Pro Israel Rally in Lakewood NJ Operation Protective Edge

in sport of Israel I think it's important for people to understand that we are all together in this there is no such thing as them as us no matter where you are if you're a Jew in this world you are a part of this I had the opportunity to speak to my son who's serving in Gaza I had the opportunity to speak to him an hour ago and he told me Dad it's funny you see in Gaza how they indoctrinate their kids with this with hatred toward Jews and it's like it's become part of their DNA that their little kids hate and want to kill Jews he says how important is it for us to change our DNA that we should love all Jews no matter what they look like no matter who they are but if we are if we would teach our children to love all Jews no matter what how much better would we all be as opposed to what they're doing by raising their kids to hate hate hate and this is what my son is is seeing over there so Hashem should bless us all that we all should have that understanding for ourselves for our families for our children that we should teach our children am right we're all responsible for each other we all should treat each other with respect and covet and dignity no matter what we look like a different reason why we're standing here but the main underlining issue why we are here is to stand in solidarity not just with the Jews in Israel but the Jews around the world w where we've been living in the same days as we are it feels like how it explained by my grandparents in the 40s the anger that people are giving to us in the streets how we feel in the newspapers in the news how they twisting the news against the Jews but the truth is and the reality is and I quote if you are anti-israel you are anti-america and the reason for that is because America stands for freedom and Israel stands for the same the only country in the Middle East and one of the only countries in the world that allows everybody to stand together as one as America does and as we are here now freely doing so hello everyone my name is yakob Verdugo I'm 22 years old and I live here in laka New Jersey I served in the IDF for a year and a half as a power Trooper in the elite 101st Battalion of tanim this invol 8 months of training and 6 months of guarding the border of Syria Lebanon and Gaza after my service I returned to the US on a very short notice I was asked to speak at this event and I would like to say it's an honor to do so I would like to start by thanking everyone who came from all over in order to attend to this event and to all the incredibly dedicated volunteers who helped put this together so how did this war start what made humas decide that this should be the time to start bombarding Israel with rockets on June 12th 2014 three boys Gad andali were kidnapped and killed on their way home from school by two members of Hamas the series of the events that transpired escalated to the start of operation protective Edge what Hamas failed to realize is that by starting this conflict they United the Jewish Nation as a [Applause] whole people started praying for Israel everywhere all over the world rallies were being held in support of the Jewish State the unity that is being witnessed now has never been seen before when Israel launched a ground invasion in Gaza they went in with the purpose of destroying hamas's rocket Supply and returning quiet and peace to the south of Israel Israel was not prepared for what they saw an entire infrastructure of complex tunnels were was built right underneath Gaza which was which were built for the sole purpose of smuggling weapons and kidnapping soldiers and civilians billions of dollars received by Hamas leadership and Aid That was supposed to build the Singapore of the Middle East was used instead for the purpose of Terror over 30 tunnels were found since the start of the operation protective edge with a total cost of around 1.25 billion to give you an idea of what that amount means it would have translated into building two hospitals 20 schools three towers and three malls this is a a crime perpetrated by Hamas against the Palestinian people they deserve better than this the IDF have arrested multiple Hamas terrorists who have painted a horrific picture regarding details on a planned terror attack of immeasurable proportions Hamas had been planning for over 12 years for this attack which was going to take place on Russia Shana 2014 2 months from now they built an underground tunnel from Gaza directly into Israel with 16 exit points and on Russia Shah they were going to send over 20 terrorists dressed as IDF soldiers out of each one of the exits hundreds of terrorists dressed as IDF soldiers was going to infiltrate every town and community in southern Israel and commit massacres and kid kidnapping like we've never seen before this is a miracle these three boys G and have saved numerous of lives by averting such an attack we are witnessing something in this generation that we have never seen before sympathy for terrorists messages of free Gaza and free Palestine can be seen everywhere millions of people are supporting Hamas a terrorist organization what we are seeing today is a double standard that just doesn't make any sense innocent people are dying daily in countries all over the world with barely a mention in the media or the UN the only democracy in the Middle East tries defending itself after suffering rocket attacks and is looked at like the aggressors Hamas deliberately places it Rockets among civilians in schools mosques and hospitals since they know that Israel won't attack them there this has been proven when UNICEF reported finding 20 rockets in a school Hamas is perpetrating a double War crime fing Rockets indiscriminately into Israel while Sheltering their Rockets with their own children yet Israel is called the terrorist Israel never had airplanes flying into its pentagon or it business buildings it's America America that needs help the front line of American diplomacy and Military might is Israel I am here knowing that every big or little terrorists killed in Gaza is a future potential enemy or terrorists against my blessed uh some comments um number one my number one comment uh is uh that I believe that everybody who's here today who's come to support Israel and the Israeli Army is is performing a Mitzvah but um but I have bad news for you unfortunately that Mitzvah is not sticking to you but it is sticking to one of the soldiers out in the front lines in gazin it's protecting them so thank you very much you I believe that we're all saving lives over here once again I would like to acknowledge and thank those who put this flash mob together look at the beautiful turnout that we have here they said it couldn't be done in Lakewood and we disagree because the people who are here understand what it's all about you get it I wanted to before I before I say what I need to say I want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank those like Dr Braverman did those who who serve who are currently serving in the IDF and in the American Military and those who did serve like to specifically to thank ay Lamberg acknowledge them but currently serving in Gaza or in whereabouts there along with my son Ain langard is Aron opheim oh yeah and I understand uh ladyy Spiegel is now attending commanders or and ruen ruen L Ari karp think about it who would have thought that in 2014 with six boys currently serving from Lakewood in the [Applause] IDF and then of course we have major soon to be General Bufalo berdugo serves the armed forces in the United States and of course we can all be proud of our current Mayor manasha Miller who happens to be in Texas right now on active duty I had the opportunity to speak to my son a couple of hours ago and he told me something very interesting that really really I think we all know he said Dad when we're in Gaza we see what they do to their children he says it's amazing to us how we see little children who are so indoctrinated with hate from the womb from the cradle they're taught to hate Jews this is what they're taught he says we see it in Gaza they are taught to hate Jews it becomes part of their DNA that's what they think that's what they teach their children my son said to me wouldn't it be wonderful and isn't it amazing how as Jews we're taught to love we're taught to love our fellow Jew when was asked what's the most important mitah in the Torah he said everything else is Superfluous how we are taught to love our fellow Jew and that's what becomes part of our DNA and I think and I hope that that's what we should take away from this Gathering and from all the Gatherings that we see that we as Jews love each other and that's what we're here on Earth to spread we are here to show respect we are here to show tolerance we are here to show love to the rest of the world it shouldn't matter what you look like it shouldn't matter what type of yamaka is on your head it shouldn't even matter if there is a yamaka on your [Applause] head if we if I truly believe that if we can take away from these type of events I gr for a second last week I happened to have been in Miami with my wife we went to a support for Israel parade uh rally we went to a support for Israel rally across the street was a counter prootest a counter protest Palestinian protest you can look it up you can actually see it on YouTube for those who have filtered internet and an isure they were yelling kill the Jews they were yelling we are Hamas they were yelling we are jihads jih we weren't yelling kill the Arabs we weren't yelling get rid of the Arabs we were yelling we want peace we were saying I'm youai we were saying we want to live together in peace with our neighbors that is the difference between the two sides here one side wants to kill us all and let me tell you something it doesn't matter whether you're a Jew it doesn't matter whether you're a Christian it doesn't matter whether you're a Hindu or it doesn't matter whether you're a Muslim that doesn't believe in their Muslim Outlook their goal is to eradicate you to either have you convert to their form of their religion or to kill you people don't understand that I think in America most Americans are very complacent they say it can't happen here but as Rabbi Ro novasel reminded us just a few short minutes ago not too long long ago there were planes and attacks on our country took down the Twin Towers took out the Pentagon people wake up understand what this war is all about this is an ideological war because they want to assert their rule over us we will not let them and you know how we're going to accomplish our goal by showing respect and tolerance and love to one another Hashem should bless us us all to bless Amy with the wisdom and the patience to treat every single Jewish person and a non-jewish person with respect with tolerance and with love and through
