Hi, this is Dov Odvorsky.
With my special current events segment.
We don't do this too often. Remember I
Mordechai Berger was once on an El Al
flight.
And it was snowing outside very heavily.
But he had been upgraded to business
class cuz he traveled a lot.
And he said they were bringing them
drinks and this and that and he was
sitting in a big seat and he was really
very happy. He didn't care.
But everybody in the back, you know, in
the economy less, economy minus.
>> [laughter]
>> They didn't have economy plus back then.
They only had economy minus. You know,
people are on top of each other and
they're going crazy.
So he said suddenly there's an
announcement from the pilot.
And he says,
uh people are saying
that they want to hear my voice.
There is a lot of snow.
That was the end.
>> [laughter]
>> Cuz it's stating the obvious.
So I've been asked, uh could you say
something
uh about the war that's going on in our
show and the missile attacks.
And uh what could I say? There's a lot
of snow.
>> [laughter]
>> I don't know what I'm going to say at
this point. I spoke
about you know, the wars in the past.
But
um I'll I'll share with you my insights.
First of all, I am so over missile
attacks. Okay? I'm so sick of them
already.
Uh I spoke uh
I have a I have a little show and we
have a minyan every Shabbos and Rosh
Hashanah and Yom Kippur we have a bigger
minyan, you know.
And uh I said this past year it's just
absolutely wild. I grew up in Long
Island.
You know,
I never once
had a missile attack.
Now, we'll be coming missile
connoisseurs.
I don't know where the missiles coming
from. Are they from Iran? Are they from
the Houthis? Yeah, the Houthis ones
aren't so bad. I don't know if it pays
to go to the bomb shelter. Those Iranian
ones are a little worse, etc. You know.
But to [clears throat] be perfectly
clear, you should definitely go to the
bomb shelter.
You should definitely take precautions.
That goes without saying.
But
you have to appreciate what's taking
place here.
Because
this is amazing.
I still remember
the mullahs in Iran
took over the country.
The Shah fled.
Um people were killed. They took the
Americans hostages in the embassy. It
was a terrible thing.
In 1979,
'89, '99, '09, '19,
'26. You're talking about close to 50
years
that Iran has been a thorn in the side
not just of Israel,
but the whole world.
They don't want to just kill us. They
want to kill everybody.
And they're not shy about it.
And everyone knows they're a problem.
And no one did anything about it.
Everybody was afraid.
And when they were building the nuclear
reactor,
the Marsha Shapiro told me once, this is
his greatest pachad,
that if they get a a nuclear bomb,
they'll just blow Israel off the map.
And they weren't shy about their
intentions to do it even.
So, they took out the nuclear reactor,
baruch hashem.
But they still have a lot of missiles
and and ballistic missiles. Ballistic
missiles take out a city block. It's not
like these Hamas rockets that they hit
the you know, hit the building or
something.
Uh it takes out the you just have to get
close. It takes out the whole block.
You know, look at the pictures, mafchid.
And finally, Donald Trump said, "I had
enough.
I'm taking them out.
Everything. Every missile, every drone,
every launcher."
He sank their entire navy. He blew
everything up.
I remember when they blew up the entire
navy, the Iranians said, "Now we're
really going to get upset.
Now you're really going to be sorry."
I'm like, "Yeah. What are you going to
do now?"
And baruch hashem, the missiles have
you know, started to die down. Of
course, Hezbollah woke up in Lebanon and
ends up we didn't take away all of their
missiles, so now they're shooting
missiles at us again.
I don't know why they're not answering
their beepers, but um
uh they uh
they're shooting at us.
And it's pachad.
But
the only thing worse
uh than
a existentialistic threat
is if you have the opportunity to remove
it and you don't.
And so
the most powerful country in the world
which has not always appreciated its
power has a president who appreciates
it.
I remember they asked Trump at one
point, "Did Israel push you into this
war?" He goes, "No, I pushed them.
I told them I'm going after Iran. I want
you to help."
And he said, "Yes, sir, Mr. President."
His goal is that there shouldn't be any
missiles, any drones, anything left in
Iran that they can use to threaten
people.
And the same thing with Hezbollah.
And
we'll be
for the first time in 50 years
not to have this
pistol against our head.
So,
uh
>> [clears throat]
>> for all the people who have gotten
killed.
And
there should be no more killed or
wounded.
And uh we should be
to take this out once and for all.
And to remove these threats from us.
And that we should be able to be
but off
in our land
without any more fear or worry
from outside evil forces.
And now if we could just dive in to
remove the internal evil forces,
then we'll be to an embassy Yeshua.
We should keep diving. We should keep
hoping, keep anticipating a Yeshua
Yeshua.
This is David Olavsky
wishing everybody
a safe and happy Pesach.
