dentist office there's a beautiful
waiting room for you to wait until your
name is called once it's your turn
you'll get to wear a funny paper bib
just in case of any splashing you also
get to wear these really fun
glasses then you get to lay back in a
really cool
chair the dentist will take pictures of
all your teeth to make sure that they're
healthy
[Music]
the dentist uses a very bright light so
they can see inside your mouth dentists
use all kinds of tools to help make your
teeth nice and clean they even use some
of these tools to polish your teeth to
make them very
shiny the dentist may want to count how
many teeth you have in your mouth do you
know how many you have dentists are very
very friendly and they want you to feel
comfortable so if you ever have any
questions about what they're doing just
ask make sure to open wide and stay very
still while the dentist cleans your
teeth say
ah dentists will check our teeth for
cavities cavities are little holes in
our teeth that are made from sugar and
food that's left on our teeth so
brushing and flossing helps get rid of
that food and helps prevent
cavities ruul gets to look in the mirror
at her own teeth they look pretty
healthy dentists also teach us how to
brush our teeth back to back and side to
side making sure every part of the tooth
is nice and clean
[Music]
dentists tell us that we should brush
our own teeth every morning and every
night and don't forget to brush your
tongue too flossing is also very
important because the floss gets in
between the teeth and helps keep those
areas nice and clean
[Music]
too we should try to floss our teeth at
least once a day
the next thing dentists like to do
during your checkup is Polish your
[Music]
teeth they use a special polisher that
tickles your teeth and makes them so
[Music]
shiny this special tool helps suck up
saliva from the tooth to keep it dry
while they're
[Music]
polishing great job rle your appointment
is almost done sometimes the main
dentist comes in at the end of your
appointment just to double check that
your teeth are
[Music]
healthy time to rinse your mouth with
some
water
the appointment is over look at those
shiny
teeth some dentists give you special
prizes at the end of your visit like
toothbrushes and
flossers wow what a fun visit some
dentists even have toy prizes just for
saying thanks for
[Music]
coming great job rule on your dental
checkup
our mouth has four sections of teeth top
right bottom right top left and bottom
left this song has four parts each part
tells you how long to brush your teeth
in each section of your mouth when you
hear the Bell change the side you're
brushing here we go Hashem wants me to
brush my
teeth my teacher says to brush my teeth
my dentist says to brush my teeth my
parents say to brush my
[Music]
teeth I know that I can keep my teeth
clean squeeze the toothpaste on the
brush try not to use too
much place the brush on your teeth rub
the top and
underneath
then I know that I can keep my teeth
clean brush it on the other
side find the places sugar likes to
hide up and down side to side find the
places sugar likes to hide
[Music]
I know that I can keep my teeth
clean brushing teeth is so much
fun rinse with water when you are
done put the brush back on the Shelf I
brush my teeth all by
myself then Mar
look at me I kept my teeth
clean great job you brushed all four
sections of your teeth now your teeth
are very
[Music]
clean it's very important for us to
remember that it's not only about
keeping our mouth clean by brushing our
teeth but also about keeping our mouth
clean by using kind words today's story
is called a penny for your kindness and
it talks about a special event that
happened when someone said a kind word
let's begin the story shall
we there once was a
miser a miser is someone that does not
like to share their money or give to Dua
it's not a very nice thing to be but
let's speak nicely and think think of a
nice way to say how someone is a miser
maybe they just don't know how to give
sadaka or maybe they share their tadaka
secretly we never know but let's
continue the story to see what
happens this miser's name was Mr s Mr s
never gave Sedaka if someone asked him
for money he would only give one penny
which was not a lot of money at all
every time he gave a penny The Collector
would throw it back to him saying only
one penny that's worth so little we
don't even want
it Mr S Felt so hurt by these comments
that he never felt good about giving any
more than one penny to
tedua over the years Mr s became very
wealthy but he still would only give his
one penny to tadaka one day there came a
new kind of collector one who knew the
beauty of giving Sedaka and how to see
the good in everyone's actions this
collector's name was Rabbi schneir zman
who was later known as the alter rabba
of kabad Rabbi schn Zan came to Mr s's
town to collect money for poor families
the people of the Town told him don't
bother going to Mr s for Sedaka he is a
Miser and never gives more than one
penny but Rabbi schn Zan knew that each
Mitzvah was precious no matter how big
or how much so rabash zman went knocking
on Mr s's door when Mr s saw the rabbi
standing there asking for Sedaka Mr s
took out his one penny and handed it to
him Mr s was waiting for the rabbi to
throw it back at him but this time
something different happened Rabbi SCH
zman said Thank you Mr s could not
believe his ears what did you say I said
thank you for your tedua this Penny will
go towards helping poor families thank
you answered rabn zman rabish zman began
walking away until Mr s called him back
wait right there Rabbi Mr s said he went
back into his house and brought out a
much larger sum of money here let me
give you more said Mr s wow said Rabbi
schne zman that is so kind of you thank
you so much we can surely help so many
more families with your Sedaka Mr S Felt
So Good inside about his mitzva that he
told the rabbi to wait again he ran back
into his house and this time grabbed a
whole bag full of money he handed it to
Rabbi schn zman and said take as much as
you need I love giving Saka it's my
favorite Mitzvah Rabbi schn Zan was so
grateful thank you thank you thank you
he said the other collectors in the town
could not believe what they saw they
were shocked to see Mr s give so much to
tadaka and to hear him say how much he
loved giving to Daka they all approached
rabash Zan and asked for an
explanation you see explained rabash
Alman Mr s never knew how good it felt
to give to Daka because every time he
tried to give his Penny nobody ever took
it so he was never able to give this
time I not only took his Penny but I
said thank you it was the first time
anyone ever made him feel good about
giving and once he felt that great
feeling he wanted to feel it more and
more the end wow rabash Zan really
helped Mr s be a kind and helpful person
you know Mr s was always kind and
helpful but no one ever gave him a
chance to be kind and helpful but rabash
Zan used the word thank you to help make
Mr s realize he truly was a kind person
and we could do the same thing for our
friends and our family if we always find
the nice things to say and the kind
words to use we can make the people
around us feel happier and Kinder and
more
helpful oh I think I hear a sound I
think it sounds like cougle let's go
check and see if coule has the question
of the
[Music]
day well hey there cougle nice to see
you Rabbi B nice to see you too do you
have the question of the day for us
today I do but how about a game first oh
what a great idea you know cogle was
just hearing what we were saying and
cougle has a game well oh and here's
d'vorah too d'vorah would you like to
play a game with me and cougle wonderful
okay coule what's the game I'll show you
a picture and you have to find nice
things to say about it oh that sounds
like a lot of fun we have to look at the
picture cougle shows us and we have to
say something nice about the picture and
use kind words okay cougle I'm game
let's go okay here is the first picture
H I think I recognize that picture
that's a drawing one of my fans sent me
in an email thank you so much what's
that
d'vorah now d'vorah you're showing us
maybe what we should not do d'vorah is
saying that the picture is very messy
and it's very very scribbly and the
person colored outside the lines and all
the not nice things but guess what
d'vorah when you say those words to
someone it makes them feel sad and it
won't make them want to draw anymore and
if they don't draw anymore they may
never get better at drawing so we want
to make sure we give them positive words
and kind words so let's find something
nice that we can say
instead
okay I have one how about I love the
colors that they chose they really chose
some beautiful colors I think that's a
nice thing to say so hey you use some
great
colors wonderful dvor d'vorah also said
the fact that the person took the time
to draw a nice picture that they thought
about what they wanted to draw and they
use their time to draw a beautiful
picture hey that's a great thing to say
too all right C I think we're ready for
the next picture okay here is another
picture that is a very overgrown Garden
but if we were going to say something
not nice like oh that Garden looks very
messy or that Garden looks very ugly
that might hurt the person who lives
there's feelings or it might hurt
hashem's feelings cuz hashem's the one
who made it well let's find something
good oh d'vorah already thought of
something good that we can say you know
d'vorah is a bee and bees are insects
and insects always love messy Gardens to
live in because it gives them so many
places to hide so many places to stay
out of the Sun and so many things to eat
that's a great idea so maybe this Garden
is perfect for insects or maybe the
person who lives there likes having
Gardens like that because they like to
color green a lot it's a very green
garden that's for sure well there you
you go another nice example of something
kind we can say about a picture all
right I think we're ready for one more
coule okay here is one more picture that
that person in that picture looks a
little bit lazy like they're not doing
anything they're just laying back
relaxing well you could say something
not nice by telling them that they're
lazy but maybe there's a nice thing we
can say like they look really comfy or
maybe they had a long day and did so
much much work that they needed to take
a break and they're resting so they
could get up and do more work and do
more things so that's a nice way to say
that too yeah so that's what we have to
do in our day is find the nice things to
say to people to say thank you to say
please to say you're welcome to say
something nice about someone else that
makes our world a much nicer place and
that makes other people much nicer
people too there you go hey Rabbi B how
about the question of the day oh that's
what that's what we came for cougle we
came for the question of the day and you
have one okay cougle what is the
question of the
day hi RAB my name is Noom I have a
question for you does a Torah tell you
to brush your teeth wow Noom that's a
great question does the Torah ask us to
brush our
teeth I wonder well I guess we're going
to have to ask the Torah Torah Torah
does the Torah tell us to brush our
teeth the T
[Music]
says which meansem wants you to protect
and take care of your body teeth
included when you take care of your body
that helps you do the mewah of hasem in
the best way
possible I see very good answer and a
very good question too the Torah wants
us to take care of our bodies so
therefore brushing our teeth is part of
that getting a good night's sleep eating
healthy exercising all those things are
part of that Mitzvah
of to protect and take care of our
bodies great answer oh I think Noom has
another question hi I have another
question does the Tor I tell you how to
brush your
teeth that's a really good question how
are we we supposed to brush our teeth
okay cougal do we have the answer for
how we're supposed to brush our teeth
sure watch this hi everyone we're going
to talk about how do we take care of our
teeth so in our mouth T kids typically
have 20 teeth in their mouth at around
age 6 years old they get their first set
of adult teeth and around 12 years old
they get their second set of adult teeth
those teeth are in their mouth forever
until they're going to be a a big big
big adult so how do we take care of our
teeth we take our toothbrushes and we
put a little bit of toothpaste on we say
a p size amount on the
bristles when you brush your teeth there
are certain spots we need to brush we
need to brush the front of our teeth we
need to brush the insides of our teeth
and we need to brush the tops of our
teeth so when we take our toothbrush
we're going to brush
front insides
and tops of our teeth same thing on the
top
front
[Music]
around
insides and tops of our teeth that is
going to make sure that all the sugar
bugs come off of the surface of our
teeth when we brush our teeth we brush
for 2 minutes at a time sometimes it's
fun to play a song so that we know how
long we're supposed to brush for and and
we make sure we brush for the whole 2
minutes when we are done brushing at
night time typically we want to make
sure that we remve the sugar bugs in
between our teeth also so you can take a
floss stick it's a little bit easier for
children to use instead of string and
this is going to take out all the sugar
bugs that get stuck in between our teeth
so what you do is you just push it in
between each of the teeth to make sure
we clean it out it's okay to ask a
parent or an older sibling to help you
if it's a little bit
difficult we want to make sure we put
healthy fruits and vegetables inside of
our mouth also to keep our teeth nice
and clean and healthy what are some
examples we can have apples we can have
oranges celery cucumbers lots and lots
of water to help make sure our teeth are
healthy we want to make sure that we
take care of our teeth because healthy
teeth means a healthy body
also wow well thank you cougle and thank
you Stephanie our Dental expert for that
amazing answer yeah well devorah is
excited to use her
toothbrush oh d'vorah doesn't remember
if she brushed her teeth yet or not you
know what d'vorah I have a great idea we
could make a special craft a special
brushing your teeth chart that you could
use every day to keep track if you
brushed your teeth in the morning and if
you brushed your teeth in the evening
come along let's go to the art room and
let's go make a special brushing your
teeth craft we'll see you
there d'vorah was saying that it was
difficult for her to remember if she
brushed her teeth or not and to make it
more fun when she does brush her teeth
I've prepared a special brushing your
teeth chart that she could use and you
could use it too you could either
download the PDF file in the comments
Below in this video or email me at Rabbi
bmusic gmail.com and I'll send you the
PDF document of this craft so we start
off with this this has the seven days of
the week Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday
Thursday Friday and Shabbat now Shabbat
is a special case and we'll talk about
it in a second I also have 12 if you can
count them 1 2 3 four five six 7 8 9ine
10 11 12 little teeth cut out I think Dr
Stephanie said that you had 20 teeth in
your mouth have you ever counted how
many teeth you have in your
mouth and I also have a title as well as
a good morning and good night sign and
some special velcro dots that we're
going to use for this craft okay the
first thing we could do is put the title
on the top of our page I'm using some
double-sided tape just to add the title
to the very top of the page so we can
know that this is a toothbrushing
chart there we
go now I have two signs for good morning
and good night usually we want to start
the day with good morning and end the
day with good night of course so we'll
add the good morning sign to this side
of the
chart and the good night sign to this
side of the
chart
it will move up the title a little bit
higher so we're not blocking the good
morning and good night there we go all
right next we have each day and each
night so I'm going to add one of these
velcro dots to either side of the days
of the week so I'm going to add a velcro
dot on the
Sunday in the morning and a velcro dot
on the Sunday at night a velcro dot on
the Monday in the morning and a velro
dot on the Sunday at Monday at night and
I'm going to keep going for all the days
of the
week all right now you noticed I missed
one on the Shabbat morning that's
because some rabis hold that we do not
brush our teeth on Shabbat morning or at
least not to brush it in the regular way
if you want to know how to brush your
teeth on Shabbat ask your Rabbi or ask
your mommy or daddy your IMA or ABA for
more information
but for now we're not going to use it
for shabis by morning all right the next
thing I'm going to do is add the other
piece of velcro to the back of one of
the teeth I'll take the hard velcro I
used the soft velcro for the days of the
week so on the back of the tooth I will
put the other type of velcro the harder
kind that way it'll stick to the soft
velcro there we go so now if Sunday
morning I brushed my teeth I could put
the tooth right there on Sunday mornings
brushing and then either I could just
use one tooth and Sunday night Sunday
night I could move the tooth over to
Sunday night and say good I brushed my
teeth Sunday night that way on Monday
morning I could take a look at my chart
and say hm did I brush my teeth last
night yes I did and now Monday morning
when I brush my teeth I move the tooth
to Monday morning and then Monday night
Tuesday Tuesday night Wednesday
Wednesday night Thursday th Thursday
Friday and then Friday night we always
try to brush our teeth before Shabbat
begins once again because Shabbat some
people say we're not meant to brush our
teeth in the regular way so before
Shabbat begins just brush those teeth
just before Shabbat starts and there we
go and that way on Saturday night on
Moes Shabbat I could take my tooth brush
my teeth before going to bed and start
my week all over again so that special
chart will help d'vorah and help all of
you to keep track if you brushed your
teeth or not I hope you did because it's
very good to brush your teeth and to
have healthy teeth and to use healthy
words too great I'm sure d'vorah is
going to love this chart let's bring it
to her and then we'll help her brush
your teeth okay we'll see you out
there all right d'vorah wow you're
outside all ready to brush your teeth
that's wonderful and look what I made
for you a special Rabbi bees teethbrush
brushing chart that you could keep next
to your sink or next to where you brush
your teeth and you can keep track of if
you brushed your teeth using one of
these little teeth stick on pieces so on
Sunday morning if you brush your teeth
you could stick on the tooth right there
and now you know you brushed your teeth
on Sunday morning well that's for you
I'll help you put that up in your
bathroom sure thing d'vorah well it was
such a wonderful day learning all about
taking care of our teeth and using our
teeth and mouth for good things for
saying nice words and kind words we
could really make someone's day we could
make someone happy someone confident
someone to feel good with the words that
we use and brushing our teeth will help
us do the job as well well for now it's
goodbye from Rabbi B d'vorah the be and
