[Music] tonight uh we're continuing our series of the jewish ash kafa tonight's you will be foreign that continue to do the will of hashem despite the difficulties that are out there with that being going to win the next big case they're going to uh cure the biggest disease people are very ambitious when it comes to materialism but when it comes to spirituality when it comes to uh serving akados bohu and learning his torah suddenly be people become very very humble and of course this humility that has only says is a flawed sense of humility it's not real humility but it's rather the yetzera so how do we know whether our our good traits are good or bad you know whether we're using the good for good or we're using the uh uh the good for bad and that's in essence the next section he says if a bad trait is bad then a good trait being misused is even worse than that and an impediment because the teachers of musa the teachers of morals have written much about every bad trait explaining its faults and condemning it at great length investigating remedies for for it and offering cures for it in their treaties but the damage caused by a good trait that is out of place is both painful and severe out of humility and sense of modesty a person is discouraged from acquiring wisdom how happy he would be have he been armed with uh armed in this instance with the trait of boldness and audacity when his conscience was berating him for having failed for having left torah the pure source of life so in this first section the khazanesh tells us that yes of course we have bad traits everyone knows about bad traits people that are angry stingy arrogant chasing all types of pride people that have all types of bad traits that are out there and every one of us knows that there's a stinginess and lack of donations that the veterinary dust was destroyed the exile for the last 2 000 years that we have has not been because of bad traits but rather because of a misuse of good traits got it i'll pay for the whole thing just don't embarrass me in front of everybody let me stay the host in his arrogance in his disgusting nature says no get out and this bhagavata gets up sees that none of the rabbis that are there say anything and says to himself that says since the rabbis were seated at this event and did not rebuke him the host for the way he treated me it's evident that what rabbis but if we accept this sacrifice from him then the people are going to say that blemished animals are now allowed to be offered in the uh betamigdash because even though it's coming from the you need to have in order to overcome anger they give you all the tools to overcome anxiety they give you all the tools in order to overcome pride and all of the other horrible things extensive writing about all of it anyone that truly wants to overcome bad traits that they have there is a wealth of teachings that the torah has and our sages have for you to overcome these things it doesn't take a day or a week and it can't be done on one leg but nonetheless it can be done and it should be done and it has to be done as the gummy filner says this is the point of man to overcome these obstacles that you have which are bad character traits but nonetheless this is not the end of it all why because sometimes these character traits that look good that are good end up being misused and those misused bad those misused good character traits end up becoming a lot more venomous a lot more dangerous than the bad character traits because a person doesn't even know he's bad because he thinks he's humble doesn't know that he's bad because he thinks that his his his trait is good overall so therefore whatever he does with this trade is good but our teachers our sages say otherwise says the khazonesh this person that used his good character traits of humility in an inappropriate way justified him not learning not advancing further in a torah and climbing a higher ladder all of a sudden he wanted to use his humility for the sake of not learning to allah for the sake of not serving hashem even better why he says that had he had boldness and audacity when his conscience was berating him for having failed here he has lived most of his life and soon everything will be lost forever and as he uh is in essence what he's thinking but it is in the imagination though he sees the raised eyebrows of some people and this causes him to feel ashamed and he cannot overcome this false image produced by his imagination here this is another section that the i have to clarify that when a person has this misused character trait he's looking at humility pride or whatever it is that it's a trait that he has and he misuses it what ends up happening is that one bad thing leads to another one bad thing leads to another he thinks now listen i'm already too old to do this i'm already uh i'm not big enough to do this i uh you know he's he's justifying doing bad by something good now one of the things that happens at that time it's a domino effect is that his imagination starts developing in his imagination he starts justifying his decision why based on what other people say thinking wait if i write the letter and i say that a missionary is not allowed in a synagogue or anywhere near the jewish people then everyone's going to say wait a minute who is he to say such a thing what does he think he's the biggest rabbi in the world or is he to tell us that god said death penalty to shabbat who is what does he think he is what does he think he's rambam yeah but the rambam said it that is a giant in torah tell me someone that's an amazing person that has the ability to say the truth suddenly turning that person into a balmoon a person that has a defect he can't speak he can't synagogue big people that are leaders in their own community big people that are known on the internet known in the world wide web known in the jewish communities if you say their name you're going to have a few people know who these people are they too have a position of influence and they too many times are scared to utilize this position of influence for the sake of rebuking why shalom don't create a machete we want peace everybody wants peace but fake peace fake peace like with the palestinians that's what we want we want fake peace until they shoot rockets at us want fake peace until they invite christian missionaries into our synagogues that's the peace we want that's the peace we have is here we have a good trait being misused across the board unfortunately people are scared to give their opinions many times or worse yet sometimes the big rabbi and this too i was a witness to in the last few weeks and in the past also but more so in the last few weeks than ever i literally saw with my own eyes i spoke to one of the doleado i'm going to tell you a story i'm not going to say the name i spoke to one of the dollar doll i don't know hashem gave gave me some type of merit i helpers no no he's not going to sign what do you mean but he told me he's going to sign the door doesn't change his mind what happened what happened did it stop oh no no we need somebody else to sign what happens is sometimes the helpers the the whoever else is around they decide that he needs to be humbler he needs to be smaller he needs to not do this and not get himself involved why it's not his business yeah but he said it's his business he said he should do it he said he's gonna do it how are you there to decide for him oh you know he's this and he's that oh how come when it came to building a new yeshiva or a new building a new campaign he wasn't this or that or the other thing when you needed a signature to raise money when you needed his signature to do something for something else there was no problem getting it he was able he was capable he was doing everything but suddenly when it comes for the sake of saving army said for missionaries all of a sudden we have humility and not even humility from the person itself from somebody on his behalf greatest greatest trait in the world have humility for somebody else this is like the most bizarre thing you'll ever gonna see and i've seen this too and not with one but two dollar doll not one but two why the butter kareem this is something we've had already for thousands of years elisha navi was one of the most the everything they know better this sabotage is also a false sense of humility a false sense of of a lot of things all types of so-called good traits they're all coming from a good place the road to hell is full of good intentions and lots of footsteps unfortunately here this person has in his imagination what the eyebrows of some people are going to uh how are they going to be raised how are they going to be raised how is he doing this is he should they know what he's doing does she know what she's doing how is she making such a statement does she know what she's saying does he know what he's saying yeah we read it we saw it we we did it what's the problem yeah but you're not a rabbi so how could you say such a thing yeah but you're not a uh you know a dollar dosa how could you say what you're saying yeah but you're not a man so how could you say what you're saying yeah but you're not a woman how could you say what you're saying everybody's got a different reason of why you can't say what you say you're a rabbi you're not a rabbi you're this you're that everybody has their opinion especially when those people are only found inside your imagination now surely those people are found in real life the it's uh has many soldiers but the first soldiers that he sends are the ones that are inside our mind those are the first soldiers that he sends the imaginary soldiers and this person cannot overcome this false image produced by his imagination but a bit of chutzpah an audacity and he will see things right what are the thoughts of a mortal human being they fly away like a dream says why should you yield in the face of another person's assessment why shouldn't you yield when faced with endless shame that threatens you if you remain empty laboring futility and born for naught fortify yourself been adam clothe yourself and courage energize yourself and set about studying allah vigorously in so many words the where he's applying it to learning of allah we're applying it to everything really says the only reason why you justified in this particular example not growing further not aiming to be the biggest rabbi in the world not aiming to be the best best tummy yeshiva not aiming to be the best everything whatever you want to be the only reason why you did that is because of your imagination all of a sudden you decide to be humble all of a sudden you decided that you can't do all of a sudden that you are like almost you've turned yourself into a defect not because you're actually defective but rather because you're ashamed of what people are gonna say about you all of a sudden you're no longer opinionated you have a lot of opinions but you don't want to express them anymore this rabbit this imagination causes a person that can be a giant influence a giant contributor a giant in in in in good things and turns that person into a negative influence turns that person into evil why because as we saw in the story in the in the camps of belgium story those rabbis that saw the evil happening between this the host and barakamsa they didn't say anything that in itself that evil that quiet that they they stayed at that that that that fear of rebuking him that started the path that started the journey for even greater evils which eventually culminated with the destruction of the bitter magdash so a person is staying quiet and thinking no i'll stay imagination allow us to succeed in our imagination we're all uh positive we're all very very uh successful we're optimistic you know i'm gonna buy this lotto ticket i'm gonna win at least the grand prize at least maybe even two grand prizes i'm gonna apply for this job and i'm gonna get at least the job that i want plus fifty percent not uh not get a job i'm going to uh you know uh take this test i'm gonna get at least 90 out of 100 maybe even 95. i'm gonna do this and i'm gonna succeed when it comes to materialism we all have success why the world tells you be optimistic but when it comes to the spirituality when it comes to servitude of academic who all of a sudden everybody's humble you tell the guy listen you think you finish the shots this year this year or this lifetime no not this year this year can you finish the chest this year no i never finished this just in my life i know you didn't finish the session your entire life but can you finish it this year all of a sudden nah it's too much it's too late okay can you finish one more second one more second maybe every month ah too much is this is that how about this can you finish one more second the whole year the whole year one more second pick any one you want go my second mickey lights for like a little baby why don't you go do that i'll try how come if when i asked you you want to do this million dollar deal even though you don't have any money you set for sure you didn't even think about how you're going to pay for it but when i said finish them a second that's for a little baby all of a sudden you're not so sure what happened when i asked you what do you think about getting into this hotel business maybe we can buy this hotel you said you know what for sure you don't know anything about hotels in fact the only thing you know about hotels is how to steal their towels but when i tell you why don't you go tell the rabbi that he shouldn't bring the missionary to shul he said no i don't know i don't know anything about being a rabbi i don't know anybody being a rabbi i don't know if i can tell the rabbi how to be a rabbi yeah but you do know that the missionary is not good for you many people are asking this question what should we do what should you do cry foul to every single place you possibly can that's what you should do you should lose your mind if you live in that community unfortunately abu tai not enough people are losing their mind people are angered people are worried but not enough people are losing their mind i got a couple letters i got a couple of letters to read to you i got more but i got a couple letters to read to you one was was sent to our dear friend and rabbi rob mizaki a person that lives in a community says i listen to your lectures and i go to the boca raton synagogue what should we do as a community to fight against this travesty that's going on with pastor mario bremnick so far it seems like most people in the community are angered by this wicked decision especially my father who has first hand seen his relatives kidnapped by the church and christian missionaries and they themselves became missionaries it is a big pain people maldonado that literally has millions of followers zillions of dollars endless resources and all of them discuss openly without any shame in fact with a lot of zeal and pride how the number one target of their life's work is to convert the jewish people to christianity when we had him at boca raton synagogue uh with rabbi um goldberg we had a great time with him there's so many things going on we see the jubilee year coming yes the submitter years coming what does it have to do with israel israel is very important it's at the center of god's heart everything started in israel it's now
