you have to have some in your life you have to have some in your life you have to have all of these things and in order to fit all of this T into your life you have to have some type of program and that's in essence what is starting off with [Music] [Applause] [Music] we are back here on our new week new week more and more from series tonight's sh is going to be for [Music] the and all of am and all all of the righteous Noah that continue to support and donate and help us with all the amazing things that the organization is doing anyone that wants to donate can donate at be.org b z r a t h a s h m.org I'm sure it's going to be on the bottom of the uh video tomorrow when it's uh on the YouTube and the app also those that haven't downloaded and subscribed to the AI Rabbi uh app You're simply missing out amazing answers that certainly you will need in your day-to-day life it's not just uh what to bless on such and such or when to pray such and such but rather even the personal questions that you don't really want to tell uh somebody uh you don't even want to tell your local Rabbi you're uncomfortable asking those questions or perhaps you don't even know who to ask those questions the AI Rabbi could ask you could ask it and the AI Rabbi can give you the answer you can download it at air ri.org uh and also for those of you that enjoyed the new promo video for our uhar posters to get to your community you can get them at Ro store.org for free we even pay for the shipping as long as you are located in the US if you're located outside of the US then you'll have to pay for shipping if you want them and if you don't want them bad enough then there's nothing we can do there's just so much we can do [Music] family [Music] so with that being said we're going to get started there's a lot of Tora to learn and has has told us that we have to protect our minds protect our eyes protect our behavior and really all of these are uh for our own benefit not uh not for his benefit not for's benefit but rather for our own benefit and one of the main ways that you can tell somebody's learning tah versus someone that's not learning tah is their mood you know if they are permanently depressed if they're constantly down then you know that this person is is not learning toah because the ultimate cure for depression is tah and that's actually one of the things that the yet the evil inclination wants a person to get into he wants the person to get into the world of depression after they make a sin after they make a mistake after they go in the wrong direction and they realize that they're in the wrong direction the evil inclination is going to convince them that there's no way back there's no way to return to a you're gone you're a lost cause you're a loser you're this you're that but that's all a lie because the's ultimate mission is to destroy you just like all of the idolatry of the world is there to destroy you whether it's the belief in uh Yos and this fake religion from the New Testament or it's the heretical murderous religion uh that uh comes from uh the Saudi the uh the Arabians over there or it's from any other heretical belief system all of them leave people in one place which is depression if you want to have happiness happiness is not a physical thing happiness is a spiritual status happiness is something that you either are or you're not now how is a person going to be happy if they don't nurture their soul how is a person going to be happy if they don't feed their soul what the soul actually needs now the beautiful thing is is that when you have to you don't have to ask you know about things that are going to make you happy or not as far as far as how much money or how much some other material if you have t you're going to have happiness now that doesn't mean you're not going to have difficult time that doesn't mean that you're not going to have a ups and downs in your life but the feeling the feeling of happiness is simply being able to pick yourself up and to keep pushing and to keep going and to ultimately be satisfied with wherever you are because you know that hem is with you now of course RAB has told us about all of the things to protect ourselves but there's nothing better than the uh you know the day-to-day schedule day-to-day schedule of what do you do what do you do if you want to have all of these if you want to have this life of tah what do you do of course you have to learn toah now the obligation to learn toah for a Jew is obviously uh not a suggestion it's an obligation it's a Commandment that the Torah says that you have to learn Tah day and night uh the rambam says that uh aside from your eight hours of sleep and your eight hours of work the rest of the time uh you have to uh you know you have to dedicate to learning tah and somewhere in between there uh you have to take care of your personal needs but generally speaking a person should learn toah no less than what he works now unfortunately in this world today this is more like wishful thinking for anyone that's not in the K you know if you're working if you have a business if you're working for a company they demand a lot of time from you uh you know to work not only during the schedule of when you're actually at the job but also after after you go home you still get phone calls at 10:00 at night of uh certain uh forms that are needed and certain papers that are needed and all of these other things that are needed and if it's not the work then it's the wife the wife needs you she needs you today because she needs you to eat together with her and she needs you to take care of the kids and she needs you to clean uh some room that nobody else wants to clean and she needs you to get the groceries and she needs you and certainly she's she she rightly you know deserves to have you to a certain portion of our life but then after you did that then the kids need you the kids need to play with you the kids need to talk to you the kids need to learn with you okay so fine you did all of that and then you have to take the kids to school well taking the kids to school why can't anybody else take them to school because it's your job to take them to school apparently because that's the life that you've structured for yourself so you say go fine I'm going to take the kids to school and I'm going to play with them and I'm going to take them back to school and then I'm going to talk to the wife and then I'm going to eat with the wife and then I'm going to take the wife to the store so she can get another bag because she doesn't have enough bags in her collection of 400 of them and then I'm going to get some shoes too because just in case the shoes don't match the bag no no no we have to get the shoes that match the bag and then if we don't have uh if we have a bag and the shoes then of course we need a dress a dress to match the shoes and the bag and if the bag doesn't dress it doesn't match the shoes and the bag done oh y yo yo yo we're going to start saying kadish kadish on everything kadish on the whole event we're not even going to the event if we don't have a bag and a shoe and and and a dress that all match together and guess what at the end of the day they cancel the event okay but we have this dress and the shoes in the and the in the bag for the next event Noom we have to get a new bag for the next one so what ends up happening in the average person's life is if they're going to fulfill every so-called need that the world requests of them they're never going to have time to learn to they never going to have time to breathe let alone to actually satisfy their you know of their lacking of learning T this is why having a schedule having some type of a program is of absolute necessity and it's not just for the uh for the man of the house to do but it's also for his wife to know that he has to do it for her sake for the kids sake for for their family sake and if a man that does not have a study program is a person that's probably not going to study so you have to make sure that you have some type of program and that's in essence what starts with and he tells us that we have to be diligent in our set of program of Torah study meaning not just study whenever you get a chance study whenever you have time study when uh when nothing else has to be done or when you're bored or when everything else is just simply not working and electricity is off and simply the internet is off so now you can finally study no study is something that has to be part of a program part of a program people make programs for their eating for their drinking for their exercising for their working for their financial planning for their accounting for for everything in their life to make a program but they don't realize that the ultimate program of studying is of Paramount importance if you want to get anywhere if you want to get anywhere if you want to know what to do in life if you want to have any type of of Direction in your life you have to have a diligent uh program for your Torah study that's in essence what begins with be very diligent in your set program of Torah study which you should begin immediately after rising from sleep and having recited the midnight prayer hold on a second he's not talking about your daily program in the morning he's talking about something that's for the higher level Learners this is not for everybody so some of the things that is going to tell us here are for people that are more advanced and I don't mean more advanced that they have a higher IQ or that they are uh more religious than you but rather people that have already been learning for a long time people that have already uh accustom themselves to making Torah study a part of their life a fixed part of their life uh to such an extent that they cannot have a day without having a few hours of studying now if you are in a beginning stages this midnight part this part is not for you so if you're a woman this is not for you if you're a child this is not for you not because you're not good but just simply because this would not fit your life where you are and a person has to know where they fit and where they stand one of the main things that causes people to lose direction is simply not knowing where they stand not knowing which direction to go they try to play with the big kids when in reality they're barely surviving in the small kids they're trying to play play and do what the big sadim are doing because they heard from a Shure they heard from a story that a certain Rabbi didn't sleep for two days and was able to study so they want to do it and they heard that a rabbi was fasting a few times a week so they want to do it they heard from a rabbi that he already studied the cabala when he was really young so they want to do it they don't realize the story is there to give you not to give you instructions and when you take the story and you take the things that you hear as instructions for you personally without consulting with your Rabbi you're going to go in the wrong direction so is digging deeper into our daily life and delving into the Torah study regiment that everyone should have but here he's referring to people that are already advanced we're going to speak about that as well as the vast majority of society now although the beginner may feel uh a little bit left behind oh wait how come I can't study at night how come I could do it I don't sleep all night anyway no no see that's the thing it's not it's not a big deal for you to just simply not sleep all night and just go study at 12:00 at night that's not the point there is there is a there's a living regiment that goes along with the study regiment and we'll get into that in a moment as well but the key of this Sher is going to be to give every single person whether you are Advanced learner like some of the rabbis and the that watch our lectures or you are an average person or be absolute beginner or you're somewhere in between this year will give you Tools in order to understand what to learn when to learn it and who should learn these specific things in order to succeed in your life because many times I get questions from people that are generally in a beginner stage maybe in middle ground but they're asking Advanced questions and not realizing that the advanced answer is not going to suffice why because they don't have the tools yet in order to truly understand the advanced answer so first and foremost tells us we have to have a tourist study program meaning you have to make time to learn your tah you have to make time now before we get into the whole part of it we have to know that if you want to be anything in the world of spirituality you have to have Torah in your life you have to have Torah study in your life and in the beginning watching our lectures as your sole source of learning is good as long as you watch every day for at least a couple of hours a day you're good but after you've done that for a while you have to start adding some books to it that doesn't mean you stop watching the lectures because if the lectures helped you in the beginning to get you to a point of studying from the books the lectures are going to help you even in 10 years from now when you've already finished many many books because obviously your n your soul has connected to the lectures this is the mistake that many arrogant people make when they learn a little bit which they consider a lot and then they think okay you know what I don't need to watch the lectures anymore I'm just going to study from the books and then they find themselves lowering their all of a sudden they're looking for different leniencies in their uh you know in their behavior all of a sudden the fire that they had in the beginning is gone and they don't realize why you know why your source of fire disappeared so yes you're learning from the books yes you're learning yes you're learning that's all good but if you don't have the original source of fire that got you there then guess what you're missing a key ingredient and in page 31 says a person that learns the entire Tor to the point where he knows the Mish by heart if he does not have he does not have fear of Heaven to is worthless the tat that he has is worthless why because if he doesn't have you for sure he's going to violate the T he's going to use the T to violate the so a person has to know that learning T first and foremost has to be part of your life second of all learning tah is no longer bound to your linguistic limitations meaning what language you speak because today the Torah is translated to countless languages and the main part of learning to is to understand what's being said not what words are you're using in order to uh to read the Torah meaning many people spend an enormous amount of effort learning Hebrew but learning Hebrew is not necessarily learning toah especially since most of the Hebrew that's being taught out there is the uh modern day spoken language not the Biblical Hebrew so which means that it's actually not going to help you at all and and in many aspects of the Tora it's not going to help you in learning it's not going to help you in understanding the verses in the Tora it's going to understand you maybe have a conversation if you want to order a f or you want to order sh or perhaps you want to do a business deal or you want to buy a house in Israel it'll help you for that but as far as learning T learning Hebrew in itself the modern day Hebrew is not going to help you learning Biblical Hebrew will help you but not on day one because on day one you need to know what to do and you need to know why should you do it now for most people what to do before why you should do it doesn't work so they need to know why they should do it why should I do what the rabbi is saying it says in the book why should I do what I read in this book why so first you have to learn that the Torah is authentic the Torah is legitimate Torah is from God whether it's the written Torah or the oral Torah these are the words of the words ofm whether he said them through or through the sages or and T are one everything else is fake whether it's the New Testament the Quran the Buddha the the the the the Pikachu the uh Power Rangers all the other stuff it's all fake only thing that's real is to now if you don't if you're not quite there to believe that then there are special lectures that we've made that can address those questions you have to prove that the Torah is legitimate it's from God and there is nothing else that's real out there there's no competition there's no like the Torah is number one and then there's something else that's number two no there just the Torah and everything else is fake so if you are brand brand new that's the first series of lectures you should watch go to our YouTube channel go to our app and there's a playlist for you there's a playlist for beginners over there there's Torah and science videos Torah science and ancient wisdom there's a bunch of uh lectures over there there's the signature of God film that we've made and that's where you start now if you've already advanced by and you already realize that Torah is from God and everything else is fake that's good so now that you know why you should do it you need to know what it says you need to know what it says so certainly learning from the lectures is very good because the lectures are provide you many sources of the words that I'm saying to you whether it's today's or next week's or last week's I'm providing you sources and over time as you gather notes as you write down some of these things some of the bullets some of the things that stand out for you you can look them up oh he just mentioned the let me see I have the set that I bought and I never opened it even once let me see let me open m Shabbat and look at this page and see what it says and you'll see exactly what it says over there oh he also said oh let me look at let me see which page he mentioned and I'll go look over there oh he mentioned oh let me look up over there oh he mentioned oh let me look over there and today there's also a lot of things that are available for free online that uh you could read up if you don't have the books and of course you could always ask AI Rabbi if you're asking if you need some type of qu some typ of an answer some type of source you can go there too either way the lectures help you know what to do but as you grow from the lectures you have to add some books you have to add some books because the books are more difficult but at the same token the information you will acquire from the book since it was it required more toil more effort to finally find that diamond that your Nish was looking for that specific spefic Time of Your Life it'll also remain with you for longer because you see the Torah is not something that you acquire because of your level of IQ your the Torah is gifted to you as a result of Hashem seeing your effort if hasem sees you toil he will give you more diamonds more diamonds of Torah that are needed for your n some of the diamonds that you will learn today from let's say this week's par even even though you've learned the parasha 2 3 4 5 10 20 times you still never heard the ones that you're going to hear today that's because for the last 10 years it wasn't the right time for your Nish to acquire those diamonds but today you deserve them that's what Hashem decided on the other hand if a person just skips and thinks that no you know what I've already been watching lectures for a couple years let me just go to cabalistic books what cabalistic books have you finished the do you even know what the is do you know how many in have you completed have you completed any from the have you done anything other than watch lectures to go and jump straight to cabala you're kind of making a mistake of a lifetime why because not only are you not going to learn you're going to get confused as a result and many people go and jump into what they think is the cabala thinking that that's going to advance them not realizing that's going to take them a few steps back if not ruin them all together there's actually a guy that was and this is happened unfortunately many times and uh a guy that was doing amazing was helping people was teaching people B chba transformed his life he decided that he doesn't need a rabbi to tell him what to do he's going to delve into different cabalistic books literally within just a matter of a year or less the guy went from being somebody that was learning tah teaching tah helping people do Chu to a complete complete heretic AIC that AED just went against them and told them that he's not even counted in a minan he's literally the worst of the worst in he's in the same category as yos that's how bad why he put his hand where it doesn't belong so person has to know that you have to know where you stand now if you're a guy a Jewish man you have to learn toat every day not just when you have time not just when it's convenient if you're a woman you also have to learn every day but not as much but the learning that the man does is different than the learning that the woman does later on in the beginning everyone starts the same in the beginning everyone starts first off know that the Torah is real know that the Torah is from God know that the Torah is 100% the truth and there's nothing else everyone starts the same way in the beginning after that they go into the lectures everyone goes into the lectures perhaps a little bit of books Sometimes women are more inclined to read than men but nonetheless everyone goes starts in the beginning stages the easy books where this the direction start changing is when the Men start becoming more advanced they've already learned many lectures they've already have accustomed themselves to making Torah as part of their life now they're going to start going and learning something more advanced they're going to start learning if they're not yet the Rabbi says they're not yet ready for gar then certainly they can start learning other books of course if have to start with the Kash the the the five books of Moses that's the first thing first book everyone has to read with commentary and you start with it and you never finish every year you do the same thing you fulfill the of the which we spoke about last week you read the weekly uh twice and then you read the commentary once commentary either by Unos or by Rashi highly recommended to uh start with a uh with Rashi because that's going to give you a little bit more information more more than just the basic translation of the verses it's going to tell you some behind the scenes some M some uh things that a lot of people enjoy but also are necessary to know why certain things happened now after a person has accustomed themselves to learning the weekly par from the K they're already regular they're already used to it they're already doing it then you start adding some more books sure you could have some simple books that were written by either this generation or previous generation about about about all types of things that interest you but then at some point you have to have some you have to have some in your life you have to have some in your life you have to have all of these things and in order to fit all of this to into your life you have to have some type of program and that's in essence what is starting off with we're going to get into the details of the suggestions of what program each and every person needs to have but of course the one sze fits all doesn't actually fit all some people going to need different than others some people have more time than others some people have more uh knowledge than others but we'll get into that a little later but just to get you guys all started there has to be a uh a program the women are going to focus on in their life they're going to focus on the uh laws of modesty the laws of the holidays and by laws I don't mean going into the details of all the Pim and all the different opinions and know what and says and what the modern contemporary Pim said versus the previous p and how this no I don't mean that I mean the basic laws like y uh like a uh uh something that is going to tell you uh yes or no on certain things you need to know the laws of Shabbat the laws of the holidays certainly laws of modesty those are the things you need to know of course family Purity every woman has to be an expert in family Purity if you don't know the laws of family Purity for sure you're going to make sins that are unfortunately if you don't know the laws of family Purity you're going to do things that are the worst of the worst so you need to know the laws of family Purity now men do not need to learn this until after they get married or right before they get married they need to Lear some Basics at least but the point being is is that what the man is going to focus on in his learning over his life is much much more extensive than women women are going to focus on M and the these laws that I just mentioned meaning character development and the basic laws of how to live a day a Jewish life men are going to focus on M weekly par of course but also things that are more than just a day-to-day laws things that are even pertaining to laws that will never actually come to fruition in your life like the of the bet mikdash or the laws of the uh you know of what happened to theim even if you're qu different things you're going to learn a lot why because this is going to sharpen your mind all of this is going to sharpen your mind now of course there are ways to learn from every law even if it doesn't pertain to you directly the point being is is that all of this is an enormous amount of information and it seems overwhelming and it is if you think you're going to learn it all in one day or one year or even one lifetime but the point being is is that if you want to succeed you have to have a program now for those of you that are uh not Jewish your main focus should be character development musar musar is the main and only thing that you should learn now you could learn M from the weekly parha the weekly Torah portions the tanak and you can learn M from lectures like this and there's certainly many books of M that are available for people to read and learn how to develop themselves the one problem that I see uh many times with people that are noahides is that they like to listen to things that they already agree with meaning that if I say something and they already agree with it they'll do it but if they disagree with it then they'll throw everything into the garbage point being of if you're going to listen to T you're going to listen to teach T you have to take the good and the good meaning it doesn't matter whether you think it's bad or not it's always good if it's coming from someone that learns Tah it's good but if you're going to delve into the world of Torah and delve into different teachers and like as if you're going into a vegetable store trying to make a very uh very elaborate salad you're going to be very confused when like the rambam says that uh that noahides are not allowed to keep Shabbat he wasn't saying it because he doesn't like noahides he was saying it because that's the law of the now if you want to keep Shabbat convert to Judaism simple you don't you want to convert to Jim don't keep Shabbat but that doesn't mean you can't take off of work and just simply relax go to the beach go to uh I don't know go on vacation sleep all day whatever it is that you want to do the point being is you can't have the uh uh the Jewish laws that are not applicable to you because you like them you have excuse me you have to take the Torah at face value your focus has to be character development if you find yourself learning a lot of character development but still your wife is complaining about you still your husband is complaining about you still your kids are complaining about you that means that you're learning a lot but you're not applying anything you have to find yourself applying these laws applying these teachings if you're not applying these teachings then what's the point if it's if you're watching it like it's the news if you're watching it like it's a uh some type of TV show you're wasting your life you have to apply these things to your life one of the ways that you can tell that uh that uh these uh these laws these uh these teachings are actually affecting your life and you're applying them properly is if you're finding yourself getting along with people even if you don't necessarily agree with them on everything but you find a way to make peace because the Torah makes peace if both parties are of Torah mindset but they have different different opinions about certain things they'll find peace if one is against the Torah then of course there's no peace as who says to the prophet Isaiah Shalom said no peace to the wicked but if both people are Torah minded and Tor life then you will find a way to make peace with them but if you're finding yourself fighting everybody including the people that are in the same team people that are in the same world people that are in the same belief system that means that you are not applying what you're learning to your life there's something wrong and you say no no maybe they're not applying you're right maybe they're not applying but for sure you're not applying either why cuz it takes two to tangle if you had enough you'd find a way to make peace so back to what we were saying it's critical to have a program now with kids it's much easier because most kids go to school so the school so long as it's a decent Jewish school will have have a program for them of course they should also learn some with their parents should also learn some at home we'll get that to that perhaps later or maybe another time when I do my show about uh raising children but the point being is is telling us we have to be diligent in our program of Torah study now he takes it a step further for those Advanced Learners and he says which you should begin immediately after rising from sleep having recited the T the midnight prayer what do you mean midnight prayer once a person has accustomed themselves to learning toah to such a point that to is the air they breathe if they don't learn a sufficient amount of tah because not learning toah for a day is just simply impossible but if they don't learn a sufficient amount of tah already it changes their day it changes their life it changes their mindset it changes everything such a person that wants to elevate themselves even further if it's agreeable and advisable by their Rabbi they could even take it a step further by studying at night now studying at night doesn't mean you just stay up all night and all day and never go to sleep studying at night means you have to have a schedule where you go to sleep early and then you wake up at midnight now midnight doesn't literally mean 12:00 at night midnight could be even 1:00 in the morning it could be a two but you study at night it depends on your location and time of the year but the point is midnight the is a special prayer that uh we do as a uh as part of our crying over the destruction of the bet mikdash now this is not an obligation but certainly a strong recommendation for those that can for those that are at that level now the uh whole point here is what is telling us is to make sure that your Torah is on such schedule that it's on your mind when you're awake when you're working when you go to sleep and immediately when you wake up regardless of when that time is regardless of whether you wake up early in the morning you go to work you got to do what your think or you're waking up in the middle of the night to go study to before you start your day to do other things to has to be such a permanent fixture in your life that it's always on your mind and one of the first tools that tells us is use this use this book The never remove the from whatever book you're studying even for a moment whenever you sit down to study recite which begins please God as well as the prayer over the Torah study found in Shion prayer book which begins I desire to study try as best as you can not to interrupt your Torah studies even with other thoughts except for thinking about this which should always be before you for The Light Within it will help you improve see here the for the first time really is telling us that this book that we are doing a series about this Katan is not like most of the other books that you're going to read in your life that are you know dense extensive and many times a onetime read until you get to it a second time the is obviously you study it like we're doing initially but then after that it's a constant review it's a constant going back to it to see how we can get some more kuk be reminded of some of the things we learned in sh number two or sh number five or sh number seven or sh number 15 or whatever it was go back to it to get that for that in order for you to get that Fire Within lit up again here he's telling us that no matter what you're studying whether you're studying Pim which is the the the highest level of learning is the is learning the the P how they come up with different not just what the law is but how to get to the law by evaluating all of the opposing opinions all of the seeming contradictions and a different from different Generations which one to choose why to choose one over the other why is sometimes something mentioned in even if it's not the law itself so a person is not going to get to that level on day one or even day two or even day three but the point being is is that regardless of which level a person is in whether he's in the beginning stages of learning the Kash or he's just simply trying to be focused to watch a and take some notes down or he's learning or he's learning uh the whatever it is he should have a next to him this is similar to what the raan said about his 750 years ago he wrote the for his son and he says you read this read this every week read this every day and you'll have a lot of blessings some people literally read it every day some people read it once a week but certainly it's a must read not because it's the law because it's a very very good recommendation from one of the greatest we have had same concept here it's not the law to have the by your side next to every book you don't need to buy 50 uh 50 copies even if the publisher will be very happy I'm sure if each one of you bought 50 copies the point being is is that to have some book like this which there are there isn't one exactly like this other is very good why because it will serve as a reminder especially for one that has watched this series that has studied this intensely and now wants to keep that within them as they continue growing in tah now didn't just become because their father was a or they grew up and they had a good yes the literally prayed to hem for their number one wish for their number one desire which was to learn Tah and to understand it that's what the wanted in the he writes as follows Master of the world full of compassion and love have mercy on me and help me rise each night at midnight let me wake from my sleep and overcome my tiredness let me return to you in perfect chuva and recite the prayer the midnight prayer with a truly broken heart to mourn over the destruction of the BET mikdash and to pour my heart out over my sins against you from the days of my youth until today for my own sins have prolonged the Exile please send me pleasing words and prayers from Heaven that I may appease you and may I also find in myself point points of goodness here the is telling us what he's yearning for he's yearning to please hem he's yearning to truly feel the destruction of hashem's house in this world the bet mikash now even though he's a sadik even though he's a Torah scholar look at his attitude over his own ways he's talking about his sins he's talking about his flaws and he realizes that every single Jew is responsible for another Jew and therefore every time you do aah you help all of every time you do a sin you hurt all of not just you hurt you or you help you each as the M says helps all of each sin hurts all of and here he says whatever sins he did in his level which certainly is not the sins of somebody that is a uh you know newly Bal Chua or someone even that's uh not uh uh you know a uh Torah scholar the sins of the Torah Scholars are very different than the sins of the average person but nonetheless he's saying his sins certainly are one of the reasons of why the Exile has been prolonged so so here you see how the attitude of theim is so different than some of the Heretics today that say that uh you know foolish things like God needs you and uh he's going to say I'm sorry to you and all types of other nonsense that they make up in order to please the public and become popular here is one of the greatest is telling you whatever sin he made at any point in his life even in his previous life certainly hurt am he wants to do chuva for it now that type of attitude that type of humility is a prerequisite to become a vessel in learning tah if a person wants to learn tah wants to be gifted the Torah that they're learning and to understand what they're learning to be able to have their soul connect to what they're learning the more humility the better the vessel that humility starts with removing that arrogance of thinking that you are something special or that you're entitled that the world owes you something or all types of other things that people have further in he writes this master of the world which means you know in English we say it or transliteration I say Hebrew Master of the world I tremble in fear to begin studying the holy Torah this is a prayer that he saying before he learns tah for how can a mouth as blemished as mine speak words of the Holy Torah and how can eyes impure like mine look into the holy Torah or my ears which have listened to l hear the holy Torah or my mind which has been sullied by forbidden thoughts think about the Holy Torah I fear that you will say to me wicked man why do you recount my statues and mention my Covenant with your mouth for the offerings of the wicked are an Abomination I fear that I have lost hope in God yet my heart tells me why do you sleep rise and cry out to your God for he Lo longs to show mercy and does not desire the death of the wicked but only his return that he may live so already you see the attitude of theim was a world away from your average person out there where they did not view themselves like we view them they didn't view themselves as tadim why because they knew that the more Torah you know the more details you know about the Judgment the more particular Hashem is going to be with you also this person is going to say wait so maybe it's worth it not to learn no because if you don't learn then you'll just simply be Wicked and you have no hope whatsoever the point being is that the sikim knew more about hem and the more you know about the glory of Hashem the grander of Hashem the Holiness of Hashem the kindness of of hem the literally endless good of Hashem the more you realize how much in debt you are how much you have to do and even if you did as the wrote a thousand years ago even if you took all of the Deeds all of the good that all of theim have ever done it would not be sufficient to pay back for a single moment of your life in so many words we can never pay back AEM what he gives us every moment but needless to say that does not mean that we're not in debt just because the debt is Big doesn't mean you can't pay anything just if you owe the bank a billion dollars and all you have is a $100 payment ah what's the point I'm not going to pay them anything you may think that but the bank doesn't say listen I know no you owe us a billion you don't have a billion to pay us but at least give us the hundred bucks you have at least shows that you actually care same concept here had a completely different attitude about their relationship between them and hm they realized they were in debt in severe debt and that their actions that to the average person may seem like not even a big deal that he looked there that was he wasn't supposed to and he touched there that he wasn't supposed to and he ate that that he wasn't supposed to where the average person today ah come on does God really care about all these small things apparently he does because he says it in the Tor and theim literally cried about it on a daily basis and that's what made them sikim the one that is considered a sadik is not because he's perfect but rather because he knows his owner and he does everything and anything possible to serve his owner to the highest possible level and all begins with learning Torah because the more tah you're going to learn the more you're going to realize how great Hashem is and the more you understand how great ashem is the more you're going to serve him better but also realize how much inbt you in so continues and says God not in my own Merit do I plead to you but in your great Mercy alone for you are a forgiving King and your right hand is outstretched to accept Bal Chua May It Be Your Will my God and the god of my fathers to open a path beneath your throne of glory and accept my chuva in my prayers have mercy and forgive me for all the sins I have committed from my youth and till today whether in this Incarnation or the previous Carnation do not cast me away empty-handed in your great compassion hear my prayers for you hear the prayers of all put my tears in your flask May the words of my lips and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing to you God my rock and my redeemer see here the gives us a perspective a perspective we don't have but at the very least we have to Aspire to get to and for those that are of breast who are very dedicated to the Tora of R of bre and raban you'll enjoy this in the in in the first section Part 12 he writes as follows please God let my Torah study be an elixir of life like a medicine of life as the says in and several other places if you study Tora in order to apply it to your life it'll become a medicine a cure for everything but if not it becomes a poison meaning a person that learns to not to apply it not to use it for the good but rather to make fun of it to disregard it to contradict it that Torah is actually going to be the poison and destruction of his life and you see it you see the Heretics what ends up happening with them how their path ends up any way the says as follows let my learning bring me back to your genuine perfect chuv to you in genuine perfect Chua you're talking about a sadik here a sadik is asking is pleading is crying to hem on a daily basis to please accept this chuva meaning that chuva is not something that you just do one time you stop violating Shabbat you stop eating on Kosh then you're done chuva is a lifelong daily mission everyone has to do chuva every day regards of where they stand it all begins with learning to let my learning restore my youth like an eagle and give me back the times I have spent in such intense Darkness from now on let the Merit and power of the Holy Torah Shield me and protect protect me from every kind of sin and transgression and from all wrongdoing both when I am actually engaged in my studies and at times when I have to interrupt them let the Merit and power of the Torah give me constant protection and save me from every kind of sin and wrongdoing just as you have informed us through your holy sages who said that the Torah Shields and protects both while one is engaged in it and at times when one is not let my Torah study bring a flow of Holiness and Purity into me and from now on let me sanctify and purify myself the way you want me to for my own good see here you see the one of the great destroy the belief system of Manis fredman and his followers and his copycats Wu Jacobson and some of the other uh Heretics out there that shall remain nameless that keep insisting to the public the convoluted understanding that they have of to that God needs you because he gave you mitv and therefore he needs you here one of the greatest is telling you saying God needs you is not it's it's heresy why look at one of the greatest here one of the greatest saying all of what I just prayed for is for is for my own good for my own good not for your good you're perfect there is nothing Hashem could ever gain from us everything we do is for our own good the better we serve him the better we benefit more we benefit he doesn't benefit so anyone tells you no that's well apparently the don't say that so not sure what you're talking about but it certainly is not part of Judaism now is telling us here that this Torah study program has to be something that is a permanent fixture of your life if you at the level of doing even starting your study at midnight fantastic Ma and all the good things if you're not no problem studying as soon as you can in the morning in the afternoon but the point being is make time to learn T and as much of it as possible despite the responsibilities if you and your wife do not understand the Torah is no less important than oxygen the Torah is no less important than money Torah is no less important than the most important things then you're not going to get Torah into your life and I've heard unfortunately many people tell me that yes they used to learn a lot of Torah but then they married a woman that was wonderful that was from that was this that was that but apparently didn't really care for learning tah not really sure how FR a person could be when Torah is not a priority in life I guess it's more from of just simply the looks and the dressing and the eating but if you're not learning tah you can't be from why because if you're not connecting to your God on a daily basis learning more about him learning more of what to do then what's the difference between between you and some Buddhist that is serving his Idol on some Mountain a person needs to know that Torah is as critical as air in order for you to fit that Torah into your life you have to start turning everything around and make everything fit into your Torah schedule so if you want to learn let's just say four hours per day and you know you don't have a block of four hours straight that you can learn then you could split it up you could learn two hours in the morning and two hours at night if that's too difficult then you split up an hour here an hour there and two hours there try to learn at least two hours in a row that's always very good it's the uh when you learn tah for a consecutive period of time the quality of toah increases drastically but regardless if you can't learn four hours it's too much for you it seems like a uh going to Mars may be easier than learning four hours okay fine start with two hours if two hours seems like it's going to Mars to you then start with one hour and if one hour seems like it's going to Mars and you then perhaps you haven't learned the first part we spoke about in the beginning of the Shure which is the Torah is real the Torah is from God the Torah the written Torah the oral Torah scientific proofs archaeological proofs rational proofs every perhaps you haven't learned that well enough to make you realize that you need the Torah not the Torah need you and if you want to have success in anything else that you want in your life you need the to Now by success I don't mean more money I don't mean getting uh more things that certainly can happen success I mean having blessing where whatever things you get whatever money you get whatever company you get whatever job you get whatever marriage you get whatever kids you get they have blessing tied to them where you're not getting a bunch of asvs as kids kids that call you by your first name and literally curse you out people like that rather have not kids rather rather it's better off not to have kids or you get married but you get married to a woman that tortures you day and night woman like that is better off to be in G that's what the says a person that has evil wife if he's with her his whole life he won't have to go to Gom why because she's literally putting him in Gom every day or he has a job and he makes a lot of money but every other day he has lawsuits every other day people literally spit on him because he's his job is the worst he causes people anguish like he works for the IRS he works for the amalik he works for all types of things that perhaps make him a lot of money but everyone hates him so having a job and making money in itself is not success having a wife and then children is itself not success plenty of people cry in their messages that they send me telling me that yes they have stuff but they're miserable they're miserable now there's plenty of people bem that have taken the toah that we've taught over the last decade applied it to their life and even though they have difficult difficulties through the difficulties they tell me Hashem is great Hashem is amazing I know he's going to help me I just need some guidance of which direction to go or what to do in XYZ but they never lose hope they never become depressed they never get to a point where H I give up certainly there's ups and downs but they're always cleaving to hasem they always know where the source is where the source of blessings where the source of solutions are so the problems exist but they also know that Hashem is the ultimate Doctor whereas the people that don't have AEM in their life they don't have toah in their life they have the problem and every problem no matter how big or small makes them feel like they're hopeless [Music] the ruven AI speaking here let me be very clear about Shabbat it is the foundation of Judaism [Music] it's really Bree this 13-year-old no shame whatsoever he belongs perfectly in the time of the Tower of Babel time of Noah [Music] so tells us Torah study is something that requires to take priority over everything else you have to learn toah every single day this is also one of the good things for those that are a little bit more advanced not absolutely newbies they that have started learning it's also good to do the da not because you're going to cover a lot of ground with the D each day you're going to cover one Duff but rather because the DUI also learns teaches a person how to have a certain regimen have to have a schedule and is it's fantastic to do if a person does not cover enough ground every day a DA would be very good as long as a d is a quality D not just you know joking around and hanging out but the point being is is that a person has to have some type of program some type of program for their CH for their Tor further the says that in order for that t that you've already made a program for to actually engrave it s into your n you have to connect chuva to it meaning you have to do chuva you have to repent each and every single day before you learn this is actually exactly what the ramban said in the uh before you learn T before you pray do chuva repent to hasem realize you've made some mistakes today whether you realize or you don't realize start off with saying I'm sorry to Hashem that you're not better that you can do more that you haven't done enough that perhaps you're more excited about your business meeting than you are about the next D the next D perhaps you're more excited reading an email from a customer than you are from your Rabbi perhaps you're more excited about getting your next vacation than the next campaign to help poor people in Israel say I'm sorry to Hashem for being that way start off your day with Chua start off your learning with chuva because the more a person humbles them themselves before their creator the more they're making themselves a better vessel a purer vessel that the Torah that they're going to learn in the program they made the one hour a day the two hour a day the 4 Hour a day the whatever hour a day the more that Torah is going to want to be there the more the Torah is going to want to be there then R says try your best not to interrupt your studies even with other thoughts except for thinking about this which should always be before you why shouldn't you why what's the what's the concern what's the concern of interrupting your learning first off on a logistical aspect of it if a person learns to but their phone is next to them and they're looking at messages every two seconds even if they don't answer the messages but they keep seeing the alerts for sure their focus is going to deteriorate drastically every call they see on the screen will seem like it's an emergency even when it's not and the more they react to it the more the Satan is going to send them so one of the things it's not only good advice but also save you from some of the things I'm going to say after that a person has to do is to disconnect all of the distractions whether it's the phone or whatever it is go to the BET midash go to your study room wherever it is that you study lock the door shut off the phone disconnect from the world everything can wait yeah what if it's an emergency you're not the police you're not the hospital you're not the fire department they can call them if it's an emergency everything else that is something you can do something about can wait now that is hard why because the yet is going to tell you what I'm saying is wrong because you're different because she's different because they're different because that is different a person has to know the yet is going to do everything possible to distract you from learning Torah consecutively he's going to do everything possible because if you learn Torah without distraction the level of tah and kadus that will be created from it is a world away from interrupted T in fact if you ignore what I'm saying here you have to understand that when a person takes their mind away from tah while they're learning it's considered a disrespect to the toah and the toah is like a very holy special Royal woman a queen a princess now the daughter of the king cannot be treated like some girl off the street the daughter of the king if the king gave her to you and he hears that you're not even paying attention to her or that you're looking at other women then guess what you'll have the Wrath of the king to deal with and this is not my interpretation this is what thear says a person that learns tah and then takes his T attention away from the Torah to go deal with Idol issues things that are not to related there's a special place in geham where they're going to feed them hot coals C which are called that because they never go out the daughter of a the the the in essence takes it very very personally when you look somewhere else and that's what the in the name of the says says that a person who defiles his mouth with impure speech causes all of his Torah and prayers to become impure this includes someone who interrupts his Torah study needlessly he sits outside the camp of Holiness even worse he will be severely punished for this for if a person brings a gift to a great king but offers it in an ugly container his gift will only make the king angry here the kados tells us plain and simple if you're learning toah don't treat it with disrespect don't treat it with disrespect you have to make sure you treat the Tor with utmost respect now in this week's we see certain things in the parasa that are beautiful diamonds that are sometimes in front of us but we don't realize it the par starts off with yob settled in the land of his father's sing in the land of Canan these are the chronicles of yov ysf at the age of 17 years old which is Shepherd wait hold on a second you just said these are the chronicles of yov and then immediately it starts off with YF first of all where's the rest of the brothers yov had more than one son the 12 tribes second of all YF was not the oldest so even if you're going to tell me that you are uh going to tell us how special each boy is why you starting with yourf Why not start with ruen he was the oldest third why the lingo in this way and then we see that it's actually not going to cover the bio of every son rather this is simply telling us the chronicles of yov is YF why because yov who also named Israel loved YF more than all of his sons since he was a child of his old age now of course if you just read this for the first time so so he was his favorite son because he had him when he was old but doesn't make any sense why because Benyamin was even younger than YF he was the youngest son so it should say that he loved Benyamin the most no it says that he loved y YF the most why because even though yov taught all of his children tah the special sh the special shim were given to your all of the tribes were allim were all holy were all amazing but since yov saw in Prophecy that YF is going to have to go into the Exile one day he didn't know when he didn't know where he didn't know how but he knew that ysf is meant to be something different than the rest of his brothers YF is unique and therefore YF needs to learn a that only yov knew and he did not teach to the rest of his sons because they didn't need to know it what tah was this the Torah that yov learned at the yes of Shem and EV for 14 years see tell us that yob learned t with his father and with his grandfather abam for 15 years 15 hours per day just imagine how much Torah a person can learn in a lifetime perhaps perhaps that's the equivalent of what they were able to learn literally literally within the first hour why why is that so much because we also learned from David which was nearly 5 600 years later 700 years later when the tanak tells us that when David was running away from Sha he had his with him his rebi Whi and kazal tells that that night the they ran away from Sha they studied tah 100 years word of Tor they learned in a single night how that's possible it's not the topic of conversation here the point is that when the sages when the Patriarchs when when our forefathers learn to us not the equivalent of Us opening up a book and reading so if yob learned Tor with abrah and for 15 years for 15 hours a day before he even went to lean's house what does he need an extra four years of Tor at the is of Shem and ever before he goes to the Lan's house because Shem and ever had a different type of Torah they had the type of Torah that helps you fight against Heretics against the manises of the world against the idol worshippers of the world against the missionaries of the world a different type of T Torah of the Exile while because Shem and ever were around those herit those Idol worshippers that were really smart that were really charismatic that nearly destroyed existence where Shem saw hasem destroyed the entire world where all of those smart people that had blessings beyond your comprehension were ruling the world and had legitimate arguments to rationalize the most evil things in the world but of course they were evil and therefore destroyed them they weren't stupid people Shem saw those people get destroyed how did Shem get saved he listened to his father Noah Noah follow theem simple without making any complic ated arguments trying to rationalize the evil trying to rationalize the lust trying to rationalize the the the Forbidden no no no this is what hasem wants this is what I'm going to go yeah but you could argue that maybe you're allowed to do this and do that maybe you could light it and turn it and this no no no I don't need simple to be with he says this that's what I'm want to do no but maybe you can argue maybe it's not relevant listen I'm going to follow like a good sheep I'm going to follow my shepherd that's AEM that's it that's it that's my master I'm not going not right not left not come not asking nothing I'm going that wherewithal that strength doesn't come from ignorance but rather specific type of knowledge specific type of spiritual strength that comes from the Torah of the exile to know how to fight the Heretics ever fought against the Heretics after the mabul the most successful people in the world built a Tower of Babel to go fight against God and they had all of the excuses all of the rational explanations all of the different convoluted sources of why they need to do this according to the mathematical calculations they had of how AEM destroys the world every 1650 years and therefore it's going to take them that long to build a tower and by then they could already destroy and blah blah blah point being is they had all the reasons all the excuses all of the manipulations of the truth why did ever get survive that because he had the Torah of the Exile he had a Torah that was full of truth without question that required a certain spiritual strength to overcome all the people tell you no come on you're fanatic you're crazy you're too much you're like old people you're like ancient history you should be modern you should be this you should be enlightened evil survived it in order for yov to survive the ultimate missionary of his day laan he had to learn this toah he didn't learn that toah from abah and he had to learn that from and since jakov knew that yep's son is destined to go into the Exile and be surrounded by the Heretics the idolators of the generation they were wise they were successful that had dominance had big YouTube channels lots of donations popularity that it all how is my little son of 17 years old going to survive this yob taught his son YF that special TOA and just like Sal says why does a mother love her children so much because she invests everything in them the more you invest into something the more you love it and naturally because yov invested more into yourself he taught all of them Torah he gave them all whatever they needed but since what YF needed was more Tor which connected yov to him even more naturally created a higher level of love between the two so when it says that he was a child of old age not meaning that he was the youngest of the child or that yov was old when he had him because he was old when he had the first son he was 87 years old when he had ruen but rather because the Torah that he taught YF made yourf like an elder in understanding of toah already at a young age here we see just a small little titbit of what Diamonds the Torah offers in just a single word of how much a Torah can affect a person's life and of course this made the brothers jealous this made the brothers jealous we'll discuss the Pasha later in the the week but another tidbit another tidbit that we can see from the toah of when a person follows without questioning without trying to make something new what kind of blessing he can get after the story of the brothers selling yourf and them being judged for it look what we learn we learn that they sold them for 20 pieces of silver this seems like some irrelevant insignificant amount now it is insignificant as far as quantity but is very relevant why because of this since we are all the descendants all of am are descendants of the 12 tribes although we only know of a few of them that are still with us today in the general population of am is still all of us come from the 12 tribes and since we all come from the 12 tribes we are all Partners in that sin and we all have to fix that sin of the brother's selling in fact a Jew that follows the tah and follows the words of the sages is fixing that sin every year how so first off if your first born is a boy then and you're going to do p one of my dear Tom just did it about a month ago or so showed me some pictures of it beautiful ceremony that they had the P but why do we do p with five why five why not six why not seven why not 20 that's because 20 pieces of silver says ruak are the equival of five and just like the brothers sold Ra's first born we have to fix it by buying by doing a Pon for our firstborn in the same number of falim and what if somebody says yeah but I didn't have a firstborn uh boy I had a firstborn girl so I can't fulfill this mitvah so I can't help no you can how you help every Pim since 10 of the brothers were involved in the sale then guess what the falim is divided into 10 the five shalim is divided into 10 and that's why every P every Jew gives a a half a shek now of course half a shekele we give to the poor but why do we give a half a shekele oh it's connected to the bet mikdash but why is the BET mikdash half a shekele why not a full shekele why not two shekels why not 100 shekels it's all connects to this connects to the brothers selling yourself 10 were responsible even though ruen tried to save and udah tried to save still everyone has a certain level of guilt that has to be fixed and all of us are fixing it little by little each year half a shekele each on pu that's your contribution this year to help fix the sin of selling yourself again we see how a small little detail of quantity what's the price of selling yourself how much it relates to our day-to-day life and fulfilling last but not least when some follows the Torah like Noah we see the endless blessings that no got he became like Adar the whole world came from him abah was the only loyal one to Hashem hasem started am is from him but what if everything is already there everything is already there there's already Jews there's already Torah and I'm not really uh seeing how I could help how I can get this big blessing after the story of YF we see that it goes it Segways into the story of Yuda which really is the story of the roots of mashiah because from yud comes mashia and it seems like there's an unnecessary detail in here nowhere else you going to find this that I can remember at least where the Torah is going to tell you about a friend of a sadik that is also another sadik like we know that yonatan and David were both we're both critical important people in our history we don't hear about some guy that was friends with yonathan and perhaps they they went on vacation together and their families you know their kids played together or they or David a and his friends they hung out on week you don't hear any of that you don't hear of ab ain's friends that they had some barbecue together and you know just spoke about who is doing we don't we have midashim that talk about how AB had certain friends that he had and job had certain friends that he had but usually these are very very special people that have deserve a story of their own but then here in this Paras it seems like Y and the extraordinary story of how he eventually marries Tamal which is the hidden story of mashiach and where mashiach the the the seed of mashiach came from has some unnecessary detail what's the detail it says that after yudah left his brothers went down from his brothers and turned away he became friends with a adullamite man whose name was kir and then he married a woman that was the daughter of shua so it's not like K was his father-in-law or anything like that he was just friends with him and then later on when uh Sha's daughter which was the wife of Yuda died yudah and his friend the adul went and then he ended up with uh Tamar and then in order to pay who he didn't know was he was embarrassed to go do it himself so he sent his friend the adul well here it doesn't even say his name he just say that dami what do I need to know about this friend that's because later on in the when when SCH wants to build the bet mdash he needs special trees trees that unlike others trees that are unique trees that are rare and he finds a king the king of T and he wants to do business with him now this again this is well over a thousand years after this story here the names are similar says surely you are smart like your father and you know that I not only know your father but I know your ancestors and I'm glad to also be doing business with you I have a long history with your family and he sells the trees to build the mikdash to who is this it's the same that we see in this over a thousand years before how is this guy alive for so many years the say because this aite simple man helped aad helped y who blessed him with an extraordinarily long life he lived well over a thousand years maybe even close to 2,000 years why because he helped a Jew because he helped am is so from here we see certainly a person can make a schedule learn Torah help themsel help their family but sometimes a person has that inner desire to be something special to be more they want to be somebody and if they go in the wrong direction they're going to start saying you know what I want I want to be famous Rabbi I want to be a okay first Bean then grow to be no no I want to be now but just a year ago you just two years ago you were going out with a non-jewish woman and had three kids with her what are you talking about what fix your life and then little by little you'll know how to keep Shabbat you'll know how to keep Al no no I want to do this I want to do that listen you want to be something special without being delusional you can how help am help do help learn more you learn more to God to help yourself but if you want to be something special you can be how using all of the resources all of the efforts all of the energy that would be wasted chasing an Impossible Dream use it to actually help because we see the adite who most of us did not even notice reading his name for years we've been reading the par how he got blessed for what for helping Yuda it's not like he helped him by making some type of what do he help him with he was there when you done needed him you can be there forl when they need you when they don't know what the truth about toah is you could help them by sending a m you could you have a bunch of those people in your community you could arrange for them to come hear the truth you could send them the the film or you could send them the filmm took back his millions you could help them when they need you even before they realize they need you you could help is and must be a big deal now of course a person that wants to help wants to be special can do it but it wouldn't work if you're not helping yourself if you're not learning to like you're supposed to if you're not making a program for yourself then even the efforts for you to help other people are not going to work so a person has to know that studying is as follows first and foremost like I said we all start off with you watch these lectures you watch as many of them as you possibly can each day after that you could add some relatively simple to read books that you can start getting yourself into the reading mode unless you're already in it next you start learning the Kash you learn the weekly parasha with twice reading the parasa in your language if your language is English it's Hebrew it's a if you could read it both in English and Hebrew it's good and then reading the commentary on it by Rashi so now you have the which are going to teach you some and a little bit of and you have the uh books the after you've Advanced a little further you have mastered your couple of hours per day that you're learning the combination of both of those you want to add some more if you have a good Rabbi that's local to you by all means ask him if he could set up some type of study program if you don't have one you can reach out to me I can tell you based on what your schedule is of what to learn and how much to learn and the more you are committed to that program the more you're going to succeed some of my best students have started with literally very little half hour a day an hour a day some even less than uh a half hour a day and literally some of them have already completed the sh sh mot sh uh have I think I have one that did Shi also I literally have gotone to a point where literally they're growing but they started with nothing and little by little they grew little by little they grew doesn't happen overnight but the point being is is that a person can grow and know exactly where to go some students literally every time they complete a they tell me and they ask me what the next m is I tell them what's the next M they start they finish they once they get close to finishing it they let me know I tell them what the next m is they don't just you know decide on their own what to study when you know because they want to know some type of Direction because there's also a way to study don't go into the sh for example blind without knowing what to study and just pick whatever you feel like it because if you're going to get into a very difficult in the beginning you're probably not going to finish not only you're not going to finish the you're not going to finish the because you're going to be so discouraged because you're so far away from that that level of knowledge so usually the best thing to do is to start off with the smaller ones the easier ones and just because small doesn't mean it's easy not all small ones are easy for example I wouldn't start with why because it's a lot more difficult than let's say a is double the size there is no easy everything requires toil but there is level level of difficulty if you go to go you're in for a difficult but the point being is is that a person that's committed is going to be able to achieve a lot more than someone that just studies Whatever Whenever However and you see the growth it's slow and steady and then there is Leaps and Bounds once in a while and you see that the if the person is truly committed once in a while they'll take a boost uh well they'll jump they got used to studying a couple hours a day okay now they're going to push themselves to study three four hours each day not just one time the point being is is to have a program have a program have a rabbi that's directing you also when learning Shas for example I wouldn't uh do things that said not to do for example the ways that they teach for young kids in Yesa is where they study each sentence for hours if not for days sometimes this is not the way to study have spoken against it many times wrote about it spoke against it spoke against it the itself speaks against it when people go and Pim and they go and they spend and Del into one particular thing for hours or for days with their and mixing their own opinion as if their opinion counts initially when you learn the you just need to learn and consume content learn basically what the sages said to the best of your ability and not try to become one of the uh one of the sages giving commentary so learning in itself has has to be done a certain way in order for you to succeed and if you do it and you do it consistently you can build yourself not only a a a a place in toah but it'll also make your other things more successful it'll make your kiru more successful in fact kiru will make your Torah more successful how so the AR had very unique teachings and customs and he gave some guidance to his and there a there's a the customs of or the ways of theal it says if a person wants success in waking up at midnight meaning they want to go into to this extra you know the extra level of study of Prayer of chuva they already have mastered the basics they want they're ready for the next level Thea gives several things now some of the things that he says are kote and things like that I'm not going to teach that right now but simple things simple things that everybody can do theel says you want a success in waking up at midnight to do to do all the good things that the uh said one when uh give charity without knowing who the recipient is without the recipient knowing that you gave it when you givea don't be one of these people that gives it directly to the person here give it to your wife and kids I saw them they they look terrible hopefully they'll have food now don't be one of these that makes a person feel give charity without knowing who you're giving to and who's receiving that's why has said many times in his uh uh when he spoke to to to to encourage people to donate to our organization he says this is the highest level ofak because the recipients the poor Jews in Israel theim in Israel they don't know who you are that you're giving them money and you don't know who they are so when you give stard to our organization and we give it to them it's literally the highest level of that says this aside from giving you all the countless other blessings also will help you if you are at the level of studying at midnight second read the uh daily passage of with fear and love forem while wearing there's a series called where it gives you a daily tibit of many uh especially when they didn't have enough uh time to study all of the different things and they had one particular focus in their life at that time of their life what they would do to cover ground with all the other stuff is read says read the daily passage of H and you're with the on and you're intention should be to draw upon yourself fear of God from the letter UD and love of God from the letter he and the Merit of Tor from the letter and the Merit of the from the letter again I'm not going to explain how the works but the point being is read each day with which means during the day that also helps and then the ultimate help for someone that wants to elevate their Torah study bring Jews back to Torah observance that's what theel says you want to help your Torah study you want to have more in your Torah study to the point where not only you're going to understand more not only you're going to remember more but you're going to have even Extra Strength where you don't need the same sleeping schedule as the average person bring Jews back to Torah do help with kiru support kiru this is the AR I didn't tell the AR what the write this is what the AR says and he says whoever fulfills these practices every day will Merit receiving God's help to rise at midnight you could also by the way as a side note when you're saying the blessing of Ashu and the blessing of the M uh in the time of the you could also ask hasem to help you wake up at midnight this is in a called the point being is is that regardless of where a person is in their life whether they're new to Torah or they have been learning toorah their whole life everyone can Elevate themselves and the ultimate way to Elevate yourself in toah is to have a schedule and keep pushing the limits if you're pushing the maximum limits in your Torah learning then push your maximum limits in some of the other things we mentioned like helping people do chuva what the more you help people do chuva the more your Torah is going to have it's going to have help one goes with the other if you only learn toah and you don't do kiru you're limiting your blessing if you only do kiru and you don't learn toah your kiru is barely going to work it's going to be like a car and you know with a couple of uh a couple of ounces of gas left before it stalls on you why they go together they go together now as far as where you stand you know where you stand or at least you should know where you stand and if you don't ask your Rabbi you should know where you stand and if he's able to speak freely to you and you're not one of these people that get takes everything offensively or you know unless they uh they bless the pedals under your feet then uh he'll tell you where you stand and what you should learn and the point being is is that if we take the lessons of the whether they are the ones that told us to watch our eyes protect our soul protect what ourselves from every aspect of of our Behavior we're also going to apply ourselves in our Torah learning and we can do all of this to elevate ourselves and become better Servants of Hashem better husbands better wives better children better and is not just because of the Garment Aid is someone that is going to do above and beyond what's required because they love and they fear hem above than what everybody else does andm we all succeed and being better as a result of what we learned today thank you very much for learning with me May hasem bless each and every one of us to succeed to apply and engrave these lessons into our hearts anyone that wants to contribute to help we have a new campaign that will be up probably by tomorrow uh to help the poor people in El is during this winter we're going to be giving them money food getting them some heaters uh there's unfortunately quite a few people that have come to us where they literally don't have enough clothes and heaters and food for the winter so we're going to start the campaign later tomorrow uh anyone that wants to contribute already now can contribute on our regular website b.org uh how much as much as you can because the need is extraordinary and the the more we have the more we're going to be able to help of course you could also contribute to do all the other things that we do but the the key is to know that there is a uh responsibility that we each have and we can each take advantage of whether we are Torah Scholars or beginners Jews or non-jews if you're serving AEM you want to take advantage of the opportunities to help is because wasn't Jewish and look the benefits that he got he ruined it at the end after over a thousand years but the benefit he got everyone can benefit everyone can get the the blessings they just simply have to help they have to help have to make something out of themselves have to make something out of the blessings that hasm is giving them and res of theem we do thank you very much for learning with me and BM we'll learn again later this week call to [Music] w [Music]
