It's time for Rabbi Minkowit's weekly
Torah lesson. A place where life's most
difficult questions are answered. Here
with his spiritual perspective and
insight. Rabbi Minkowitz.
Welcome to this week's Torah lesson.
This week we are celebrating the holiday
of Simas Torah. So the question of the
week is how can we be joyous even in
challenging times? So as we are
celebrating this week Simkas Torah which
is a tremendous beautiful happy holiday
and we are actually finishing the whole
Torah the five books of Moses and we are
reading braha. So picture the image it's
Torah we are celebrating the joy of the
Torah. What do we read about in the last
Torah portion? Moses dying. Moses our
leader. Not only that, but even the
Torah on Torah, it's in the prophets
where it says Moshe after Mosher Rabu
died. So the question is how did those
two go together? On one hand, we're
simra we're celebrating tremendous joy.
On the other hand, Moses dying and a lot
of the blessings that Moses brought went
away. All the beautiful revealed
blessings that came on behalf of Moses
went away.
So the very points out a powerful
insight and he says like this. You find
something unique. After Mosher Rabenu
dies, God comes to Joshua who's taking
over for Moses and he says to him two
powerful words.
Be strong and strengthen yourself. In
other words, while Moses was alive, God
never said and empowered the Jewish
people with
only after Mosher died. So in other
words, what does the Rebi explain? While
Moses is alive, yes, we had tremendous
revealed blessings. And when Moses died,
yes, it was very dark and it was very
scary for the Jewish people. But God
comes along and says, "Yes, you might
not have the revealed blessings, but
be strong and strengthen yourself
because deep down within you, you have
the power to overcome this darkness of
Moses." So, in other words, Torah, we
celebrate for the revealed good, we have
revealed, but for the concealed good,
for our challenges, we dig dig deep into
that powerful blessing that God gave
Joshua of Khazak the Emat. So to answer
the question, how can we be joyous even
in challenging times?
By remembering those two powerful words.
Be strong and strengthen yourself. And
in your challenging times, as you reach
out to those two beautiful word words,
you will have the strength to overcome
any challenges that you're going
through. Thanks so much for joining us
for our weekly Torah lesson. This week's
Torah lesson is dedicated to the memory
of alien bin Yoseph and Rashi basi
mayote have an aliyah for the Torah that
we're studying in their memory. Please
