hello this is Rebecca latsko and again
we're speaking about parenting and we
were speaking in our last talk about how
to be the best parent and the best time
we said is being invested in getting to
be a invested in your parenting now
let's start with one of the key ideas of
being a good parent and that is getting
to know your particular child now that
sounds obvious she's living and growing
it up in your house you know your child
true you know your child but in a
certain age there's a change and the
changes is not just knowing their basic
things but it's knowing their nuances
now women are very adept to this and
when they see their child they're able
to say oh the baby is hungry or the baby
is uncomfortable right and those things
Baruchel we have the wonderful lives of
clients well who have an amazing
intuition and we'll speak about some of
the differences between mothers and
fathers later on but as a father
we're also have an opportunity to learn
our children and the first way to learn
a child and this is also a surefire way
to keep a great relationship is
communication now people don't speak to
their children when they're very small
they just you know coochie but as they
get older it just happens like overnight
like they start getting more and more
start speaking to your China children
from very young age understand I want
and more than anything to understand
your tone they understand your
compassion and when they start speaking
to you and you say even gibberish back
they feel a connection there's a
response going on now the gibberish
doesn't remain gibberish it just becomes
more juvenile thoughts very very young
thoughts and when they say this is that
whatever you know whatever kind of cute
thing they're saying if you say oh
that's so cute right you're talking
about them you're not talking to them so
we want to start talking to them and
start talking with them if we do this
and we'll talk about mini stages of this
then we're going to have a connection
with our children and that is going to
help us really really to be in tune with
our children
a child who feels close to his parent
it's gonna is gonna be open with his
parent is gonna be accepting of what his
parent has to say and I'm gonna tell you
the rule is if you want to show someone
that you care for them you listen to
them more than even talking to them you
listen to them so when your child says I
made this picture in gang you say how
beautiful how'd you make it I'll say
what that crayon
and say wow what color crayon or
whatever you're saying you're
communicating and you have to
communicate on their level I don't mean
talking baby talk and I don't mean you
can't be intellectual but it means
talking with them on what they're
talking about
that's called communication and we're
going to take this through the stages of
youth how to communicate with your
children I thought as well who should
help you that you're able always to
communicate with your children and my
doing cell your children were super came
back and it really being real contact
with you okay looking forward to seeing
you at our next segment this has been
