Hey everyone. So, like most of you, um
I've been inundated with so many
messages and videos and concerns about
the individual that was just voted in
last night as the new mayor of New York.
One of the common sentiments I keep
getting is, "How can it be that anyone
who is Jewish, forget everything else,
forget what he wants to do to New York
himself as a communist, but how can any
single Jewish person vote for this
individual?" This for me is not even a
question. that doesn't even register
anymore knowing unfortunately how many
Jewish people historically have voted
against their own people who brought in
communism when it initially began in uh
in Russia and uh all the ideas behind it
as well unfortunately came from Jewish
people so that doesn't register with me
as well but what does surprise me is how
many people have embraced
his this individual's insane way of
thinking believing honestly believing
although we've seen how it failed in so
many countries and cities around the
world that his form of socialism which
won't take hold it's not a an affordable
option you can tax as much as you want
eventually there's a a bottom to the
barrel um but how many people still
think that this is going to become the
panacea the um solution to the
challenges that uh New York City does
have and New York City does have
problems. Every city has problems. Even
the uh the cities all of us think are
like these dream cities around the
world. But I want to discuss this from a
Jewish perspective. Obviously, as a
rabbi,
