33: When the Shefa opens

hi this is Deborah Levski and welcome to the rabbi Orlovsky show and whether you're watching unto her anytime or wherever you watch her listen to podcasts we're happy to have you along and what can I tell you after our special pace of program the this show has just been growing to the point where you as you can see that the words are jumping off the paper and can't even stay yes within one little piece of paper so we're back to a regular schedule and it's so nice to have you all on board you'll be watching this I assume mode see yontiff and we're getting ready for the next the next Perisher and we're getting ready for its first i'll a mare which we started already and I hope that all of you are still in the camp somebody told me that they went to a second Seder here a night show I mean the whole thing was a big ball of God and they ended up leaving before the end and they forgot to count sphere assignment they missed on the first night I was in drool once where someone went over as a joke to somebody in the first night they said so you still in the count he says what do you think I'd mess it up on the first night yeah and then Rob said to him you said first night yeah it's Yama HUD so you can't you can't get with a brother tonight it's amazing you know that usually we don't mess up in the first week you know it depends sometimes called married people get permission a little bit you know mmm it happens I saw this thing where they have all these little apps to remind you to count sphere and somebody rodeo is this great new program they made to remember sphere as OMA it's called Myra for the minion but last thing we want to do is be cynical right but yeah if there you have to try when people mess up it's usually the kind of thing where you're in you're in shul and they're counting and they say tonight is 24 and you're like no it's 23 that's that's when you realize oh you know we drop the bull usually people miss the count because you know they come into shul and they're counting 24 and you're like isn't it 23 tonight miss the yeah thank you you at some point missed that count gets a little tricky before I forget we have a sponsor this week for this week's celebrated her birthday the Shabbos and I don't know if I'm supposed to say what what year it is but suffice to say that she's she's you know she's still very young and vibrant and nonetheless celebrating a birthday going forward and we wish him many many more and another 90 years whoops anyway if you can do the math but anyhow this is this this is tremendous phenomena where things started out being sort of like cute and then they took on this status becomes bigger bigger than anything else somebody said I got an email a friend of mine I was a master mechanic and he sent it out to a group of friends of his who are behind him and he says that is min aghh this girl told her this is mimic that from Chris and Magilla until hot sauce you should say to him and he said to have this email and he says I don't know than anybody was see such a thing there was nothing done um one of the poems where I went to it my she Shapiro I said you know now they have this thing this yeshiva moto Caillou hoody everybody to go and learn Torah with their children I said I don't remember that being part of part of poor so he says it's not it's not that's not what that's not the mid to say yeah so you know so I mean how come come up you know means come along so there was this position min egg that has now become de rigueur and coach whistle Carla for the Shabbos after Pesach now those of you in Hood florets it's this coming Shabbos for those of us in here it's well we are behind Oh actually we're ahead this is always messy and this happened happen last year too whenever it comes out like this year first day of yontiff comes out on Shabbos we have this problem because she shall press up that's what we haven't heard so Patricia paisa the problem is that this year at least for us she mean you shall pay yourself it shops so we have to stay pay select another day that's our what flourish meanie show Pesach for us is bringing the Shabbos and that's a problem because there that we're always one parsha ahead if I go to hood slides during these weeks so they're laning what I already laying the week before and when I come back to it so it mr. partial so it's a little difficult to coordinate that so we the first showers have to pace up to move on we did not do this and that is of course Russell kala where you make kala there's three min argument we do all three of them yeah not because it's not a minute I went to a little fishing issue but it's interesting I went to a little fishy right they didn't do an option didn't do it option my wife comes from a seditious stock she says of course look you're doing up sure I said not Dominican my yeshiva yeah so she said to me says you know what you can cut his hair but nobody will play with him religious coercion so critical glances sense of humor and except for my first time my other two boys they had like no hair when we did the up share and it was like with tweezers and a nail so protocol works all these things out but so now it's Alisa Kahlo which is a physician medic people take it very seriously so there's three things you can do you can make your kala and poke it with a key you can actually wrap a key and put it inside and this is a school uh for partnership particularly for dentists because when you break your teeth on the key so then yeah you're going get some dental work and the federal one is you make it fella actually in the shape of a key yeah let's color it's after Pesach it opens up the doors of paranoia whatever it is so but it's cute because people people go and they at least gives people an excuse to bake solace if they don't usually did it except of course here Nets Joe I never saw this in America but no no it's show they put stickers on everything it's an flr cabeza this was big after they saw or ground after paisa by the flour and it's a tremendous amount of work putting those stickers on everything that's in the store this is no way that you face our hands you walk in the next day and there are thousands brats all ground and baked those few hours call me cynical but but yeah beautiful it basically means that we are out of paisa and we are now in the sphere summer mode and people have admitted not to listen to music that's why when you're in my age group this is one of the happiest times of the year yeah the only happier time is the three weeks because music and since they stopped making Jewish music I don't know how many years ago it was so you know a little bit of a break from that stuff is is actually you know relaxing they come out with these cassette tapes it sound exactly like real music and I wonder if we're if we're doing ourselves a favor with these kind of things basically it's an addiction it's another addiction people can't go without their music have to have their music blasting and people can't play music you have to blast music and people literally grow addicted to it they don't know how to go without it yeah and I'm not judging it's just a Mattias just seems to me that the more that we become dependent on things it's it's not a good thing dependency I don't think is such a good thing there was one summer I remember get up one morning and somebody started to say something that I said I can't I can't talk to you and talking about a cup I have to have a cup of coffee I didn't like the way that sounded so I made my cabal Aurora cello I'm not drinking coffee until after until I have TM Kippur now what I didn't take into account is that include sleeveless which people get up early we're not used to getting up early without the benefit of caffeine I mean some people just seem carrying around these gigantic cups of coffee just to get through the day some people never bother to put a caffeine drip right into their arm and take it with them wherever they go it's uh it's a challenge I'm not going to say no it's a it's a challenging experience but I didn't like the fact that I thought I have to have a cup of coffee people have to listen to music they get a term I'm not saying they learn it here but just I can't but I can't live without my music yeah it's uh I mentioned this before well I think maybe I'll even the first podcast they did a study around the world of a thousand students this wasn't a Jewish study and they took students off of all of the technology and they suffered the same withdrawal symptoms as people coming off of cocaine and heroin so that's that's an addiction it's an addiction you gotta wonder you have to wonder how addicted I am to things and that's part is for assignment we're gonna talk about that in the weeks ahead but part of it is that I have to prepare myself for Kabbalah cetera and there's a preparation now some people say you know how do you prepare yourself with learned Tiger so it's a little tricky because how could learning turd be the way that I'm a Kabul Tiger yeah so you could argue that they got submit sir said Maura for them to be able to learn learning was part of that whatever but there's obviously a special kind of a preparation that goes in during the weeks of summer to be able to get it there's a process now of course we observe certain laws of availeth and there a different man Hagen some people keep the first 33 days some people keep the last 33 days some people keep the middle 33 days and those are the health of valence that are being kept if the that's a problem but probably it's not they're not arguing in Macias about a historical fact what happened and what didn't happen could be that that we're deciding where to put those days together but was a completely different person than the person you had seen before so my Godot liter is the exact opposite they limit what they allow you to see and underneath is something very special kind of time at a river of Lanka and and he told once you know knock him go he wouldn't agree to take any position only this Amish taking care of this role and and after everybody left he would close all the Scheffer from shamayim when the bounty from heaven you could tell when that opens big Masha said can you read it looks that way so when you when you you understand that afterwards whatever's going on here this is this is addition cabbalistic thought but the Scheffer opens up after based off the idea of making this attack have the key to open it up put a schlissel collar a key and you dishes sure that the harvest came through and then everything was going to be good and it's one of the reasons it was a time when people were davines people were worried is they're gonna come through and not
