are the Innovations of modern day
inventions making it a better world if
schl was truly the wisest man that ever
lived why didn't he invent them these
are some of the questions we're
analyzing as part of the debate of
ancient wisdom versus modern intellect
and once we delve into the answers we
find that there's a new question a
deeper question a question that actually
has an answer that once we know it it
will address different problems that
could help each one of our lives our fa
families our businesses and even resolve
the problem with
anti-Semitism enjoy share and be
holy we're back here starting a new week
with our continuation of the Jewish
hashkafa series Jewish ideology based on
the teachings of
the and is faith trust is translated in
English but of course anyone that's been
watching the series over the last couple
years knows that it's a lot more than
just the simple meaning of tonight is
going to be for
the
for and everyone out there that
continues to contribute and help us with
all the amazing things that the organ
organization is doing uh just as a
reminder for everybody we still have our
ongoing uh High holidays campaign the
special prayers campaign that also is
tied in together with this uh you know
Monumental event uh that we're going to
have in Isel after the holidays uh any
of you that uh have been part of it over
the last several years and want to join
us again a welcome to just go to uh
either the same website as last year the
BH r.org or go to uh bhas.org and you
can contribute over there uh where
you're going to be helping us to uh feed
the poor to help us do K publicize T all
the amazing things that the organization
is doing there's plenty of people out
there that are reaching out uh that are
in need of help uh financially for for
the high holidays and of course we'll do
whatever we can uh to help those that we
can uh so with that being said we're
going to get right into it there's uh a
lot a lot of
material and we really started uh this
discussion over the last couple of weeks
as the uh Kish began a new chapter
chapter five where it's comparing the
non-logical thinking uh and the
intellect but that non-logical thinking
versus the intellect gets us into a
ongoing battle an ongoing battle between
the modern day uh intellect versus
ancient wisdom and uh of course last
week uh we went over some of the things
some of the claims that uh both parties
say uh you know and uh really try to
compare are we better off uh you know
today with all of the inventions that we
have today whether it's the most recent
uh artificial intelligent uh development
uh intelligence development that we have
out there with computers are actually
helping people do things much better uh
and uh in fact are actually very useful
uh although can be used for bad but
needless to say are definitely used uh
for good uh and of course you have all
the different developments in medicine
you know the the average lifetime at
least according to the statistics seems
to be higher uh or at least uh should be
higher because of modern development of
medicine uh at the same token you have
the ancient wisdom where the
world uh was a very different place in
the past which uh to a person that's
unlearned of the past especially
unlearned about the Jewish past it seems
like uh ancient history is uh you know
history to be forgotten why would you
want to go back
there so the Kish gave these two sides
and he says this is really a a clash
between the two that's ongoing and it's
pleasurable to watch it meaning it's
humorous that it's even being compared
because automatically you see that
anyone that's actually part of this
competition uh that actually thinks
there's anything to compare between the
the present and the past doesn't really
understand the depth of the actual uh
debate here and that's really what we're
going to get into tonight so he says
that the uh the more recent Generations
are going to tell you that the earlier
Generations seemed like they did nothing
they grew up on some Farm they were
alone they were segregated from from
everyone else whereas today you know
they uh they built a world with you know
all types of Technology as as if
everyone is living in the same city you
know in the past if you wanted to go and
visit is from a different country you
had to number one put your life on the
line because traveling was never easy uh
and even more so you had to prepare
yourself to uh go for several months
just to reach the destination and some
uh people that travel didn't make it so
uh it's a uh it's something that uh
today people don't really think about
because it's not really a problem of
today today if want to go from the
United States to is just hop on a plane
and 10 hours later 12 hours later you're
there uh that of course if you don't
include all of the uh time at the
airport and traveling to the airport and
delays at the airport but needless to
say within a day you're there uh you
know in the past this was only something
that uh was in dreams you didn't do
anything like that so it seems like the
develop element that we have in the
world today clearly makes the world a
better place and if it was so clear why
debate
it hence the reason why the Kish is
bringing it up to show us that the
debate is much deeper than just simply
the development itself and he says as
follows the non logical thinker meaning
the one that is depending more on his
imagination listen seriously ly and
intently to those two
debaters and in keeping with his way to
judge on the spot he writes and signs
his
verdict you earlier Generations go and
rest in peace with your collected wisdom
we're living in a generation of Industry
a young and sophisticated one so we see
here already that here the kazun is
giving us a personality of the day that
really hasn't changed you know since he
wrote this a few decades ago where this
modernday logical uh non-logical
thinker number one wants to get to a
conclusion right away on the spot makes
decisions this is similar to today's you
know instant uh satisfaction mentality
where people want instant satis
satisfaction whether it's wanting fast
food or fast service or they want fast
answers you know all the things that you
have in the world today Are all uh you
know having uh their priority number one
is to actually give you a fast response
whether that response is the best
response or not you know obviously
you'll have to figure out once you try
the response and this certainly has it's
a uh its downside when you have a uh a
society that is so uh dependent on a
fast response that Society also makes
itself vulnerable to such things whether
it's something like the artificial
intelligence when they're you know
looking to type a few things and get the
uh computer to give them an answer
instantly it's miraculous literally how
this machine gives you a response which
is looks amazing at first until you
double check where sometimes you'll see
that the answer is not only wrong it's
completely fictitious
it has nothing to do with the truth and
we've tried a few times we've certainly
benefited by using it in a in a a
certain way but we've also seen that
there is a downside to this fast
response the Fast Response doesn't
necessarily always give you the correct
response but in today's world the
priority speed everything has to be
faster and this is in essence the
mentality that the non-logical Thinker
is bringing to the argument he's saying
listen modern day we have inventions
these inventions are bringing us a type
of Industry that's making everything
fast production we have instead of in
the old days where one person will build
some type of carriage and then
eventually finish it and then give it to
the person and sell it and then start
and use that money to feed his family
and hopefully have some left to build
another one you know today you have the
uh you know factories that are building
machines and the machines themselves are
building other machines and you have
this whole system where it could
literally operate and which it does
operate most of the time 24 hours a day
with less and less human
involvement so clearly that makes today
better at least according to the
non-logical
Thinker and The non-logical Thinker is
going to come up with this response
quickly as he says on the spot based on
the surface that he is
evaluating he's evaluating the surface
he's evaluating what he sees is what you
get he sees something that's what he
understands now the intelligent judges
the ones that are not going to be using
their imagination but rather they're
going to be using their wisdom the
wisdom that is more analytical they sit
and they study this debate
using deep reasoning and determine that
wisdom's importance lies in its
theoretical study and neither side
should Place its many practical
applications on the
scales here the other type of Judge the
intelligent judge is not coming up with
a conclusion at all as far as which one
is better before it gives you the the
the rules
of the actual
debate whereby they tell you the
inventions of this generation versus the
last
generation should not even be part of
the debate at all as they're not going
to tell
you the actual wisdom of each
generation because the wisdom is not
necessarily going to be measured by how
it's actually put into practice
because it is possible and in this case
it is
reality or factual that much of the
wisdom that was possessed in the
previous generation was not
applied and therefore it didn't just
because they didn't apply it doesn't
mean they didn't have
it because really if you look at the
wisdom of some of the ancient Scholars
even if you are not going into the world
of Torah you go into the ancient
scholarship some of the famous Scholars
whether it's the D Vinci or the
aristotles The Plato all of these
different uh people that were
world-renowned uh uh for for for their
inventions for their intellect in
general you see that much of their work
was not actually put into practice
didn't invent things they did some
things but generally speaking most of
what's appreciated by the world today is
not their inventions but rather their
wisdom that was
theoretical needless to say in the world
of the torat where you see the wisdom of
the sages especially if one studies the
talmud and sees literally Divine wisdom
now at first glance when a person starts
learning talmud they don't even
understand what they're reading so
they're not going to see Divine wisdom
they're just is going to see a bunch of
words they have no idea what it means
and needless to say how does this apply
to you today and year 2023 or whatever
year you're watching
this later on as a person continues to
delve deeper and deeper into the talmud
and begins to understand what's actually
being written and why it's being written
you will literally see the words come to
life and how this wisdom that was just
everyday wisdom of the sages a couple of
thousand years ago or
less was something beyond the scope of
what's possible in the world
today
now these intelligent judges are telling
you for this reason you cannot consider
the inventions as part of your argument
on either
side now you're going to say wait of
course they're going to say that
argument of course they're going to say
that uh you can't use the inventions of
today as part of the argument because
this generation certainly has better
inventions don't be so quick to judge
because we're going to get into a little
deeper and you'll see that perhaps there
was someone and there was some things
that were far beyond anything the world
can comprehend
technologically now certainly if you
calculate the Miracles the Divine wisdom
the prophecy thees all of that stuff of
course the argument already ends just
simply by saying those words but I'm not
talking about that I'm talking about
pure wisdom technological wisdom put
into application and what it actually
put together once a person understands
what that is they'll see that all of the
inventions of today still have not come
to par with what was already there just
a couple a few thousand years
ago so here the Kish continues and
says the height of
wisdom is abstract wisdom and the fact
that people use it in order to better
their material life does not add honor
or elevation to the wise soul that
dwells in the heavens true the later
generations have made much use of wisdom
in the service of mankind and have
enriched the world greatly but that is
not a reason to belittle previous
generations which gave themselves over
completely to the acquisition of wisdom
and understanding without intending to
use their wisdom to invent new
inventions on this
Earth so here we see pretty much
everything I just said where he is
clearing up and clarifying the
debate that if you are one that's really
truly looking for the difference
between previous wisdom the the What's
called the ancient wisdom or past wisdom
to the intellect in the world of uh uh
today you can't you can't base that on
the inventions of the iPads and the
tablets and the iPhones and the rockets
and fast food and all of those things
you have to look at simply at the
abstract wisdom which is things that uh
many times are simply
theoretical simply theoretical radical
in other cases they could actually you
know it's factual information but it's
not applied to anything in
particular because there you will see
what one possesses versus the
other now why wasn't this actually
applied and how does this have to do
with us today are some of the questions
we're going to have to
answer in fact there's going to be a few
questions we're going to answer we're
going to address tonight that are going
to pique some of your interest more than
perhaps it was
already one question is was Einstein a
genius according to the
sages now everyone can say yeah but he
was a wicked Jew he didn't uh observe
Shabbat so certainly but that doesn't
change necessarily whether he was wise
or not was he wise or was he
smart sages have a definition of who is
wise did he
fit even by his own
admission that particular
definition second thing
is
Debaters we see that the world today
since you have
online presence that's uh you know easy
to
attain anyone with a camera and
sometimes even without a camera could uh
put himself out there and debate his
beliefs usually much more than debate
his knowledge because many times the
deaders more times than not don't
actually possess knowledge they usually
have piggybacked off of somebody else's
knowledge and uh they like to debate
they like to prove people wrong needless
to say this is very common in the
religious World needless to say times a
million this is constantly targeted at
the Jewish people
and unlike past history where debates
were usually something that the sages
tried to run away from not because they
couldn't win the debate because in fact
we see every debate that the sages had
they won but rather because they knew
the outcome of these debates could
actually mean death simply because the
other debater didn't like to lose
because and uh their loss would usually
mean that they would uh take revenge
and therefore many times you see that uh
one of the grounds for the debate was
that there had to be uh you know some
Tye of Promise of uh of of some type of
uh uh peace between the
two or something with protection but
even that failed as we know the debate
the famous debate in Barcelona between
the ramban uh and the former uh uh the
heretic uh Jew that was pres
representing
Christianity the king actually offered
protection to the
ramban and after the ramban won the
debate to his dismay even the king
admitted that uh he can't protect
him and he
simply helped him or at least allowed
him to run away so he doesn't die he's
going get murdered in Cold Blood by the
losing
Christians but today you see that uh
debates is much more common and I'm not
talking about Fame Debaters that
actually have something to speak of and
have qualifications and there's a need
for them to debate like Rabbi toir
singer or the debate that was done by
Rabbi ysf mrai no no I'm talking about
you know people that really have no
actual scholarship no actual knowledge
they just know a things by heart uh
perhaps they know how to speak quickly
think quickly and they want to debate
they want to go on the internet and
debate everybody that simply is willing
to pay attention to them at at the very
least uh you know promises to pay
attention to them and they go online and
they do these debates and uh many times
you see this uh leading to disaster I
don't mean disaster like
death at least not that but it does lead
to
disaster which is desecration of God's
name more times than not by the one
that's trying to protect God's name or
at least theoretically trying to protect
God's name why why is this happening
we're going to try to address that as
well
tonight another thing we're going to try
to address is what inventions did we
have in the
past that uh really surpassed anything
that we have in the world today we've
discussed this in the past but we'll
discuss it again and try to get a better
idea of the depth of this
debate
between ancient history ancient wisdom
and modern
intellect so the Kish is telling us one
of the
flaws of The non-logical
Thinker is that they want to do
something quickly and that includes
their
decisions this is not a Advantage but
rather a flaw because the faster you do
something the less time you have to
analyze all of the moving
Parts on the other hand the int
intelligent judges are going to study it
and after they study it they conclude
that really the inventions of either
side are really should not be part of
the argument altogether because it's
very possible that the uh intellect
existed even though it wasn't applied
and therefore he completes this
particular section by saying moreover
these these uh wise men these sages
intentionally
refrained from doing this for they fear
that these things might fall into the
hands of disreputable people who might
use them for various idolatrous purposes
and for Bloodshed as was said in the
page 38 about G and vna's
family and we're going to get into what
happened with them so
now we have a situation where someone
that's new to the world of
Torah sees the Torah as
perhaps a bunch of old men
arguing what are they arguing
about he doesn't know and as soon as he
finds out a little bit about it he
doesn't seem to
care you open up usually the most common
tractate of the the talud that a person
starts learning is the is
a you open up the and you start seeing
sages
debate when is the best time to say is
and all different types of things that
are connected to the prayer to the when
to say it whether to say standing up
sitting down is it important to say it
out loud can you say it in your mind all
of the different things and this of
course branches out into the whole world
of prayer whether
it's everything else out
there now when a person is not really
familiar with
Judaism opens this up this seems silly
to
them this seems silly
why did the sages care so much about
this particular prayer and even if they
do care about it let's say it's
important let them just decide tell me
the final decision and that's it why do
I need a whole track dat of thear to
talk about
it how do I know this because I was one
of those people where I didn't
understand opening up the G and I'm
seeing this one page after another
another after another after another
after another it seemed to never
end arguing this this point about when
to see the how and I just said okay just
tell me the final decision and I'll do
it I want to do the right thing just
tell me what to do and then you keep
going and you keep going and you keep
going and abay and Raa and abay and Raa
and one of the other C just throws in
and and you're like whoa why why are you
arguing just tell me what to do and then
the word worst part of it all is ran gel
comes in the middle and he ruins the
whole thing why because everything you
just argued on for the last 10 pages
gets thrown in the gar because because
raban Gamel is the n and he says this is
what the law is and I just simply wanted
to just cry I don't understand why did
you take me on this journey I went up
the mountain I went down the mountain I
went up the mountain again I went down
the mountain okay I was on a bias side
and then I was on Rab's side and then a
few other sages came through and I said
okay maybe they make sense too and then
you bring ranel and just sells you an
answer that no one even thought of no
one ever spoke of and I said okay this
must be the first and the last time this
is going to happen and then you contined
to learn in the tud and you realize this
is a constant
recurrence not every time but it happens
and then you have bet and and they say
this and then they argue and then you
find out that one of the
debates about the which is whether to
push your hands on theban on the
sacrifice with your
hands was this way or that way that
debate was the longest debate that ever
existed go ahead and try to guess how
long that debate went on for a week a
month a year try over 300 years over 300
100 Years of sages
debating at first look when a person
starts to learn the talmud without any
basic background in Judaism this seems
ridiculous once a person has the
prerequisites has a basic understanding
of tah has a deep honor and fear of the
almighty and his
sages he he can't get enough of
it on one hand the Christian Idol
worshippers are saying this is why we
don't like you guys in your
talmud this Yos rockar that died 2,000
years ago and got discovered by some
prostitute he got rid of the Old Law he
got rid of the Old Law we are relying on
The Prostitute because she said that the
grave was
empty but us
sages we're saying wait a minute hold on
a second we don't rely on prostitutes we
don't rely on non- kosher people we rely
on factual evidence we rely on both
every possible thing that needs to be
reviewed every possible consideration
needs to be reviewed in order to arrive
at the truth even if you heard a voice
tell you something you cannot do that if
it forsakes the Torah
so now you start going into the tud and
you see wait a minute what are they
saying and you start realizing they are
giving
you the basic premise of what's being
debated the law already exists the
reality already exist the truth already
exist but they're putting this truth to
the
fire and trying to explain to you not
only how this truth was
concluded but also that every possible
thought of any heretic of any wise
person of any naysayer of any good one
every single side will be
analized and put to the test and to show
you that the ultimate truth is
indisputable we don't have to rely on
some fairy tale we don't have to rely on
some uh person in some cave telling you
that they know that no no we have the
wisdom that gave us with the rules of
the T that he gave us in Mount sa of how
to extrapolate the truth from it we use
these tools in order to arrive at the
truth so now when a person goes into a
tud and he starts seeing wait this
debate has a lot of different factors
why because it's not just
which prayer to say and when to say it
but who says it under certain
circumstances and how this relates and
how this connects to 50 million other
things that are part of the day-to-day
Jewish
life and you start seeing how the
questions that they ask literally are
things that your basic
mind could never arrive at why because
it's much more difficult to ask ask a
good question than to give a good
answer because to ask a good question
means you need to know the material
really well to give an answer sometimes
you could just simply get lucky but the
answer doesn't necessarily mean you know
how to arrive at the conclusion it just
means that you threw the number there
it's like a one of these Math teachers
puts a uh a very uh uh
complicated uh calculus type of uh
statistics mathematic equation on the
board fills up the whole board with pies
and square pies and all types of
different mathematical
terminologies and know a little
5-year-old kid comes and puts one on the
uh on the board and it happens to be the
right answer does that mean that that
little 5-year-old kid knows what he's
doing no he just got lucky put the
number one
there to ask the question is much more
difficult
now here The non-logical
Thinker doesn't care about the question
cares about the results what do you have
and his results according to his
standards are he has a tablet he has
airplanes he has fast food he can make a
phone call he could go on Skype he can
use a
computer so to him this represents
wisdom the real intelligent people are
telling you no no no these are
inventions these are
applications of certain intellect that
existed but it doesn't necessarily mean
that they know the root of the wisdom
itself and things that are expanded
Beyond it in fact it doesn't negate the
fact that previous generations had not
just this wisdom but even Superior
wisdom they just simply chose not to use
it now why would
anybody choose not to use it says the
[Music]
Kish they refrained from doing it
because they feared that these things
might fall into the hands of
disreputable people that would use them
for bad Bloodshed idolatrous
purposes so the first first question
that we have to answer is what is the
definition of a wise person according to
the
Torah the
m 2 m number n and also in
the page
32A
says who is wise someone that will see
what's born what's the outcome of what
he's going to do before he does it
that's
wisdom wisdom is not giving somebody an
iPhone wisdom is not telling people a
story wisdom is not
age wisdom is not looks wisdom is not a
good
speech wisdom is someone that can see
what will be the outcome of his actions
or any other particular
action before it's done and there
thereby decides based on this knowledge
of what will
happen rather than trial and
fair the
typical
mentality is trial and
error he tries if it's an error okay we
try again that's the
mentality according to the sages that's
the mentality of fools why because if
you truly had wisdom you wouldn't take a
risk
and just risk
failing you would actually analyze it
until you can see what would happen
before you
try now of course there are certain
things that are necessary you need to
try them out but when it comes to
intellectual topics there's no need
there's no need to try it out in
practical purposes you can actually look
at the different debates analyze every
single condition that could possibly be
and this is really more of a scientific
way of doing things they don't invent
every single thing that they draw on the
board they put the things on the board
and they could already calculate what
will be as a result they see what will
be out of it this is closer to what
we're talking about as far as wisdom
than people that are just trying things
out he's going to try a business out
hopefully it works out that's not wisdom
that's hoping for the best
so this trial and error this uh
um uh knowing what will be the outcome
before you actually do it already tells
us what the
sages determine as ad as
wisdom and by that we also have our
first answer as far as whether
Einstein was considered wise according
to the
sages although Einstein did a lot of
things that certainly people appreciate
many people don't realize that some of
the things that he actually claimed to
that were his claim to fame were already
written by the sages 800 years before he
was even a thought in his parents uh in
his parents' minds but needless to say
one of the things that Einstein is most
famous for is the atomic
bomb but yet later on in his
life Einstein
regretted being part of the atomic bomb
because he saw the disaster that it
brought to the world so according to the
sages he is a fool although smart
intellectually had a very high IQ but as
far as wisdom is
concerned a complete and utter fool
because what did you think the bomb is
going to be used for did you think that
the bomb is going to make ice cream did
you think that the bomb was going to
sell
cookies what are bombs made for they're
made to cause damage they're made to
pressure
someone even if that means the
destruction of entire cities or
countries you should have thought of it
before you became part of it you and
Oppenheimer and some of the other people
that were smart as far as mathematics
and science and physics and and all
types of other subjects smart but
wise not at all because look at what's
happened because even though you can
certainly use the atom for positive
purposes generally
speaking the main thing that's changed
and transformed War over the last 100
years versus all other Generations
before it is that every war could
literally lead to the end of the world
now
in the past people would fight they had
some Spears and some bows and arrows and
eventually they had some uh cannons and
all types of things and yeah it
certainly led to destruction and a lot
of death but nowhere near what could be
done now in a very short period of
time in fact one of the prophecies
that's in the Tanakh in the book of
Zechariah Chapter 14 where he talks
about the final war of goou Magog where
2third of the world will be destroyed
the sages come over there and they tell
us that this this destruction will
happen in 8
minutes when the sages said it it was at
a time where atomic bombs didn't
exist nothing even remotely close to an
atomic bomb existed at that time when
they said it literally didn't even have
guns your most powerful weapon was a
boulder that you were able to slingshot
to destroy you know a building that's it
you didn't have anything that could
annihilate two-thirds of the of the
world population needless to say in 8
minutes if you went to war you could
kill a bunch of people that are in front
of you but their friends in a different
city they're beyond your
reach so when you when when the sages
said yeah this destruction of the world
that's predicted and prophesized in the
Tor in chapter 38 ofel Ezekiel and also
in chapter 14 of Zacharia
this seems silly like a silly
prediction until we arrive at the last
century where this so-called silly
prediction became a
reality showing us the power of Prophecy
and how it's the true prophecy is not
predicting something that's
probable it's predicting something
that's not even possible according to
the current
status so
when you
have a bunch of smart
people not have
wisdom the damage could be
catastrophic this is also the
case in modern medicine of course
everyone is aware of the pandemic we've
all dealt with over the last few years
of the Corona and of course I know
there's a million and a half different
debates on either side the vaccine no
vaccine we're not going to get into that
we've spoken enough about it over the
past but the point being is is that one
of the
reasons
that this whole
vaccine had such an impact on society is
because of the society that has been
built a society that wants on demand
service a society that wants fast
service a society that demands immediate
answers is also a society that has made
itself vulnerable to accept whatever
answer is giving to it even
if they don't know necessarily what side
effects will come with these answers so
as soon as these vaccines came into the
world everyone you know they felt like
as if the Messiah just came people
running running towards getting this
vaccine without really considering do
they really know enough about it do they
really know the
risks and then later on crying foul
about Oh look The some people died some
people this some people got sick anyway
you can't even blame either one of the
sides certainly there's corruption
certainly there is capitalism at its
worst certainly there's foolishness but
the point is is that this is a product
of society it's not the first or the
last that will be this way so long as
Society wants this type of
product when you want an on demand
answers you have to understand that that
on demand comes with a price if you want
Google to be your Rabbi if you want the
AI to be your marriage counselor if you
want immediate responses there's a price
because immediate responses are not
able and not created in a in a way where
they could actually put everything into
consideration this is also the reason
why Ally speaking even if they
programmed
the AI to have all of the know the
known Torah books out there which is
literally millions of books into the
program similar to the Baran program or
the uh uh some of the others that are
there they put everything into the AI
and they program it
to give you answers based on the AL not
like it does now we just create
stuff and it gives you a you ask it a
specific question about something
new how to treat certain things and he
uses all of the known
information in order to arrive at a
conclusion you still can't use
that just by itself until a reviews it
why because even though the program
could use all of
the material even beyond what the
average Rabbi can use average scholar
can use it will never have the ability
to look at the uh specific situations
that are not known to the computer
whether it's particular circumstances
that have to do with specific people
specific circumstances that have to do
with Society things that you're always
going to need a human needless to say a
to evaluate but once a evaluates it sees
that all of the uh things were done you
could easily use that as
a but to just simply think oh yeah the
computers will eventually be the uh uh
the uh the post scheme of the future
that can never be why because you're
always going to have to have some type
of human factor that could analyze
things and evaluate things that a
computer simply can't for example if you
uh somebody asked you a question can I
uh uh get a divorce or can I get married
or can I uh stay married but not go to
the mikve uh you know according to the
the computer is goingon to analyze these
several questions based on the law but
the
is going to analyze not just the law but
the people the people
involved why they want to make this
decision who this decision is being made
between who and whom and so on and so
forth there's a lot more factors that
the computer simply does not have the
ability to analyze for example the uh
one of the things that
um that uh the uh people always amazed
by the
is knowledge of the sages about certain
factors uh and
uh one time somebody came to uh
theam and uh asked him about a uh an
egg an egg eating an egg on
Shabbat and to everyone's
surprised when the uh the young man
asked theam the question asked him
whether if he eats this
egg uh whether it's meat or it's or it's
uh considered
parve said it's
meat now people that heard this
question were surprised why because an
egg is parve it's not
meat an egg is
parve so why did the give this little
kid what seems like the wrong
information
then wanted to show his
students why he said it and he brought
the kid back and he says to him where
did you get this
egg and the boy said I got it from the
chulent on
chabbat he says did you have meat in the
pot of chulent he said yeah said okay
thank you very
much and that's when everybody
understood but how did you know this
came from
chulent how did you
know he says because throughout his
whole question he also said eating it on
Shabbat who eats egg on
Shabbat other than people that eat
chulent calculating every single word
and knowing the people knowing the
community knowing their
Customs this is wisdom or again small
small minor minute examples of
wisdom that a non-logical thinker a
person that wants UND demand responses
is never going to Avail themselves
to
now the sages say that the person that's
truly
wise is going to see
what will occur before it actually
happens and this explains why the says
that the sages although they did possess
this extraordinary wisdom this
extraordinary intellect they refrained
from using it because they feared that
this will be utilized these inventions
would be utilized for the
wrong the
Benish was once
asked about
schik did schik
possess knowledge about modern
technology whether it's the things like
we discussed atomic bomb or the
inventions of the
day did he possess it or
not if he possessed it why didn't he use
it if he didn't possess
it then how is he the wisest man that
ever
lived and responds of course he
possessed this knowledge but he knew
enough through his wisdom that it will
bring much more bad than good and
therefore he didn't utilize it but
anyone that wants to see some of his
knowledge put into
practice doesn't need to look very far
you can go into
the on or there was even a special mid
that was written just about this subject
called
mid the mid of the Throne
of and anyone that reads this
midash will see wonders of Wonders about
the inventions of
schl that without any exaggeration
surpass anything available in the world
today some examples are his throne
was not just a huge chair but rather a
throne that was on Wheels connected to
71 other chairs everything made of
gold all of the chairs are
connected now you're just thinking oh
this is just a good Furniture
guy the
stairs that led him to his throne you
couldn't just walk
up why you had to
say specific verses from the Torah that
had to do with the warnings on the
judges such
as don't you know uh don't uh judge uh
against the uh you know against the law
in so many
words like as if you're under a bribe of
some kind or make a mistake intentional
mistake
he had each time he would say this
verse the animals that were on each
step they represented different things
the first step having a lion on one side
a golden lion and an ax on the other
side the Second Step would have a uh a
tiger and a deer and each step had
different set of animals once on on one
side was the impure
animals and on the other side was pure
animals animals that were
kosher and each time he would say a
verse the animals would raise him to the
next
step as a side
note schl married a thousand women
because he wanted to bring mashia he
wanted to make World Peace one of the
women that he made a mistake of marrying
was the daughter of
par the par of the day PO is not an
actual name it's like saying
Caesar and she con he converted her to
Judaism but she never
really was a righteous convert she went
back to her idolatrous ways and she
caused him
to have a lot of problems in his life
but this made her father par
his
father-in-law so after SCH
died this par came
and came to take the Throne of schlomo
his
son-in-law but he didn't know about all
of these things and he tried going up to
the throne but as soon as he took the
first step because the lion didn't hear
the voice of schl saying this verse as
soon as he took the first step he gave
par such a h such a hit that he made him
uh paralyzed for the rest of his life
and therefore from that point on this
was
called comes from the word is like
crippled each step par would have to say
a verse and it would raise him it would
lift him after he eventually got to the
throne there was a golden dove again
this is literally gold it's not gold
with uh semiconductor chips in
it how gold flies how gold hears how
gold does all these things your question
is is a good question but I don't have
an answer for that other than schlomo's
wisdom is superior to anything we could
possibly
imagine but he was able to manipulate
gold in such a fashion where after he
arrived at the throne there was a dove
that would carry his
uh his um crown and put it on his head
then the dove would go fly in the air by
itself not with a remote control even
and bring a seph Tora scroll and put it
in his
arms now what's the connection of all
the chairs all the this was the chairs
of the saned this is where they would
judge and this these this
Throne was advanced in such a
way that
anytime somebody
lied
lied immediately all of the different
animals the Lions and the deers and the
oxes and whatever other animals were
there all of them started growling and
screaming a light detector
unlike anything else in the world
without connecting any wires to the
person and pretending like it's reading
it's it's Lies when in reality it's
barely even reading its his
pulse so these types of things this
obviously there's much
more these types of things already
existed 3,000 years
ago so the Ben goes back and he
says obviously ly these this invention
in itself is superior to anything we had
in the world back then needless to say
in the world
today so why didn't
he develop it further make cars make uh
planes make spaceships make a bunch of
things because his wisdom was true
wisdom and thereby that wisdom allowed
him to understand that developing it
further would create more bad than
good the difference between someone
that's
smart and wicked versus somebody that's
wise and
righteous is that somebody that's smart
and wicked even if they know that they
don't really know what is the outcome of
this product they
created they created a
medicine they created a medicine and say
listen this's the disease we have the
medicine for this disease what do you
have Corona no problem we could heal
this disease it's going to solve the
disease okay
great give us how much you want for it
we'll pay you whatever price people are
dying everywhere no problem I'll sell it
to you by the
millions sounds like a nice guy sounds
like a really clever smart guy until
people start dying left and right and I
ask wait a minute why are people dying
he says oh yeah that's kind of one of
the side effects why did you tell us now
why didn't you tell us before we bought
it oh no if I would have told you before
you wouldn't have bought it that's a
wicked
person smart but
Wicked many times people create
stuff and it looks like they're
smart but in
reality what people don't realize is
that just because someone is smart
doesn't necessarily mean you could side
with them because they could be smart
and evil at the same
time and therefore if a person has
righteousness it's much more valuable
than the intellect that they have
because you know that their
righteousness is going to determine
whether they'll take a step or
not if they develop something and they
know that this can create more problems
than
Solutions their righteousness is going
to lead them to to stay away from it and
that's what the difference is between
smart and righteous and the smart and
Wicked with the righteous person will
give up on the monetary
aspirations for the greater
good one of
the great uh uh examples that we see
this is from schl
himself he saw that there is certain
things that could be developed in the
world but he chose not to develop them
because if we take this and we now build
cars we now have a whole new problem
problems of car
accidents something that didn't exist
beforehand you may think yeah but it
allowed people to develop allow people
go from City to
City sure but we survived fine without
it we survived fine without it now you
have a whole new problem there are
literally millions of people that die
from car crashes literally millions of
people that die from all types of
accidents a problem we didn't have from
the past now that it's already there
there obviously you utilize things to
the best of your ability but the point
being in is is that the wisdom of SCH
knew that this is going to be the
outcome and knew that it's really for
the better good if it's not invented at
least not by
him same concept goes for a lot of other
things there are a lot of new problems
in the world today that didn't exist in
the past because of these new inventions
this doesn't necessarily make a person
forbidden from using them certainly you
can use them to the best of your ability
and safety but if a person asks why
wasn't this developed in the past it's
not because of lack of knowledge but
rather because of higher level of
wisdom
now this leads us to the next question
which is why is it that despite the
Jewish people having the truth since day
one we receed the Torah at Mount sa the
whole world acknowledges that admits it
it's never been
disputed but
yet the Torah tells us in many places
that we have to stay away from Heretics
from people that are against the Torah
needless to
say tells us that if this person is a
heretic of Jewish background you're not
even allowed to be within six feet of
him not allowed to debate him and the
only reason you're allowed to debate
someone of a different religious
background is only if you have to not
just simply for the sake of pleasure
either because you you need to save
somebody uh from from going in and
becoming an idol worshipper like them or
anything like that but to just go and be
a debater just because you want to make
a living showing people you're smart
there's absolutely no permission the
question is why if you possess the
truth why aren't you flaunted like
everybody else flaun their lies this is
the common uh question out there where
people have oh I uh you know I challenge
you to debate such and
such what they don't realize is Jewish
law doesn't allow you to to just simply
debate just because you feel like
debating why why doesn't it do
that one of the things that you'll see
in people that are not nonprofessional
Debaters that put themselves into the
debates is a lack of
consideration for the outcome of
whatever they
say in so many words lack of wisdom they
may be able to have a quick response to
whatever question the opposite side has
where he brings up all types of verses
from his Bible and they'll have rebuttal
for it quick rebuttal from it many of
them they simply memorized from expert
Debaters but needless to say it seems
like they know what they're doing
they're able to quote certain things
from the Tanakh
and they are sometimes even able to win
the
debate but usually and more times than
not there's more damage that's created
by these debates than
good but none of this is taken into
consideration because they're too
focused on their aspirations for winning
their aspirations for the honor that you
get as a result of winning their
aspirations for these
feelings that they're going to get as a
winner
whether it's a monetary or not is
irrelevant because many times the
aspirations for Honor are even greater
than the aspirations of
money and they want to soothe their ego
they're looking for people to be wrong
on in on the internet if they see
somebody making a
video they'll challenge them for debate
if they see somebody making a comment on
the internet they'll constantly tell him
how wrong he
is and they'll show their mental prowess
and their knowledge of a few verses and
a few
pages just for the sake of winning and
what they don't realize is that their
lack of
consideration of the greater
good more times than not causes more
damage as a result of their answer why
is this the case
I one time heard not too long
ago somebody that uh invited me or
somebody on his team invited me to
attend the debate or promote some debate
that this young
guy was having with uh Christians and I
told him I'm not interested
and uh moved on with my
life to my dismay the debate continued
they had this debate and they had many
other
debates and I didn't track it but until
recently maybe a few months ago I ran
into it I ran into some other debate
that he had I listened to it for a few
minutes and the opposing side of the
church is uh was a me Messianic Jew
which is really the
church uh was telling this Jewish guy
that uh he doesn't know his rambam well
enough he doesn't know his talmud well
enough and uh he was quoting
it and the Jew comes back and says
listen who cares about what the rambam
or the talmud
says I care about What God Says
and at that
moment he lost everything he doesn't
realize it but he lost
everything even if he won the debate and
even if he won a thousand debates before
it why the moment you say that you don't
care about the tradition you don't care
about our Pim you don't care about our
sages you become
worse than the one you're debating
against and that's unfor unfortunately
one of the things that I've seen as a
common denominator is that people don't
think through what they're
saying and they say stupid things
because he
heard professional Debaters that
actually know what they're talking about
there actually really are
me
say let's consider What God Says or
let's prioritize What God
Says in his little mind this little
peanut decided oh yeah let's say What
God Says and disregard the sages
disregard the T disregard everything as
if they were presenting something else
as if they're representing their own
unique thought as if that's not also
Divine wisdom as as if Hashem is not
speaking through them as as if they're
not simply interpreting what the Torah
tells
us he wants to interpret things on his
own who cares at that moment he
desecrated God's name so what ends up
happening is that the debat that are not
really considering the weight of their
words usually it's a domino effect of
tragedy then they start debating anyone
and everyone and giving a stage to a
bunch of people that could
easily manipulate and Influence People
in a negative way even if they lose the
debate they could still get the stage of
actually a few people and and win a few
people over this is the reason why we
fought so hard against the uh uh Ephraim
Goldberg and his uh idea of bringing
Christian missionaries to
synagogues and why the sages forbid it
under all conditions not allowed to be
within four feet four amot six feet of
them why because even if they're talking
about a secular subject even if they're
losing the debate still it could be a
problem it could be a problem
now when the guy told me that
he doesn't care
whatsoever oh he told the other guy that
he doesn't care whatsoever about what
the sages say or what the
uh is or the is I understood over there
that this guy is much more dangerous
than he realizes and unfortunately
there's a few of them there's a few of
them out there that are trying to make a
name for themselves and this is the
product of lack of wisdom they know a
few things to make them dangerous but
that's exactly where they stayed
dangerous
now the
deeper understanding
here is that we have AAR that tells
us that a a gentile that learns the
talud gets death penalty Heavenly death
penalty why the Gentiles are not allowed
to learn the
talud and and this is something that was
never really a problem
because throughout all of history the
Jews were the only ones that were really
promoting the
talmud why is the talmud say that the
Gentiles are not allowed to learn the
tud what's why why if it's
wisdom and has all seven levels of
wisdom in it why not share it with the
world why only the in Torah why only
specific things within the oral Torah
like
M why not the tud itself which is really
the core of everything has everything in
it that's
because because it has everything in it
the sages already knew that if an
untrained eye goes into it it's not
going to understand things and it's
going to misunderstand them
and this is exactly what happened
multiple
times throughout history whether it's a
uh few thou a thousand years ago or
nearly a thousand years ago 800 years
ago where they ended up
burning hundreds and hundreds of tuds as
a result of them not liking what's in it
because it spoke about their Idol Yos
and how he's in gam and different things
that it says about Gentiles that are
again easily to easy to
misunderstand but this was not the only
time in fact in the book The History of
Zionism which talks about literally the
history of
Zionism and uh talks about how some of
the evil that they
did in the first hundred or so Pages it
gives you a very good history lesson
about the times themselves something
that a lot of people are unaware of
because most people that are familiar
with with Zionism are simply familiar
with some of the the personalities some
of the pictures but they're not really
understanding or or familiar with the
history itself of what happened at those
times so in the
1800s a lot of things were
happening one of the things that
happened was that there was
a h a prophecy coming true which is that
the Barbarian nations of Rome were
coming together again and eventually
forming into Nazi J Germany
where Rome is Germany it's not a
different it just changed
names the Roman Empire continued from a
uh 100 years before the destruction of
the BET mikdash until about 500 years
after the destruction of the bet mikdash
there was animosity between the
leadership over the next couple of
hundred years that broke it up into
pieces where different Barbarian
uh uh uh uh uh came to uh and caused a
lot of problems but then they United
again along with the church and
continued under a uh uh same Roman
Empire but called the Holy Roman Empire
this time for the next thousand years
but the name changed in the early
1800s when the uh 34 German Nations uh
uh uh United again and then uh it was it
was was uh uh
um get brought down even uh uh more
about 60 years later to 26 Nations or 26
German countries in so many words
Germany was the continuation of the same
Roman Empire that destroyed the bet
mikash that's in essence the
point
now the
animosity of the Romans toward is the
Jews doesn't have to be explained they
Destro our
mikdash okay uh the animosity of the
Germans to is the Jews doesn't have to
be explained they killed six million of
us but what a lot of people don't
realize is
that some of the
animosity that happened throughout the
last couple thousand
years was as a result of
misunderstanding certain parts of our
Torah in such a
fashion
that it was obvious that they're going
to use that as a
hatred whether it was during the Spanish
Inquisition where one uh Jew that
abandoned
Judaism wanted to take revenge against
his own brothers and brought different
parts of the tud to the uh Church in
order to create hatred against his own
brothers that are the Jews by showing
them different
statements or
it's in uh 100 years before the
Holocaust where anti-Semitism was
becoming more and more common but in
order to add fuel to the
fire the book says in page
28 that anti-semitic Jewish campaigns
proceeded on various levels a a by
Street Corner rabble rousers petitioned
to limit Jewish influence in the public
the appearance of fresh Revelations on
the talmud the exclusion of Jews from
from uh student
organizations here in so many words he's
telling you
that 150 years
ago was no different than what's
happening
today different troublemakers thugs
went into the
tud grabbed whatever they could that
they could
recognize and say look it says that the
Gentiles are animals it says Gentiles
deserve death penalty for learning the
talmud it says uh all types of things in
the tud they don't really understand the
body the context who what when how they
just look at a superficial statement and
they publicize this this
statement and of course the viewers are
even more
clueless than the actual uh uh Thug
that's that's preaching
this they're just looking for an excuse
to hate the Troublemaker is giving them
the excuse to
hate in the middle of the street where
is this done today and has been done for
the last several years or even more than
several years you have all of these
anti-semitic uh uh Hebrew Israelites or
Israelites whatever they call themselves
Black Hebrew Israelites burgund
Israelites whatever they are they in
essence Define themselves as the real
Jews apparently and their identity has
been stolen when was it stolen how can
you possibly steal identity I'm not
really sure they even have arguments
what is their argument how could you
really be the real Jews if you're not
all
black as if the Torah says that you have
have to be black in order to be
Jewish how can you uh believe in this uh
evil talmud as if you know what's in the
talmud how could you even call yourself
Jewish when the letter J was only
invented 500 years
ago who cares when the letter J was
invented 500 years ago all of these
things just show how stupid they are and
how ignorant their leaders are because
they're basing everything that they have
on the premise that their current
knowledge is the only knowledge that
exists one of it being the English
language they're saying oh J J was
invented 500 years ago there was no J
Judaism started
3,334 years ago at Mount saai we spoke
Hebrew you
morons we didn't need J we have the
letter giml which under C Nik
has the sound of the letter g under
different Nik which is a different uh
it's it's the equivalent of
vowels it has the sound of J the entire
English language was invented about less
than a thousand years ago who cares
about J or English Judaism wasn't didn't
start with either one of them nor does
it need either one of them but of course
the average person that's following
these people doesn't know any of this
stuff they're just looking for excuses
to justify their hate so when they tell
you different things about the talmud
says this thing is bad about the
Gentiles that thing is bad this thing is
bad the average person out
there oh yeah Jews are bad look they
like this
talmud so only a person that's well
learned could truly tell you that this
is foolishness whereas somebody not
really familiar with the talud doesn't
know how to explain every single thing
doesn't know how to his left or right
could easily arrive at the wrong place
and that's one of the things that
happens with these debates that's what
happens with these types of teachings
where they're teaching people anything
and everything just for the sake of
getting a crowd this is no different
than giving people any type of medicine
because it does one thing good without
really considering the side effects
so when you
have the old
generation of sages compared to the new
generation of inventors of smart
people the reason why the Kish is
telling us this is
humorous it's because there's no
comparison while the current generation
is primarily focused on what can you
show me mean
now the older generation was solely
concerned
about what can I learn from this and
what kind of good versus what kind of
bad can come out of this before I do
anything with it I need to know the
risks I need to know all of the possible
outcomes every single possible thing
that could come from there this is also
one of the reasons why the sages tell us
that as a clear law
in to all
teachers that consider themselves
Wise Wise Men Must Be careful with the
words that they
say lest their students drink bitter
poisonous Waters and eventually end up
in geham this is a rebuke to different
type of teachers that teach but in a
fashion where only they understand
themsel like for example where we have
different things where we've said about
these Heretics like Manis Freedman
usually and we say look he says things
that are heretical we have the 13
principles of faith that there's reward
and Punishment the Torah will never
change he says things like there's no
reward and punishment that God will say
I'm sorry and apologize to everybody
these types of statements are heretical
he recently said that uh you know God is
at fault for your sins this is literally
even worse than idol worship so what do
his followers or what I like to call his
victims say to defend him no no you
don't understand
him okay explain him to me
then and really they never could explain
him but the funny thing is is what they
don't realize is that if you're a public
speaker and you're speaking to the
public especially via internet
if you're truly a wise person you have
to take everything into consideration
meaning you have to take into
consideration what will come out of my
mouth and enter their
mind will they understand what I'm
saying or will only some unique special
people understand what I'm saying
because if only a few people are going
to understand this particular speech
perhaps I should make some type of
statement that this is only meant for
specific people perhaps I shouldn't say
it at all perhaps I should clarify
myself so everyone could understand
me and if somebody makes that mistake
one
time fine fix it the next but if
somebody makes a
career of statements that apparently
nobody nobody understands not Scholars
not students no one understands all they
could all say is no one understands it's
something magical mystical perhaps maybe
I don't know in geham they're going
understand it in the seventh chamber
because in this world no one understands
it if no one understands it why are you
teaching it who's learning anything if
you're not if you're not explaining
yourself if you're saying God will
apologize to you
to a normal
person that means you are a heretic you
think you're God you think that God owes
you something that's what that means to
a normal person but if you have a
different
meaning then
please tell
us show us this wisdom of yours that no
one's ever heard
of because anytime somebody has watched
it without already being poisoned by the
heresy but only by knowing tah within
two seconds they literally want to put
their fingers in their ears to not hear
this horrible statement and some of them
make the statement of the famous T
statement ofuma put dust in his
mouth how could he say such things but
his
students that are not
Scholars they don't understand either
either but they tell you don't
understand so apparently the scholars
don't understand smart people don't
understand the students don't understand
no one understands but it's still good
uh teachings apparently according to
some people why because uh it's been
happening for a long
time so here we see is
that if a person
wants just any bit of information just
in order to meet his immediate desire
there's a risk with it if you're going
to take any pill just because you don't
feel good you're also putting your life
on a line if you're going to listen to
anybody just because you want to listen
to
something be prepared that you may
listen to something that's
forbidden if you're going to go wherever
you're going to go without really
considering all of the things that could
happen with this trip you're putting a
lot of things on the line this is
something that's not common in the
current Generation by most of the
leaders out there simply because they're
the leaders of a generation that is
looking for immediate
gratification the previous generation
was led by the sages that didn't care
about immediate gratification they cared
about
outcome what is the outcome of this
statement
now this is one of the interesting musar
stories that can put things into
perspective
the by he brings a famous
story about a
fox a fox
that
spotted a field
full of the best grapes you can possibly
imagine and as soon as he tried to enter
this field he saw it's covered by a
fence he tried going through the fence
there was a hole in there but he
couldn't
fit but the grapes looked so
good he couldn't give up on it he said I
have to get this I have to get these
grapes
so what did he do he fasted he fasted
for a
week lost some weight went back to the
hole slipped right
in and he started feasting on the grapes
and since there was so many of them the
owner couldn't didn't know that he's
even there and he was there day and
night day and night enjoying
himself one day said okay okay I ate
enough grapes I'm tired of the grapes
time to
go he went back to the hole but
now he's got
representation can't fit in the
hole he says Whoa Harvest is coming up
soon if the owner sees me he he going to
kill me I got to get out of here what
did he do he fasted again he fasted for
a week and a half this time cuz now he
has some extra weight some extra
representation after a week and a half
of starving
himself slips through the hole climbs up
the mountain and looks down at the
valley and all these beautiful
grapes he
says what a world of Lies this
is I'm in the same place that I was
before I entered
you this is the world of
Lies a person that focuses on immediate
gratification doesn't realize all of the
things that they're going to have to
forsake as a result of
it and this leads us to the next
point when it comes to
business one of places that the
anti-semites
have
constantly captured Jewish people with a
hot hand or a
red-handed is in the world of
business where
unfortunately when you're looking for an
excuse to hate Jewish
people you don't have to look very far
because if you go into business whether
it's business of Jews or Gentiles you're
always going to find some people that
are crooked some people that are thieves
but if you're looking for an excuse to
hate Jews you're only going to look at
the side that has Jew
but the Torah itself warns us against
this in last week's
par tells
us what's really on the line
here in chapter
25 he tells us that we have to be honest
in business to the
extent that we're not allowed to even
own
a weight measuring system that's broken
needless to say one that's
intentionally uh manipulative where if
you have a weight system a scale where
you know that one party is going to uh
benefit while the other loses as a
result of this manipulation of the scale
you're not even allowed to own it and as
an actual that you're not allowed to own
a broken scale
why
because when the Jewish
people look at the Torah they can find
every answer to every question possible
but when they look at this they if
they're only looking at it from the
modern day perception they see there's
something wrong here why because first
it says you have to have honest business
honest scales not allowed to have these
these uh broken scales and then the next
verse talks about remember what Amal did
to
you what does one thing have to do with
the other I can understand if it talks
about the scales and it finishes the par
talks about business and it talks about
other parts of business but here it says
you have the
scales and then it talks about
amik what's the
connection Rashi
from 900 years ago extrapolated from
this the need for us to know that when
we as a Jewish
people are dishonest in
business we Empower
amalik that's why the two verses are
connected but
why why is it that dishonest Jewish
business business empowers the Nazis
empowers the anti-semites empowers the
people that are looking for an excuse to
destroy the Jewish people even without a
reason why does it why does what's the
connection between the two I mean
certainly there is non-jewish people
that are dishonest but you don't see any
programs and inquisitions against
them there are certainly plenty of
people from China that are cheating but
you don't see any country attacking them
for stealing billions of dollars because
of the fake Goods industry that they
have there's plenty of drug dealers in
different parts of South America but you
don't see anybody over there going to
war with those countries because they're
killing people in the streets there's
plenty of Thieves and and and and and
horrible people all over the world
needless to say in America needless to
say in every country but you don't see
complete annihilations or attempt to
annihilate entire people just because of
bad
business except the Jewish
people where
anytime there's a large part of us are
caught or accused of doing dishonest
business there's constant threats of
annihilation complete
Annihilation even to the ones that are
not related to it you saw 50 people
stealing money charging interest that's
obnox ious and predatory and now you
want to call you want to kill 15
million it's like saying one Mexican guy
robbed the bank so go and uh you know
conquer
Mexico one black guy uh beat up some old
ladies so go and uh destroy Africa like
it's this the stupidest thing in the
world that's because aadh is trying to
tell you here anti-Semitism is not part
of logic
it has nothing to do with
logic it has to do with a Divine hand in
the
world if you are a
superficial thinker of
today thinking that you need to get
immediate answers at face
value you're going to look at the Tor
and you're going to be
confused why because you're not going to
see the connection you're going to see
that one paragraph talks about
scales weights dishonest business
forbidden dishonest business the next
verse says don't forget your Archen
enemy Amal that did not fear
God destroy them okay but at least tell
me they're the ones that are cheating in
business maybe but no Rashi says that's
because Hashem is trying to teach you
anti-Semitism comes from his hand it's a
tool he
uses in order to get his children to do
chuva during this month of
alul is an opportunity for every single
Jew to change their
ways but this is simply another tool
that you're going to get to motivate you
if you are part of a dishonest business
or you know somebody that's a part of
dishonest business but yet doesn't
realize the ramifications you should let
them know every single transaction they
do dis honestly whether it's in a
lending business or a jewelry business
or a technology business or a car
business or any business they're in and
they're doing it dishonestly they should
know they are giving fuel to the next
Holocaust how our holy Torah tells us
the reason why these two things are
connected to each other is because of
the ultimate battle between good and
evil that began with yov
and yov being good good asav being
evil
asav is not just a
person but is literally the
representation of
evil and
this he
denied
the
complete monitoring
of a in this
world and and completely
disregarded any will of doing the right
thing from him came
amalik and amalik has the same letters
as the word me that's where it comes
from the word
me means twisted or distorted that's in
essence the mindset of of amalik the
mindset of adum is distorted they have
one thing that's true and they'll build
55 different Lies over
it still thinking because it has one
thing that's true that everything else
remains true as a
result all comes from his distorted
mentality because Amal has no desire to
do the right thing but Amal is given
power over the Jewish people when the
Jewish people act like him because yov
his name was also is that's our nation's
name is isra I'm is is also comes from
the word is Ison means to be straight
honest yov represented honesty and
therefore it says the
cleal that when the Jewish
people are dishonest in business such as
the example that's given in the tah here
in or in the mitvah and the mitvah
number
605 he says when a Jew is using a
scale but it's a dishonest
scale it's being double-faced why
because the scale is supposed to
represent that you are honest that you
want both sides to get what they deserve
but if it's a dishonest scale then it's
no different than the pig who has the
split hooves but doesn't chew his
cud he looks kosher but really he's not
on the inside when you have a scales
when you have a storefront you have a
business you have all types of fake
customer reviews that you're honest but
in reality you're a cheat it's double
whammy of evil because not only are you
cheating and planning to cheat but
you're representing something
honest this is the Twisted nature of
amalik
and therefore when am is
acts like Amal
acts then all of
the things that they do Empower
amalik instead of empowering the Jews
and when Amal gains more power it
attacks when do you go to war you go to
war when you have the most amount of
power when does anti-semitism happen
when Amal is at its highest power and
the more that
Jews go with dishonest business the more
they're empowering
amalik and the more they're actually
readying the next
Holocaust this is
why our sages teach
us that in the and in several other
places that when it comes to dishonest
business
what people don't realize is that it's
much worse than you can imagine you
could think listen what's the big deal
I'm only cheating him for 100 bucks I'm
only cheating him for $500 I'm only
cheating him for 50 million whatever I'm
cheating he has a lot of money he could
afford what you don't realize is the
damage of of dishonest business first
and foremost the PUK says to warn us
that we shouldn't have these
counterweights or two different
measuring systems one one honest and one
dishonest in order to teach us that if
you have this and you conduct this
honest business there's a promise from
Heaven that there's going to be a
measure for measure
judgment
that a person will be punished with the
fact that he wants to become wealthy he
will not only fail at becoming wealthy
but ultimately he will lose all of his
money that's the first
punishment this only history could show
you how this works a person looks like
he's ruling the world before you know it
he loses everything we've seen as the
already said over a hundred years ago
there's a lot more people that are
losing all of their wealth overnight in
modern day than any other time in
history a lot more people are gaining
wealth but at the same token we're
seeing a lot of people losing everything
overnight something that was that's
incomprehensible losing you know gaining
money takes a lot of time you know
usually takes time even if you made a
lot of money in a short period of time
it still takes time but losing money
literally could happen in one day just a
week ago I spoke to
somebody that had an extraordinary
business everything was going good and
in one day in literally one hour
everything was shut down everything was
shut down after a few some a few prayers
some chuva
things are uh getting back to themselves
and hopefully things will will improve
but literally he saw that within one
second a business that took him a long
time to build in one second it was it
was destroyed one
second something that was generating
money and everything everything one
second destroyed and this is something
that's happening more and
more anytime something like that happens
to a person they need to check a couple
things number
one are you honest in business number
two are you giving M you using the money
not just for to buy more stuff in the
world are you actually giving the right
amount of staka number three are you are
you actually keeping the
MIT whether it's morality or it's
Shabbat or you know things that are the
foundation of Judaism
if a person has a check marks where he's
doing all the right things he has
nothing to worry about if he's got a few
X's where he's missing Shabbat he's
missing morality he's missing then he
has a lot to worry
about but a person that steals as a
business they simply should know they're
guaranteed to lose all of it it's only a
matter of time and we've seen
billionaires lose a fortune lose
everything in recent years something
that never happened
before at least not as often the second
thing the Torah
says is that one of the other measure
for measures judgments from Heaven on
such a
thing is that aside from
poverty the person will also lose their
house because the verse says you should
not have this measure in your house in
order to tell you then if you do you'll
lose the house
and
lastly that if a person is honest in
their
business then you'll have you'll
eventually
succeed
now some people may not be scared of
losing because they have so much and
they figure how could I lose
everything Hashem has to destroy the
whole world in order to take all the
real estate all the stocks all the
Bitcoins all the private companies yes
the destroy the whole world just to take
all the money no no you forgot he
doesn't have to take all the money he
can just simply take you instead of the
money and person said yeah but I gave a
lot of sta so I'll be in a good place
wrong why because the page 88b says the
reason why the tah finishes with the
words
anyone that does these all of these is
in order to compare the crime of
immorality to dishonest
business to tell you that when a when a
Jew is dishonest in their business it's
actually worse than
immorality it's worse than adultery it's
worse than prostitution it's worse than
wasting seed it's worse than whatever
immorality you can think of why is it
worse I mean technically if you look at
the at the punishment itself certainly
wasting seed or adultery or or or any of
the other ones that are there are the
punishment is much worse so why is thear
saying that dishonest business is
worse because anytime a
person
stole in
business but in a way of doing business
it's very different than if somebody
committed
immorality because if he committed
immorality he knows he did something
wrong he doesn't need the rabbi to
remind him that cheating on his wife and
committing adultery is wrong he doesn't
need to remind her that cheating on her
husband and committing immorality is
wrong she knows he doesn't need to
remind him that wasting seed is wrong
why his body his own body his own Nish
already feels it
he doesn't need to tell him that
immorality is wrong why because you know
it already and therefore you know that
you have to do chuba for it on the other
hand when somebody makes it their
business to steal where they're in one
of these cash advanced
businesses and they're in a predatory
lending industry that's charging 50 500
you know 4,000% interest all types of
ridiculous number
numbers and you think this is an honest
business you think that this is good
business what you've done is you've
turned the pig into a kosher animal and
therefore the person that's in that
business whether it's the cash advance
business or any other dishonest business
they don't see what they're doing as
wrong and therefore they never do cha
for
it so while the guy that committed
adultery knows what he did is WR wrong
and may not do cha for it now but
perhaps down the down the line he will
do because he always knows it was wrong
but the guy that cheated in business
never thought about it being wrong why
listen I was just making money I was
hustling he doesn't realize hustling is
not allowed in
Judaism because it's that means
dishonest business the real meaning of
hustling means dishonest business it's
not allowed in
Judaism so going back
to our
original topic or source of the topic
which is the debate between
the Primitive ancient
wisdom versus the modern
day the Kish tells
us that the reason why the sages with
all of their wisdom chose not to utilize
that wisdom wisdom and make the same
type of modern day inventions like we
have today is because they saw that the
outcome would create more damage than
good when a person is looking at things
from
a the perspective of Torah they're
looking at it from the perspective of
wisdom which looks at things from every
single facet that you can number one is
it allowed according to God or not
number two what did the sages have to
say about it number three what could go
wrong number four do I really understand
it enough to answer these
questions and the list of questions goes
on and on and all of a sudden you start
finding yourself to be like a talur
scholar asking 50 million questions
about something that seems superficial
and simple to the average
person all of a sudden the format of the
T
make sense to you because if you want to
make the right decision it's not just
asking
questions it's knowing which questions
to ask and knowing who to
ask and that's why when the families of
GMU and a
Vitas were originally
viewed by some people as greedy people
they explained
themselves and therefore got everyone to
understand that their reasoning is
good who are
these
family page 38a say that the Galu family
had possessed the art of making
the the showbread that they used the bet
mikdash that they had 12
loaves put into the
place and stay hot like they just came
out of the oven for an entire
week
after they were there for a whole week
stayed hot like they just came out of
the oven without being connected to
anything without being inside an oven
being outside they would take them out
simultaneously replacing them with a new
dozen breads at the same time so there's
never a time where there's no bread in
there and then they were able to give
them to the people to to the quim to eat
them but somebody asked them how do you
do it how does the bread stay hot for a
week even if it's I'm not going to take
your job for the business or for the bet
mikdash I just want to do it at home I
want to make a piece of bread at stays
hot for a week and just eat it whenever
I
want they wouldn't disclose the secret
the same goes with the avitas family
atina family who
had knowledge of how to make
the where it would have a pillar of
smoke go all the way to the
sky that's completely
straight by adding this special grass to
it when they were asked why you know
tell us how to do it even if we're not
doing it for the BET mikdash just just I
don't know I want to have something cool
my
house didn't didn't disclose it
initially the people said ah you guys
are greedy what's going to happen when
you're dead no one's going to know how
to do it anymore you just want to save
your own uh you know your own money your
own Traditions but you want to share it
said no no no it has nothing to do with
that it has nothing to do with that it
has nothing to do with money it's the
fact that we know that if we give you
the
secret there's nothing that's going to
stop you
from sharing that secret with someone
else and even if you share that secret
with someone that's also
good there's nothing that's stopping the
next person from sharing that secret
with the next person and at some point
or
another somebody that's a thief somebody
that's dishonest somebody that's an
enemy of God will find this secret and
will then utilize this whole secret for
idolatrous reasons will utilize it to
steal money will utilize it to do their
own interest even if their interest is
against the people's interest and
therefore it's better that this secret
dies with
us than it ever be used by someone that
can manipulate
it after the sages heard this they knew
that
wisdom is what caused this decision to
be
made this is the difference between the
sages ancient wisdom and what we have
today we have today is a world that's
comprised of people that can invent
things and do
things but if we want to benefit from
the sages we can't be part of the crowd
we have to always exclude ourselves we
have to evaluate things from a Jewish
perspective
we have to analyze things ask ourselves
do we really understand the issue at
hand is this allowed according to God or
not what did the sages have to
do what do they have to say about this
how do we analyze each and every single
topic in our life in such a fashion if
not for the wisdom of the sages and
since none of us are becoming sages
overnight this is the reason why we need
as many as many Torah Scholars as we
possibly can get
to help them to support them to make
sure they continue teaching and learning
because this is the wisdom that kept our
nation alive all these years because
while they did good and they obviously
produced good there's always some of us
that rejected that
wisdom and in fact we're the cause of
anti-Semitism by doing dis honest
business and empowering amalik
we're both part of the same Nation when
the enemy
judges he's judging everyone
together this is the reason why each and
every single person that acquires wisdom
has a certain level of
obligation to teach to
help to make sure to
reproduce this type of mindset this type
of thought process this type of
Lifestyle now
you don't have to necessarily be a very
wise person in order to know that this
is
wisdom but you do have to have some
courage in order to teach it in order to
live it this is why the
prophet
Isaiah says that if a person simply
looks at The Superficial things like
fasting and all of the exterior things
thinking that this is the will of God
they're mistaken as he says in chapter
58:3 why did we
fast and you did not see it why did we
afflict our souls and you did not know
this is the people complaining to God
because he's still punishing them
despite them you know
fasting and the prophet answers in the
name of God and he says behold on your
fast day you seek out personal gain and
you extort all your debts because you
fast for grievance and strife to strike
each other
with your
debts uh with a wicked fist you do not
fast as be Fitz this
day to make your voice heard above can
uh to make your voice heard above can
such be the fast that I choose a day
when man merely afflicts
himself in so many
words says if you're going to show up to
yip fasting without changing your
behavior the fast is a waste of time
what is looking for is a change in our
hearts a change in our
behaviors once a person changes their
heart changes their behavior then that's
going to put them in a certain position
of Purity and more importantly it's
going to give them a certain amount of
responsibility to share this
information now one question that this
uh Chapter 58 answers a question that a
lot of people ask and we'll finish it
with this is that some people ask me how
do you know if your chuva was
accepted how do you know if you Chua is
accepted did cha two three four five six
years ago how do I know if it's
accepted the prophet
says ancient ruins will be rebuilt
through you and you will restore
Generations old
foundations and they will call you
repairer of the breach and restore of
the paths of
habitation this is in the same chapter
58:12 over there tell us that here the
prophet is telling us that after a
person does
chuva forsakes the bad goes on the right
path is going to give that person
opportunities to build not just their
own life but other people's lives other
families other
communities that are going to be rebuilt
old family
names all family names of the ramban
family names of the Kish family names of
all of the great sages that have
descendants that live in this generation
he's going to give those people that
have gone off an opportunity to come
back through you why through you CU you
chose the right path soem to show you
that he wants your ways he wants you to
continue he's going to allow other
people to go on your path as
well and you will restore Generations
old foundations and they will call you
repairer of the
breach and restore of the paths of
habitation
say when they come to you you're going
to have the ability to help
them do cha and turn from being Wicked
to
righteous so if you're asking how do I
know if Hashem accepted my Chu I'm
already keeping Shabbat for a few years
I'm already doing this I'm already doing
that you know that's what people ask all
the
time the answer the prophet says is
simple if is giv you many opportunities
to help people do
chuv that means that wants to build
through you and if he wants to build
through you that means you're good to be
built
upon this two will give each and every
single one of us something to build on
if we're not exactly there yet and no
one's building upon us and no one's
asking us for any help then certainly
this should be encouraging for us to do
more So eventually we get to that
point if we are in a dishonest business
this should be a critical note to take
into account that you heard this today
because is telling you it's time to
leave the dishonest business today if
you have the mindset that the talud is
not good perhaps you should
reconsider simply because you don't know
doesn't mean that uh you know it's
whatever you don't know is not good
there's a lot there's a lot of the
there's a lot of tah out there and this
will give each and every single one of
us enough enough ammunition to R at the
big day of Rashana and eventually yum
with something in our hands something
we've produced some good we did
something good we learned some new uh
good thing we've took upon some bad
thing that we've uh given up all of
these things now is the time to do it
and we'll continue to learn this series
uh you know over the next few months not
sure when the next Che of this series is
going to be because we're going to be on
the trip for a little while uh in
but our next sh is going to be on
Wednesday a this different series of
stump the
rabbi that will be our final Shure for a
little while until we uh get back into
uh things hopefully it's going to be
while I'm still in Israel but again I
don't know the schedule once I'm there
thanks again for learning with me mayem
bless each and every single one of you
there are several thousand shim on our
YouTube channel or on the app that you
can watch I'm sure that none of you have
watched all of them and even if you have
none of you remember all of them because
even I myself don't remember all of them
even though I gave them so there's a lot
to learn there's a lot to do and each
and every one of us will take advantage
of all of it
