Rabbi Daniel Glatstein about Rabbi Meir Zlotowitz

I recently went to an art scroll event where they featured the closing paragraph of Rabbi Mayor's Ladawitz's acknowledgements for his commentary on Miguel which I believe was the very first work that Art Scroll published in 1976. There Rabbi Zladawitz writes that his objective in writing this commentary is not just for the commentary itself but to inspire other authors to further expand upon his work and to explain and explicate other mikah in Tyra and other parts of Tyra and to help overcome the language barrier that has prevented so many English-speaking yidden from really delving into the Tyra. And he writes, "If he will be successful even partially in his goal, it will have been worth all the thousands of combined man-hour that went into producing this volume." And we see here it is 50 years later. How from that small offering, he literally created a revolution. And this is very inspiring to me because this shows a person, you just do your part. You have a good idea. You have a an important mitzvah to do. You do your best. You put your best foot forward. Whatever you could do in this world, give it your best shot. You never know what could come come from it. You think it will have a small effect. You really never know. It could change the whole world.
