a true Visionary with global impact sums up Rabbi Yak alexin he has done things and gone places where no one has gone before he is making a mark and lasting impact in unchartered territories he serves as an Oro a beacon unto the nation spreading illumination and righteousness everywhere and anywhere the Karen ha do idea was his alone and he nurtured it relentlessly into a global movement of Good Deeds he galvanized morale material and political support for Israel he cares greatly for the helpless ignored neglected and rejected men women and children especially the elderly and Holocaust Survivors Rabbi Xin and his staff are strategic partners of kabad he is personally involved in all of our activities especially in feeding the poor and elderly it is with great pride and profound gratitude that we present the netak Israel award to a man of vision courage achievement and humility Rabbi Yak alexin please join me [Music] the award reads netak Israel Award presented to Rabbi Yin Visionary Pioneer Beacon to the world K kabad Awards dinner December 2014 Rabbi Xin thank you very much um I try each year not to miss this dinner I'm leaving in a few hours home for Israel and then a few hours later I'm traveling to the Ukraine where we are bringing 600 Jewish refugees on Aliyah thanks as well to the help of kabad I sometimes wonder what this world would have been like without kabad without the rebi who inspired so many schim like rman and like the people that you see up up here and his presence and influence continues long after he is gone there are two Mitzvah two times when there's a Mitzvah to light a candle one is chabus where the woman lights the C candles and brings in chabus and the candles represent Shalom B Peace in the home the second Mitzvah which we're going to do tomorrow is where we light the light of kanah ISO on the one hand it's for each family within but at the same time we put it at the window Puma I want to tell you that there is so I don't have to tell you there is so much pain pain out there in Israel there is so much embarrassing poverty that Israel is at the bottom of the oecd in the difference between those who have it and I don't mean who have a yacht who have food and basic necessities and those who don't frankly my friends it's a Shanda but kabad is the light the light of Shalom B that they bring to the home children single mothers who have what to give the children elderly Holocaust Survivors children in need families in need kabad is the light and not just for the family for ner shes so but for the world kabad and forgive me kabad as a whole is the light that brings warmth and vision and meaning and Life to millions of people all over the world and so in light of the situation in Israel and the former Soviet Union which is worse than it was a couple of years ago when I first started to come to these dinners and our uh our gift has increased year after year and I hope that's true of each and every one of you that whatever it is that you planned to give when you came here double it do another 50% I want you to know that there are thousands of Christian children who donate to us and like the ketos who are here who came all the way from Maryland to be with us thousands of kids who are giving up their Christmas presents in order to bless the Jewish people and help them in our time of need I think we all can do better and in light of that fact I am pleased to say that whereas our contributions in the past were a million dollars this past year we contributed $3 and5 million to K kabad andem we're going to continue that even more in the future auten Young
