wow KES to everybody happy KES Taves we
are now in the month of tavet or Taves
and it is a wonderful month KES Taves
has 29 days and those days are full of
some very wonderful wonderful things
that's right d'vorah the word
tavas has similar letters to the word
Tove good I wonder if that's why they
called it the month of tavas because
it's full of good things like the month
of tavas begins with Kaneka that's right
the last two days of Kaneka fall out in
the month of Taves so we start off with
a lot of light and a lot of Joy also on
the first day of tavas well that's when
Queen Esther became the queen of Persia
incredible it even says so in the Milla
in the month of Taves incredible then
later on in the month we have the fifth
day of Taves hey Taves which is a
special day when the laaba Reb's books
his sarim were returned to the Lich
Library what a happy day it was then on
the eighth of
Taves Taves well that's the day that
King TMI of Egypt had the Tyra
translated into Greek could you imagine
learning Torah in Greek sounds pretty
normal today you can get the Torah in
all kinds of languages but in those days
it was never done before and because of
it in the eyes of the Egyptians and the
Greeks the Torah was just another book
and we know the Torah is super important
it's the most important safer in the
whole world then on the ninth of Taves
we have the passing of Ezra hoper Ezra
the scribe a scribe is someone who
writes down things and Ezra hasofer
wrote down some very special books in
the tanak in the books of the Nim and
Kim wow Ezra sofer's yard site
then on the 10th of Taves well it's one
of the saddest days for the Jewish
people it's the day that nead netar the
king of Babel surrounded the walls of
yerushalaim it was called a Siege and
that Siege eventually led to the
destruction of the BAM mikdash harishon
the first bam
mikdash then on the 20th day of Taves
that's the day the gamarra was first
printed as a book
in the city of Cino Italy wow and the
20th of tavas is also the day of passing
of the ROM rabenu mosha Ben maon one of
the greatest authors of Jewish
torim we also have kaves the 24th of
Taves that's the day of passing of the
alter REI of kabad RAB Z ofl and then on
the 25th of Taves the safer kov Telos
duties of the heart was first printed by
rabenu Baka wow so many things happened
in the month of Taves and you know what
a lot of them have to do with books
Jewish books incredible do you have

Taves
[Music]
tavet hi cougle hi Rabbi B you know that
there is a fast day in the month of
tavet I did know that there is a fast
day
in the month of Taves do you know which
one it is sure the 10th day of tavet is
a day when Jewish adults fast and a fast
Day means that Jewish people over the
age of bar orbas mitzvah don't eat or
drink anything some fast days we're not
even allowed to shower or wash our hands
yes there are six fast days in the
Jewish calendar would you like to know
more about them sure I'd love to know
more about the Jewish fast days okay
cougle tell me about the fast days on
the Jewish calendar okay here you
go on the third of tishay that's s
Galia on the 10th day of Tish that's yum
kipur that's the day the Torah tells us
to fast on the 10th of tavit that's the
day the Babylonians surrounded the walls
of
yusim on the 13th day of Adar we
remember how Queen Esther told everyone
to fast to make sure she can save
everyone from
Haman on the 17th of tamuz that's the
day the Babylonians broke the walls of
yusim and ended up destroying the BAM
mikdash
and on the ninth of a that's when both B
hamik dashes were broken it is a very
sad
day wow that was really fascinating
cougle thank you and of course fast days
are not just about not eating and
drinking they're also about increasing
in Good Deeds on a fast day we do extra
doing we read the Torah and we also can
give extra Saka except on yipper of
course all these wonderful things we do
show Hashem how much we love him and how
much we love each other and that in turn
makes Hashem want to bless us with only
good things that we should have no more
reasons to fast anymore well thanks
again cougle you're welcome Rabbi B
bye-bye everyone

about the time when the walls of yusim
were surrounded and every day in daving

about

well I love books I sure do and I've
even written a few books of my own I
have the great shabas food
debate I've written a book of funny
poems and I've written a 12 book series
all about different different subjects
like bees clouds oceans and outer space
well writing a book is not so hard at
all and really all you need is a really
good idea or a really good story so the
first thing you want to do is sit down
with a pencil and paper or a computer
and write down your story then you want
to break up your story into Pages which
words Will Go On which page then you're
going to want to build your book the
first thing you're going to need is some
paper now you want to make sure you have
enough paper for the amount of pages you
need in your book Ask a grown-up to help
you find out how many papers you're
going to need because we're going to
fold those papers in half to make our
book fold the paper in half give it a
good push down along the edge then what
real book binders do is they'll take
some string and they will tie the book
the book pages together put the string
in the middle of the papers and tie it
on the back of the
fold then you can just cut off the rest
of the string and leave it on the side
there you go now you have your book and
it's all ready to go the pages won't
fall out now of course you're going to
see that you're going to see that string
and we don't want to see the string so
we're going to make a cover page for
that I'm going to use a different color
paper with a bit of thickness to it this
is a thick cardboard kind of a poster
board paper we're going to fold that in
half as
[Music]
well and then we'll take some hot glue
now ask a grown-up to help you and just
put some hot glue along the the crease
of your cover paper inside your cover
there you go perfect then you'll take
your papers for your book and you'll
just stick them on on to the glue right
in the middle of the
fold and you can even open up those
pages and push it down and then once
that glue dries you'll have a beautiful
cover and you'll have your pages inside
your book ready to go okay there we go
now that our book is ready we can start
to create the story inside the first
thing we want to do is write down a
title the title of our story my story is
going to be called reit's
Inc all right and also don't forget to
write the author's name that's You by
Rabbi
B and now what you'll do is on each page
you can write down the words to the
story and you can draw a picture let's
write together I think I'll use red
crayon
rabbitson Khan's husband reab leevy Yak
was arrested by the Soviet Union for
teaching
Torah rebit and Khana went with her
husband into Exile and saw him learn
Torah every day he was not able to take
notes or write down new ideas because he
did not have a pen or
pencil rabbits and Khana knew how to
make ink using berries and flowers she
could find find
outside she crushed and mixed all the
ingredients together to make ink for her
husband to write his Torah ideas
down rebic would write his Torah
thoughts on anything he could find even
on the sides of his other Torah
books sadly reic passed away in Exile
but rebit and Khana was able to leave
and she brought her husband's Torah
books with her
bar hasem reiton KH was able to escape
the Soviet Union and she eventually
joined her son the luich rebe in
America she was also able to get some of
Ric's Torah books and writings out of
Russia and they are still learned by
people
today rabits and Khana is a true Jewish
hero she risked her life to make sure
the Torah would not be
[Music]
forgotten wow what a great story and we
wrote it and made it all by ourselves
and by hash it's amazing rabbits and
kan's birthday is the 28th day of Tes
this month wow everything is so
connected well I hope you get to make
yourself a special story book and make
sure you read it and share it with all
your friends and family happy
