it's time for Rabbi minkowitz weekly
Torah lesson a place where life's most
difficult questions are answered here
with his spiritual perspective and
insight Rabbi minkowitz Welcome to our
weekly Torah thought this week is paros
the question we are going to be
discussing today is how can you be the
ultimate optimist so in this week's
Torah
portion we are experiencing the most
powerful Union that takes place when the
brothers who originally wanted to kill
their brother Joseph eventually meet up
face to face with Joseph and here takes
the most traumatic emotional
encounter the brothers now that Joseph
reveals himself to them they're
embarrassed they're nervous they're sad
mixed emotions Joseph realizes that and
Joseph says to them as follows he
addresses the issue head on and he says
dear brothers there's no reason you to
be sad or afraid because you think that
you're the ones that tried to kill me
that sold me and that you are the reason
why I am down here so Joseph says to his
brothers You're make
mistaken you you are not the reason why
I am here the reason why I am here in
Egypt was for one reason I quote the the
says you are not the ones that sent me
here elim the reason why I'm here is
because God sent me here wow what a
burden off the brother's shoulders they
are not the reason why he's in Egypt the
reason why he's in Egypt is because God
sent me here why did God send me here
and he says you think maybe God sent me
here because he wanted to punish me to
put me in prison to send me Exile that's
not the reason why he sent me here he
sent me
here as the POS says God sent me here to
provide sustenance for you and for the
entire Egyptian nation and for all the
countries around there let's look at the
profound optimistic attitude that Joseph
had Joseph viewed all his challenges all
his troubles not his challenges it was
all God orchestrating a plan for
Joseph's Destiny to be able to supply
food for his family in the times and the
years of the famine and for Egypt for
the Egyptian community and for the
countries around there that is the
ultimate Optimist that views anything
that goes through his life any and
everything that he went through was
orchestrated by God so that he can be a
positive force and positive influence
and I think the lesson to each and every
one of us is is if we really want to be
optimistic the best way to be optimistic
is let's learn from Joseph to realize
that everything that happens to us is
being orchestrated by God and not only
orchestrated by God because God forbid
God wants something terrible to happen
to us no by the contrary God wants us to
be a light onto the nation and the way
we're a light to the nation is to
realize that God is leading our life and
the reason why he's leading our life is
for the opportunity for us to do good
and to be a true light onto this world
