hello again today I'd like to discuss
how to become a great parent now there's
gonna be all sorts of techniques within
our parenting that we're gonna have to
learn in coping and dealing in
relationship with the children but first
let's just give a basis to our parenting
and that is if I want to be a good
parent I have to commit myself to
parenting I have to say this is
something I really want to do I want to
be good at this and I'm gonna have years
of this and I'm gonna be active in this
and me and my wife we're gonna talk
about this and we're gonna work on
ourselves and we come better and better
parents if you become better pants
you're gonna have happier children
you're gonna have more successful
children and you're gonna feel great
about yourself now that many of us have
been parents already for years and you
know we're full of regrets and remorse
and mistakes well first of all it's okay
to make mistakes like we said you're the
camp for the child so the mistakes are
meant to happen with that child we're
not about gross errors but but you know
mistakes mistakes happen and your child
could bear them don't worry about that
but let's learn how to be our best okay
so we said to be our best I have to be
committed to wanting to be my best the
first key is awareness when a child is
born it's you can't not be aware it
needs you to feed it to bathe it to
change its diaper it keeps you busy 24/7
but you're not really thinking about
what's going on in its head you're not
really relating to it as a person you're
relating to this let's even say a baby I
don't want to say the word object but a
baby that has to be taken care of but
the really cool thing about kids is they
grow and they're
all the time and we have to learn them
all the time your child of one is not
your same child is one and a half and
then you get a whole new child when they
turn two and on and on and on and we
have to keep learning and we have to
keep experimenting and keep trying to
get to know our child and that's being a
good parent so just to summarize to be a
good parent means being invested in
parenting wanting to know how to be a
good parent wanting to know about my
child talking to your spouse about your
parenting these are some of the keys to
becoming an excellent parent now parent
good parenting doesn't you don't judge
ourselves by our children's behavior
because what we're really looking at is
the long-term and even if I get my sweat
blood and tears to my child and I don't
see what I do your success I'm a
successful parent because I did what I
have to do and that's a lot the
responder who wants for you so let's try
to do the best that we can do and we'll
talk about the details in further talks
it's been wonderful speaking of you hope
to speak to again Rebeck let's go with
the parenting lessons
