Rabbi Lazer Brody - Emunah under Fire: Facing Life's Challenges with Success

it is super special tomorrow night is a very momentous holiday a big celebration it's called lagrange one of the probably least known holidays in the jewish calendar and what are we celebrating the great sage the great scholar rabbi akiva had 24 000 students who tragically perished in a plague in a terrible malady and illness and they were gone decimated so they stopped dying on this day and that's why there's a holiday and the question begs is that a reason to celebrate we should mourn there's no one left why are we happy why are we festive it's depressing it's sad we should be grieving and mourning so there's a few answers the romani pano says that ravikiv himself was supposed to die and he was speared and that's why we celebrate rabbi khan kanyevsky says that there were additional students that were unaccounted for and they didn't die and that's why we celebrate but this is an answer from the pre-kadush which is so empowering and so inspiring he says that the reason why we're celebrating he disagrees with the aforementioned answers rabbi kim was not supposed to die there were no students left so are we celebrating because rebecca could have been immobilized he could have been paralyzed he could have been debilitated he could have been totally totally devastated and crippled but instead on this day like bowmer he decided to rebuild he decided to persevere and he found five new students and from that he was able to construct an entire universe and therefore this holiday is a holiday of renewal of rebuilding of persevering and all you sure said so eloquently and so beautifully that the power exists even today thousands of years later in the day that no matter what happened in your life no matter what tragedy god forbid you suffered no matter what struggle or challenge or vicissitude or tribulation you find yourself in tomorrow night and thursday is the time to tap into that ability to create yourself anew to rebuild to persevere and to have new faith and hope so we have tonight with us an amazing bastion a repository of fountain of faith i'm going to leave it to our next speaker to introduce our great rabbi and speaker that came without further ado questions hashem showed king david that the most illogical inexplicable dangerous poisonous creature on earth had a reason it saved his life you think that no one said okay it's a nice story this and they sit down at a table and the waitress comes up to them and wishes yeah what do you boys haven't said so we have three beers give her the three schooners okay so she brings the beer and she puts out she's got this short sleeve blouse on and she serves in the beer and they see this tattoo on her forearm e-m-u-n-a it's red white and blue letters e-m-u-n-a and one of the guys says say what's he wear weights on your forearms and they get all these weights weighted down with all this gold how the husbands are mortgaged to buy all the gold why need to go because the neighbors got that she can't be she can't go to an affair and have less gold than the neighbors do and and and the price says sheikh like i heard what new york sheikh go did for exaggerate by telling me twelve thousand dollars they hit twelve thousand dollars you don't have to but they hit twelve thousand dollars yes with the new thing the natural hair with the natural part the natural thing how much eight nine eight nine
