we're back here on our Sunday night the based on the teachings of uh not just but how to become Aid uh or what is Aid at least uh tonight Sho is uh first and foremost we have a to everybody it's a month of full of Miracles and this month will be full of Miracles for all of the supporters all of the students all of the people that share our lectures and learn with us and support the organization will give [Music] and all of and all of the supporters that uh continue to help us uh do all the amazing things that the organization isem doing uh also for those of you that are big fans of the chuva music and the BH kids channels we got them back just a few days ago so if you haven't tuned in there's a few new things a few new videos in each Channel and there's going to be a bunch of new videos in the uh coming days and both of these channels uh as well lot of new stuff uh and also for those of you that have not contributed yet to our Kim the PES campaign please do we have a PES Campaign which uh is uh going to be feeding uh over 18,000 people uh 18,000 holy precious is uh Torah Scholars and their families uh we may surpass that uh by probably a few thousand but either way we have our first SAS event uh is going to be in a couple of days I believe it's going to be on Tuesday and then the second one is going to be a few days later so there going to be a uh twice uh for in the Merit of those that uh support and help and of course the each one of these uh thousand of that are going to be uh studying the the with us is going to get money uh from the organization to help them for the uh for the holidays like we do in each holiday day and every year and uh in addition to that there are hundreds and hundreds of families uh that uh are in need of help orphans widows sick people uh literally horror stories after Horror Story poor people that need our help uh we're doing everything we possibly can throughout the year but uh this time of the year is a time that needs even more extra help because a person knows from themsel if you prepare for for PES it's uh it's the time of the year that requires the most amount of money whether it's matah or it's the wine or it's the different things that the family needs uh this is a time of the year that there is really simply No Way Around It it requires a large investment whether you uh are rich or poor you need to do as much as you can uh because it's not just a custom or a nice thing to do this is every Jew must uh uh contribute to feed the poor uh before the holiday so if you're contributing uh you know uh uh$ 20 $30 a month uh that's very nice but you have to do even more than that why because you obviously know you need uh uh there's a lot more needed to feed the poor than just $20 and of course if that's all you could afford that's all you could afford that's why we say that sometimes the people that uh donate five or $10 a month are more precious in the eyes of Hashem and we appreciate them much more than some people that don't $100 or $200 a month why because we know that the guy that's donating $10 $20 a month that's literally more than uh he could afford and he's pushing himself or she's pushing herself to the absolute maximum because their uh living standards where they live in uh different parts of the world which bem we have we recently publicized a map of where all the different donors and students of uh our organization come from literally from all of the continents the only only place we don't have something is in Antarctica but I don't think we're going to get one there anytime soon uh other than that we literally have people in Africa in uh in the middle of Russia where uh literally some people sneak in and break through the uh the uh the legal threshold that doesn't even allow them to see the world uh we have people in the Middle East Abu Dhabi Dubai uh you know some of these uh countries that uh you'd never think there be a a person that's learning tah uh we have people from Thailand Japan uh South Korea and of course the regulars the Australia the uh you know the UK uh America Canada Israel you know all the all the obvious ones and uh of course the uh South America where you have in uh in Mexico you have Brazil you have bash Argentina lots of people from all over the world and not everybody has the same uh living standard some people are making uh 10 $20,000 a mon month and some people are making uh maybe maybe uh $10,000 a year in some cases even less uh so when a person that's uh you know making only a few hundred a month you know donates $10 it's a very very big deal in sh on the other hand when a person that's making $10,000 a month uh and is only contributing 10 $100 that's not really making that much uh that much of a uh uh you know a big deal in sh why because knows he gives you a whole lot more and uh therefore you have to find a way to uh to contribute more and the excuse that oh but my bills are very high that's only because people are making themselves live above their standards gives to those that give and uh we saw in the story that was publicized just this morning for one of our students for many years from Colombia uh that uh wanted to convert but was in an impossible situation uh I'll save you the details to Simply watch it yourself but in so many words uh this young sadik uh decided to make the contribution of a lifetime I know him for years he also helped us with making uh the first song for chuva music channel uh and uh he decided that uh on R he was going to contribute a full month salary which for him was $700 now to an American $700 is not going to get you through the month it's not even going to get you through the week in many cases uh but uh for him $700 a month is what he was making and he decided to contribute all of it to help us feed poor people uh for the rashash campaign that we had uh at the time and uh but he didn't expect any Miracles he didn't think that uh anything special was going to happen he simply wanted to do good because it's good to do good and as many of our other donors that have made major sacrifices have received miracles did not leave him hanging and he actually gave him a miracle of all miracles this poor guy that literally thought that he's simply never going to be able to convert never going to be able to be able to even leave his country literally within a c a couple of months Not only was he able to get out of this country get to the United States but also get to a uh FR community and convert literally within just a matter of a couple of months so literally that major sacrifice that m nees bought him a first class ticket TOA now to some people $700 is a uh is all the money in the world which was to him and he made that sacrifice other people $700 is not even a day's paycheck they make a whole lot more than that every person has to do their own calculations because many people ask for everything they ask him for p they ask him for health they ask him for Z they ask him for a lot of different things and this is the time of the year where you have to make sure that you're fair with your request because if you want to make hashem's happy you have to make his kids happy this is one of the things that uh I always try to emphasize because at the end of the day it's a you're doing yourself a service you're doing yourself a favor by doing it so with that being said we'll move on into the lecture and get into a section of uh of theat that uh is unlike any lecture that you're typically going to hear we covered parts of it uh to a certain extent when we spoke and we learned together thees of the ran where a person has to sanctify themselves uh before they eat and and how they eat and so on but theat takes it a step further uh and really gives us a impression of something that most people don't even know exist when people view sikim they think that theim uh of today or previous years became these because they have a good memory or they're very very smart or they they read a lot of books and while all of those things may very well be true and most likely are true that's not necessarily what makes somebody into a gador into a sadik uh it's a lot of the things that uh you don't see are uh the things that actually Elevate the person to places that uh pretty much the world you know is unaware of now one of the main things that uh I've noticed when and I've learned from sikim especially my own very dear raim uh is aside from their mannerisms and how much they love Jews and how much they're very careful with you know whether it's uh you know not hurting anybody or it's a uh you know protecting their speech uh protecting their time their eyes all of those this different things and their in general their mannerisms are a world of difference from the uh the way of the world one of the things that I was privy to see is uh a sadik eat now this may not seem like a big deal because most people they you know you look at any person eat and um it looks like every other person of course there are some people that are disgusting and when they eat the only thing you can think of is perhaps the zoo uh when the lion eats but I'm talking about normal people when they eat they go to a uh nice restaurant usually they behave themselves uh even if they don't behave themselves at home and um and one of the things that uh you get to see uh from the sikim when they eat is uh they eat like everybody else but if you knew what they're thinking about while they eat what they thought about before they eat and how they treat their body after they eat your impression of it would be a world of difference it's not for not theik become and tonight the will give us a quick glance an impression a uh somewhat of an understanding into the closed mystical doors of the kitchen of the sadik because this is not necessarily something that's talked about quite frankly the vast majority of the people in the world will never even get to see it uh or learn about it anywhere else because this is the ways of theim are very very different and there are just certain lessons that uh even if you read it in a book a thousand times you're never going to understand it until you see it or until you do it and one of the things that perhaps you may think about as we learn what theat is going to teach us tonight is Yip in essence Yip for theim is every day how so we'll get to see that they eat like us as far as they eat food they're not eating we're not talking about people that eating carobs like abish and his son did outside of the cave for for 13 years no that's not what I'm talking about they eat food whether it's the uh chicken meat rice whatever it is that people eat they eat but their mindset is very different their thought process is very different their mannerisms are very different and this daily act that everyone has to do in order to stay alive can be much more than than what we make it to be now even though some of the things that you're going to learn perhaps even most of what we learned today is not going to be applicable to the overwhelming majority of us at least not Beyond a few days or let's just call it a week it is an extremely valuable lesson to make sure that everybody knows where they stand because there are times where a person learns toah and does not know how to apply it the right way either because they don't ask the rabbi or because they don't have or uh different number of reasons and instead of the Torah being the potion of life it becomes the potion of death perhaps we'll talk about that at some point too but before we get ahead of ourselves with all of the other things let's just get into what the has to tell us the in volume 3 page 221 has a special prayer that sikim he would do different sikim had different prayers and he would say he would plead to Hashem before eating saying meaning Father in Heaven Help me and save me that I may break my desire for food may I eat a minimum only as much as I need to live and may I do so in Holiness and Purity for the sake of your name alone already you see the perspective of theim about food is very much different than the perspective of regular people people spend an enormous amount of time and energy and money around food literally trillions of dollars go into food into the food business whether it's food at home or food at restaurants food at events people literally decide whether they're going to go somewhere or not based on the food that's going to be served are they going to have a lecture okay is there going to be any food no no food I'm not going I'm busy wait but I don't before a minute ago you were asking if they're going to have food what if they're busy what difference if they're going to have food no no if they didn't if they had food then I would go there cuz I might as well just eat over there and eat my dinner oh so you're really only going to the lecture for the food and unfortunately the mentality of people is uh revolving around food breakfast could sometime take a person two to three hours the eating itself could take 20 minutes 10 minutes even but what you're going to eat and how you're going to eat and where you're going to order from where you're going to go to eat that process many times is a enormous waste of life lunch sometimes is even worse sometimes people can prepare for lunch two three days in advance a week in advance they'll make reservations at a specific restaurant weeks in advance just so they're able to eat their steak or chicken or whatever it is at that specific specific restaurant at that specific time when they're allowed to enter the premises just to eat lunch and dinner of course sometimes is worse than all people spend an enormous amount of time thinking about food if a person is very health conscious they make sure to share their opinion about other people's food constantly they rebuke people without second thought oh why you eating that you know it's fattening you know it kills people you know it's cancerous you know it could clog your lungs you know it could clog this in reality you would hope that that person that's rebuking you about food while you're eating it their lungs would be clogged or at least their mouth would be clogged because you didn't ask them to tell you uh about how to observe your diet and uh what you know whether they uh they should give you their advice or not but sometimes people feel like it's an absolute necessity to share their knowledge if you want to call it that about food that you're eating because they obviously you know they're eating perfect you know I used to eat the same thing but I stopped it and I feel so much better now you should do it too now if you tell that same person why don't you tell people that they should keep why don't you tell people that they uh should be more modest no I don't want to you know pry into their life it's too personal oh so telling people what to eat and how to eat and how they're going to die because they're eating what they're eating you have no problem doing that even with complete strangers but to tell your friends family that they should protect their n by stopping violating the toah that you don't want to intrude this unfortunately is one of the tools of the Satan to make you think that the the good is bad and the bad is good but without more details necessary everyone knows that there's an enormous amount of energy spent thinking about food what to eat how it affected you and all of the different things well wants to take us to a different place regardless of what you eat in fact have said that if you know how to sanctify yourself properly before eating no food can hurt you even if it's poisonous we have famous story of RAF where uh we've said this story before but it's a story that's worth telling a thousand times the raban would wait for him each night when he would come back from the shim he would give many times you would come very late but one night it was extra late so she told him I'm going to leave you a part of food so when you get home eat of course you didn't want want to upset the raban said of course going to eat no problem the next morning the raban sees that the pot is full she comes to Rya says Rabbi I asked you to please eat why didn't you eat goes no no raban E I ate I ate as soon as I got home I ate I took some bread I ate with the uh what you had in the pot what do you mean you ate the pot is full it hasn't been touched go no I'm not going to lie I ate I had there was a p over there and I started eating she went back into the kitchen and then she realized what happened she goes oh what did you do and those days life was a little different than today and when somebody wanted to have their colors hardened and for other you know reasons as well they would have to make starch know today if you take your dress shirts and things like that to the dry cleaner they ask you if you want starch you don't want starch if you want your collar hard if you want them loose and if somebody wanted to have a their colors hardened they had to make starch at home and uh they would do it they would cook it was so enamored with the tah so completely removed from the physicalities of the world that when he got home he saw that there was a pot he just took whatever is in the pot and started dipping his uh bread in a little bowl that he had and ate not thinking is have potatoes that have tomatoes does they have red sauce white sauce does they have meat no he just start started eating instead of eating the part of food that was delicious that the raban left him he ate the starch sure it's not exactly the healthiest thing in the world but none of it affected him in a negative way because he Sanctified himself and was completely oblivious to The Taste Buds that people spend so much time focusing on tells us the folls the following when sitting down to a meal before washing your hands recite the of meaning before you even eat there is a preparation process he's not talking about preparation process for yum Kip preparation process for the last meal before yum Kip preparation process for sud Shabbat no no any meal again this is not necessarily something that your average uh Jew is going to do but needless to say this will give us a perspective of what's the mindset of theik who are the real that we look up to that we praise that we learn their Torah and he tells us before even sitting down to the meal and before even doing before washing your hands recite the famous of from over 700 years ago we're going to go into that and see what this is all about but he says after that then after you've eating some bread you say a different prayer meaning that and he tells us what the prayer is meaning that it's not about asking a wife that she make three salads or five salads or 15 salads or 18 salads or what are you about to eat whether it's this or it's that sometimes people do not realize that their particular nature about food causes more damage than the uh good taste buds or the the the can ever benefit from where they'll insult their wife because she didn't cook a meal that is salty enough or is not or is too salty not realizing that by criticizing your wife you literally in some cases committed murder other times a person is going to tell somebody else listen I uh I like you you know but uh I'm becoming more religious so I don't eat meat anymore why not why aren't you eating meat well it's because I heard some rabis say that there's really no K anymore all the meat is all the butchers are liars so I'm not eating meat anymore and I know that you eat meat at your house so I can't eat by you anymore now they may think that uh they're being righteous but unfortunately it's the exact opposite it reminds me of uh something I heard from my ra where uh the uh the Bak pasin that uh is not something that uh you need to follow unlike what the pin and he had all different types of reasons uh the uh B the same thing said there's no need for for observance of anymore and of course you know again there's a there's a leniency in regards to some people want to observe it and have the Kim some people don't but when the that way one of the people saw it and lost his mind and went to every Rabbi to have a letter signed against him why to make sure that everybody knows he doesn't know what he's talking about when he came to theam theam instead of signing he wrote so the guy asked him what does that mean he says someone someone that takes honor in bringing other people down also has no share of the world to come meaning you that are getting the letter signed against this you also have no share of the world to come many times people don't realize that they make a mistake oh I'm not going to come to your house because you eat meat you could have said I'm busy you could have said I uh I prefer to stay home could have said a million and a half different things but to make the other Jew feel less religious than you because you decide to take a more stringent approach that's not exactly Anyway by the way um is not exactly making you more righteous in fact there's a very good chance you just lost your with that stupidity also makes me think of this group of uh people they used to like to make fun of women that don't that that wear wigs used to like make fun of they would gather a group of people and uh make fun of women that wear wigs so if one woman came in there to this little Gom party and she was wearing a wig literally they would rip her apart oh how could you wear a wig you know and sometimes they throw my name in there also Rabon said it's not allowed because of this because of that you're right it's not you shouldn't wear a wig but all of you that just embarrassed her in public or even when she wasn't there you said about everybody all of you have no share of the world to come either so okay so they won't burn you with a wig but they'll burn you with the many time people are not careful with their speech as they are with other things and uh is in essence trying to give us a different perspective of things says before you even eat before you even eat take some time to read the special prayer by R before you ask your wife what she cooked before you criticize before you decide you're hungry to eat for two people or for one do this prayer why because this prayer is going to put you in the right mindset to eat Shalom said that the lust for food is the most difficult one why while other lusts that a person has whether it be money women you know honor they start at a later stage of Life person gets to let's say 18 19 years old starts becoming money hungry Wants To Be A Millionaire Rabbi I want to be really successful I want to be a mover and Shaker I want to do this I want to build things I want to help people no all you want to do is be a showoff but okay you want to imagine yourself to help people fine and usually that starts at you know 16 18 19 they start seeing people with watches they start seeing people with cars they want to have the same thing they don't necessarily want to do the same work sometimes they don't want to work at all but nonetheless they uh they want the benefits when it comes to women also starts a little early than that depending on where you live and how you live honor starts a later than that especially once a person has a few things that they consider success they want people to respect them and these things Wayne over time money the desire for money the desire for women desire for you know these things as a person gets older they start caring less and less about it honor is one thing that continues to grow as a person gets older but generally speaking the other two start later and uh they're over a little later the lust for food says RAB of bre that starts at Birth immediately as a person is born their number one lust is food and that continues until the last day of their life meaning that in order to remove the lust of food and get it to a place where you could utilize it for Holiness you have to break the nature of the person a person has to change their nature so what is telling us in essence is something that can help a person break their nature over time it doesn't happen after one time or two times or 10 times or 100 times but nonetheless say this is the process he says before you eat say this prayer prayer that was written 700 years ago by there are different versions of this prayer we're going to use the one that's in the SE called in page 119 that uh brings us to prayer says as follows on that day what's that day which day the day that he's going to eat day that he's ready to eat that's not what is saying that's what is saying the day he's GNA eat meaning every day this is what he's supposed to do but what's not talking about says that day meaning the day that he's doing Chua the day that he's ready to become a servant of hem the day she's ready to become a servant of hem meaning stop with the nonsense stop with all of the things you know are forbidden start doing Chu now you don't know all of the mitat you have to do but you certainly know the sins that you're making the day that you are ready to say I'm sorry to hasem and start a new on that day says he should remove all of the stop all of the crimes that he's making and make himself or herself like the day they were born where they don't have an obligation and they don't have any uh thing for their favor meaning there you start off they even we're not calculating obviously the uh previous carnations so on everyone is born with a clean slate the baby doesn't have any sins he doesn't have any MIT so on that day that you have decided I'm stopping with the drugs stopping with the stealing stopping with the IM modesty stopping with all stop that's it enough enough's enough I know it's bad I'm not going to do it anymore I gotta do chva and on that day he is gonna know which path to take meaning the right path to take so he doesn't get confused and go on the wrong path again and this is the way that's going to bring him to Do complete CH because he's going to make himself as if he's unburdening himself from the sins and the iniquities that he has done and let him not be scared from the ideas that he's having or the anxiety that he's getting once he starts thinking of all the sins that he's made don't let that stop you and he thinks to himself how could I even dare show my face after I've sinned sins that I didn't know her sins sins that I knew were sins sins that I did T intentionally against AEM there's a difference these three levels of sins ones you didn't know about ones you knew but didn't care you just simply had a desire and ones you actually knew and you went against hem because you wanted to punish AEM says these mind the your mind is thinking how could I possibly show my face and do chuva who who am I to do chuva I made so many sins this sin and that sin meaning who remembers all of their sins I did so many different things there's no number to the amount of sins that I made sometimes people say listen Rabbi I did CH I don't know why why my life is still difficult what else did I I don't know what what sin did I do first of all how would I know what sin you did second of all if you think that you have fixed everything for sure you didn't fix everything why because a person the more they learn about the to the more they realize there's a lot to fix it may not be the obvious ones that you thought which you perhaps did fix them but certainly it's other things and even if you fixed perhaps you're not doing it anymore that doesn't mean that everything is wiped out it's a lot you know it's once a person throws a bunch of Filth into a field even after he realizes okay you know what it's a bad mistake so let me just clean the doorway okay so you clean the doorway but the field is still full of Filth you still have to clean the rest of it the fact that you're not going to do it again is good but that doesn't remove the filter you threw there so a person is going to think listen I me so many sins how can I possibly do chuva how can I possibly repent after everything that I've done and how can I possibly come in front of hem I'm like a thief that was caught keep and you're going to think how could I be in the presence of hem after I've made all of these sins how am I even going to be able to keep and observe all of his laws after all of these sins that I've made but says don't think like that don't think like that because first and foremost you should know the the one that entices you to sin the the evil inclination sits on a person's heart at all times just like the says in multiple places and he's the one that's trying to convince you not to do chv every day the renews himself and tries new strategies to cause you to make more sins and if you're in the process of doing chuva he tries to discourage you from doing chuva look you made sins okay so you stop doing this but uh you realize you still have a lot of things to continue look the rabbi himself just said that uh nobody's clean so what's the point just because nobody's perfect doesn't mean they shouldn't try to perfect themselves doesn't mean they should try to become better but the the evil inclination will try to convince a person that if you can't be perfect you might as well well be completely evil and tries to fool him to make him stumble and bring his heart from one bad idea to another don't follow the says just think about and how his Perfection his Mercy is available at all time and his hand is always out there reaching out to anyone that wants to do chuva anyone that wants to repent Hashem has his hand out to them come is willing to stretch out his hand to accept you to do chba why because once you abandon the evil he'll renew your heart and on that day where a person decides that they're going to become purified and they're going to abandon the horrible ways of the past and they're going to in essence allow their soul to follow in the way of hm to be a servant of hem and bring their head down bow to Hashem and in essence say I'm sorry I'm not going to do it this is all the preparation to the prayer this is not the prayer itself of because says read the prayer this is telling us before you do the prayer this is the preparation first you have to be ready to abandon the sins you have an addiction you have bad traits that you know all those different things if you're ready don't say the prayer if you're still going to be violating Shabbat don't say the prayer if you're still going to be in a corrupt business don't say the prayer if you're still going to be cheating on your wife or your husband you're just lying to yourself and you're lying to hm makes things worse but if you're ready to stop and start a new and obviously you need aem's help to renew your heart to help you overcome the to beat him to stop falling for his traps says once you prepare yourself say as follows says I sinned the three different levels of sin like I explained before this way and that way meaning more than you even know to count more than you even know what you've sinned from the day that you created me put me in this world until today but now I've brought my heart and my soul to the point where I realize I have to come back to you really with a good heart with with a full heart I'm not uh joking I'm not planning on going back again now again it is possible that the person is going to fall again but at that moment that he's doing Chua and he's doing his prayer he really means it he really wants to cut out all the garbage in essence a person says to hasem that they're coming to him with truth with good with complete intention to admit their wrongdoing and abandon their wrongdoing and stop all of the sins and please AEM give me a new heart treat me as if I haven't sinned in essence because I intend to be to have electrity and carefulness in in fear of hem I want to fear you hasem I Aspire now instead of aspiring to be a baseball player instead of aspiring to be a billionaire instead of aspiring to be a uh beautiful in the eyes of every man that looks at me I aspire to have fear of you that's my new aspiration and you my God who opened your hands to those that are doing who helps those that come to purify themselves open your hand and accept me with a complete ch and please help me to get stronger in my fear of youan and help me fight against the Satan who keeps fighting with me with all types of new ways all types of complicated and sophisticated ways comes to me my work comes to me my house comes to me in traffic comes to me in business comes to me in the gym comes to me in the doesn't stop I need to fight him this Satan is asking to kill me he's asking for my soul he's trying to destroy me he's trying to control me and distance him away from me from my 248 uh uh body parts and throw him in the ocean and yell at him Roar at himem that he won't come back to be by my side to try to entice me to sin again and to get me to not do what you said because I want to do everything that you said and follow all your laws and please remove the stone heart that I have he tries to the Satan tries to keep my heart hard like stone for your laws tell him to stop give me a a new heart a heart of flesh meaning a heart that follows the Torah please my God hear the prayer of your servant and his please and accept my accept my repentance and don't let any sin or iniquity that I've made stop my Chu or or delay it delay my prayer and my chuv and let there be on your throne of Glory all types of a uh defendants angels that are defending me to bring my prayer this prayer that I'm praying to you in front of you but if I've made so many sins that even the angels don't want to help me I don't have anybody that's going to defend me then you hasem please you make an opening for me under your throne of Glory in order to accept my to accept my prayer so I don't come out empty-handed because you are the one that listens to prayers up to here is the prayer the of this is a prayer of someone that is ready to do chuva is telling us here you want to be a or do you want to be someone that wears a costume if if you want to wear a costume all you got to do is go to the store get yourself whatever costume you like you could be Batman you could be Spider-Man you could be a pirate you could be a ninja you could be Aid you could be a lot of things hat beard depends which you can get the white socks the P that's the you're going to be part of they grow on their own or you could even buy them to today but if you want to be a real of hem without necessarily being a part of a specific but being a of it requires for a person to know they can't behave like the people they see or the people they hear going against theem you have to follow the ways of the and of course everyone has to know that you have to crawl before you walk you have to walk before you run you can't just jump from being a to being the but a person that wants another reason to admire and being awe of the sikim the real sadik of this generation and previous generation has to know even the simple Act of eating is different because as says before you sit down to eat before you even do diamond wash your hands do this special meaning before you eat know that you are about to go to War as the says the hour of food the hour of eating is the hour of War why the hour of War technically it's a moment of risk ever ask yourself how come when you eat you're still able to breathe unless the food goes into the wrong pipe but who tells the food to go into the right pipe or the wrong pipe if the food goes into the wrong pipe for half a second half a second a millisecond and not even all the food not the whole giant bite of that burger you just ate that's bigger than your head no tiny little grain of that burger tiny little grain of that food that you ate goes into the tube where you're supposed to breathe all of a sudden and you'd help what happened thought you were strong thought you were powerful 5 minutes ago you just yelled at somebody for looking you the wrong way but now you're you're you're you're begging for your life what happened what happened is showed you that you're not really in as much of control as you think you are anytime a person eats in reality it's a miracle that they don't choke to death because the food goes into the same place as air when a person survives a meal they survive the war is telling us before you have started eating know that you are getting into a place that is not like the animals where you're just there to eat based according to your lust to your desire to satiate yourself because you're practically drooling the moment you see food or hear about it do CH no different than how you do on young people you know it took a lot of time and effort to study for this lecture and every lecture changes my life a little bit and I hope it does to you as well if you're enjoying it please make sure to like subscribe and share with people that you care about people that you know could benefit from it you may end up changing their life thanks again for learning with me and we'll continue growing together now back to the lecture the wicked heretical philosophers had a trouble in their talks about the body and the Soul he said how could there be a soul that's inside this body but yet what keeps this body alive is food so how could a spiritual entity be contained in a physical entity but yet maintained by eating sushi maintained by eating steak so the philosophers were always looking for ways to remove God from the world said there's no soul came the holy cabalists of am is and told the fools that tried to mislead people the problem with your theory about the food maintaining the body and thereby maintaining the soul is that you assume that the food is what you see what you see is what you get meaning if your food is a piece of leaf then that's what it is it's a piece of leaf it's a lifeless piece of leaf it's a lifeless piece of meat CU you killed the cow already you killed the Sheep already you killed the tree already so therefore it's lifeless and therefore it's nothing but what you're not realizing is that there are different levels of life that instilled into the world there is the inanimate such as rocks then there's the plants things that grow plants trees and so on then there's the living which is the animals then there's the speaking which is humans then there's the righteous Jew and every single one of those Creations has a life force within it a spark of kadus within it or else it could not exist and therefore when you're eating that piece of meat or that plant you philosophers may be thinking that you're eating something that's completely dead that's completely soulless but while part of it is correct where you have a piece of meat a piece of plant a piece of something that sat cheating the body the spark of Holiness of kadus that's within it within that piece of meat within that piece of plant is what's satiating the soul that's within the body so is in essence trying to help us rewire our understanding of food of the purpose of food of why hasem create cows if we're going to eat them all the other people that have a problem with eating meat or animals or whatever it is everything has its purpose the in adamant is elevated by the plant when the plant nourishes itself from the inanimate from the ground it is elevating the spark that in the in adamant to a higher level when the animal the living eats the plant it is elevating the plant spark to a higher level when the living the man or the woman eats the cow eats the uh whatever other animal that's there it is elevating it to a higher level when the Jew eats the kosher cow it is elevating it to the highest level it can unfortunately some people act like cows so they're not elevating but rather they're moving the cow from one cow to another but the Katan is in essence trying to help help us understand that eating is more than what it seems in fact the mid says that whenever a person eats he should say as follows Master of the world may I eat in Holiness and may my intentions be for your sake and save me from excess eating and drinking say this two or three times during your meal I'm sorry uh say this and two or three times during your meal you should pause and look at a sees like some type of Torah book watch a lecture today or think about a Torah that you TOR devout Torah that you heard from your Rabbi or in his name today's world's much easier all you got to do is go to the app and press play any lecture don't think too much what the first thing you see press play and every time you should pray in your mind master of the world help me and teach me to do your will and save me from the evil inclination why why should a person do this says person today that we don't have the BET mikash person has to understand that did not remove all of the benefits of the BET mdash from the world in essence there are certain amazing things at the time of the if you learn the different to talk about see that there is extraordinary things that was able to do with the that's why there's such particular rules with every single one of them some you can eat some you are completely burn but there's also laws of T and T Purity and Purity we don't have all of that but we could still have the benefits like the Coen did mdash that was eating theban how at your table that you're about to eat you could atone for your sins connect to a like you like the Jewish people were doing in the in the altar of the as the page 55A says this is the table before hasem this is a PUK from 41:22 and therefore says the just as people would repent and cry bitterly over their sins before bringing their sacrifice so that their offering is not considered a slaughtering of the wicked so should a person repent before beginning to eat whenever a person offered elz food he would do CH and imagine his day of death where do we learn this from in Genesis 24:32 it says and the man meaning elazar came into the house and it says a uh and the food was put before him another place in Genesis it says when ysf died and was put in a casket in Egypt in both places the word is only appears twice in the entire Tora in order to teach us that elzar treated food in such a way where it was his opportunity to do chuva as if he was going to die just like when YF died he was put in a casket why because this is what Abraham ainu taught him to do think of the day you're going to die and therefore clean yourself from your sins before before it's too late and the says that when you eat you have to take advantage of the opportunity by imagining that the food that you're eating is like aan of or the ti at theim and the were eating in great Holiness at the bet mikdash they had to be purified before they did this because they knew the significance of it you can still do the same thing if you treat food differently than just simply another opportunity to grow your belly so now says it all starts with before you eat the attitude of about food the attitude about your what's the purpose of both then says after you have eaten some bread meaning you've done the prayer you washed your hands you did the Mi you ate the bread then you s another prayer what's the prayer this is for the sake of the Union of the Holy One and the I do not eat in order to have physical enjoyment God forbid but only to keep my body healthy and strong to serve God let no sin transgression or evil thought or physical pleasure prevent the unification of the Holy One the which results from uplifting the Sparks of Kusha of Holiness in this food and drink in essence is uncovering a significant cabalistic teaching which is that if a person understands that their soul is nourished unlike the wicked philosophers that thought there's no soul he realizes the soul is nourished by the spark of kadus that's inside the food that he or she is eating now it's not going to come and do whatever it wants however it wants this is obviously even that has a process so he says you have to try to do everything possible and again this is a like I said probably everyone that's watching or the vast majority of people that are watching this is something that's far far away from where you are right now but that doesn't make you evil it simply makes you human and where you stand today but it's important for us to know where theim stand because when the sikim say allow not allow this you should do that you should do and a person's evil inclination makes them think they should disagree with the sadik think twice because it's not just what they said over there that made sadik it's also everything that came before it like things like this so a person that sanctifies themselves before they eat to such a level on irregular basis if they say something obviously it has a lot more weight than somebody that doesn't even know what sanctification is even now is telling us pray to hasem after you've eaten the bread that this is not a bread just to satiate lust and eat as much as you can possibly fit into that body of yours no no no only reason I'm eating is simply to keep my body alive but don't let this opportunity be missed out where the spark of Kusa that's within this food enter and leave me as the says every Jew even the greatest sadik has to suffer a certain amount of pain every day but the deeper their understanding and attachment to Hashem the greater the pain that they must endure and if they want to lower that pain to or sweeten that pain to a certain extent eating in Holiness with the fear of hem can help them can help them prevent the pain alog together or at least from the pain becoming over overcoming overpowering and is now going further than that and telling us that a person that's elevated should now be concerned about that spark of Holiness that's within that food why he says as follows whenever you eat or drink remember that the taste in your mouth when you chew and swallow is the inner Holiness and holy spark of that food and that by eating chewing and digesting you're extracting the food's Holiness so that it does not become waste and end up nourishing the the external the evil forces in essence as the page 35 says anytime a person makes a blessing before they eat they elevate the food anytime they eat without making a blessing it's considered that they're stealing now to put that in a perspective the says in every created thing and in all types of food there are sparks of holiness these constitute the taste smell and quality of the food so that the more Sparks that it contains the better the taste and the smell and for this reason it is forbidden for a person to take physical pleasure from this food without blessing because if they do that they desecrate something holy and there's nothing more consecrated than this however when a Jew makes a blessing on that which is fit for him to eat with pure intentions spiritual attachment and love and fear in God of God he ends up uplifting the holy Sparks to their lofty and holy source and draws down blessings to all the worlds this is hinted to by the word for blessing which is also is related to the word bre which is uh which means pool alluding to the mystery of the streams the shefa the streams of sustenance and blessings that hasm brings down to the world and for that reason the person that makes the blessing deserves to eat that particular food that he made a blessing on or the drink because it becomes his as he uplifted the holy spark that's within it to its source and Drew Down an even greater amount of beneficience so when a person makes the blessing they elevate but if a person makes the type of blessing that unfortunately many end up making we all fail at this at different times where you are so busy thinking about something else you make a blessing you forgot what you even blessed you end up doing you know the uh on a uh you know on or something or you end up doing a banana you know people sometimes make a blessing or you don't even know what you said what the word you said why because they Mumble it quickly but really if a person makes an appropriate blessing and one of the great strategies that I've learned uh you know that's highly recommend to do is to break up each blessing into three and then the third part whatever it is to break up every blessing into three helps a person think more about the blessing than the what's going to happen after the blessing and why to do that because this is all part of the process of acquiring that spark of Holiness that's within that food that you're eating now while the average person may not be able to do that whole prayer of before each time they eat why they may not even be able to think like that while they may not be at the level to think that the only reason why they're eating is really to be able to have strength to learn Torah really they're eating because they like food everyone can make a better blessing everyone can think that there is more life in this food than what the philosophers think everyone could benefit more from the spark of Kusa that's within the food if they simply pay a little bit more attention to the Creator that gave you the food than the belly that wants the food and the eyes that Lust For It In fact in fact even a mother that may not be a Torah scholar and knows that our husband is not exactly a torist scholar but she hopes that maybe our kids are going to be even the mother can help when she cooks for her kids for her husband whether she's cooking Safari food orazi food or whatever other types of food Indian food she's cooking do a little prayer while you cook please Hashem make this food give my husband and kids more strength to learn your Torah to follow your ways that little prayer can go a long way all of a sudden the kids they want to learn another mishna all of a sudden your daughter wants to be modest all of a sudden your husband wants to go to the all of a sudden they don't want the TV in the house anymore and they don't want the uh cable and the all the stuff that's causing them to go against theem meaning this teachings can affect every single part of the family if if you wanted to In Your Capacity you can't just think of it listen I can't even do the prayer of Raben needless to say follow what he says and you want me to think about Sparks of kadus and this and that okay fine just because you can't do everything doesn't mean you can't do anything so maybe you can't do the prayer of a Maybe not today maybe not even tomorrow maybe you can't even think of food as something that is going to be a opportunity for you to capture a spark of kadha and elevate it maybe you're thinking about the fact that it's tasty and you want to make sure that it's salty enough and Saucy enough and tasty enough for you to eat it fine but everyone can do a better blessing everyone can take a minute and think about the Creator that gave them the food and say please make this food give us the strength to do your will everyone can do that a 5-year-old can do it a 50y old can do it meaning the secret of chuva to elevate a person person to the point of what is saying in the prayer of someone that wants to do chuva is not about he has to be the most righteous person because even in that prayer is saying this person made a whole lot of sins but don't let that stop you why because it's all about willpower do you want to be better or do you think you're good enough what's the difference if you want to be better you will say I'm sorry when you're wrong without thinking twice oh but maybe he's going to think this or maybe she's going to think this or how are they going to see me and all this accounting that people do in their mind when you want to be better you have no problems you have no quams about saying I'm sorry certainly no quams about saying I'm sorry to AEM that's the easiest thing in the world and no qus about saying s sorry to a fellow Jew you hurt but if you think that you're good enough then guess what not only will you not be able to say I'm sorry to a fellow Jew that you hurt even if it's your wife even if it's your husband even if it's your kid even if it's anybody you can imagine but you eventually will get to a point where you won't even think you have to say I'm sorry to Hashem for betraying him day in day out why you'll become of the mindset of the Heretics that say he needs you after all is not just teaching us The Superficial world of what people make you think is he's teaching us how to be a realid not the garments not the look but the soul the the mindset the T even if even if we cannot get even to the grains of sand that he walked on certainly made sure that this is available to us today because every one of us that's reading this that's listening to this can take something from it to elevate themselves to better themselves to Simply become better become a better servant of Hashem become a better human being don't use the Torah as an excuse to be evil to people don't use the Torah as an excuse to be nasty the Torah is the potion of life to those that want life the Torah is a potion of death to those that want death that want themselves that don't want Hashem they just want ego they want to be special choose life is what mhu tells us choosing life it's not the easy route choosing life means you do what is difficult because the yet is the resistance and tells you not to do it choosing life means you apologize even though that hurts your ego choosing life means you do things that are self-sacrifice because that is what wants us to do choosing life means choosing the will of hem not the will of a ego or personal interest choosing life begins with doing everything that's within your power now even if the only thing that's within your power is simply to make a better blessing then start there not look at something that is IM modest start there if you could do more do more but either way if you want to get to the ultimate level of the you have to start somewhere and go grow from there we will all continue to learn and grow next time we have this
