Hi, this is David Olowski with our
question and answer part of our program.
One of the many things we offer on the
Revolofski show. You can go to my
website revolowski.com and sponsor a
question and answer sponsor paren five
sponsor an episode and uh we depend on
your support.
So uh this one is sent in by what's
called the team. I don't know what that
means. Does Alaski believe in Iron
Horror? And if so, how does he deal with
it? Well, of course, I believe
inheritabra.
It says if we share a one of the reasons
I can force you to put up a wall is
because of iron horror. I don't want you
looking at me and my stuff.
The Gumarra says you should not look at
someone's fullgrown field
because uh you may damage it with iron
har.
So it's not me. It's in fact brought
down in not to look at someone's full
grown field because of iron.
So when we say blur,
it's a real thing. People can give
people an iron horror. We see this when
hugger was leaving with Ishmael.
Apparently Sor gave an iron har and
that's why Ishmael was sick. So how does
work?
Iron means
that I'm bringing down the midin.
And you have to be very careful because
when you bring down judgment from
heaven, it cuts both ways. It's a
double-edged sword and it can affect you
as well as the person that you're trying
to bring the judgment down on. So, you
better be very careful. And I mean, I
look and I say, "Ooh, look at what he
has. How come I don't have that?
It's a terrible thing. You see it very
often. You know, somebody who has
trouble marrying off their children, you
see somebody who goes boom boom boom,
they marry a bunch of kids. They give
them an eye in horror. See, sometimes
people who have difficulty having
children, see people with lots of
children and give them an eye and
horror. They may not even mean to,
but that's what it is. It's like, how
come they have that and I don't?
That's the power of har
and uh it can affect people in a real
way. You see, it's can damage people.
The gumar says most people die from iron
because you're bringing the judgment
down. So if you're gum or you don't have
to worry but if there's a uh in
your armor
then the den will say does this person
deserve it or not? It can affect them.
Do I believe I've been affected by
anhara? I know for a fact I've been
affected by anhara because I get iron.
Sometimes people are not subtle about
it.
I used to give a mot
and at least three times I met people
who said to me, "Who are you that you're
giving this year? You're such a big
you're uh you're you're you're the most
qualified person to give a sh to these
people."
Plenty of people could give a better
shir. I could give a better shir.
So I'd say, "No, no, it's they come
because I'm funny." Oh. Oh, you mean
you're a clown. You're a comedian. You
tell jokes. Okay. All right. Now I Now I
understand. I don't feel so bad. Okay. I
I don't know. I I know how to give a
I know how to teach. I know how to
tell jokes. I'm not a clown. Oh, okay.
You're a clown. Okay. Now I feel better.
Anyway, one time when this happened, one
of my kids was with me and they were
seething.
And they said, "Ah, but why don't you
say something?" I said, "Do you
understand how sad you have to be to say
to somebody, why are you giving that
cheer? Why aren't I?
So, what should I say? You're not giving
the cuz nobody wants to hear you,
you stupid Belgiva. Nobody wants to
listen to you. Go ahead, give a share.
See if anybody shows up. Nobody wants to
listen to you. Nobody wants to hear you.
I've had this where not only that, but
people come where I'm giving you here
somebody else and they they want to keep
asking they don't want to make qu they
don't want to ask questions. They want
to make statements. I have something
that I have to share. No, sometimes they
go on for a long time and you know you
have to cut it. I had somebody yelling
at me. I had things to say. Who are you?
I know you have things to say. I also
have things to say.
Thinking to myself, so why don't you
give a See if anybody wants to
listen to you. Nobody would come. But
what's the point?
So I tried to mitigate the iron horror
by trying to minimize. And that's why
they say people should hide what they
have and not be showy about it because
you get an iron horror. The more showy
you are, the more people look at you.
Now there are these people who do this
kind of ceremony to be able to remove
iron horror with lead etc. And they pour
lead into hot wood over your head. I
don't know if it works. That is above my
pay grade. I know there are people who
swear by it. Um, somebody in Or asked
Rabbi Sammon about it and he said he
wasn't familiar with it. He says, "Well,
you go to the iron lady and you give it
stucker and then she boils up lead and
she puts water above you and she pours
the the lead in and it forms little eyes
and then she says a certain tila and
then she pours it again and she keeps
pouring it until there's no more eyes."
So he says, "It's always good to give
stucker [laughter]
So, I don't know if that was a rousing
endorsement or not, but basically I I
try to keep my head down and uh you know
try not to put myself in a position and
it's hard sometimes because being a
public character you make yourself a
public target and uh it's hashem
we should all remove the ka we have for
our fellow Jews so that we remove the
iron
And instead when Rabza looked around and
said, "What is the most valuable thing
in the world?" That's an iron tove.
Mashem, we should all have an iron to a
good eye. And this is David Alowski with
our question and answer series.
