The Lord is my light. Whom shall I fear? By the Lord I shall be saved. The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom should I be afraid? When evil men approach against me in order to devour my flesh, my tormentors and my foes, they stumble and fall to death. Even if an army camped against me, my heart would not be afraid. Even if a war rose up against me, my trust would not be swayed. Only one thing I ask of the Lord, which I shall seek always, that I should dwell in the house of the Lord for the length of my days. To behold, the pleasantness of the Lord and visit his sanctuary. For on the day of evil inside his shelter, he will hide me, concealing me in his hidden tent. He'll lift me off the ground. On a rock, he'll raise my head above my enemies all around. I'll bring offerings and chant and sing to the Lord in his dwelling place. Hear my voice when I call, oh Lord, and answer me with grace. My heart is speaks on your behalf from deep inside my core. You tell me, seek my presence, so I seek your presence, Lord. Don't hide your face. Don't cast aside your servant in frustration. You're my helper. Don't abandon or forsake me. God of my salvation. Even though it's true that I have been forsaken by my father and my mother, still the Lord will take me in. Oh Lord, teach me your ways and lead me with integrity on the path. Please protect me from my watchful enemies. Don't give me over to my tormentors who seek my death. For those false witnesses rise up against me with violence on their breath. Who knows what would have happened if I lost faith that I might see the goodness of the Lord in this land of life. Place hope in the Lord. Strengthen yourself down to the core. Let your heart be courageous and place hope in the Lord.
