So much has changed. Don't take for granted for a moment that we're able to be here together tonight. Not just because Galora says so, but because how can we not say thank you to Hashem? How can we not give for bringing us together having this to be able to be here together? How much Hashem has from this from us on the eve night before it's already it's now today. Continuing our summer of service together. So extraordinarily grateful for Rashiva for joining us this evening. I'm just overwhelmed with gratitude that uh we have this choice to be able to be here together. just with talking on Shabas about a day that represents for so many inclusi father-in-law of the rebi who dedicated his life to miserus nephesh incredible sacrifice building mcvoshim sending out the former Soviet Union Latia incredible sacrifice he was arrested because of the crime of bin Marb's Torah and sentenced to death it was an international outcry created an incident across the world had a verberations politically across the world and he was ferocious he had absolutely Absolutely. He hit the he was fearless. Didn't fear basam held a gun to his head and he laughed in their face and interrogations and he said, "Yeah, I'm guilty as charged. I teach Torah. I spread Torah. I do for that toy, that gun might make somebody nervous or strike fear at the heart of somebody who believes in in believes in in many gods. So maybe someone who believes in in lots of gods but just one world hazard. But I believe in in in one god I have hashem here. I'm not interested and not bothered by you. Fearless in the face of gazeros in the face of literally the death penalty. We're going to take him out to a firing squad. He didn't even flinch. He was undaunted. He came to the United States before the war and set up shop. He said, "America is nish. It's not different. Jewish people have survived. We have Torah. We have mitzvah. We have we have we can do it anywhere." He built a whole system of spreading Torah. And his sons-in-law were the ones who really were the ones who really implemented his plans, his vision for spreading Torah across the United States. And the way he worked was he had one son-in-law was the Rash who was in charge of the most and and his son-in-law the Raash ultimately became a successor the Rebi was in charge of like all the international operations and every morning he was supposed to come into his father-in-law and give him a a report what's happening his father and the Reba had had a stroke he was confined to a wheelchair and it was very difficult for him to speak and he was he was weak physically But every morning his son-in-law came in would come in the secretary of was there and he'd give an update in Paris has 16 children the in you know here in Lat in Latia they're down two kids whatever but those two kids are and they still need a short x amount of money for the mikvah that we're building in Petersburg you would give them an international national like every day an update and in all the cities and in Chicago and that were sent to Boston and they're around had to give an update every single day of every single detail and the federb the previous rebba was exhausted from ding he would sit there in his in his like his wheelchair and he would nod his head he would get the update and who was the recording secretary would sit there and take notes and then they would implement the would tell him what to do good do less do more, do different, send here, send there, prioritize this and that and then the rebi would go and and fulfill the instructions. There was one morning he came into this and the pre previous was particularly exhausted. He was post stroke and he had had an appointment the night before. He was just really was it was hard for him to open his eyes and it was hard for him to even take a deep breath and express himself. He came in and he insisted that come and do his job. Tell him everything all all the updates. He gave the updates. This is what's going on in this part of the world in this for these girls, for these boys, for these Jews, for this Torah, for this mikvah, for this, for this. And he went through the whole list and and the previous would point his finger this way. Yes. No, more or less. And when he finished going through everything, he kind of nodded and um and walked away backwards from the share to the door. And as he was walking as he was going out the door, he said, "Oh, like he motioned like oi." He like remembered something that he forgot to say. And who was the the recording secretary was the gabi kesh of said no go tell your father. go say tell herb and and he said no what it's fine I'll go tomorrow whatever he said go go you know tell him go he said no I don't want to bother he's wiped he's exhausted he's wiped out he couldn't he could barely talk and took him by the hand and said go tell your father go tell the go tell your go tell the rabbi the future comes before his father-in-law and he said excuse me I'm sorry there's just there was just one more small thing. One more clinic and one more detail just one more detail that I forgot to mention. And the freeda is post stroke in his wheelchair started trying vigorously shaking his head no as a son-in-law I know that you know he said okay I'm sorry okay he started to like turn around to leave and again the govern no like okay do I go no yeah looked at him he didn't know what to say and for so ing every ounce of strength that he didn't have. The fir propped himself up in his wheelchair with every ounce of strength and his eyes were on fire. His body was shaking. He looked at his son the future and said nonlay there's no such thing as something small. There's no such thing as something small when you're doing for another year. He collapsed back into his chair. The Rebi came home and told his wife he understood everything that he had to understand about the rest of his life, what the rest of their life together was going to be. And a life of and impact on Israel was with that one message that there is no such thing as something small. And in our door in our door when when when the whole whole language of the world is belittling and undermining our worth, our confidence and our place in the world. the greatest kafira of the generation. We're so lucky that we have leaders, that we have mentors, that we have guides, the Rashiva, Rabbi Kish, and I want to say our guest this evening, but our guide this evening who was a voice so clear in Waterberry and and throughout the world from Waterberry, this is what I learned the water is that there's no such thing as something small and the ronos of a yid and the desires and the intention of a yid. gathered together here this Shabas and this evening. This is close to there's more than 500 of us who are here dedicating ourselves to a summer of aesh of working on behalf of Israel doing for others and there's really no greater covenant. There's no one that we wanted more to come be with us and fab with us be maz and share with us and prepare with us together other than the rash months and months ago not one chapter reach out what six eight months ago the voice of clarity a clarion call that in Torah and kite and everything meaningful and self-development there's no such thing is something small. I want to express that made the effort to come here this evening and the Huda my brother and the crook is here and to everyone who worked hard to put this evening together. This didn't happen on its own. Our media team and the MHRA tech worked hard to set up and put this together. Things just don't happen on their own. Express our car. This is an opportunity to express our corate here to Abe Eisner. Mr. Abe Eisner talking about guides and mentors who treat us as friends. Mr. Eisner is the chairman of our board. He works very nice. Very nice. [applause] Can I ask you to stand up to stand up? [applause] Works day and night. [applause] person who he's busy with the governor and the president and and and in the halls of power and moving in Albany helping enable us to build and grow and strike and expand our campus and expand our services for the parents for the children for the families for us and something I'm learning all the time from Mr. advisor from a is there's no such thing as something small. There's no detail that he's not busy with. There's no detail he's not busy with. Big people understand that there's no such thing as something small. Privilege to be a thank you. Speaking of need who are big, it's a it's a real and a pleasure to to welcome Moer. Mohler [applause] over here the tal of waterberry who soaked in the rashiva's message not just the token not just the the content of the but you read the book you feel the contact you can hear's voice you feel you feel the experience the warmth of being in waterberry and you hear the waterberry I'm so glad and so appreciative of you and and Cla Israel owes you a debt of gratitude for putting together this safer what you learned in Waterberry and uh it's it's we have copies here tonight and if it's not sold out already it has to be it has to be by tonight and and it's a it's I always say it's a soul to have in every room in your home that I should be able to you know cover these weddings and help these sons all learn as long as they want. It's a big school for me. But it's to have this safer with you for you and for your loved ones to to cultivate self-confidence and please make sure that that that there's not not one left and that is to send up more and more and more boxes. So maybe will just before Mo says a little something. I just want to say thank you again for being here. Thank you Huda. Thank you brother Mo. I'm so excited that you're here and uh what a success it is for all of us. Remember to be big to pay attention to every single pra and appreciate that every little detail of your work this summer means so much to the it means so much to it brings so much. Thank you so much for helping us live that message and thank you to all of you for showing us how real it is. >> [music] [music] >> I see you. [music] [singing] Heat. [music] [applause] How's it going, guys? What's going on? I'm feeling a lot of gratitude right now. I'm very happy to be here. This cover is just every time just on another planet. Just really impressive. [applause] Feels like Gimmel Thomas last year that rain was felt like yesterday. And uh really really fell in love with this place. Me and my Rebby really fell in love with this place then. Remember discussing what we saw that night. It was just it it really left an impact what we saw over here. And I just I thank you all for being a part of this place and making it what it is. It just really impressive and feels good to come and see a place that's on fire like this. So I want to thank all of you. [applause] I'm incredibly grateful for Jud. So hello uh for inviting me here. But for much more than that, definitely I want to thank you for bed right now. Bad means a lot to me. Far before we met in person, we definitely had a connection. I've been a long time to so I really appreciate you for that and I thank you for that a lot. Just what you built over here is just it's hard to describe. It's hard to describe. It's there's something here. That's as best as I could put it. So, thank you so much for Judah for inviting me here, asking me to share and yeah, I really appreciate that. So, thank you. [applause] When Rejuda reached out to me, I think he he nailed it. He didn't he didn't say, "Mo, come give a speech." Said, "Mo, come fate. Come fate." Mo, that's what I'm down to tonight. I uh don't plan to give a speech. Sean. Um, I just I want to chill. I see little David front row right over here. Like my friends are here. I'm not [applause] I'm here to talk with my friends. I want to share something that that matters to me, something important to me. See MJ over here. We're we're among his friends right now. [applause] We're not we're not friends yet. We're going to become friends. I'm confident of that. So, I'm very uh I'm very happy to be here among his friends. And um something very important and fundamental that my rebby taught me is no no speeches. Don't don't say a bar. Don't say a bar. What do I mean by that? Don't say a bar. Like if some Torah is personal. Torah is something that that should matter to you. Say something that matters to you. Say something that's like I'm going to speak right now and I'm going to say something from the depths of my soul. Something that actually matters to me. I actually care about what I'm about to say. I'm not just giving a speech, not just giving a bark. That's something that my taught me that I I I've been to thousands of his speaking engagements and I don't think I've heard him give a speech even one time. So, I want to share something that really matters to me and uh I hope it'll it'll mean something to you also. And yes, if you've ever visited Durham, I'm inviting all of you guys right now, boys and girls alike, right? It's fine. Please come. Please come to Ishiva Durham, Connecticut. We have a little chef over there in Durham, Connecticut. It's beautiful. Rejuda, you need to come. We've been waiting years this year. Okay, we're going to make it happen. What was I saying? Um, yeah, we're going to be we're going to in Durham, Connecticut, there's an unspoken rule that if it's earlier on in the week, we're still holding by last week's para. So, we're not us, we don't really let go of things too quickly. We hold on, we hold on tight. So right now I'm still holding my parasak and if you if you all will join me I would I would really appreciate that. So, I want to speak on something that Bum says. I I was taught to take things very seriously when I see something in the Torah and it's talking it's talking to me. It's talking to Mal right now. And Bum says something very interestingly. He's not the biggest fan of us to say the least. And he says, "These are words that I skip in my sitter every single day since fifth grade, but they're really they're they're beautiful beautiful words." And I was like, even to stop right there and just to be like, how precious are the tents of the the Jewish people, the Jewish people of how precious are the tents of us, of our people, of me and you, Bum, not our biggest fan. Is is enamored by the tents of the Jewish people? I could stop right there. That that already is like, wo, cuz it's true. Our houses are like beautiful. I've I've walked into houses and it just just like reeks of yushes. It's like delicious. I can't even I can't even explain it. You know what I'm talking about, right? You know, it's like just like a it's like a from home. I don't know if it's like titus on the couch or I don't I can't even describe it. It's just like Yeah. Yeah. So, um Bum sees the tents and he gives us a compliment. So, that's that's right. That's what I'm taking out of it that he just he sees beautiful homes. But Rashi says something and I I want to I want to talk about it a little bit. I've been thinking about this for a couple days now. So if we could work through it together that would be awesome. Rashi says that I think he's citing Khazal stating that this is a compliment of the Jewish people's that the openings of the tent were not facing one another. Each opening was facing a different direction and no one was able to see into a tent into each other's tents. There's a sense of tenis over there. So, I was talking with my friend on FaceTime last night and now I'm going to speak about it with all of you guys, I guess. And he's in premed if you guys know what that is. Prehealth. Wants to be a doctor. Going to go to medical school. He's going to do great. And we were talking about apparently he was notifying me that something in Venezuela was going on. There was an earthquake or something. And it would be so good for his resume if he went and joined a search party of finding people that might have gotten lost in the earthquake, which would be cool. I think would look cool on the resume. But I was just thinking if someone's like operating on me, like I'd rather you tell me like by the way he's the best husband. He's such a good father. Like my friend, he's the best to his nephew. Like tell me that. put the I told him, "Put that on your resume." I don't know if he's going to, but I think I that's what I would want to know. I think um what Bum saw with these tents and this thing is is that the Jewish people, our people, me and you, understand something. We understand that each of us have our own tent, our private o, our own inner world and that the realist and the realest of Oda is often done not in front of a camera. My my Revy often talks about doing in-house. We keep it we keep it in-house that play play a card game with your younger brother. It's the biggest thing in the world. You have no clue. It's so big. Study history with your younger sister. It's It's changing worlds upstairs. I promise. I promise you that. The biggest class that is done very much in house. And just coming to a campus. This is a very quiet campus. A quiet campus upstate where people are devoting their summers. They're giving their summers to help our people, our family, very much in house. It just it just very much this. And when I saw that in Spok, I was thinking that this is very much that. that this is in-house I said and quiet campus upstairs upstate forgive me upstate New York is um is understanding this. So that was one thing I wanted to share. The second thing I wanted to share on this topic and pretty soon I'm going to allow Huda to break up what I have to say with the song but I I want to share a few more things but Huda will will help me out if I if I could ask I want to I want to share also cuz say on this that we each have our own Oel. Yes, but we each have our own pesos. We each have our own way into our own O. We each have our own way to connect. Um, I already learned in the mirror and Raoba would often say, I can't do the Yiddish. I apologize, but he would say, don't imitate and don't copy, just be you. That just no two journeys are meant to be alike. That we all find our own way into our own tent. We each have our own entrance to our own casher with Hashem. And when you guys all come to visit Durham, you're going to see a lot of really talented people. I think something that's really really pushed, I guess, in Durham is like, find what makes you you. You'll see a guy with like the coolest hair. You'll be so jealous. You'll see a guy doing a flip. You'll see Huda Croka. He's going to play for us right now. Everyone is finding their light. My push is find your light. Marby's not telling me to be just like him. Don't copy him. Find your light. Find your way to connect. Find your cash. Find your entrance to your tent. So I want to say with the writing of the safer, I'm I'm a writer. I'm not a I'm not really a speaker. But with the writing of the safer, I think writing is something I connect to a lot. I like it a lot. It calms me. It's easier for me to put things down on paper than it is in words, as you see. And I um I really think that this was my way of shining my light and I'm just trying to shine what Huda is going to sing to us tonight and what the guys in the sheep are going to flip about. You'll hear sing everyone just trying to shine their own light. So with that I'm just going to uh I'm going to ask Huda to shine his light and I want to just say my friend my friend Gabe Bound tells me everyone has the song. Oh the cover knows Gabe Bound. Okay, great. Yeah, Gabe joined us in Durham. I wish Gabe was here. I already know. I wish he was here. He told me his mother was involved in the painting of this back thing. Are we going to do that? Very cool. >> Huh? >> I uh Gabe Gabe tells me Gabe tells me that everyone has a song to write now. I hear what he's saying. I'm going to come up here and I'm going to say everyone has a book to write. They were uh Mosaic reached out to me about about writing about the author and I'm like it's it's for most authors could be like I'm the head of camp and I'm a rub and bait chavage they have something to say I was like I'm I'm 22 I'm a single guy from my I'm working what am I supposed to put in my about but I think it's very I think it's very uh important that we don't you don't have to be someone with these big titles and we all have we all have a book inside of us to write. As Gabe would say, we all have a song that we could write. So with that, if we if you could just take it away. I have one more thing to share right after. You could play something for us. That would be great. [music] [music] >> [music] >> Sh. [music] [singing] [music] [singing] Oh [music] sh. [music] [singing] [music] [singing] [music] >> [music] >> I say [singing] [music] [singing] I [music] [singing] see >> [music] >> Sh. [music] >> [music] >> We shall Watch your son. [music] [singing] Sh. [music] [singing] [music] Heat. Heat. [music] Yeah. [music] Heat. [music and singing] [music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [singing] [music] [singing] Heat. Heat. [music] [singing] [music] Yeah. Heat. [singing] [music and singing] Heat. Heat. Heat. [music] Oh, [music] [singing] [music] [singing] heat, heat. [music] [singing] >> [music] >> I [singing] see. I [music] [singing] [music] see. I [singing] love. [music] [singing] >> Thank you so much. I want to talk about a little bit about the safer itself and I want to just say I'm very I had a lot of satine writing the preface introduction forward whatever you'd like to call it and I I'm very happy with how it came out and even if you don't purchase the book I don't know why you wouldn't um if you could just go over there read the read the introduction um I think it's very kadai and I want to tell you a little about about what I speak about there if you don't get the chance Um, this week Shom Zua sent me a picture of him holding the safer and that was big. That was like I was like, "Okay, cool. I like I think I did something there. That was cool." And he his comment on it, he put it on his WhatsApp status, holiest of places. His comment on it was, I think, spot on. And I want to tell you a little bit what I say in my forward and what he said. In my forward, I discuss an issue that I think exists. I think so often we all could open up a safer and just Yeah, I hear I've heard this story before. No built a Mosha spoke to what are these archaic texts? How are these archaic texts relevant to my life at all? I think something so fundamental and if I'll say what I learned in water, the one thing that I learned in water if I had to sum it up is that if the para is coming to you at this point of your life at this week, it has relevance to you at this point in your life and at this week that it's talking directly to you. So, I think that that is a way to make Torah feel dynamic and make it feel like it's talking directly to you because it is. And what Shaom Gayson texted me texted me was that he felt something hit, something was something resonated with him and he opened up to a random spot. He read something something resonated. I think that's exactly it. And often says that one sign of knowing that you're doing the rat is if you separate kesh are feeling so relevant to your life that when you open something up it's like wo wo that's me that's so me. So I think that was one of the main things I I learned in water and if we will one of the main things I continue to learn in water. So thank you so much and this has been great. Thank you guys. Really appreciate it. [applause] Thank you so much to every single person. for the first thank you tremendous thank you to have such a memory anybody who follows sports my warped mind sitting in this mind that you imagine my wife would be s she's I knew you'd go to sports like the Knicks would be within five seconds of you starting anybody who watches a team that wins any intelligent person sees a winning team knows somebody constructed This this has been built. It's impossible. Talent from different places coming together. Somebody put this together. There's a general manager here and a sophisticated person asks who constructed this? Who thought of this? The backup point guard, the backup this each piece, each somebody constructed this to look at a room like this. It's electric. We from when Yehuda myself mo Ray Brownstein we walked here there's something there there's a magic in the air there's an electricity somebody put this together Yehuda Yehuda said to me after we met a group of yen very similar some of the friends of here he was just like shaking his head of pride we're part of a beautiful people somebody constructed this and I want to express our gratitude to Hashem that we're part of such a people. I sit here. I'm sitting here absorbing and just the energy after the saying I it was what it was what was being said in the room anyway. We might as well sing it and the appreciation to the part special people. I want to express that right Michelle is somebody I appreciate like Mo like my friend Mo somebody somebody who I knew from far through the it jumps out of the a beauty a kindness a sweetness you can it jumps off the page it's alive it's and it's in the I see somebody who is alive to him love of Hashem's love of Hashem's people and I consider myself fortunate to be a friend of Rabbi Michelle. A friend is a maybe a I want to be a friend of such a of such a Y of such a person and it's befitting that he's responsible and involved in helping create such an incredible electric atmosphere ben of of tremendous boys tremendous girls who are shining examples who want to spend their summer helping another person to be here to make a space to bring a smile for another y. We all as we travel life all of us we we're studying. We're all students and we're studying and I'm as well on my journey figuring trying to figure things out. Maybe you get more questions along the way. Some answers and some more questions. I'm thinking and trying to figure things out in Hashem's amazing world. What's been very very become more and more obvious to me is that the greatest thing in the world that the holiest thing in the world is to bring a smile to another Y. I think that making a Y comfortable and happy. My father respected if somebody sang for Clus my father was default setting was to learn Tyra. My father learned Tyra, knew Shass like I know my name. He knew Ra backwards and forwards and he embodied Tyra. He finished Shass over 40 times. He was a walking piece of Tyra and he gave if he sang for other was like the of he makes Yidden happy. We call him but somebody makes Yidden happy. My wife and I are coming off. We're coming like straight here. We're coming off. We bar and sent us a wonderful daughter-in-law for my son Bishi. And coming off the I found myself this whole week just calling people and expressing a thank you. Each Yid comes to the like the biggest thing in the world. You brought joy to another Yid. My parents, my father was a busy yin. He was learning the seven blah a day every day. He was giving a dy. He was a ry of a that many water guys were in. He was a rashish of yeshiva all at once while doing while being answering Sha's crazy day. Yet he would drop anything in a second to go to aim in a second. My parents went to every verb brisma of hundreds of yidden and in a second that's what they did because that was priority never with the groan but the yid goes you can make you can bring joy celebrate with another yid not a sh on earth is it a wonder there's electricity here in a place where people have gathered to bring a smile to another yin another y smile. So I want to thank Michelle for inviting me here that we can touch such a place that's about to begin. A place where another yet is brought to smile, to laugh, to enjoy, to have a nice hour, to have a nice minute, to have a nice day. Sometimes we make a mistake. We do this in all of sometimes we make a mistake like a bakar does a good has a good dening we say oh you're getting there he's starting his journey he put on film we have to stop in context he's getting there he just put on film like that's to get together do y and sing together it's not where you're going that's that's it it's not everything in context of where you're going you're getting there I want to no you learn for a minute to have a camp of somebody who smiled for 10 minutes. The whole world that's that's holy. That's kesh. That's eternal. One mish made himself smile and caused another to smile. That's that's deep. That's mish holy. So I want to thank you for inviting myself. Mo's words were amazing. He says he's a writer. Now we know he's a speaker and I appreciate tremendously your words, your different are phenomenal and spoken. It's attractive words spoken. This there's no tricks, no speaking, just emote. Say what's on your mind and most said what's on his mind and we heard and went into ours. I thank you Huda for expressing his songs. He's talking to us and I thank you Huda for that. I want to express appreciation. Mr. Eisner Rab his grandson is a close friend of mine. See he and I are very good friends by Hashem. Extremely intelligent, sophisticated grandson and becoming very close friends. But you're involved and you're working the behind the scenes to build such a place of kindness. But here y is a yid is welcome here. Y come come come come come come come come come come come come come come come come come come come come come Y smile for a few minutes smile for the day and we have we have people who dedicated their summer that a Y should smile that's a beautiful place to be involved in thank you thank you Raid for all your work to make this holy place [applause] I want I'm coming I'm coming from Last year when I came I was Michelle of Jewish that was coming was traveling from I'm coming from it's never good to speak where you're not holding speak I like that Mo was holding last speak there speak where you're holding so I want to say something about will that's what's hitting me right now that's what I want to share with everybody here if I may it's relevant to this week I don't need it's relevant from the when you speak where you're holding it's only that's what's relevant but it will obviously connect to the three weeks that's coming upon us this week right before works walks down the aisle wild things are going on I don't say I can connect always and I can be there but I'm aware are holy places writes that not only does the not only does the not only do the parents of the noair not only do the parents of the have no says all the that joins the areas It's a space beyond is holy. Don't force don't force I. It's very important the the tish is very very don't force it. Wherever something's holy wherever your it's now somebody could get up and crack a joke. Somebody you can't ruin a holy thing. It's untouchable. Nobody ruins a minion when they speak. They shouldn't speak cuz they shouldn't speak cuz it's a holy moment. You can't ruin holy things so easily. It's I like in middle somebody like cracks jokes and messes like quote unquote messes it up. They don't mess anything don't force don't be intense tells people if you have no to you need a little kadoo in your life go sit by the sit here. the very holy space are the worldly nish come to the everybody here knows that just understand it's a simple fact nishamas are here too I promise you wherever it's holy that's just true wherever it's holy wherever there's kosha so nish must come they usually inhab that's where it's most holy but wherever there's a holy mish come We had a bak in yeshiva Ellie Ellie Shra beautiful bak and he liked the dings a lot in yeshiva Imamish was grown a late an open heart he loved the prayers in yeshiva his father of mati called me up he said Daniel he had passed away a few months before Ellie and his father at mati called me up out of nowhere mi was a straightforward straight shooter. He said, "Daniel, does the kazin wear the talis over his head in in waterberry?" So I said, "Yeah, it's in Berlin, right? Overlander was very strict at the time that the kazin should wear even the bakar he should put the talis cover of I like when it's done in yeshiva the kas should wear a covering. He should put the talis over his head. That's what we try. We've gone back. We try to insist on that." So Rabati said, "Is it true?" So I said, "Yeah, it's true. It's so funny you're asking like why are you asking out of the blue?" He said, "Cuz Ellie came to me in a dream last night and said that in Shay they allowed me to come back to the Dings in Waterberry and I know Dad, you're going to be skeptical. You're going to wonder is this true?" So I'll give you a simmon. Did you ever see Bah with the talis over the head? What bury the talis over the head? Ask Kaish. And if it's true, you know I'm telling you the truth. Mishas go where it's holy. Are holy nas come it's obvious simple. So you have to watch their holy places very spectacularly holy. One of them is before the walks down the aisle. This holy moment. So we take ashes. I was like last week the masser let me do it and I wanted to put a little ashes on my son's head drip of ash was looking so good I love when my kids have good hair I won't explain why and my son is beautiful head of hair and on his beautiful was made perfect there wasn't the blade I found look so nice but I took I didn't want to hurt it very gently want to mess up anything but I took a little ash and before he walked down I put it on his forehead. Now the message to the is you're about to build your home mameish. You're going to build your bay. A glorious day. Incredible day. You're building a home. Two yen are committing to be good to each other. A friendship is being born. I don't know holier things in the world. Remember, two yidden are going to be good to each other. Mameish. They're going to allow each other to smile and the world stops and fly in for such things. Really the entirety of our people come to we'll be very expensive and nothing would it would be too impossible. So we sent him when you go to a wedding you're representing all of our whole people should come and want to come except you know we have to life has to go on a bit. So he sent a couple of hundred wedding but our entire people are celebrating with nobody's saying it's our it's the of our people and you're about to build a bias but Hashem's home is not built. That's a complicated thought. Did I just hurt my did I just dampen my is the building a Jewish vi and I want them to be the and the entirety of our people want them to celebrate. Did we just like dampen the the I mean don't be too happy. No believes that. What was I telling my what was that ash on the head of father like somebody else I want my to be from one end of the world to the other what type of ta what type of father and instructed is kesh comes from our in heaven which do you think I was trying to dampen my son the It's my opinion that I was bringing him more joy. That's my personal opinion. I think the ash is powerful. I think the three weeks is powerful and I want to share that with here. I want to tell you what I was telling my son. Here's what I meant to tell my son Mish. I wanted to tell the m you think this that you know is crazy big. You're building a base. It's big big son. I want to tell you it's much bigger than you think. Much much much much. It's much larger than you think. You're looking at a husala. Wonderful. We're building a bay. Understand you're part of the greatest people, Hashem's people. Understand Amnisel is on a journey of Keshim. We're on our way to build to build Hashem's home. You're building the palace of our people and your is in context of that. Hashem's home isn't built. Hashem's home lies in ruin. And you and I, me and you, our story, our private story, our private pain when you try to apply to the three weeks before you think about sit in your story, my story. I can relate. I don't I'm so think your story. Your story is what we're talking about. The bashem would speak about this car. Your own story is what we're talking about and the next person and the next person next to you also. All of our stories together were part of a big people. An important and irreplaceable part of a big people on a big journey towards big ideas of building of building Hashem's home. I wasn't dampening my son's s. I was exploding the s. I was telling him it's much bigger than you think. Mish, there's a bigger story going on. Your story is relevant. I represent not just every today. I want to represent every year who ever lived. Hashem's people who care about who want to build a world of who want to build the world of godliness. This is a much bigger story. Now go out and respect your wife. Build a beautiful space and bring us closer to Amen. Amen. Thank you. >> [music] [music] >> Save our [music] mercy. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Savior. >> [music] >> Sh. And bringing a smile to another you bringing a smile to each other. Bring a smile. I always express in yeshiva what what's the definition of a warm yeshiva? A warm yeshiva is a yeshiva that yes is good to his wife. It's a warm the is kind to his wife. There's no warmth to them. There's warm described this in house. Our minds are certainly with all the human beings in Venezuela should be found and they should be refor matters to us. And said the reason we care about human beings in Venezuela is because we care about our wives and our children. And and so the test of a warm yeshiva starts is good to his wife. A warm yes is the are good to each other. The smiles you're going to bring to each other will extend the campers to others. I saw tonight the greetings beautiful greetings. This is a warm place. People are kind to each other. warmth that of course going to extend to all those that are lucky to come here is hashem but it's going to be hard sometimes I suspect is that an understatement right Michelle so I want to share something with here a guy asked me the guys in yeshiva are remarkably honest so a guy said do you ever want to quit kish we want to walk I say he said he said I need to Say what I heard. What he said was, "Rebi, do you want to quit?" I heard Ka, do you ever want to quit? So I want to tell you a verse from the bar. You say his name. We're going to sing a song again right after. Go back. But I want to say a ver. But when we sing it, we have to hold hands. The has to stand up and hold hands. It's weird to sing the not holding on to another year. It's too strange. I don't want to be strange. So we'll sing the in a minute to quote the lady. But I want to tell you something that says he asks in the parish the malak says to bum why are you hitting your donkey? Why are you hitting your donkey? Ask about I don't understand if the donkeyy's not moving. The bar and yes go to a farm. Farmer buck runs the farm. They always have such fun. I went once to check it out and told I was like very like made me think a lot. I like animals a lot. Horses are wonderful. The guy has tons of horses there. And Buck, farmer Buck told the if the horse doesn't go and he gave it a hard kick in the side of the horse. He said you go like this. And he's a big guy and he walloped his foot into the horse. If the horse doesn't go I didn't like that. I didn't like that. I hate you kicking. So Buck told me that it doesn't hurt him. You're talking to him. That's the language you understand. I I don't know. I'm not a buck and horses. Farmer Buck said it doesn't hurt. I don't know. But the the the I know always is. And the said, "What's wrong? When I saw the Malik said, what are you hitting the Malik?" I also wanted to sag the malik would tell also what are you hitting for but the says that it's not true that's the his donkeyy's not going you're supposed to give it a nice z that's how it works it doesn't hurt the animal the hashem is kind to every creature and is kind to to any animal of course to everybody idiot is kind we're godly and yet the ask that's the way if the doesn't go you give it a little clap not too hard so what's the malikum says to there was a there was a blockage in the road the horse this donkey stopped going he should have thought and rethought and decided not to go the malik was saying to Bum, "You have in the knee, you have a blockage." That should have given you pause. Instead of banging your donkey, you should have thought and decided not to curse, not to attack, not to start up cuz you had a cuz you had a blockage. So he the areas and anybody with any idealism ask those that constructed this place they're minas they're blockages and the mal says to bum a blockage should have told you to stop says if there blockages it says to fight harder. So I ask everybody here, do blockages tell you to stop when they say to fight harder and if you can't know so then what's the whole sy of manas? And clearly BA was expected to understand there's a mania there's a blockage stop. So we expected any good thing we do day three and you're exhausted and you have a blockage. It's so hard. You're drained. You're tired. Should you stop? Would the angels say to stop? Is that the message from Hashem? Do Mania say to stop or do they say to continue? Fair question to me. It seems manus all blockages always say rethink. I don't think you're supposed to be a counselor in H because you decided day one. I think that would be tragic a week in you're a counselor because of your sick decision you made a week ago. I have days I come into where I'm just I'm on fire guys like what's happening? You know why I'm on fire that day? Cuz I decided that morning to open something hap something happens and I have doubts and different thoughts. So mania makes you rethink. Manise blockages always do one thing. They say rethink. That's what men do. It's not a It's obvious. It's natural. It's not like a forest joke. If you're blocked, you rethink. Hey, pause for thought. This is hard. What do you do when you say this is hard? You have to make decisions. If it was wrong, Bill defy God. See you defy a second time. The made you make a decision. So the mal you sinned and you repeated the sin. You didn't just decide once to disobey Hashem and to challenge his precious people on Israel. You decided twice. You deserve a yelling from the angel. The when they had it's natural they stopped. The emo when they had blockages they stopped and they decided again to do it. You know what type of tiger you are and you decide again you're fresh. You're powerful. You're a fighter. A warrior. You're not fighting today. You don't take your job. I hope somebody's teaching. I hope they're not teaching today cuz they signed a contract a year ago. I hope they decided something hard, something difficult. They said, "Whoa, I got to think about this." Mania is natural. Just be present to life. It's not like it's not like an just a presence. Oh, hey, should I work here? Then you decide, you know, I think maybe they didn't smile as you're like fired. Your friend should say what's your friend should know on the day you're mish, you're functioning with such a fire, such an energy. What's going on? I decided this morning to work here. Oh wow. Okay. You're fresh. You're fire. You're passionate. Your mish decided that is the is always make a person stop. It's not like it doesn't need work. It just needs precedence. There's a blockage. Hey, should I go? The didn't just decide once to be loyal to Hashem. Every caused another decision. Amish fire and they build with an energy and a passion and an aliveness and a presence that's wild cuz they decided with each mania to do it again. You don't choose the truth once you choose the truth again. My son called me my I have a married son describes a hard night with a child and you decide again woo can't sleep. Oh, but a child to raise a child, you become a parent again. You're fired. Every blockage, every challenge, every difficulty makes a pause. And the pause allows not to have decided yesterday to do what I'm doing. The holy thing I'm doing, Hashem says, "Here, stop. Think again." The says, "You know what? Can I want to do this? I mean this. It matters to make a yetid smile. I'm deciding again you're fight you're a tiger. People will see you friends don't you don't have to say everything. People will see a certain energy on the days guys in yeshiva see a certain energy. It's just passion. I just took the job. I manage fresh on the job. You're nuts. Yeah. The energy tonight you decided you managed. You just decided the energy is a lecture in the room because you decided that decision of the next time it's hard stop. Stop. That's what happens when it's hard. That's natural. Stop. Think again. Then your friends are going to see you're like, "Woo! Whoa! You me I just took the job today. Decided decided to do it again." Every once in a while at meetings, I'll ask my friends, "You think we should do? Should we should we run this place? Think so. Yeah, let's do it. Let's do Should we? But then maybe we should stop pause that blockages always the min and have those min do the same thing. They cause pause and he's yelled at for a second time you decide to defy Hashem for the are an opportunity. For the second time, I decided to serve Hashem. Ever fresh, ever known, ever, ever strengthened. I'm a man. I'm a woman who's decided today to do the right thing. That's you're powerful. Please remember this all your lives. If something causes you caused you to pause, which is that's you don't have to work on that. Just be present to it. Hashem sent. It's very very good. It's a time to ask, to reflect. Hey, should I do what I'm doing? So beautiful. You get to say, hey, if it's right, what I'm doing, I think I should do this. You pause. You stop. The donkey stop moving. You decide to do it again. You're fire. You're powerful. The should give all of us in the beautiful things we do. We're doing this summer and all the decisions of our life. Don't be afraid of blackness. They're opportunity. They're an opportunity to be a person who decides again. I ask everybody here much like this summer in all the beautiful things you decided don't be afraid of blockages. Don't be afraid of even other energies from within. It's a good opportunity to think again to ask, hey, is this right? Is this what God wants for me? Is this the truth? And you see it's the truth when I'm doing that old Then decide you're powerful. The should give us that strength of the ever fresh decider. Let's sing the time holding each other up, supporting each other. Come. [music] Yeah. Heat. [singing] [music] [singing] [music] >> [music] [singing] >> Heat. [music] Heat. [singing and music] Heat.
