The battle raging in ALL OF US

we have a drive and an instinct and an Impulse we have a nephesh the lower level soul of an animal so much in common with an animal we're tempted to indulge and to give into that animal Instinct that animal impulse to do whatever we want wherever we want with whomever we want we just want pleasure and happiness in discriminately but we also have a Godly Soul we are made from a piece of God we have discipline we have self-control and those two parts of who we are are always at War there is a battle did you jump out of bed did you hit snooze will you eat that second helping do you realize that you're full will you say that gossip or will you be able to hold back and say I don't want to hurt another person will we turn off the device and go to sleep to get all of our hours that's our future self's problem the current self the present self really wants to finish scrolling or watching or emailing or doing whatever we're doing so how can we have the discipline for the sake of our future self to live a better present self
