
and we fulfill the mitzvah itself that
we sit in the and what happens the next
morning right in the morning
or you have the mitzvah of water taking
the four species
You take the four species, the the the
etrog, the willow, the the myrtle, the
the the
rabbis and we go and we celebrate with
joy in front of Hashem up till we come
to the level of real real joy that we
have the great joy of um the level where
it says that whoever did not see the
didn't see real happiness in his life
and then we're going to merit that very
very soon we're going to have Ezra
everyone's going to sit in one suka
literally not only be fitting to sit in
one suka because we're going to have the
redemption, the true redemption, the
complete redemption, true msiach, and
we'll have fulfill the the mitzvah of of
of to be happy in front of Hashem in a
complete way and biblically because
we're going to have the fulfillment of
the building of the base of mikdash, the
third temple, the temple that that
Hashem is going to rest in there. It's
going to happen very very soon. And they
were finished up and he says like this
Messiah should come take us out of
gullis out of exile bring us standing
upright to Israel. We're gonna and he
should build the base of Mikdash in its
right place. He's going to gather the
Jewish people and Hashem is going to be
the ultimate king. And with this
introduction, we're going to have what
it says that Hashem is going to
transform the whole world to speak in
unity. And we're going to serve one God.
And it's going to come down in a
revealed way by bringing the 70 bills
and the holiday. The number finishes off
so powerfully and beautifully. Kain ton.
This is how it should be for us. And
most importantly, the kur mishap very,
very, very soon, very, very quickly.
Here we have another powerful, beautiful
discourse that will hopefully, God
willing, give us a tremendous um
spiritual energy to celebrate the
holiday of of Sukkot. And like the says,
the ultimate goal is to have the oneness
that's going to be in the future. We
should start experiencing it right now,
to be able to get along with everyone,
have real happiness, real oneness, and
that will bring us to the greatest, the
most powerful sim. I want to wish
everyone have a great week
and we should all experience the
greatest like there ever finishes off of
the coming of Msiah. Next class will be
have a great and blessed week.
