welcome to this week's torah lesson
this week we are celebrating the holiday
of passover
and the question of the week is what are
the two
most important lessons and experiences
we need to learn from passover so when
it comes to passover in the prayers
we say that passover is called sman
every holiday has its theme and the
theme of pesach is
passover is senu
the time for our freedom
it's a personalized freedom not a
freedom just of the past
but literally it's our freedom so that's
one important point
the second idea when it comes to pasta
we know all the holidays are called moya
dimle
they're holidays of joy of celebration
and the talmud says that what is the
first
the lead holiday the lead holiday is
passover so you see there's two
components when it comes to the holiday
of passover
one's manchester it's the time of our
freedom
and it's also the holidays to experience
happiness
how do we do so so we have to experience
freedom and happiness in our thought
speech and action
so how do we experience that's when it
comes to the seder
so we read about the about going out of
egypt
and we have to realize that if god
forbid
god didn't take us out of egypt we would
have been slaves
so it's our freedom we have to think
about and we say it in the haggadah
we actually eat the monster why do we
eat that matzah because we relive the
experience of free people
when you're free and you're running you
don't have time for the for the dough to
rise
and the process of making bread so the
man says to allow us to experience what
free people are like
we're on the run we're on the go we're
being freed
so we experienced simcha by drinking the
four cups of wine
because wine makes a person happy if
you're not able to drink wine for
whatever reason
you drink grape juice but the goal is to
experience happiness in a tangible way
and the freedom and the joy that we
experience on pasa
on passover is a freedom and joy that's
supposed to continue with us
throughout the whole year so the answer
the question
what are the most two most important
lessons and experiences of passover
the experience of being free and being
happy and the freedom and the happiness
should last
us a whole year thanks so much for
joining us for our weekly torah lesson
this week's torah lesson is dedicated to
the memory of borac
lipa may their souls be elevated by the
torah with studying in their memory
