Sanctify HaShem's Name

Pinhas did something that sanctified Hashem's name. Pinhas went till this point to my knowledge never killed anybody. Killed two people in the most gruesome, horrific, possible way but brave way at the same time. Saved all of Am Yisrael. How did he do it? Because Pinhas trained himself his whole life in the ways of Hashem to sanctify his name in every opportunity.
