Rabbi Akiva Eiger's Table A Lesson in Empathy

And it remind me of the story they say over at Akiva Eiger about the guest who spilled the wine all over the new tablecloth. So Akiva Eiger, you know, hit the table and and you never heard that story? Maybe I should know it. Akiva Eiger so there he had the you know, he had guests by the table at Akiva Eiger's at Saul and a guest by accident spilled over wine. It was a it was a nice new white tablecloth. Akiva Eiger saw how embarrassed he was. So he uh underneath the guest he he used [music] his knee or something to kick the table and so his wine also spilled. He says, "Oh, I guess there's something wrong with the table, you know, it's shaking." Just to make another person feel at ease when something uncomfortable happened awkward [music] happens these were good all of them, you know. Wow. So that story [music] yes is true and my father would talk about it.
