for [Music] we are back on our Wednesday night St Rabbi where uh after a little bit of you guys will ask some questions and will give us the answers tonight's you will be for for a but Su Talia s bana all of is and all of the wonderful supporters that we have that helping us do amazing things I'm getting some uh pictures and uh videos and voice notes from uh different people that have received the uh the gifts the um that we're sending in all of these uh really know how to um show gratitude and uh it's uh really wonderful not that we're necessarily looking for gratitude but it's uh it's nice to see um how much uh you know you could help people and how much you guys are helping people with uh your donations and support uh so uh you know we have our um puim is uh tomorrow uh for some of you it's that are in different countries it's in a matter of you know few hours you're already beginning the first part of puim which is the fast of still uh starts in the morning and continues until after the reading of the meila after the reading of the meila uh even though the fast ends uh before the meila uh is read uh the tradition is not to eat until after the reading of the Miga after you've heard the meila um if somebody's very weak they could get a drink or something like that but generally speaking it's best to wait until after the reading of the migil to um complete the fast uh after that you could eat whatever you want as long as it's kosher uh it does not have to be meat it could be Dairy it could be parve it could be meat whatever you want uh the the main meal of puim is the following dates on Friday uh in the morning is when we're going to do it this year because uh of obviously Shabbat so so uh the reading of the Mah is a uh obligation on both men and women and anyone that's uh above the age of 12 for women and 13 for uh for men but this year pin that due to the Corona virus danger uh that whether you believe in it or don't believe in it agree with it disagree with it none of that really matters there's a leniency that women do not need to go to the betet to hear the meila this year and that's why many betet all over the world are not doing the typical uh reading uh multiple readings of the meila uh like they usually do every year because typically a husband and a wife cannot attend Sho at the same time and leave their kids home and so on so typically most shools have multiple readings one after the other with a little bit of a break in between to allow the people to arrive uh but uh this year I've noticed that many shs are not having that they're not having the uh the second reading on the Thursday night uh some are doing multiple readings for Friday uh but uh the Thursday night readings Mo most of the places that I've seen uh or really all the places that I've seen are only doing a single reading because many women are simply not uh going to go um you know to uh to hear the M uh uh you could read it from your Kash at home to your kids to yourself uh you could listen to it online if you'd like it's not fulfilling the Mitzvah but nonetheless if you enjoy the Mitzvah if you like the Miga and so on it's definitely good to do that uh as far as the um the Miga is uh read on Thursday night then you go home eat relax do what you need to do is uh try to study as much to as you can uh make sure there's no art arguing is aous time to receive salvation from but as we all know when a man and a woman have the uh Merit of having schom then the shows up and shows up it heals all wounds but if there's no SCH the leaves so the most important thing is to make sure there's no fighting arguing bickering uh all of that stuff that uh unfortunately people waste a lot of their time doing uh make sure not to do that on puim or at all but nonetheless on puim if you want your prayers to be answered uh then you have the mea reading on uh Friday morning uh many shs are doing it multiple times in the morning for the uh the crowd that uh pray at nets uh or guys that are praying a little later and even um some of them are doing it in the afternoon uh we put on to fing because uh puim is not considered a yum so so we put on to fill in uh as far as work is concerned you are allowed to work but it's not recommended uh to work on this day it's an supicious day to learn T to Dov to uh to enjoy to have a good time and also you have several MIT to fulfill uh one of them is after you read the uh hear the meila on Friday morning you have to make sure to uh to go home and have a meal and the meal uh should have meat and wine should have meat and wine now if you detest meat if you are one of these people that is disgusted by meat if you uh live in a country where kosher meat is not available aside from the fact that you should move uh you obviously don't have the obligation of eating meat but if you do have Kosher meat available to you then you should eat meat that's how thear says a the Jewish people enjoy a uh holiday feast in order to enjoy it and that is in the the morning that is in the morning and also after that you have to do um the Mish mote it's a make sure to give uh a piece of food and a drink uh you and your wife and obviously any adult in your house needs to do the same thing uh you cannot give the Mish on behalf of your wife she has to give her own uh you could deliver it for her but she has to have her own separate M and vice versa the wife can't uh you know have one Mish for her and her husband she has to have her own Mish that she gives she can deliver it for him but he has to have his own mot women give to women men give to men it is inappropriate for women to give Mish man to men and it's inappropriate for men to give Mish to women unless they are uh you know family unless it's a family in it's your brother it's your sister it's your parents it's your children obviously that's not a problem but a co-workers and uh things of that nature it's not uh really uh appropriate to do it if you're going to do that uh then make sure someone else delivers the Mish and not you uh you know it's a uh there's there's a very thin line there and you obviously don't want to cross it um aside from that this is a uh day that uh it's um say that anyone that comes to you asking for a handout uh you know money any poor person that comes to you for a pour out give it to them don't uh ask any questions whatsoever no verification whatsoever this is a day that you want to be as generous as possible so aside from doing the mat uh for anyone who doesn't know we have a campaign on our website and also so uh you'll see probably uh one of our team members posted in the uh thread the we are giving our which is gifts to the poor in we've have succeeded to get to 300 uh families of 300 families of so not only poor but also which is a very very high the highest level of uh of of gift you know to give to the poor is one thing but the highest level of giving to the poor is to give to someone that's learning tah uh so all of those people that have contributed and are going to be contributing uh to the campaign uh you could rest assure that it's going to be done tomorrow if for uh you know for uh whatever reason uh the uh you guys uh decide to start giving a whole lot more than what we can give tomorrow then we could always give it the the following couple of days in is so um but the point being is is that uh be as generous as possible during this time this is obviously a uh very big Merit because one of the main things that say is that just like anyone that comes to you after the besset and says oh can you give me something don't tell them no no I already donated somewhere else don't do that bring cash with you and give it to to people uh you know or better yet you know put some money into envelopes and already have a few envelopes 5 10 20 envelopes ready with a uh 10 20 $30 in there or more depending on your uh on your financial circumstances and as soon as somebody gives it to you give them the envelope say and move on with your life you've just fulfilled the Mitzvah why should you be so generous because this is a spicious day to ask hm for whatever you want because just like we are generous with others anyone that comes to us we give it to them says anyone that comes to me I'm going to give it to them if you want a child ask for a child today if you want AA ask for a child fora today you want a z ask for Z today this is the day Pim is the day so don't waste your time getting drunk and forgetting who you are uh you know make sure that you pray during this day make sure that you learn toah during this day and really this is a day that uh very few people learn T this is why we actually just made an investment today uh to give uh money to uh 150 to learn Tor for a few hours on Friday on Friday uh uh we had a uh a whole team of people 150 perhaps maybe even a little bit more are each going to get a little bit of extra money uh to learn on Friday with Tani really serious learning not just learning uh you know uh basic stuff they're not going to be watching one of my sh they're going to be learning serious stuff on Friday to make sure there's more and more Torah uh being learned anyone that wants to contribute to that is more than welcome you don't you don't have to but but uh when there's an opportunity to get people to learn an opportunity to do and even more so to help people that are that needy we take it no questions asked so uh and again of course we deal with people that we know so it uh it makes life much easier uh as far as not being worried about uh you know giving it to the right people is he really going to learn is he not going to learn all that stuff is not uh is not of question simply because we've already done the research and all that so with that uh being said you have a puim uh continue you have the the meal you have the Mish manot you have obviously if uh you have some children then uh make sure that they you make it a very festive day get them some costumes have a great time if you haven't bought costumes go buy them don't be cheap uh make sure your kids enjoy the holidays if your kids do not enjoy the Jewish holiday days like it's the greatest day that the world has ever uh had then your kids are not going to want to be Jewish when they grow up you have to make sure the kids enjoy the holidays this is not a time to uh think about your Investments or your job or anything else you have to make sure to spend time with your kids have a good time uh with them and uh spend your money spend the money that you work for this is what money is for money is for you to invest it into MIT uh so uh get the kids some house some uh some uh costumes if you want to get yourself a costume by all means it's a there is a uh some that discuss it that there is a custom uh to get costumes it's not an obligation uh but make sure that your costumes are Kosher costumes meaning if your costume is a uh uh dressing like a Nazi or like a prostitute or uh whatever it is this is definitely not the day not the day to do it uh if someone uh you know that uh is dressed like that uh you know is in part of your community and uh they ask you your opinion about what you think about their costume you don't have to lie uh you don't have to lie to them and tell them you uh you like it you could tell them that you don't think it's appropriate you don't have to go to town on them but you have you know you have to tell them that you like it uh again it's a uh but also make sure that they're receptive cuz sometimes people are so drunk they want even remember what you're saying 5 minutes man so don't waste your time but point is is that it's a uh if you're going to wear a costume make sure that you're wearing something fun something funny something that's a uh uh uh most importantly kosher uh and uh that's it that's it have a good time after that get ready for Shabbat uh to make sure that uh you know you uh after you uh have your your meal you give you you take a nap take a nap in the afternoon for the guys uh to take a nap during the afternoon and then wake up and uh then obviously you could uh you fulfill the mitv the Rin that you don't know who m is you don't know who ham is it's in essence just going to sleep take a sip of uh of wine if you want beforehand and then go to sleep it's no you don't have to get drunk to the point of forgetting your name uh that's a mistake that people make uh we have a video that we published a few days ago with uh several discussing this topic about can't learn to during that day and if you can't learn to at the very least try not to make S it's not a day to make sense uh get ready for Shabbat enjoy shab shab Shabbat is normal Shabbat uh it's a uh you know it's a another wonderful uh Shabbat that you have to enjoy and uh that's it that's that's the uh that's the whole thing now when it comes to um I think that one of the um one of the most important lessons to learn you know from is that this is very much a a uh A Tale Of Our Lives uh our modern lives today you know where you see certain things and certain people um in the world today and you when you think about me is like wow there's really nothing new Under the Sun there's really nothing new Under the Sun you know the one of the questions ask is uh how come aem's name is not mentioned a single time in the Torah and respond that hashem's name is mentioned in the Torah in the M but not as aem's name but rather anytime it's referring to the word me anytime the word me King it's really referring to meaning that hem is is hidden is hidden in the but nonetheless the m is a part of the tanak it's part of the Tora so much so that theim say that once the mashia comes the uh uh the the prophets and the writings uh will uh you know will not uh be valid and the will still be read every year will still be valid what does that mean obviously we know that every word in the Tora including the tanak is always valid so what does that actually mean what it means is that if let's say there was a circumstance where at the time of mashia we would have to pick either me or the writings and the prophets writings in the tanak takes precedence takes precedence of course uh you know m is going to be read every single year uh but including after the time of mashia because it'll always be relevant even at that time even at the time of mashia uh you know whereas the prophecies about the days of mashia are not going to be as relevant anymore of course there's always going to be things to learn but the point being is that's what the is trying to refer so why is the Meg so relevant that's that's really the uh the big question this week we had a couple of where uh you know we it as you obviously see everything is from a designing everything at a precise time because what does what does this have to do with me you see that the main reason that the me is even something that we read and why it's relevant today is because of how the whole story starts start S starts is King he rules all over the world he uh as mentioned in his uh commentary on me the says that uh is from Jews Orthodox Jews they keep Shabbat they keep Kash to keep this to keep that and then you see them showing up as a uh or advocating or promoting or starting well what are we doing oh we're going to have an exotic kosher food uh event we're going to eat food from such and such country we're going to eat this we're going to eat that many times these people uh find different types of exotic food that's uh you know that that is kosher or at least they hope it is and uh and they celebrate it now of course sometimes when they do such things uh you know their actions are questionable and you know why are they even taking so much risk like this group of Jews in uh in England not too long ago uh took a uh the um uh locusts that uh they got and they said these are locust that are mentioned in a tah that are Kosher that yemenites eat uh but all the other Traditions don't eat and they ate started frying these Locust these bugs and uh you know it's kosher well if you're yite and uh and you know exactly which one is which and it's in your tradition for the last 3,000 years then no one's going to say thing about it but you're some uh you know asazi or you're stting eating Locust the question is are you really sure because if you're not if if you're making a mistake here you have a very very serious problem on your hand but even more than that why are you doing this why do you need to eat this exotic food why do you need to eat this such unusual food that you're eating and this comes from the fact that people want to have a lot of tanim a lot of fulfilling their desires over and over again and they want they say listen I'm eating kosher so what's the problem if I eat you know exotic kosher the problem is that if your whole life you're going to be chasing exotic kosher and that means that you have not changed a single bit in the last 3,000 years since the whole story of Pim uh that got us into trouble by going to the feast because this exotic kosher food that everybody wanted to go eat at the's house it was all kosher they wanted to eat the exotic food but what ended up happening it went from exotic kosher to just exotic just exotic exotic this exotic that and they made every sin Under the Sun and as a result of them praising the food praising the plages praising this praising that they became part of a public where a brought out the tools and different things that we used in the BET mikdash say that and it's quoted in's seph that each day brought six different tools that we used in the BET mikdash as a celebration that the bet mikdash is not being built now if is partying that the mdash is not being built among the rest of the amalekites AR rest of the Arab terrorists rest of the uh missionary uh Idol worshippers and so on and so forth and he's doing he uh in his is seph that's part of the uh collection of Ren's books that they uh that came from his lectures uh and were translated to English and uh this these these books are simply golden it's mamash gifts from Heaven uh he says so many beautiful things here you have to really because for the sake of time you have to pick and choose what to say but you really could just sit here with this book and just sit here until you finish one after another after another after another uh with no breaks even for breathing uh it's just one k after another and for anyone that knows how to speak Hebrew and understands it I would always recommend to listen to his lectures that you could find online uh there hundreds of his lectures uh online but uh really 99.9% of them are are Hebrew uh there's only a couple of them that are in English but his writing were translated to English and from hearing hundreds of his lectures over the years I could tell you that they did a fantastic job translating his lectures uh to English uh and uh in a way that not only that he spoke but in a way that it's very readable uh so uh the books were very very well written so here Shalom he says that uh the mistake of am is during the time of puim did not begin with puim but rather began with sha sha made a mistake by allowing AAG the leader of the king of the amikit to live a little bit of extra time because he rationalized that if he kills him in public along with others and the uh you know the sheep and so on as a sacrifice then that would be a uh bigger Mitzvah he delayed a Mitzvah in a in that aspect he was in that aspect that he was but he wasn't the same type of Ras all the time he was a rash in the uh in uh in our eyes because he cursed but in reality according to himself he was a sadik why was he a sadik because he was protecting who he thought was the rightful King which was sha he was protecting who he thought that David was stealing the kinghood he didn't believe that David was uh supposed to be a the next king the point being is that you see that uh the story is not is not as it seems where uh all Mercy is good being friends with everyone is good and more importantly we see that sometimes you have to be merciful furthermore we see that this uh allowing this amalik to uh to live uh has caused us the trouble because that uh leaving AAG alive allowed ham to come from him and Haman is the one that almost annihilated all of is so after Aman was killed and his 10 Sons were killed how come continues to live because the whole concept of ham and Amal as we discussed yesterday is not just a people that's a specific Nation but also a philosophy and this philosophy gets more and more it's the it's the powers e of evil and it gets more and more power as a result of our actions one of the main things that people do to give am a lot of power is by discouraging people from talking about and learning about about fear of Heaven anytime you see somebody discouraging people or even uh making fun of fear of Heaven fear of hem that gives power to Amal why because Amal hated Hashem and had no fear of him and that's in essence theah is a to destroy Amal once and for all to destroy all of the people that talk against another thing that we learn is that that gives Amal power is that when Jews cheat when Jews cheat the Goen in business after we uh learn some rules about uh honest business in the Torah the very next verse talks about the mitvah of destroying amalik so Rashi over there says from here we learn that uh that amalik gets more power as a result of our sins of by cheating and overcharging the uh the non-jews so all of these people that are in the cash advance business that are overcharging go and claim that it's honest business because they came to you and they signed the paperwork all of those people that are selling uh used Goods used Goods as new all of those people that are cheating their customers in commissions all of those people that are doing all types of businesses and cheating the public and of course the public is mainly go you should be proud of yourself you are the supporter and the Empower of amalik you are the empower of Hitler you are the empowerer of Nazi Germany you will cause people to die so you should prepar to yourself that as you build your bank accounts you're also going to build body accounts you're going to kill a lot of people as a result of your act and we pray for you to die every single day because you are a destruction to our nation even if you are a rabbi why that's what T says that's says people that give power to Amal are dangerous people were obligated to now the third thing is that gives power to again in chapter 3 in the section about pu called amal's attack he says the someone sent me a email today saying that I uh this politician was anti-semitic okay great 40 seconds later somebody else sent an email saying look they had a show on television about some doctors and nurses and some patient that you know was a supposedly portraying a religious Jew and they were anti-semitic and then 30 seconds later somebody else sent something else look over here there more anti-Semitism and look over here they're making fun of the Jews in the in the Congress and over here they're making fun of the Jews of in Hollywood and over here they're making fun of Jews in the stores and the communities and so on and so forth what are we going to do about it you know what the answer is chuva that's what you do about it why the only reason why they're allowed to be anti-semitic is because we have not done chuva the we are lack in our mitv unfortunately most Jews don't even keep Shabbat so it's not even lack they don't even keep the mitv this all gives more and more strength to am the whole issue of anti-Semitism is not going to be solved as a result of people's a uh uh uh protests and email campaigns and art articles like you actually think that the anti-semitic people read your stupid articles you say oh look boohoo they are anti-semitic to Jewish people on on the show oh boohoo in the Congress they hate Jews you think they care about your stupid article the only time they care is if their boss is Jewish and he's going to fire them other than that no one cares they're not going to do you the anti-i anti-Semitism are not going to stop because of your AR articles and and your blogs and your campaigns only a is the one that can stop it and the only way it can stop it is if we're no longer lazy with our and laxidasical with our observance of simple so now the interesting thing is is that ham for a long time once he got the power he was doing what's called a lottery and in Persian it's called p p and from there the name pin world so even non-jews need to pray to hem for salvation uh and also forgiveness and to do chuva and so on Yip on the other hand which is a day of atonement is only for the Jews uh other Jewish not just about the quantity but rather the uh the actual results of the Mitzvah the results of the Mitzvah and that's also one of the things that each and every single one of us needs to pray for you need to actually pray for to uh to give you a opportunity to do me to Dov why because sometimes there are certain people that they donate a lot of money a lot of money and they don't really get any uh any reward for it they don't get any results out of it you see a guy donates a million dollars and what do the million dollars goes to it goes to a group of scammers that are really not even building a new organization they're not even doing what they're saying to people they're doing in fact they're doing the quite the opposite they're using the money uh against the toah they're giving the money to missionaries they're giving the money to uh casinos they're doing all types of things that are against the Torah so why would such a thing happen to a person why would such thing happen to a person so this two is in thear this two is in thear where it talks about a uh uh Jeremiah Jeremiah Was aad KES kashim wases K and uh he cursed he cursed the he cursed the because he said look these they uh minimim they have a lot of people that are off the they have a lot of a lot of problems and you see this a lot of times with these people that uh these so-called uh you know Jews that are uh rich but not religious and they donate money to uh Ben bre and to uh all of ncsy and uh and all these places you see what do these organizations do a lot of times these organizations do things that are considered Val sins that it's better to die than to S than to make that sin these organizations they have uh a uh Gatherings of Jewish boys and girls uh and they say in the name of Judaism we're going to make sure that they go to is and they go do this and they go do that what do they go do they go make all types of sins of the Tor boys girlso and you see millions and millions of dollars are donated to those organizations so you say how come so what the guys that are donating millions of dollars to these organizations what they're Wicked for sure they're Wicked how do I know cuz I know who they are I know who they are one of the main Founders one of the main Founders and the uh donors to these organizations is the guy uh uh that just died the guy that just died that owns casinos in uh or owned casinos uh in in Las Vegas the other guy is a uh former hedge fund manager uh he has a book called no bull uh Michael steinhardt is his name Michael steinhardt this guy's an atheist he doesn't even believe in in God and he is one of the biggest donors for those organizations Jewish organizations he's an atheist the other guys and they donate millions of dollars billions of dollars they donated over the years to all types of organizations it's all buiss why because Jeremiah says if you're Wicked you will donate at night where not only your donation will not get to marit but it'll actually cause you harm because it'll taunt the other side and it'll bring you trouble and you see that's what ends up happening now if somebody that is notab donates to you uh during the week of money that he made during the week not money that he made on Shabbat do you reject it some would reject it but many said not to reject it why because maybe now he actually is doing chuv so give him other people's way is to uh cook everything before the holiday and just simply heat it up on a hot plate during the holiday uh just like we do on Shabbat instead of heating it up on a hot plate uh uh uh on for one day on Shabbat and we he it up for two days you know for two days or whatever the time May is so you cook everything ahead of time you leave it in the fridge when you want to eat it you know an hour two hours 3 hours before you want to eat it depending on the food you put it on a hot plate that's already on from the uh before the holiday stays on the whole time and uh you just put it on top of it and it heats up takes a little time and uh you got yourself a uh hot meal Rashi says on Esther 11 that when it says it means he was a rash in the beginning and a rash at the end how can books and uh about Judaism about T and so on and so forth now Noahs need need to learn both the uh tanak and mus those are the two primary issues that the noahides need to learn Jews need to learn those two plus other things like the laws which is and so on so as far as the uh the common denominators both Jews and non-jews need to learn M and tanak now when I say tanak that means the uh the five books of Moses the writings and the uh uh um the prophets which is a total of 24 books with commentary by Rashi now you don't need to buy all of them at one day you can buy one book at a time with commentary by Rashi without commentary by Rashi don't buy it why it won't help you you won't understand a single verse the way you're supposed to understand it by yourself so yes buying Rashi commentary on any book is very very good highly recommended I personally recommend for people to start withit uh the uh uh the uh the first book of the Torah uh you know children usually when they go to theel little kids they actually start learning Leviticus but that's because it's an old tradition where they start learning about the issues of Kus and therefore they'll become kushim but in general for for for adults that are learning from the beginning they should learn from bit with commentary by Rashi and built from there as far as M yes M books I would recommend a book uh I really recommend the whole series by that we have on our website I mean some of the issues are pertaining only to Jews some of the issues are pertaining both the Jews and non-jews because he talks about M 99% of the time uh so the m is very good again all is by Blazer and his RAB path of the just or it's also called is also another one uh the way of God which is by theal um you have um qu quite a few
