Hello.
Good morning everybody. Speak a little
louder. Good morning everybody and
welcome.
Thank you so much for gracing us. Want
to especially welcome a whole group

all the way from Canada. Welcome. Thank
you for gracing us. I also want to
welcome my esteemed mother-in-law
who's here at the class. Thank you for
coming.
So, I will try to behave a little more
today, but not too much. Not too much.
Yes. Yes.
Okay, today's class is dedicated by
Aviva Toby Hen in memory of her beloved
son beloved son David Ben Ahuda
David
also known as Divi who passed away at
the age of 18 on the 11th of three years
ago.
He was 18 years old, the youngest of
three. He just graduated from very well
known Sar High School. Cherished son,
brother, uncle, loved by so many of his
friends, his sense of humor, his wisdom,
his maturity and his compassion. Many of
them attributed
getting so close to Yiddish because of
David's example
very active at the Riverdale Jewish
Center team minion and a true example
for so many an aspiring nuclear
engineer. He was on his way to go to the
Holy Land to Israel to learn Tyra for a
year before heading to the University of
Florida. And
his family misses him more than we can
say in words are still heartbroken by
his untimely death at a scuba diving
accident.
So yesterday was his third yard site and
we dedicate this class to his memory and
his honor and his precious and beloved
soul. And may his soul to be a source of
tremendous love and light.
very
dedicated class and the regular visit
and regular attendees of our classes
who lost her father uh last uh Friday
and she went to Israel to s over there
with her family came to visit her.
Actually was in Pomona and right before
Shabas he passed away. funeral was here

Israel and uh her father was the famous
Ai Pmenta
two Pmenta brothers the great musicians
brought so much music and love and
laughter and love to so many people over
decades
Pamea was a personal friend extremely
unusual man radiating literally infinite
love
the middle of his shiva.
May his soul be an eternal source of
love and inspiration and blessing for
the entire family and all of us. And we
all merit very soon.
Amen.
Just to announce next week I'm away. I'm
going to Georgia, South Russia and then
to Israel. So next Tuesday there will
not be a class. The Tuesday afterwards
we will resume. Okay? So please if you
come or your friends or relatives just
tell them next Tuesday we are off for
one week. That's one week. The next
Tuesday
we will be back on with God's grace.
We're going to address
a very uh profound,
vital, important
and also somewhat of an innovative or
dearing concept or reality.
And the truth is whenever one addresses
this topic,
it must be done with a lot of
sensitivity and caution.
But uh you know something in my bones
told me that it's it's it's it's the
right thing to give a class on this
topic and on this experience
with with the proper caution because as
you'll see it's a subject that easily
lends itself to distortion can be can be
manipulated can be exploited could be
misunderstood could be misconstrued has
been used in the wrong ways. But as the
Mishna says when they asked Rabi Aka,
why did God create the sun? If there are
those who worship the sun. So Rabi Aka
said, you want God to destroy the world.
One Hashem should destroy the world
because there are fools who don't get
it. The sun is one of the greatest
blessings. Not just one of the greatest
blessings. We bless every day. race.
We're thankful because the gods, the sun
that Hashem created gives us the ability
to literally live and survive every
minute on our planet. So he says he's
not going to destroy the sun just
because people turn the sun into an
independent God. So this is a very
powerful paradigm sets up about topics
that can be misconstrued and
misunderstood, you still don't destroy
the world.
It really is focused on one's
It seems like an innocent verse but it
contain like every paid it contains many
many layers of depth. Let's remember the
context.
Bollock is a story a very unusual story
because it's the only portion for which
there is no evidence of any Jew or even
human being among the Jewish people
observing it. What I mean by that is
that every other portion in Torah could
be experienced by somebody who could
share the story. For example, Adam and
Kava could talk personally to their
children about eating from the tree,
about the snake, right? Cayenne can talk
personally about what he did when he was
in a bad mood to his brother. No can
talk about the flood. He can talk about
the TA that he built, right? His
children could talk about him getting
drunk. He couldn't drunk, but his
children can talk about it. His children
could talk about what happened and so on
and so forth. Ara could tell what
happened to him and Sor when they went
on their journey. Sor can share this
with Yitzka can share with Jacob what
happened to him and so on and so forth.
The exile of Egypt was experienced by
all of the Jews who were in Egypt who
can share it with their children. The
same is true. The exodus of Egypt, the
splitting of the sea, the 10 plagues,
the
and everything that happens. The story
of the spies, the story of it's all
recorded by Rabenu. But these are all
stories that one, two, 20 or most of
them millions of Jews experience. The
one exception is paras. It's a story
that happens outside of the Jewish camp.
It happens between two Gentiles who
never make their way into the Jewish
community. That's the only portion like
that. There's no other portion of the
whole. Basically what happens is in
other words if you were a Jew you
wouldn't have known the story. Balak who
was the king of Moyav which is on the
Trans Jordan on the eastern side of the
land of Israel near today's Jordan that
area. Moyav is frightened of the Jews.
They're going to be conquered or
defeated. So Balak hires the famous
famous spiritual giant of the time among
the Gentiles who's considered a prophet
and a diver and an extraordinary sage
and psychic and mystic whose name is
Baham and he wants him to curse the
Jewish people and that's the story of
Bal
and instead of cursing the people he
ends up blessing them and what blessings
they are the most eloquent ent most
beautiful splendid things ever said
about Jews comes from Bum's mouth.
You'll never hear Jews speaking like
this about Jews ever. When Jews speak
about Jews, it's like the rest of the
Tyra. They're rebelling. They're
complaining. They're crutching. There's
no food. There's no sushi. There's no
fish. There's no meat. There's no
cucumbers. There's no leak. There's no
garlic. There's no onions. Suddenly,
they love garlic and onions. As long as
you can crutch. There's no onions. You
went to the bitzvah, there were no
onions. Unbelievable.
We remember Egypt and complaining the
whole is one long rebellion. This is not
good. That's not good. Suddenly you get
the go to speak about the Jews. Oh my
god. Wow. Bum. He delivers a
presentation for a people seemingly so
uh fetchy and always complaining. Bum
has really nice things to say about us.
Right? Like it's an old anecdote about a
Jew who came to shul every day for Mina
and he would read the Cairo Gazette.
Cairo Gazette. So somebody asked him,
"You have to bring this trash into a
holy place, into a synagogue." He said,
"What do you want me to read?" He said,
"Read read Jewish newspapers." He said,
"I don't like to read Jewish newspapers.
They give me headaches. They give me
heart attacks. They're always filled
with Torus and Mozarus and Mozarus. They
found a new cell of terrorists, a new
group of anti-semmites, another attack,
another planned attack, another I hate
it." I open up the Cairo Gazette
headline. Jewish people own all the
banks in the world.
Jewish people are now about to conquer
all the governments in the world. Jewish
people are wealthiest, most successful,
most proper. I turn to my wife, I say,
Msiah came. You want the good news, go
to the anti-semites. You want the bad
news, go to the Jews. They always have
the good news.
So, Bam has some really, really nice
things to say about the Jews. His most
famous that we begin davening every day
How lovely are your tents, Jacob, your
dwelling places, Israel, we begin our
ding every day with this bus coming from
Bum.
If you read earlier, but doesn't look
like our tents were so godly and so
beautiful. But bum, you know, the grass
from the when you're when when you're
standing in the grass, what do they say?
It's not so green always. But Bum looks
at the Jews and I guess he compares them
with a lot of others and like wow
was not long ago there was a woman who
told reached out to me she wants to take
her children her child out of the Jewish
school and put him in a public school
and she shared what happened in the
school and all different things that
really bothered her. She asked me my
opinion. So I said, "Listen,
I'm going to be the last one to tell you
that uh our schools are perfect, but one
interesting thing you may want to note,
and that is I don't know of any Jewish
school, I don't know, that has a metal
detector
when the children come in every day to
check if they're carrying a gun or a
knife." And you can go to all the
schools from the Satma schools to the
modern Orthodox schools to even
conservative schools. You don't have
this. I don't know of one public school
today that does not have it and is not
afraid that some kid maybe even 11 years
old will start killing his classmates.
There's something very very real about
that. Doesn't mean schools are perfect
and shouldn't be worked on and shouldn't
be enhanced. So just remember that. So,
Bum says some of the most beautiful
things about the Jewish people in four
different prophecies, four different
sections, each one dedicated to a
different period of history and chapter
of the Jew and chapter of Jewish
history. And each verse is not just
poetically, poetically eloquent,
splendid, and beautiful, but also
extremely profound, exquisite, and the
wisdom there deeply profound and
relevant. Which is why every verse of
Bum is considered a prophecy, a divine
prophecy and expounded on. At the end,
Bum was killed in a war against the
Jewish people. The war of Mid Balak was
also gone. So, how did the Jews know
this story? Nobody was there. How do we
know that Bullock hired Bum and what Bum
said? Nobody saw this. This didn't
happen in the desert. This happened in
Moyov. It happened on a mountaintop
where Bum and Bullock were alone and Bum
was prophesized. It's the only portion
of Torah we have like that. The answer
of course is there was one who watched
it all. We call him Hashem and he
dictated the Torah to Mosher Rabenu and
that's how Mosher Rabenu knew the story
because Jews trusted Mosher Rabenu of
course because of their own experience
by
so when Mosher Rabenu wrote this story
obviously every word is trusted and
authentic. But this is it's interesting.
This is the one portion of Tyra that
relies exclusively on Mosher Rabenu's
testimony from what he heard from the
creator and wrote it down in the Tyra
which was dictated by Hashem to word for
there's one line of Bum that we want to
study today. It's in Bid the book of
numbers
chapter 24 verse 23. You could see in
your source sheet the first verse. We
have it in the Hebrew and then the
English says
There are no divers among Jacob and no
stick divers in Israel. Meaning there's
no uh magicians and sorcerers, people
involved in kish and sorcery. They're
not into these things.
At this time it will be said to the
Jewish people to Yakov and Israel male
what has God done? What has God wrought?
What is he talking about? What is bum
saying? Rashi is the most basic
commentator. So Rashi who's living in
the 11th century in France.
Rashi explains he
the second source
says there will yet be a time like now
when their love will be manifested for
everybody.
They will sit before Hashem and learn
from his mouth
and their domain will be deeper closer
than the angels
and the angels will ask the Jewish
people
Paul Kale what is God up to when the
angels will want to have access to truth
they will ask the Jews Paul what is God
doing what is what is the truth what's
going on
this is what the verse says in 30
Your eyes will behold will see your
teacher.
So Bam is talking about the future of
the Jewish people. He says they're not
into magic and sorcery, but ace means
time.
There will be a time like this time when
they will ask the Jews, what is Hashem
up to? That's how much intimate
awareness they will have of the divine
even more than the angels. That's what
Rash says. What's the next verse of Bum?
This has become very very famous in the
last few weeks.
Behold, this is a people like RI that
rises
like a lioness.
Stands up and exalts itself like a lion.
Does not lie down until it consumes its
prey. brings the blood of its slain
enemies. And indeed, when Israel needed
to name give a name to their attack on
Iran to destroy with the help of the
United States, the nuclear facilities of
the Hammons of today, who attempted and
wanted to exterminate 7 million Jews,
heaven forbid, not in one day like
Hammon, but in one second through atomic
energy. They needed to give a name to
this war which began on June 13th 2025
Friday morning 3:00 a.m. the 17th of 7
5785. What's the name that they gave it?
Amili
which in English means a rising a nation
that rises like a line. The rising line
which is a nation like a rising line.
The rising line.
And this should not be underestimated at
all because you know as I told somebody
just imagine of this at least that's how
I see it with my limited knowledge. I
don't of course know all the secrets but
just imagine if
in 1938
somebody would have killed Hitler.
What would have been the difference to
the world?
What would have been the difference to
the world? Now, of course, in 1945, what
do they say? Hindsight is always 2020.
Nobody could have assassinated him. In
1930, a lot of people tried to
assassinate. No assassination was
successful. But afterwards, it's easy to
be a Jews couldn't run. You couldn't do
this. You couldn't do this. You couldn't
do this. But it's not a to be a after
the event, right? It's no uh it's no big
deal to be wise after the event.
I say this because it's important to
understand the miracle of what happened
here and how grateful we ought to be
despite the 24 souls that were that were
killed from the ballistic missiles of
Iran during the 12-day war double of the
six- day war 12 days.
But what was eliminated
and it was it was miraculous. Even the
prime minister and the president of
America both said that it was God who
had to do the big work even though it
was facilitated through the Americans
and the Israeli air force. God bless
them. One must be truly truly grateful
because this was a Hitler taken out in
1938.
One thing we learned from Jewish history
is when your enemies say we want to kill
you, believe them. They're not looking
for herring and cheesecake and a Jewish
smile. Believe them. Believe them. And
it's important to understand this
because sometimes, you know, life goes
on and there's pressure and there's
difficulties and there's challenges and
it's easy to have what's called which
means not be conscious and aware of what
just happened these very days, these
very weeks. A tremendous tremendous
miracle in I was listening to an
interview by uh the internal cabinet.
It's called the small cabinet that
decides top decisions in Israeli
security arras.
What is it called?
Channel 14. Huh.
Arut Arbas. Arutbas. And Arya Deri said
that uh
he said that the the representatives of
the army came into the prime minister
and to the cabinet that had to make the
decisions and explained what the
diagnosis is, meaning what the
probabilities are when they go to war
against Iran, what the outcome will be,
how they will respond, how many missiles
they're going to send, what the
casualties could be in Israel. And they
did at different levels. The most
pessimistic outcome and the most
optimistic outcome. If everything is
extremely successful and precise and
every target is hit, what's the most
optimistic outcome? And it's still not
going to be perfect according to natural
circumstance. And are you there? He
said, "We saw this all, but we realize
we have no choice. This is what our what
we need to do for our people. It's a
it's horrible, but this is what we have
to do for our people. We have to go to
war." And he said even the most
optimistic outcome pald in comparison to
what happened. It was above and beyond
what anybody could imagine. And he said
when the pilots went out in the middle
of the night, you know, Iran is more
than two hours. You're talking about,00
You're talking about 1,700 kilometers I
believe. You're not talking about next
door. And the Iranians found out. He
said somebody who wasn't supposed to
from said our friends around Israel
tweeted to the Iranians that Israel is
on the way and we saw this all it's the
middle of the night and
oh if this starts off on the left leg
already crippled them finding out a
little too early you don't have that
power of the preemptive strike the det
you know the ability of surprise you're
not going to have that and indeed they
were warned too
So this was a tragedy in the making
because the whole plan was based on
surprise and paralyze much of their
mechanism before they could respond with
the aggression that they were capable of
because you're dealing with one of the
most you're dealing not with a bunch of
kids. You're dealing with mightiest
armies in the Middle East and the
greatest bullies and the greatest
sponsors of terror and weren't even
quiet about the fact that all they want
to is annihilate Israel for good.
So what happened was the top security
officials and people in charge were
cautioned and they left their homes in
order to plan. And what happened was
they all came to one place.
Scientists, top scientists, type top
generals and commanders and can all be
eliminated through one bomb. This is
literally so may aat like the mush of
the lion. I just realized you know
remember Samson's mushel of the lion.
May
from the lie and came the honey from the
very tweet that threatened to undermine
Rahman the success of it came a
tremendous tremendous benefit
and that's why even Trump at the end of
his speech said we love you God unheard
of a president speaking like that and
Netanyahu who grew up in a home I would
say a more atheistic home strong Jewish
identity Japatinsky this but relatively
speaking more of an atheistic philosophy
and he got up and said you know the
Knesset has many seot many segments but
the greatest is
the right and and you could see he went
to the before my brother was there he
went to the kisel afterwards put us on a
talis
it's not not simple and Israel has not
had it easy I don't have to tell you the
last two years October 7th was the worst
event that happened to the Jewish people
in one since the Holocaust.
But there was a great miracle there too.
Sinoir was supposed to wait.
Nobody knew that there was a plan. Derry
said nobody realized there was a plan of
Iran to annihilate the entire Jewish
state and murder not 1,200 Jews and
kidnap not 250 Jews but hundreds of
thousands or millions. Iran,
coming, Kamas coming from Yemen from
seven fronts attack Israel
simultaneously. and its defense
systems with thousands of missiles.
Checkmate.
Sinoir did not have patience.
So he went on his own. I don't have to
tell you about the atrocities of that
day, but he wasn't joined by the others.
So Kamas could be taken on. And then a
few months later, Kisbala could be taken
on. And then a few months later, Syria
was miraculously dismantled. And now
Iran could be taken off. And with
hundreds and thousands of ballistic
missiles that Iran sent, which each one
if it hits its target can kill a 100,000
people, relatively speaking, the
miracles were stupious.
So Bum says
when the lion rises, the lion could
sometimes be asleep. When the lion
rises, it's incredibly it's incredibly
powerful.
And in the previous class, we spoke
about the vilagun's idea of the 28
seasons. each one having its 214 years
in change and how this year is that
transition from a time of war to a time
of peace.
So we spoke about the nation rising like
a lion. But we're going now back to that
first verse where he speaks about
there's no sorcerers.
But
like now there will be a time that Jews
will be privy to such information. The
angels will tell them what is God up to?
What is Bum talking about?
It looks like he's saying there's going
to be a time like now that the Jewish
people will again be prophets to the
point that the angels will want to know
information from them. Is this anything
we can hold on to? Is this relevant? So
the Rambam tells us an incredible
tradition. Now the fact that the Rambam
says you're talking about the Rambam is
considered the greatest authority in
Jewish history or one of the topic
authorities. The Rambam lives in the 30
the 12th and 13th century. The Rambam
passed away in the year 1205. You see
that's significant.
Rambam lived for 69 years almost 70
years. So he was born in 1135 and he
passed away 1204 1205. He was born of
Pes and he passed away 1204 or 1205.
The Rambam has a letter. It's called
TMA. a letter that was written to
Yemenite Jews.
Jewish community in Yemen was always
very big and very powerful and very very
ancient till today. The Yemenite Jews,
if you want to have a taste of what
Judaism looked like a few thousand years
ago, here are how the Yemenes davin.
Even their matzas, you know what their
matzas are like? Not like our horrible
matzas that everybody complains about
for eight days. Their matzas are
actually lafas. Yeah. Their matzas are
lafas wraps mish lafas. You can imagine
what the carbon pes looked like. Not
like our fahak.
The carbon pes was actually a lafa with
lamb chops with beet with lamb literally
and spicy sauce called mr gishmaka
lettuce. This was called a barbecue.
Real food. Today we're left with the
matzah and the mur. Good luck. Where's
the beef? That's what we all ask.
Where's the beef? Where's the beef?
Okay.
Next year hopefully we'll have the
carbon. We'll have the beef.
So now, how did I get it? Oh, the
Yemenite Jews.
The Yemenite Jews still have laf from
matzah. Yeah, check it out. And they
they also pronounce letters of the
alphabets that we don't know. You know
that they have letters of the alphabet
that we don't have. Even the certainly
the we won't even go there at the
moment. But the Yemenites have letters
of the Hebrew alphabet pronunciations
when they read the we don't even have
they have a very living tradition
because of an uninterrupted stay in one
place for so many years.
The Rambam had a tremendous influence on
Yemen Nigeria. He wasn't from Yemen. The
Rambam was born in Spain. Spain. He
escaped the span. He escaped Spain when
he was a child from the Almahads. The
Almad was a group of Islamists who said
either you convert to Islam or we chop
off your heads. And the Lam ran away
with his family. And they ran. They ran.
They came to Morocco. He moved to Fez
Morocco. And then the Almahhats came to
Morocco. So they escaped to the land of
Israel and then they had to leave the
land of Israel and they came to Egypt.
And that's where he lived for the rest
of his life. And he ultimately became
world famous becoming the sultan the
personal physician of the Sultan and
Saladin and his family. And after his
passing they took his body to where he's
buried today.
The Rambam had such an influence on Ye
that during his lifetime in Kadesh. They
put in his name in the text of they
would say
[Music]
by the life of Rabu
which is Rambam Rambam.
There's a letter that he wrote to Yemen
Nigeri because of a crisis that occurred
there.
And in this letter, he reveals a
tradition that he heard from his father
my who heard it from his father who
heard it from his father all the way
back to the first Jews who came to Spain
when they were exiled from Jerusalem.
The scholus of Spar is already mentioned
in the Na'vi in Nadia. They came to
Spain from Jerusalem. So he said we have
a tradition from that time. So it's an
uninterrupted tradition and the Rambam
gives it to us and he interprets the
meaning of these words of bilah and it's
such a fascinating interpretation but I
want to share it with you. Take a look
I'll read it in Hebrew. He wrote it in
Arabic. It was translated in Hebrew. I
probably in English but I just saw the
Hebrew one.
[Music]
I have an incredible tradition. I
receive it from my father, from his
father, he serve it from my grandfather
all the way down till the beginning of
our exile from Jerusalem.
When Balum said,
there's a secret here.
There's a secret here. He's not just
saying nice words, beautiful words.
There'll be an amazing time. He's
actually talking about something and
being very specific.
You have to make a calculation how much
time goes from creation until the time
that Bum is talking
and that's when prophecy will return to
the Jewish people.
So then the people will come and say to
them what is God up to your prophets.
This happened 40 years after they left
Egypt. Remember Aaron passed away,
Miriam passed away. They're at the cusp
of going into the land. It's 40 years.
So if you make a calculation, you're
going to get to
24, 488 years.
I'm going to explain
what Bum is saying is prophecy will
return to the Jewish people in the year
4,976
from creation.
No question. This is the intro to
Messiah
Yelim.
your sons and daughters will prophesize.
Let me explain what the Rambam is
saying. And if you failed in math in
school, I know right now you're like,
"Oh no, where is this class going?
Numbers was never my cup of tea. It's
never hopefully going to be my cup of
tea. When I even look at a bill, I get a
migraine just to calculate."
That's a different reason. Okay.
But don't worry, you'll all get it. It's
all good. Don't ADHD on me, please.
Take a look at Bum's words. Bum says,
"What does the word mean?"
Somebody says in Hebrew, what does that
mean? Like now 8 means time. Ace ace
lassos. We spoke about a time for
healing, a time for a time for death, a
time for birth, a time for war, a time
for peace. Remember the 28 seasons in
Cohel chapter 3, Ecclesiast means time.
Alf
means like this time, like now.
So bum is saying like this time they're
going to ask the Jews what God is up to.
What does it mean like this time? What
does it mean like this time? 1:00 in the
afternoon, 2 o'clock in what does it
mean like this time?
And if it doesn't mean anything, why are
you writing it? Why is it a prophecy?
And why does the Torah record it?
Obviously, there's something for us to
know. So the Rambam says he's very, very
precise. He means like this time. I'm
giving you a time. Like this time.
What's this time? This time is 40 years
after the Jewish people left Egypt.
Which year did the Jewish people leave
Egypt from creation? Anybody remembers?
A little earlier.
Very good. So the Jewish people left
Egypt 2,448
years after creation. 2448.
Abramu was born 1948.
Don't confuse it with Israel. Arainu was
born 1948 from creation.
Right? Approximately 600 years later,
500 years later, the Jewish people leave
Egypt in the year 2,448.
How long are they in the desert? 40
years. This is the 40th year. So which
year is this? 2488.
If they leave Egypt 24 48 add 40 years
2,400
88 that's when this is happening. So the
Rambam says bum says like this time the
Jewish people are going to be prophets.
What's like this time? Like this time
means count another 2488
years. Like this time very accurate just
like I'm speaking in the year 2488 since
creation. Go ahead. Another 2,488
years. That's what the Rambam's
tradition is. How much is 2488 twice? Uh
4976.
You could look it up on your calculator.
2488.
So double 2,000 is of course 4,000.
Double 400 is 800. And how much is 88? 2
* 88?
2 * 88 is 176. So 2488
twi times 2 is 4,976.
[Music]
That's why at the end of this paragraph
I wrote 4,976
tough tough
in the secular calendar it's 1216.
One second. Let me let's see.
1216.
So it's tough tough and 4,976.
Now let's think about this. 4,976
is just 24 years before the year 5,000.
4976,
right? You go 86, 96, and another four
years, and you at the year 5,000. So
this is literally 24 years before the
end of the fifth millennium from
creation. The year 4,000 begins the
fifth millennium, the fifth, thousand.
The year 5,000, 24 years later begins
the sixth millennium. We are still in
the sixth millennium. We spoke about
what the Ramban teaches us and in many
that the six days of creation
correspond to the 6,000 years of
history. Every 24 hours of creation
corresponds to 1,000 years. And
therefore, 500 years corresponds to 12
hours. So the Sunday of creation, the
first day, is the first millennium. The
Monday of creation is the second
millennium. Of course, the year 4,000
begins the fifth millennium, which is
Thursday. And 5,000 begins which day?
Friday. Era of Shabas. Friday. And on
Shabas, we know especially of Shabas in
the afternoon. We spoke about this a few
weeks ago. We have the mitzvah of
toyameha. Now if you go to a Hungarian
shabatone, you will see that there's
more food by toyameha than there is a
whole shabas,
right? No. Shabas, they also have
endless food. You're talking about
Hungarian Jews. They like to feed.
There's a mitzvah of Shabas to be toy to
taste the food of Shabas. Sometimes
people eat it all up. But in this case,
we don't have to worry about that. So
Friday is the beginning of the beginning
of the preparations for Shabas. And then
of course the seventh millennium which
happens in 240 years is the seventh
millennium that's
known as Shabas.
Soam says 24 years before the beginning
of the sixth millennium in the year
4,976.
Bam is talking 2,488
years before that and saying
like a time like this when you allow
this time to pass what's happening now
what's happening now in this period in
the desert we have Mosha and Aaron and
Miriam and so forth it's all going to
come back to the
is what the Rambam heard from his father
all the way back and it's fascinating
that this is 1216 and indeed 24 years
later 1216 1226 1236 1240 begins in the
Hebrew in the secular calendar 1240 our
new millenniums always begin in the year
40 right always in the year 40 right
every every century begins in the
secular calendar it's always 40 like
tough shin was 1940 and that's when we
began a new century that was the middle
of the second world war so you always
have 1240 begins the sixth millennium
and the ram continues this they took out
from some of the prince But the Rambam
continues in the letter and saying and
indeed now this is also right after the
Rambam's Ramb is not just writing this
incidentally as I told you the Rambam
passed away around the year 1205
so this time is literally the Rambam
passed away 11 years before this
experience this time 1160 and the Rambam
says that we're already seeing this why
and the Rambam talks about somebody that
they knew who was a prophet
He was a prophet and we saw that
everything he said was authentic and
accurate and genuine. And the Rambam
says it's no question that this was an
authentic person. He also describes
there another person who's a lunatic who
claims he's a prophet. But the Rambam
says the person I'm telling you about is
truly truly authentic and real. And this
is what this is part of what Bum meant
here. The Rambam is really throwing a
it looks like okay interesting. But
really what Rambam is doing here is he's
introducing us to a very very
powerful dimension of Judaism that
because of the evolution of Jewish
history has gone somewhat undercover.
The Rambam says the egg is going to
begin to crack in the year 1216. The egg
is going to begin to crack. A new
awareness is going to emerge in the
world. And this deserves very very
profound attention because it's usually
not spoken about because what do we know
about prophecy?
So if you take a look in the next
source,
this is the prophet Joel chapter 3 and
refers to this verse at the end of the
letter that we just quoted, the line
that we just quoted, the earlier line.
After that, the time of I will pour out
my spirit on all flesh. Your sons and
daughters shall prophesize. Your elders
shall dream dreams and your youths shall
see visions. Now, he didn't mean they're
going to sit in class and daydream all
day. For that, you don't need
for people to sit in and he's talking
about dreams and visions
that are that are in tuned to the
highest frequencies of existence, your
sons and your daughters. In other words,
prophecy will be a common thing. So
that's why the Rambam says what what Bum
is saying is in introducing the world of
Mashia. Now what does this mean? Let's
go to the next
in his speaks about the foundations of
Torah chapter 7 and he writes and I
quote
one of the foundations of the Jewish
religion is to know
God communicates to people. God
prophesizes through. He doesn't just say
it happens. It's
it's one of the foundations of Judaism
that Hashem communicates his truth to
people to human beings, mortal people of
flesh and blood. However,
if I'm sitting on my couch eating potato
chips with a chocolate danish and a
little bopka on the side on my phone
watching some entertainment, some
debate, I don't know, between course
Mirgan and some other of
God, can you prophesize?
Ra says, "No, you need to have a clear
antenna. You need to be transparent.
I can't have blockages. I can't have
static. The energy has to be able to go
through.
Prophecy requires
somebody with profound sensitive wisdom.
Somebody with truly refined
characteristics.
Does not prevail over me any in anything
in the world. In other words, a person
with complete self-control is
you're in a perpetual state of
coherence, of balance, of regulation.
You're completely in touch with your
inner divine rhythm. Of course, I may
have a but it doesn't take control over
me. Not how I speak, not how I eat, not
what type of conversations I have.
A worked out person whose das whose
sense of awareness and cognizance
of truth is broad and refined. These are
his qualifications and doesn't give a
time limit. In other words, this can
happen at any time in Jewish history. At
any time in history, he doesn't say it's
only this time, not that time. What is
he referring to? What is this
institution? What is not an institution?
What is this experience we call nva? we
call prophecy. What's so important for
us to understand is this is what Judaism
looked like during the first thousand
years of its inception. Now let's
understand the Jewish people leave
Egypt. They come to Mount Si. Over there
they experience the presence of God face
to face. God spoke upon him
and they received and the whole
throughout the 40 years of the desert.
They come into it takes 440 years until
builds the first bas which stands for
410 years. So they're init for 440 years
pre-base mikt they have a mishka and
then they have a basikt for 410 years
altogether that is 850 years and then
they're exiled for 70 years to Babylonia
and then 42,000 Jews come back to
rebuild the second ban.
What did Judaism look like during the
first B? Remember there was no text of D
most of the blessings we have they
didn't they had the mitzvah of the Tory
itself they had a bikash and epicenter
in Jerusalem the concept of a shul did
not exist in the first the concept of
dvening three times a day imagine your
husband went nowhere
nowhere no shak no m it didn't exist
you wash the dish
so of course agriculture was a major
part of life. Farming was a major major
part of life. The source of sustenance
that was the real estate at the time.
What was the main focus of Yiddish?
What did the boys do? There was no
gimmar. There was no Mishnayas. There
was an oral tradition that was
transmitted orally. There were the
mitzvah that they did. Whether it's
Shabas, whether it's Pesak, whether it's
Suk is building a suka, whether it's I
mean all the mitzvah that we have from
the Tyra itself. What was the focus of
Judaism? The answer of course is
prophecy.
Our the gammorra says that we only have
recorded 48 prophets like
Amos, like yo, like
Malahi
etc. You have was a great etc. Huh.
But the Gabbor says instructed McGill
page 14 there were prophets.
There were prophets double the amount of
Jews who left Egypt. How many Jews left
Egypt? So males between 20 and 60 you
had 600,000. You also had children, you
had senior citizens, you had females. So
you're talking about a few million
people. Even if the gamura means only
600,000. So double is 1.2 million. How
much was the population at the time? If
you study the population, population
wasn't so big like today. It's very
small. So that means a huge amounts of
Jews were prophets. The Gomorrah says
they didn't record their prophecies
because they only recorded prophecies
that are relevant for eternity.
The Tanakh says and the Gammoras Kazal
say there were schools for prophecies.
There weren't yeshivas where they're
learning what they learn today, a whole
curriculum. But there were schools of
prophecy. They were called Ben Hanov,
the students of the prophets.
School. What was what do schools of
prophecy look like? Can anybody tell me?
You sit down and instead of open your
textbook, girls, girls, the third line,
read the third line, read. Okay, the
gammer, the exam is going to be Monday
morning, 10:00.
I see the teachers are having a good
time. Okay.
What does a school of prophecy look
like?
It's not such a funny question.
It looks very, very different. What does
it even mean?
This is what the first thousand years of
Jewish history looks like. They don't
have 99.9 of the 99% of the text we
have. They don't have they have also not
in print. They have a safety.
So that's what they have. They have they
may have had other texts that we don't
have access to. We know about a lot of
things that were some things that were
lost but they don't have so many texts.
So what was Judaism about? It was about
experiential
experience of God.
Prophecy is always compared to seeing.
Seeing there's an experience of hearing,
there's an experience of seeing.
We say by the whole people
they saw the sounds. So say they saw
what is usually heard. They heard what
is usually seen. What is that supposed
to mean? Has anybody here ever seen a
thunder? Have you ever heard a
lightning? Have you ever seen a concert,
seen music? Have you ever heard an art
gallery? There is something called
sesthesia.
Some people even call it a disorder. The
Evanzra says that's what happened at
Matyra. There was sinthest. You know
what sesthesia is? People who actually
associate vision with sound, right? Like
your voice can be green or red or blue.
I don't know what it means, but I I've
heard from people who experience it.
Deanz says all the five senses come from
one source. So in the source they can
all be interchanged.
But what does that really mean? Why was
it necessary? They saw what is heard.
They heard what is seen. What's the
difference between seeing and hearing?
The Balatanya explains something very
profound. When you see something, you
always begin with the whole picture. And
then you get into the details. When you
hear something, it's the opposite. If
you come into a beautiful home and you
walk into the dining room, what do you
see the first thing?
everything. You're like, "Wow, oh my
god." You look at a beautiful landscape,
a beautiful ocean or mountain. What do
you see? You see the whole picture. Then
you may stand and analyze this detail,
that detail, that detail. But you start
with the cloud and then you go to the
prat. That's what seeing is.
I'm looking at a room. I see everybody.
You see everybody? Yeah, I see
everybody. Do I see the details? I have
to study the details. But you see
everybody with hearing that doesn't
work. If you tell me a story, what do I
hear? I hear a detail and then another
detail then another detail and then
another detail and then at the end I
could put the details together and
create a cohesive picture. You start
with the prat and then you go to the cl.
So is seeing is clatt
hearing is first pratt then cl by m it
says they heard what is usually seen and
they saw what is usually heard. What is
usually heard they could see. what is
usually C and they can. What does this
really mean? It means that there's two
different experiences of Judaism.
And these two experiences
happen in two different stages of Jewish
history.
And then there comes a time sneak
preview where the fusion of the two
begins to develop.
The first stage of Jewish history is
about Nva prophecy. It's seeing
What does it mean to see? It means to
experience God in your bones. What does
that look like?
What does that look like?
Truth is,
and this is this is sad.
Very few of us know what that means.
Because the Judaism, the religion we
have been taught and educated, and this
is nobody's fault. It's just the way
things happen with a lot of lot of long
exile and a lot of darkness is more
information.
It would be like
a recipe book
filled with brilliant recipes.
Brilliant, brilliant recipes. You know
those recipe books, thousand pages.
Every conceivable muffin, every type of
lasagna, every type of pasta, every type
of kale salad, every type
every type of spinach salad, every type
of drink, every type of healthy cake
and unhealthy cake.
Could use three pounds of sugar. If you
don't believe in sugar, you could use
brown sugar. If you don't believe in
brown sugar, you could use coconut
sugar. You don't believe in coconut
sugar. You could use
maple syrup. And if you don't believe in
that, put in bananas and just be quiet
and don't complain.
That's what I eat. My mother-in-law's
muffins. Yeah. You ask her, "What do I
eat? No sugar. That's why I look the way
I look."
So, you have this brilliant recipe book,
right? Now, the recipe book also has
footnotes because it's Jewish, right?
So, there's always like there's always
you need two dozen eggs, but what if you
don't have two dozen eggs? So, then you
could be with a dozen eggs. But the
problem is what if you don't have eggs
at all here? There's a one opinion says
you can put in tofu. The other opinion
says that's going to ruin the whole
thing. Just forget about it. Go have a
nice coffee. You also need baking soda,
but what if you don't have baking soda?
So, one says, "Okay, without baking
soda, it will still be fine." The other
one says, "No, absolutely don't bake it
till you find baking soda." So, somebody
who grew up in a very, very Jewish
environment in New York and then left
everything. I asked him, "Why did you
leave?" And he said, "I learned this
recipe book for 15 years." And then I
would ask my teacher, "Does anybody ever
taste these muffins?"
And he says, "We don't do that.
Does anybody taste it? Don't give me the
recipes how to do it. Do this. Do this."
And then all the arguments. I want to
experience it. What does the experience
of Hashem feel like?
Wow. Whoa, whoa, whoa. You a weirdo.
That's weird. That's queasy. Just do the
right thing. Okay. Our job is to hatch
them, match them, dispatch them. Invite
me for the sham. If you behave, I'll pay
for half of the but that's it. And then
invite me for the and give me a little
and let's move on to the next
generation.
But what did Judaism look like in the
beginning? They didn't have all these
texts. The recipe book was very, very
small. Prophecy actually means being a
channel for a godly vision. It's a whole
different reality. That's why if you
read the Tanakh, you see the language is
very very intense. The language is also
very very real and intimate. And
something else in the first is there was
a crazy amount of idolatry. Why was
everybody worshiping idols? What's the
big deal? The answer is this was zum.
Whenever you're dealing with a Judaism
that is so focused on spiritual
consciousness, everybody needs spiritual
consciousness.
It's like having sushi mitzvah today.
Everybody needs sushi at a mitzvah. But
if you need spiritual consciousness,
you're going to look for it. And if you
can't find it the holy way, you're going
to look for it elsewhere.
And that's why idolatry was so powerful.
It was so tempting. The says after the
destruction of the first basikdash, the
inclination for idolatry was
obliterated. And what else? Prophecy
went down. In the second B mikdash,
Judaism focuses not so much on seeing
but on hearing.
Hearing is all about details. Seeing is
you see oneness and then you get into
the details. And that's why the develops
in the second Bik especially later on
with Mishnay and then is so detailed
oriented
because it's not just the says one get
rid of the no no.
Let me tell you how you get rid of the
So we have a candle and we have a
feather and we go through crevices and
there's a time to do it and there's a
blessing to do it and there's all the
details. If you spoke and you didn't
speak and you stopped then you can
appoint somebody else etc etc. The same
is true with every other hal
hearing and the focus became very
cerebral
extremely cerebral extremely logical
granular dissecting and in many ways it
preserved it. It was those who made fun
of it but that's what preserved it and
they kept it tenaciously.
The tradition of prophecy was still
there but it went more into hiding.
You had groups that studied it that
experienced it. The tanoyam and the
amiroyam were of extraordinary holiness
but at the surface what was revealed for
the masses was more concrete more
practical very cerebral granular
detailed and that's how it moves
and that's why in the beginning in the
time of prophecy this very much a focus
on you could experience the divine
providence constantly and see the
consequences in the desert the moment
they sinned boom they were wiped out
there was no delay because there was
like a direct energy. It's like if you
cut the pipe there's no water. Later the
hash is more concealed and there's a
very big focus on choice on agency.
Comes the Rambam and says
that Bum says there comes a time when
prophecy comes back to the Jewish people
but it's very different than the
prophecy and original.
And this is what we need to understand.
That's why it goes through the process
of seeing and then hearing because the
prophecy that comes back is fusion.
By mat already we had that when it says
we saw what is heard and we heard what
is seen. What does that mean? What does
it mean to see what is being heard? It
means when you focus on a detailed
you don't only hear it, you see it. You
see it as part of a huge picture. It's
like the old Indian story. You know that
story. There was six blind people who
came across a very big interesting
object.
One of them felt the side and said,
"This is a wall." The other one felt the
bottom and said, "This is a tree."
The other one felt something coming out
on the top and said, "This is a spear."
The other one felt something out coming
from the bottom and said, "This is a
interesting pipe."
It was an elephant.
But they were blind. They couldn't see
an elephant. They were right from their
perspective. This is a wall. This is a
tree. This is a spear.
This is a branch.
They didn't know it's a tusk.
It's the leg, etc. So, I can hear
things, which means I get one detail,
another detail, another detail. Seeing
it, you look at the elephant, you see
the whole elephant. By matra they saw
what is heard and they heard what is
seen. In other words, in every detail of
yiddesh
they saw the totality of infinity.
They saw what is usually heard. They
also heard what is usually seen which
means
they could see how every detail is a
manifestation of the bigger picture.
So seeing what is usually heard means
you see it in the context of wholeness.
hearing was usually seen is you know how
to translate that into the details of a
person's life. There are people who are
very good with big picture when it comes
to details they fail and then you have
the converse like in business some
people see the big picture but they
don't know how to get into details it's
a disaster other people are very
detailed oriented but that's where they
get stuck in Yiddish can have the same
comes the Rambam and says in the year
bum says prophecy returns to the Jewish
people and something fascinating ing
happens at this point in Jewish history
for those who are students of Jewish
history. And that is the whole wisdom
known as Kabala which has been
clandestine
for thousands for for for hundreds of
years. Suddenly nobody expected it
emerged. This was already deep thousand
years into gullus. deep thousand years
into gullis, philosophy started to take
over much of the Jewish world where
Islam and Christian philosophers
influence deeply the Jewish world and
many many Jewish philosophers.
wrote a whole book to reconcile the
philosophy of the age with Yiddish
and philosophy became a very dominant
feature in Jewish life and also costed a
lot of casualties because
Yiddeshite was really becoming
subservient to these philosophies and
then literally in those years the
beginning of the 13th century emerged
individuals who started to say there's a
whole hidden experience experiential
dimension of Judaism which is the
official theology of Judaism. It's not
about how to practice the law. It's
about the intimate experience of the
divine. It's about the soul of Yiddish,
the soul of the soul of mitzvah, the
soul of the universe experiencing Hashem
in your life. That became known as
Kabal. The most famous one was the first
person who started the t-shirt or one of
the first. He's known as the rivet raen
of Benov. He also wrote his asagus as
commentaries on the Rambam. He's one of
the greatest sages of the day. He lived
in Pasquires which is in the province in
southern France the riv
and he begins teaching the secret
wisdom. He has a son called Rabbi Isaac
the blind.
He was born blind
and writes about him when he met
somebody he could tell him which who he
was a reincarnation from. That's how
clear he was. He can also you can ask
him a name he could say if the person is
living or not living. He had such a
spiritual sense of reality but he was
born without physical eyesight but with
a lot of spiritual vision. He's called
Sagino. He has two very very famous
students, Rabbi Ezra and Rabbi Ezrael
and he teaches them. They have a friend
known as the Ramban who's considered one
of the greatest sages of his day. Lives
in Spain, Barcelona after the great
debate with Pablo Christiani who was his
student who converted to Christianity
and then debates his teacher
and Ramban wins the debate. But you
couldn't win a debate with Christians.
If you won, you for sure lost. If you
lost, you for sure lost. And he had to
escape to the land of Israel. That's why
the Ramban built his famous Rambades.
He lived during this time the 1200s. And
he is considered one of the greatest
proponents that there's a whole secret
dimension to Judaism that has been lost
or at least very hidden in many of his
works. And the Ramban has a commentary
on Kish. He will say, and here we get
into the secrets and I'm not going to
elaborate, but I'm going to say a few
words. and he trains his students. So
you have the rivet, you have his son the
blind sagar, you have his students Ezra
Israel, you have the Ramban who really
really develops it. These are the early
cabalists of this time that the Rambam
was talking about when Bam says prophecy
is going to come back. You have in
Germany the famous Rabbi Yehuda and his
father Hanovi they called him Hanovi
Hanovi the prophet and Rhuda who was
considered one of the greatest lights of
the Jewish people in exile reens
the pious one who again these were great
new teachers of
Balah
as a student
considered one of the greatest mystics
if you take a look in the next source
he's speaking about the laws of divorce
and suddenly he bursts out.
This is the 13th century. He says Ezra
the prophet said something about a
divorce about a get. It's fascinating
you don't have such a title in this era
of Jewish history. You don't have an but
he puts out this is literally the time
that the Rambam is talking about when he
says that Bum said
prophecy is going to go back to the
Jewish people.
Now I want you to take a look at the
next source which comes from
the book on Jewish philosophy and
mysticism by the grandson of the balat
and he puts it all together and this is
what he says very very powerful words
even after the prophets God shows
miracles. s to the Jewish people through
the Jewish people like by the
enormous amounts of events that seem so
supernatural because it continues even
though you don't have all the official
prophets
even after the which is the time of the
we know about
from worms Germany and also from Germany
13th century who were people of
tremendous tremendous miraculous stature
forgot
once 1216 comes and the box opened it
didn't stop now it just started to
increase once 24 years later the sixth
millennium begins now it's getting
stronger in every generation a few
decades later Rabbi Mosha dean discovers
the zar a whole text a huge huge work
bigger than Gar coming from the school
of at the end of the second B mikdash
that was secretively preserved for
hundreds and hundreds of years more than
13,400 years or around 1300 years and
studied only in small groups and it's
organized and it's published a little
later but then it's publicized in
manuscript this is then comes live in
the 1500s says shall
They said about extraordinary wonders
that God showed through him
the author of the
who writes
he had a spiritual angel who came to
learn with him and he records it all and
he is the author of the so he's like the
most authoritative voice in Jewish law.
And then he says that the generation
before us, this is already now going to
the 17th century and 18th century
who founded theidic movement
like him. There was nobody from the days
of the early ones. Miracles that
completely transcended nature.
I heard from
he the and his student the mag who was
he called the mag his father and the his
grandfather would see from one end of
the world to the other end of the world
like you see something physical.
And they would share it. Their students
heard it from them. It was visceral. It
was real.
How? They had access to the light that
was created on the first day of creation
that was hidden in the access to that
light. And that light gives you a
clarity about the universe.
These are all just to reveal the truth
of Hashem's infinity. That's the
purpose.
Then he testifies about what he saw for
my grandfather the I can tell you what I
he didn't know personally the didn't
know but I heard future future things
that
means it hit the target without missing
a beat. What are we seeing from here?
What the Rambam said that as history
goes on
the secrets of prophecy return and
develop with each generation more and
more and more all as an introduction for
the ultimate gula when prophecy becomes
the domain of everybody and everything.
The mag of Misri was one of the great
sages of his day. He didn't know about
the balshan but he heard about the
balshan. He saw was born 1698 passed
away 1760 on born on the 18th level. So
the mag wanted and who know who the
balshan is? He heard such great things.
So he came to him or something that
lived in Ukraine bush
and he came to him and he went in and
the mag was a great intellectual known
as a great god a real intellectual and
he like knew everything great scholar
and he bash meets him and starts telling
him stories and he was very unimpressed
so he comes back the second day and
tells him another story and he's even
more unimpressed like he said I I don't
need bedtime stories I'm
And then he okay he's a storyteller for
simple peasants who like stories and
want to know that God loves them and
their cows and they should continue to
have milk and the is good for these
people. He goes home to the inn where he
was staying and he tells the coach he
says now it's dark so it's not worth it
to leave. Well in the morning we'll wake
up early and we're going to go on our
journey. In middle of the night he gets
a message that the bos wants to see. So
he comes into the Bamb of the night and
the Bamb asks him you know how to learn
he says yeah
you also know he says yeah he was a
really great scholar opened up on
is one of the great works of the Arizura
lived inas
had a concentration of some of the
greatest capitalists of the time in the
1500s
passed away he of 1572 at the age of 38
in two years he taught Kabala he had two
years to teach. His predecessor was
Rabbi Marshia Cordo the Raak passed away
1570 two years before him. So the has a
safer called written by his student of
so the the shows him a paragraph in the
tree of life and he says can you please
read it to me and explain it to me
and the mag
starts reading it and this is what he
described he's reading it and reading it
and the m starts asking him questions
and he starts giving answers and when he
finishes the bosto says you don't know
how to I want you to read it again
and he says he starts reading the
passage again and suddenly what happens
is everything he's reading about he
starts experiencing it
and he says literally it was like fire
coming out of the page and going into
his bones and he was experiencing it
and he said this is my place and he
became the successor of the now I'm sure
that I understand the story fully, but I
want to take a uh I want to take a I
want to make an attempt. Huh? Stab at it
if I could say so. No pun pun intended
or not intended. What was he telling
him? He was telling him all you're
brilliant but all your yiddes is
hearing. It's not seeing.
So you say every day you love God with
all your heart, with all your soul, with
all your mind. What does that feel like?
What does it feel like? Your heart
experiencing
a infinite infinity. What does that
look? What does it feel like? We know
what it sounds like. We know the
We know what it means to prepare for
Shabas and put on a and make sure.
We know the clay and clay and clay. We
know the if you're allowed to open up
Coca-Cola on Shabas or not open up and I
say you're never allowed to open up
Coca-Cola even on Sunday. Throw it out.
But what does it what is it what what's
the experience? What's the internal
experience? What does it feel like in my
bones? and in my body and in my nervous
system if I experience anoid mo hashem's
reality as infinite. Now, if I asked
this question around, and if I even
asked myself this question a number of
years ago, I would look at myself as
queasy, creepy, and weird. It's like,
don't go there. This is a dangerous
territory. We don't go there. Let's read
the recipe book. Let's study it. Let's
memorize it by heart. I memorize a lot
of things by heart as a kid. Memorize,
memorize, memorize, experience. We don't
go there. When Msiah comes, okay, but
now is gullus, you just do. You want to
learn, learn. But the intellect, learn
with the intellect. And we produced
unbelievable scholars
says you're missing the point.
It's like studying about a relationship,
studying about intimacy, studying about
love, and then you say, "What does that
feel like?" We don't do that.
It's interesting. Gmorrah whenever the
Gmorra wants to bring a proof the words
are tash come and hear come and hear the
z when it wants to say bring a proof you
know what it uses the words come and see
you see the difference in one aspect of
the focus is hearing which is critical
it's important because it's the detailed
information that is divine in z which is
come and see don't come and hear come
and see
that's why it's a little strange to talk
about these
We're not supposed to talk about these
things. They're more experienced than
silence
because it's really about the
experience. So the Rambam says Judaism
went through a stage. First there was
seeing from above down. It was God
showing himself to the Jewish people.
That was prophecy and also a lot of
idolatry. Then comes the destruction of
the first B mikdash. And now there's a
new avoid avoid is now not from the top
down, from the bottom up. Now it's not
seeing, now it's hearing. Now it's
creating yourself from within reaching
upward. So you don't see you here.
There's more a focus on agency and
personal choice and it's about how to
live and every individual making
decisions etc.
But then there comes the preparation for
Msiah. Now is the fusion the fusion of
seeing and hearing the fusion of top to
bottom and bottom up.
That's the third mik. The first
basikdash, the first bases mikdash is
from bottom up, from top down. The
second basikdesh was built through the
Persian king Iran for heaven's sake.
It's a different Iran. Cyrus gave
permission to build a second basikash.
It came from the Gentiles.
Okay, maybe maybe he was a Jew, but he
certainly didn't hang out around Jews.
He didn't know what a shaka looks like.
What's the third B mikdash fusion?
Where do you see this also? And I heard
this on a beautiful podcast about Kabala
Rabbi, my friend Rabbi Dober Ber Pinson
who brought this out. There's always a
paradox in Jewish history
do we have free choice or does God
really run the world and how can both
work together? If there's a practice on
and everything that happens so how do I
have
right what's really happening you went
through difficult situations in your
life in your marriage in your pasa with
your kids was it God's choice or was it
your husband's choice or was it your's
choice not mine my
talking about your also
who who really made these choices you
say no my husband is a traumatized
victim PTSD D or for the men listening,
your wife may be a traumatized victim,
but I don't know about that. Okay,
whatever. I'm not going to get involved.
Is it God's choice or is it people's
choice? I'm wondering
is divine providence. Do I have choice?
Do people have choice or not? And you'll
see in Jewish philosophy,
right, there was a very big focus. No,
people have choice. And those who said
divine providence is more limited came
to and said divine providence is so
intricate even a leaf that falls off a
tree is in what direction it falls off
where it grows after it falls off it's
detailed med says that Malik felt that
spiderw webs are superfluous and fools
are superfluous right you know the story
and then a spiderweb saved him from sha
and a fool insanity saved him by because
he made himself insane And the guy said
and finally David realized the purpose
of a spiderweb and the purposefulness of
a foolish
said something powerful. It wasn't that
David doubted only that it's
indispensable and Hashem said it has a
purpose. He was shown that without a
spiderweb he would have not survived.
That means Malus based David would have
never happened. That means the entire
kingship of David which leads us to
Msiah would have not happened without a
spiderweb. So it's not just a spiderweb
has purpose. It's indispensable to the
cosmic symphony. It has a part in the
cosmic plan and that's only a spiderweb
on your porch.
On the other hand, after the bos in the
last few generations, it became a focus
on free choice so much more. It used to
be people live more in the collective.
Now it's all about agency. You you you
you
the BMP began that era of enlightenment
which started to focus on the
individual. Take away the power from
government from monarchy from the church
in the non-Jewish world and
individuality became the idol of our
generation. I I I you choose you choose
you choose. You ever watch commencement
address commencement addresses by
universities? Guy who's worth $20
billion gets up and says be an
individual and make your mark and don't
be afraid to make mistakes.
And they say we live in a generation of
I. And that's why our technology is also
named based on I. So you have iPhones
and iPods and iPads. And when you have
finally a game that's called Wii, it's
spelled with two I's.
But the truth is, so which one is it?
Divine Providence or free choice. The
truth is in previous generations they
couldn't really come to a conclusion
because they were not comfortable with
the idea of paradox.
Philosophy always looked to figure
things out. Today in physics and science
the key awareness is that everything is
full of paradox. If you know anything
about quantum mechanics which is modern
physics it's all about things not
fitting into the logical structures.
Subatomic particles are moving clockwise
and counterclockwise simultaneously.
Light is both a wave and a particle
simultaneously. It doesn't make sense.
Good morning. Welcome to the universe.
Schroinger's cat, a cat is dead and
alive simultaneously.
So divine providence is perfect and
impeccable and you have choice. And
that's perfect and impeccable.
And this is an example of the twos the
two fields coming together from bottom
up and from top bottom seeing and
hearing the experience of the collective
and the experience of the individual.
It's choice coming from you from within
and yet you have the power to find the
divine within
and the two come together
and this is where
the opportunity and the struggle and the
challenge and the gift of our generation
lay.
And this is what we have to understand.
People are asking the question what
happened to the youth? They always say
this. What happened to the youth? I had
it much harder as a kid. Cuz people tell
me, you think my mother was easy? You
know what my mother looked like before
Pes? You know how much trauma my parents
had? But you did what you had to do. And
today's teenagers is a padana, Miss
America entitled
bunch of spoiled, spoiled, spoiled,
self-centered kids.
What happened? Good old obedience. Do
the right thing. Be a soldier.
and so on and so forth. And there's a
lot of arguments about this. A lot of
arguments. Shabas tables are filled with
interesting conversations. Just tell
them how to behave and they listen. Stop
spoiling them. And others say, "No,
you're missing the point." No, I'm not
missing the point. You're creating the
problems. A mental health crisis. Why?
What happened? They don't have steak.
They don't have what to eat. What's the
crisis? They lost the keys to their new
car. What's the issue?
Something didn't work out exactly the
way they wanted. They don't know what to
wear for the and Amazon was delayed by
two and a half hours.
Cuz it's not enough that it comes within
two hours. It has to come within 2
minutes.
What's the crisis?
You tell people that they're sick, they
become sick. You tell them they're
stressed, they become stressed. You tell
them they have anxiety, they have
anxiety.
I'm not denying the effects of
technology and the fact that there is
there are mistakes done and so on and so
forth. But there's a real deep issue
that it's not so easy to address and
it's the real truth.
The real truth is there's a generation
not only of youngsters also older people
who are open to the energy who realize
that God recently has upgraded
consciousness very seriously.
We're going to an age of prophecy.
The age of prophecy means that if you
want to experience Yiddish kite in a
real way, it needs to be experienced.
Imagine what does it look like if you
experience Hashem's oneness in your
bones. You think you're going to ever
have to go to another Shir not speaking.
The whole idea you take, right, make a
resolution not to speak lash for the
next two hours. What is that based on?
that's based on an old
lifeless Judaism. It's like of course I
want to talk lara but for the next two
hours since I want
to have a so for two hours I'm going to
suppress my emotions and my joy and I'm
not going to speak even though he went
to yi coffee or java and we're at the
great juicy time to speak about
marriage and what she did with the kids
and did you hear what happened at the
this and she's telling everybody to be
ste
and it's 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
It's a great time but because we want
that yentle should have a complete and
speedy recovery. So for two hours we're
going to suppress our emotions and not
talk gossip especially is coming.
So for two hours make believe
you don't want to talk and say sorry I
would love to but I made a resolution
and it's my job and who knows what's
going to happen to her. She's having
surgery today and the three weeks are
coming.
That's called traumatized gulos
depressing Judaism.
The same is true with Shabas and Pes and
Davin and learning and everything. What
the Ram is teaching us here is history
is reaching a point where God is saying
you can experience.
Experience is very different. Everybody
knows when you feel love in your heart
viscerally, you're in a different state.
You're regulated. You're serene. Why
would I have a conversation with anybody
that is literally going to take me out
of bliss? Just explain that to me.
Imagine a person has the most incredible
marriage, a husband and a wife. Amazing.
Really incredible marriage. I know in
2025 it can be a miracle. But it's
mamesh incredible. They just love they
love spending time with each other.
And re really that's what every people
are looking for that because there's a
potentiality for healing today. People
can get there but they have to do a lot
of work. But they can get there if
people are ready to confront their
demons, their skeletons, their
blockages. We all have antennas that can
experience Hashem. That's how we were
made. When it says your soul is a
mamish, it's not a joke. It's not
cliche. It's not cute words of the
Tanya. It's real. We also have a body
and an animal consciousness which is not
a mistake. It's all there to be elevated
and supplemented. But I need to do work.
The first work I need to do is confront.
Look at things honestly. Open myself up.
Want to learn. Be curious. Not be
defensive. Be forgiving first and
foremost to myself, to yourself.
Celebrate our humanness, our
vulnerability. From there, we begin to
grow. We're human. That's our
uniqueness. It's not a mistake. We're
supposed to be human. It's why God
created us. He wants us to be human, not
angelic.
Human human holiness is the secret. Now,
imagine this couple having an
incredible, incredible marriage. And I
know some of you are like, "Rabbi, why I
wish." But just go with me for a moment.
And your husband really fills you. Your
husband fills you. A woman who can feel
that her husband fills her heart. And
the husband feels that way about his
wife. emotionally, psychologically,
spiritually, on all levels. A real real
what they say a match made in heaven but
lives on earth.
Now,
forgive my example, but I want to bring
out what this really means.
Another woman approaches this man to
flirt a little bit, or a man or this
wife is approached by somebody else.
If they both have a void, if they don't
like their marriage, if their marriage
is miserable, it's hard. Yeah, the woman
wants attention from somebody. She wants
somebody to say something nice. Yeah,
the husband wants attention. Happens all
the time. It's an innocent text message
sometimes by a boss. I get a lot of
emails about this. It's just a text
message. But he falls prey. She falls
prey. It's normal. People want to feel
good about themselves. So, they go to
the leaks. There's leaks in the
marriage. So, they find those leaks. But
if you're having such a deep
relationship, she got to be crazy. What
are you giving up? You're giving up
something so real and powerful for fake
news that's going to explode in your
face in a few days.
Now take that to relationship with
Hashem. It's the same thing. If you
experience what holiness looks like in
your body, what does it look like?
That is what we're talking about when we
say prophecy today. Most of us are not
prophets like Mosher Rabenu who can just
experience a revelation and know the
future. You're going to have that too.
But we're talking here about prophecy
from within to understand that God
speaks to everybody.
Not in a crazy lunatic insane way. God
told me you should give me your jewelry
and you should give me your bank account
and your car too. I'm not talking about
that's why people are afraid of this
topic. But we're talking about trusting
yourself in a very deep place. Knowing
your soul, having a relationship with
your soul, knowing the energetic
difference between reacting and
initiating, the energetic difference
between your holiness and the part of me
that's a kipa, that's just a shell and a
husk and a cover up.
And that's what we're describing as
history goes on. These words of bum
become more and more and more every
single year. And now as we stand before
the gula so close
and it's a day of redemption yamas is
also a day of gula.
So you're talking about an in a very
deep authentic experience where people
are capable of learning how to trust
themselves much more. A whole generation
grew up learning don't trust yourself.
You're bad. You're evil. You're lazy.
You're a couch potato. How dare you sit
on the couch sip your coffee. Do you
know how much work there is?
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
whoa. And so much of Yiddishkai comes
out of guilt and heaviness. And it's
nobody's fault, Mish. Nobody's fault
because the fact is we survived. We're
here to tell the tale. We're even here
to about the fact that we're crutching.
That's pretty good.
Now, we can upgrade it. Now, what's the
sign? How do you know
when you can trust yourself? you can't
trust yourself. How do you know when the
prophet in you is communicating? Meaning
the part of you that senses and
experiences Hashem's truth and the part
of me that's maybe insecure and wounded
and angry and overwhelmed and anxious.
And when I confuse the two, it can
become very very dangerous. And I think
there's always four signs. Number one,
when the inner voice of the divine in
you speaks, you feel very humble.
There's no arrogance. The moment I start
feeling, oh, I own God. I own the world.
I own people. Look how powerful. Look
how good. This is not prophecy. This is
egotism.
Prophecy is always Mosha is the greatest
prophet. He's also the most humble
person. You right away know it's nothing
to do with you or your ego. You're a
channel. The moment you feel like you're
a channel, that's the first test that
you're connecting to that part. I don't
own anybody. I don't need validation
from anybody to build that ego. I'm a
channel and it's the most beautiful
feeling in the world because you're in
touch with the infinite energy. You are
actually infinite. So there's no ego
there. Ego is easing God out.
That's the first slickness test. There's
also the second one. And the second one
is you're very regulated.
There's no pressure and urgency and
anger and frustration. The whole world
is crazy. We have to nuke all the
schools and I'm going to be the teacher
of health.
When you're regulated, when you're
coming from that space, there's an inner
calmness. There's a love, there's a
compassion. It's not like right now. Do
it right now. There's also I'm not
operating from a place of negativity and
anger and frustration because that means
I'm not in touch with the frequency of
infinity. I'm just protecting myself and
using God from my own ego games and for
my own coping mechanisms. That's the
second step. humility and true inner
regulation. The third step is
you don't deviate from the you don't
deviate from
one of the greatest mistakes of many
people who start touching spirituality
is they start playing games with oh I
know what God wants. I don't have to
follow the law. I'm smarter than the
law. I'm above the law. The moment
somebody starts changing
it's not prophecy anymore. They're not
following their divine soul. They're
following now an ego game. They may be
sophisticated. They may be brilliant.
They may even take a stab and be
successful once in a while, but they're
fundamentally detaching themselves
because
the blueprint of is a divine blueprint
for life. So the moment I start
undermining it or destroying it or
ignoring it, it has nothing to do with
Msiah, nothing to do with God, nothing
to do with prophecy. It's just my own
ego trick. And the fourth thing is to
get feedback from the people around you.
If my wife or my children are saying,
"Wow, I see you're a much better
person." If your husband and your
children, friends, people you trust,
say, "Wow, it's such a pleasure to be in
your presence. You're going on the right
track." When you yourself found the
truth and everybody around you is
suffering because they're not smart
enough.
Fake news. Fake news. These are the four
steps. humility, inner regulation coming
from a place of love, compassion,
tranquility, serenity, not crazy
pressure and urgency,
obedience, loyalty to the
and the fourth, feedback from the people
closest to you who give feedback of the
beauty they're seeing, the light they're
seeing, the love they see, the
positivity they're seeing.
This is how you know that you're opening
yourself up to deeper energies inside of
yourself. There is healing going on.
This is the beginning of prophecy.
Prophecy does not necessarily mean
there's a lightning that shines into my
head from some weird space, some outer
space sky.
It means an inner clarity, an inner
awareness. You are divine. The divine is
inside of you. That's the fusion of the
first stage of history, the second stage
of history. It's where hearing and
seeing comes together. You see what is
heard and you hear what is seeing. You
see what is heard which means the
detailed hala is experienced as part of
the collective infinity and the
collective infinity could be translated
into the granular details of my life.
You know what granular means into the
granular details of my life. You see
what is heard and you hear what is seen.
And now we come full circle to one of
the most emotional and with this we end
one of the most emotional stories in the
whole of Kanak about a child named Shul
Hanovi
is the son of Kana. She dedicates him to
Hashem and when he's old enough she
brings him to the Mishka to the
tabernacle in Sheila to serve there with
the high priest Ay and the Na'vi in Shu
1 chapter 3 it's your last source
describes a very moving scene it's night
time and A goes to sleep he's already an
old man and goes to sleep as a youngster
and suddenly Hashem calls out to you
seem
the Last story is
says here I am but doesn't think that
God is calling to him. How could God be
calling to me? I'm a baby. So he thinks
a is calling him from his bedroom.
So he runs to Ay and he says he and a
says I never called you. You heard it
and it's a hallucination. Go back to
sleep. You're hearing voices.
So Schmo goes back to sleep. And Hashem
calls him again and he says
runs again to Ay the high priest and he
says he name. come here and he says, "I
never called your name. You're
imagining. Go back to bed." So goes back
to bed.
And the said that Tanak never knew what
it feels like to experience God. God
never spoke to him. God never revealed
himself to him. And Hashem calls him a
third time. So he runs back to Ay. You
see, it never even crosses his mind that
it's anybody else. And Ay says, "What do
you want?" And he says, "Hey, you called
me." And then Ay gets it. Schmool didn't
get it. A understands three times. It's
strange. How many hallucinations is this
kid having? So Ay says, "Yeah
understands that this is a divine
calling." So a tells and test go back to
sleep. And if you hear another voice
calling you
say
hashem speak your servant is listening.
He doesn't tell him it's hashem. He says
if you hear a fourth time a voice then
say hashem speak because your servant is
here. And goes back to sleep and once
again he hears suddenly
and says
by the way he doesn't say hashem like a
told him. He doesn't he can't even get
that out of his mouth. He just says
speak because his servant is listening.
Why is this story recorded in the you
say well it's an interesting story and
it shows you that was humble and he
didn't expect it. That's all true
was a very very humble man. was
equivalent to
but like every story in Tanakh is also a
timeless lesson like we learned before
there were millions of Jewish prophets
only 48 of them were recorded in Tanakh
because each one of them has timeless
lessons and one of the very powerful
lessons of this story is we are not
hanovi
and we shouldn't think I think we are at
least I'm talking for myself I'm no
small hanavi or even a much lower
stature of a novi my father also was not
a Na'vi. I don't think his father was a
Na'vi. But there's a very powerful
message here and that is
living with a very deep awareness and
that is God can't be talking to me.
There's no such a thing. And he hears
it must be Ali. And he puts it on to Ali
and he goes to Ali and says it's not me.
It's not me. It's not me. And then Ali
has to give him that confidence and say
it's not me. And the next time you hear
that voice, it's not me. It's you. It's
direct. It's intimate. You don't need me
as an intermediary.
What a lesson in life. So many of us
never ever learn to believe in who we
are, to trust ourselves, to understand
God speaks to you in your own way. And I
don't mean that you should start
fantasizing and telling me about
prophecies of what I should do for you.
I'm talking about living a life of an
inner inner awareness that comes from a
recognition of who you really are, of
how much light you have to give the
world, of how much light you have to
give yourself. But my whole life, I
could live without a doubt. I'll trust
myself. I have addictions. I have
depressions. I have laziness. I get
angry. I get frustrated. I get
overwhelmed. I have anxiety. Should I
tell you about my childhood?
This and this and this and this. I
learned not to trust myself. Show up, be
a good mom, a good wife. Make sure
there's breakfast, lunch, and dinner,
laundry, the cleaning lady didn't come.
Really though, and once in a while,
maybe Shabus morning I'll sleep in for
three minutes.
So many of us learn not to trust
ourselves. Just do the right thing show
up. And there's something so powerful
about it. And we ought to salute
so many generations of people who really
sacrificed so much to hold up the fort
and to pass on the baton.
And then God says, "Now let's upgrade
consciousness."
Hashem speaks to you through you, inside
of you. What does that look like? It's
the voice of your soul that is very
authentic. You c you you cultivate it in
silence. You cultivate it in regulation.
I cultivate it when I'm ready to look at
my demons, at my skeletons, at my
traumas, at my insecurities. If I'm not
ready to look at all of my blockages, I
will never hear that still voice that
kadaka will always remain hidden. And I
will always just react to things and use
religion and God to continue to
facilitate my frustration. Some people
are very religious, but deep down
they're miserable. Some people are very,
very religious, but are clueless. Some
people are very very religious but their
hearts are so closed. Some people are
very very religious but they never taste
it. What does it feel like to surrender
completely and experience the bliss of a
and it's nobody's fault. We don't have
schools of prophecies. We will have but
we don't have at the moment. And as a
result of that this whole dimension of
life which is the essence of life is
closed down. So when I want to educate
my kids, all I know is I know how to
preach. I know how to lecture. I know
how to give mus. I know how to give
prizes. And I could be the best father
in the world. But what I don't know how
to do often is just be present and let
them experience
the energy of love inside your heart.
Like we quoted one of the rabbis one
day, I think it was Rabbi Rietti, Rabbi
Fischer, who said, "Don't put God in
your child's heart.
Open your heart completely so that your
child can experience your heart. And if
Hashem is in your heart, your child will
find him in your heart. That looks very
different. That's very real. That's very
authentic. It's also very very
regulating. I don't have to control.
It's being. It's full presence. It's
joyful mindful presence.
It's being in sync. It's being aligned.
It's being attached. It's being
connected. Of course, we have difficult
moments. Of course, I have anxiety. Of
course, I get exhausted, overwhelmed,
angry, anxious. But then I could look at
that and slowly say why come back. You
can come back. You can come back.
Breathe. Have compassion and then come
back. Shel is teaching us. A is saying
when you hear that calling, learn to
say, "Oh, it's me. It's me. Wow, it's
me. Of course, I know how to be an
amazing mother. Of course, I know how to
be an amazing father." when I'm ready to
really really see that, hold on to it,
embrace it, believe it. So when the
Rambam says that these words of Bum
refer to a particular moment in history,
this opens up a new flow of
consciousness that with each year gets
stronger. And in my mind, it's no
coincidence that this verse is said
right before the verse, a nation will
rise like a lion, which has been the
recent experience because this is a time
when consciousness is obviously being
upgraded and history is so moving so
swift that we don't want to stand at the
sidelines, but rather embrace redemptive
consciousness with passion and zest.
Zest and love. Have a beautiful week.
Please remember next week, next week.
