we spoke before about the idea that this world is the place where we earn but the real pleasure of that earning comes in the world to come meaning we have till the day we die that's the deadline for earning the world to become the afterlife is the is the place and the time for which we take pleasure in that which we earned and the pleasure is going to be infinite pleasure that's the incredible pleasure so to speak that the almighty created the world for and one moment of that pleasure is more than all the pleasures of this world of everybody from the beginning of time to the end of time put together doesn't compare to one moment because that's the infinite pleasure that the infinite being the creator will the world wants us to have through earning and choosing in this world so you'd think a little bit that the whole point of life is the world to come but it's funny because judaism doesn't say that julian says he puts a whole emphasis on this world why because this world is the place where we exercise our free will where we have real choice where we have real freedom and that's why it says in pirkei i vote in ethics of the fathers more beautiful is one moment of good good deeds and chuva chuva and good deeds in this world then all of the world to come how could that be the pleasure of the even one moment the world could become so great how can it be that one moment of this world is more than all of the next world why because our ability in this world which we take so for granted to choose to be independent we're not a blade of god of of grass we're not a stone we're not even an animal we're a human being that can decide that can choose and we can choose to live a meaningful life we can choose to be good we can choose to serve the creator of the universe wow that is an incredible thing and we're thrilled with the opportunity that we have to make those choices to make a difference right that you can only do in this world when we die it's game over even though we'll have tremendous pleasure of of in the world to come of taking pleasure in what we accomplished in a much deeper way but the game is over it's like the feeling of playing pinball and you know what then you see game over you can't play it anymore this world is the real is the is the place of playing of of meaning of making a difference and therefore that's why judaism focuses on this world that we're here to make the world a better place here in this world how can we alleviate people's suffering how can we have a full relationship with god how can we perfect ourselves as individuals how can we help each other and bring the whole world to a greater degree of morality and spirituality and connection to the infinitely that's what we're focused on we do that and when we do that right hashem will give us reward in the world to come but our focus is thank you michelle for the incredible reward you're going to give me but i'm focused my pleasure is doing it it's choosing to do it is making that difference it's creating that difference in this world that's the that's that's the greatest opportunity that we have that we can make a difference that we can be godly in this world one moment one choice of that is is considered more than all of the world to come and we appreciate it we understand it that how valuable our time is one moment of time is worth more than any money why because we have in this world the opportunity to choose to be like god to create to make a difference to be free and there's nothing that compares to that there's no greater gift there's no greater opportunity than being a human being that's able to serve the almighty the creator that is the greatest opportunity of all of existence and we should appreciate it we should take pleasure in it and realize that we have it
