[Music] oh yeah [Music] ah the great outdoors and I'm getting ready for my favorite holiday of sukhot sukis I love sukis because you get to be outside sitting in a sukkah and the weather is getting cooler it's not hot summer anymore and it's not yet cold winter we're right in between and and of course building a sukkah is fun and sitting in the sukkah is fun and shaking the Lula [Music] shaking the Lula of an etrog S Rogue is fun and of course sukkas is a time to be happy one of the names of Sukkot is Zeman simchate the time of our happiness what is devorah up to she keeps going by with branches and different things let's go take a look and see what devorah is busy with [Music] devorah I knew you were building Asuka wow your Sucka looks great [Music] devorah must be building her sukkah just in time for Haag sukat but let's take a look at Devora Suka and make sure it's Kosher for sukut that's right devorah we're not gonna eat the sukkah in this case kosher means we want to make sure our sukkah is the way the Torah says it should be let's see if devorah sukha has at least three walls [Music] yep devorah Suka has three walls it has four walls and that's more than three okay great now let's see if Devora Suka is covered with on top that is a very strange word devorah you're right means the branches that we put on top of the sukkah we put special branches or bamboo sticks or branches cut from a tree but not branches that are still attached to a tree let's see if devorasuka has some on top yep it has a nice amount not too little and enough to cover the whole roof wow incredible devorah now let's see if devorah can go into her sukkah and if she'll be small enough to fit and be able to rest her whole body and enjoy the holiday of sukat she's already in there looks like she's having a bit of a honey party wow well hugsukot is such a happy holiday to you and a happy sukut I have some fun games and songs we can play in honor of the holiday so come along with myself a sukkah with four walls and a door it doesn't have a ceiling it doesn't have a floor the stock will be the ceiling the Earth will be the floor we'll hang some decorations I'm ready now for sure I love to sit in you I love to shake the loo love and the S Rook too oh I love to sit in you I love to shake the new Love and the etrub too I built myself a sukkah with four walls and a door it love and the S Rogue 20 I love to sit in you I love to shake the lulav and the edge Rock too [Music] happy sukat on sukut there's a Mitzvah to build Asuka but how many walls does Asuka have to have well there's a sewed a secret in the word sukkah you need three letters to write the word sukha asameh and a hey now the samach has all four sides covered just like a sukkah can have four walls or the letter cuff has three walls so Asuka can also have three walls or the letter A which has two and a half walls that's also okay for Asuka to have two and a half walls that's a great so secret in the word Suka [Music] also called sukis is my favorite Jewish holidays it comes right after Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur and it's a very happy holiday but there are lots of things we need to celebrate Sukkot properly first we need to build a sukkah of course Asuka is a special Hut we spend time in on sukut you can make Asuka out of anything as long as it has at least three walls and a special roof called I like to make mine out of metal poles and canvas walls foreign [Music] we make sure the poles are stuck together tightly so our sukkah does not fall down okay nice and tight now our sukkah is very very strong the next thing we need to do is wrap this canvas tarp around the walls of the sukkah that way the wind doesn't bother our eating and our sukkah is even stronger than ever foreign [Music] even has a window hello once we're done wrapping the sukkah the next thing we need is a roof the roof on Asuka is called I like to use bamboo mats for this look how long this bamboo mat is perfect for draping over the top of Asuka you can also use branches like these Cedar branches they look really beautiful when you look through the bamboo I also love to decorate my sukkah look at all these fancy decorations that you can add to make your sukkah really beautiful [Music] which one would you choose for your sukkah oh look at these light up decorations some people like to keep their sukkah without decorations because the Mitzvah of the sukkah is so beautiful on its own but one way to beautify your sukkah is to invite guests inside to eat some food and sing some songs you can even spend time learning inside of your sukkah and don't forget to make a bracha leishev basuka I can't wait to sit in my sukkah you know the holiday of Sukkot is such a wonderful time to be together with your family and friends inside the sukkah and there's no better way to make your sukkah even more beautiful than adding some of your very own artwork you know a lot of you have sent artwork to me and I thought it might be a nice idea to hang some of it up in my sukkah there's this beautiful picture of the mountain song from Shavuot from my friend Naomi and Miri made this really nice picture of I think Rabbi B with devorah the bee davora you see yourself there that's so nice and of course chalva made a picture of Rabbi B with his guitar that looks really great well some people have Asuka made out of wood and a wood sucker is very easy to put the artwork on because all you have to do is take some nails or a pin or some tape and put it right on the wall but this year my sukkah is going to be made of fabric it's going to be covered in a canvas and I don't think pins or nails are going to work for that so I came up with a really nice idea I like to use these clothes pins you know clothes pins the ones that open and close like that what we're going to do is we're going to decorate a very nice picture devorah can I show this picture quickly you can find this picture in the video description below or email Rabbi bmusic gmail.com for the template and all you gotta do is color in the pictures and then we'll cut them out and you'll have little cutouts this one is you devorah and this one is Rabbi b as a guitar that's so fun there's also another option on the page and devorah is busy coloring in the Square rectangle shape now are you finished with that picture of devorah that's really really nice I'm gonna use this one now you see devorah colored outside the lines and that's okay because we're going to be cutting it out anyways so take my scissors and we'll cut out the rectangle shape because all you're going to need is that little rectangle shape because I'll show you what we're going to do and Devore you're going to like this because you can make other artwork because I know a lot of you made artwork in school and it's so beautiful and so pretty so I thought instead of making new artwork we could do something to help you show your artwork all right we're going to use devorah's rectangle shape and one clothespin what you're gonna do is you're going to take some glue and put some glue on the clothespin just a lot of glue on one side of the clothespin then you're gonna stick on your rectangle shape [Music] all right and once it's dry hey that's it you're done that's gonna help you hang the artwork inside the sukkah there you go so you can do the rectangle shape or you could do the same thing with another shape that you colored in you could even make your own pictures if you like I'm going to use the rabbi B one yeah devorah you're really good at coloring but look at this now I have a rabbi B clip so now we can clip my Rabbi B picture with my Rabbi B clip and when you go inside your sukkah have your mom or dad your Abba or IMA help you run a line from one pole to another pole and then have your mom or dad your Abba or IMA hang your pictures inside the sukkah to make it extra beautiful as I say Asuka is already beautiful on its own but it makes it even more beautiful to have beautiful art and pictures inside and you know what devorah you know what makes Asuka even more beautiful than that when you invite friends and family inside to you know what they're called which one's the hadassim which one's the hadassen do you know you got it you're right this is the hadasim and they're really really beautiful don't you think they're really beautiful colors yeah they're bright green and no they smell really nice do you smell them mmm they smell really nice those are hadassem and those come from the Myrtle tree wow and how many hadasim do we have here that's right we have three those are really beautiful what about the next ones you know what these are called these kinds of leaves are called I love those that's right a ravos a Rebels come from a willow tree did you ever hear about a willow tree hmm now how many how how many arrivals do we have here two you're right we have two and do they have any smell hmm foreign they have no smell at all they are very special though all right next in line we have is that a lemon no what is it a escrow you're right that's an S Rogue or etrobe and it's really beautiful it's yellow and a little bit green and is it bumpy yeah a little bit bumpy it has even a little bit of a lemony to smell mmm very nice that's our s rug very very beautiful fruit and last in line we have the very long What's this called that's right the lulav do you love the Lou love but of course that's the Lou love and that's the longest of them all I think right now on sukis on Sukkot it's a Mitzvah to bring all four of these plants and vegetables together we hold the lulav in our hand we tie on the aravos we tie on the hadasim and we hold it together with the esrug can you hold it together with me and we give it a shake in all the different directions right and left forward up down and back wow in all the places that Hashem can be found but also putting all these different things together remind us how all the Jewish people also have to work together no matter what kind of a Jewish person you are no matter if you're very smart or very kind or very strong or very funny any kind of person we can all work together right yeah yeah but of course that's the lesson in the arba meaning and the four things we use on sukkas that shows us how we can all work together and treat each other as equals and be friends do you like being friends yeah well then you must love did you know that the arba minim the four things we shake on sukkas teach us a lesson in ahavas Israel just like each of our body parts are important and work together to help us do things like Mitzvahs so too each of us is important and when we work together with our friends we can do even more of hashem's Mitzvahs each of the dalid minim even look like a different body part what about the hadasim leaves what do they look like I think they look like eyes reminding us to always see the good in each other what about the aravos leaves I think they look like our lips reminding us to always speak nicely to each other what about the srug maybe a head to remind us to always think nicely about each other or some say it even looks like a heart reminding us to always love each other and the lulav what does it look like maybe a leg telling us to go and do a Mitzvah or maybe an arm showing us that we can use our hands to give sadaka and do other special Mitzvahs and some say the lulav looks like a spine our backbone which holds our body up straight reminding us to always be proud about being Jewish so let's
